Another great stay at the stables. A stylish environment with pristine facilities (shout out to the cleaners who are lovely). Soft, comfy linen, powerful, hot showers and plenty of living space. We loved having the paddock so close to us, where our dog could run free. Such a quiet, peaceful setting, and yet barely 10 minutes from the town centre. This was our second visit and not long enough a stay. We'll be booking again for next year. Thanks again, Nicky, Geoff and team.

I stayed at Shepherd Oak from February to March during my 6 week placement as a student at the hospital in Dorchester and loved having such a lovely, quiet place to retreat to in the evenings after busy weekdays. The cottage and its surroundings were very clean and tidy and its location is beautiful and very peaceful. The town of Upwey in general is also lovely and I spent my weekends discovering the walks around the area and frequenting the most gorgeous tearoom I've ever been in (the Wishing Well tearoom just down the road!) so for me the cottage couldn't have been in a more perfect location! The host and co-host, Helen and Gemma, were very friendly and communicative throughout my stay and overall I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Shepherd Oak and would wholly recommend to anyone. Yes, all the 5 star reviews are true! Our stay at Joy’s place was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The apartment was spotless. Joy supplied some wonderful goodies, pastries, scrumptious bread, biscuits and fresh fruit and milk. Lots of information about the area. As the buses were so frequent we used them to visit some wonderful scenic places. Everything one would want for a short stay. The views are amazing with lots of lovely walks nearby which our little dog Mollie loved.

A lovely private property in a quiet street. Spotlessly clean with a modern kitchen and bathroom. The town and seafront are a 30 minute walk but it's a very easy route and it was nice being away from main town. Julia and Paul were very friendly when I met them and I had a great stay
