  • Amazing little space to escape to. The hut is beautifully decorated and has a good quality log burner. Comfy bed, cooking facilities in the hut, nice and clean. The hot tub was a bonus and made the evening and boring even better. Thanks Jeremy! See you soon :)

  • What a perfect little haven away from it all! Loved the peace and quiet of no tv or wifi. The old railway carriage is very cozy and has everything you need including tea, coffee and milk. Hot tub was awesome after dinner for some stargazing and still warm enough in the morning before breakfast. We will return👍

    Emma2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t be more perfect. Away from everyone and everything. A real chance to connect with nature and watch the stars in an evening soak in a log burner hot tub. Wish I had more time At the cabin.

  • The Shepard’s hut was perfect for a quick weekend away. The hot tub was definitely the highlight, even in the rain. Cabin warms up very quickly after lighting the log burner. Bring flip flops/sliders for getting to and from the hot tub and toilet. Plough across the road do great food too. Thanks again!

    Ben2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely one night stay here and the hot tub was great, the cooking facilities were perfect and the fairy lights were a great touch! Great communication, would defiantly recommend.

    Bethanie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • I would 100% recommend this place, and even come back again! Myself and 3 friends came to the Rectory Retreat as a get away for my birthday and as a general get away from the city. It was far beyond what we expected and loved every minute. From the moment we got there, Lisa had everything ready for us. She gave us a tour and explained how everything worked. They’re avid recyclers too!! Which was a plus. The hot tub is with an extra cost but split between myself and friends it was virtually nothing. Can’t thank Lisa and Jeremy enough for an amazing place to stay.

  • Stayed here at the end of February, even though the weather wasn’t ideal (there was a storm this weekend!) we still got full use of the hut and hot tub. If you’re thinking of staying here the tub is a no brainer. It’s a wonderful escape from civilisation and we’re so glad we discovered it for our first Airbnb experience! Thank you to Lisa for meeting us and showing us how to find the hut and use the facilities, made us extremely comfortable staying here! Would highly recommend!

  • One of the most beautiful Air BNB's we have ever stayed in. Ben was a fantastic host, a lovely guy and he really goes above and beyond in every element to ensure you have the best stay possible. He was there to meet us when we arrived and gave us a tour around the house and how to use all of the facilities. The house is absolutely stunning and a lot of thought has gone into maintaining the original details of the house but with some modern touches such as the kitchen and bathroom. It was the perfect weekend getaway, I just wish we could have stayed for longer!

  • We had a lovely weekend at Ben's place. It is very tastefully decorated and Ben has thought of everything you could possibly need or want. We enjoyed relaxing in front of the roaring log fire and everyone slept well in the super comfy beds. He was very helpful with lots of local restaurant suggestions for us to pre book. The location is peaceful and perfect for visiting lovely Cotswold villages. We were sorry to leave and would definitely return.

  • The stables is a great place to stay. Everything was as described. Enough space for the luggage. Super clean, cosy, a lot of space to park the car. Close enough to visit Oxford. There was some traffic noise outside, but you hear nothing inside. We would stay there again.

    Brigitte2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place to stay, the rooms are beautiful, spotlessly clean and have everything you need for a get away in the Cotswolds. Great base for exploring the area with pubs and restaurants just a short 4min drive away. We stayed for Cheltenham festival and although it is 40mins drive away we would definitely stay for that reason again as its just so lovely. Libby is also fantastic host with great communication. We will be back again next year.

The Barn, sits in the gardens of Bridge House in the historic town of Lechlade, gateway to the Cotswolds. Whilst the interior has been modernised to provide luxurious accommodation, it still retains much of it's period charm and character.
The Barn sleeps 6 people and comprises 1 double bedroom and 1 family room which sleeps 4. There is a bathroom with power shower, wc and basin. Downstairs the open plan kitchen/dining area is perfect for a relaxed breakfast or a romantic dinner. The light and airy sitting room looks out through white wooden shutters onto the beautiful garden. 2 large sofas provide a comfortable setting for relaxing whether you're chatting with friends or watching TV and there is a piano for our more musical guests.
The bustling market town of Lechlade-on-Thames sits on the southern edge of the Cotswolds and is named after the River Leach which joins the Thames nearby. It's a favourite mooring spot for river boats and a popular location for fishermen. There are several pubs, restaurants and antique shops to visit in the town as well as the famous Christmas shop. There is a plethora of walks, not just along the banks of the Thames but around the lakes and surrounding countryside. It's a wonderful place from which to explore the nearby towns and villages and discover the beauty of the Cotswolds.
  • Lovely, gorgeous home. 5 adult females had a lovely weekend break at the Barn!

    Lianne2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn really was the perfect place for a chilled girly weekend. Deborahs home is so beautiful and has everything you need! Being a gated property with a lovely garden area, meant you truly felt secluded, despite only being a few minute walk from the town. Deborah had made so many lovely personal touches that were very much appreciated. We were so close to many attractions. We will definitely all be visiting The Barn again.

    Chlöe2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

This is a very special welcome and airy home located on 2 1/2 acres in a small Cotswold village. The house a perfect country retreat, beautifully presented and stylish with large, spacious rooms. The house is a perfect space for relaxing or entertaining friends, simply nothing but perfection!
The house is the perfect country retreat. The downstairs rooms are all communal which makes the house ideal for entertaining or just 'hanging out'. The house features a large, modern open communal space which includes a double-height reception area (around a large stone fireplace), kitchen. A second reception room which is decorated more traditionally, perfect for evenings with a fire lit and a film on the projector screen. A cozy study off the second reception room includes a fireplace. Five double bedrooms include a large master bedroom and second VIP guest bedroom. Underfloor heating throughout the house with oak floors in the reception areas. This is an excellent holiday cottage in every respect, perfect for a large family or for two or three couples with kids who fancy a home for a 'proper' holiday or equally for a short weekend trip to the Cotswolds. ACCOMODATION Welcoming entrance hall with double-height ceiling. Off the entrance hall is the most wonderful boot room which doubles as a guest loo, so inviting you might just decide to spend your holiday in the loo! Main reception room is a gorgeous space decorated in muted colours around a large stone fireplace. This room has large windows with lots of light and is open to the dining space and kitchen, offering modern use of the large space. The large dining table, which seats up to 18 people, lives between the main reception area and the open kitchen. True to its name, Garden House is filled with lots of plants and flowers, and the dining space doubles as a conservatory, opening onto a large pond filled with koi! The kitchen is a delightful space which makes meal-preparation a fun group activity. The best part is a traditional wood oven perfect for pizza night! The master bedroom is on the second floor above the communal space, with an extra-large king bed and private terrace, bathroom with large shower and separate traditional bathtub, and large walk-in closet. The second reception room is decorated more traditionally, with a lovely wood burning stove and movie projector and screen which drop down for the ceiling. Connected to SKY and AppleTV, this room is perfect for a film after a lovely evening meal. The study is a cozy space decorated with loads of books and comfy furniture. Light the fire and tuck into your book! The first floor features two further en suite bedrooms. One in particular is large, I call it the VIP guest bedroom, and is perfect for a second couple. Frankly you may well find the VIP guest bedroom, with its queen four poster bed, even more inviting than the master bedroom. The VIP guest bathroom is large, with a walk-in shower and separate traditional bathtub. The third guest bedroom on this level, with a double bed, is a lovely room, with an en suite bathroom. The fourth and fifth bedrooms are in the loft, sharing a private bathroom off the landing. Each with a double bed, these bedrooms are not as special as the others but is perfect for a couple of kids, single adults or couples that are not fussy.
Location. Little Faringdon is a charming Cotswold village (20 cottages only), with the village church across the road from the house. Little Faringdon has lots of fun and interesting characters, though is a quiet village and Garden House benefits from lots of privacy. The village is located just 3 miles outside of Lechlade and 10 miles from Burford, both of which have lots of shops. The house is 5 miles from the Cotswolds Wildlife Park which kids of all ages love. Pubs. There are several wonderful pubs locally, and in particular I would recommend the Plough in Kelmscott, the Five Alls in Filkins, The Bell in Langford and the Swan in Southrop. The Ox Barn at Thyme Manor in Southrop is an excellent restaurant and bar which uses seasonal ingredients locally sourced (warning: expect London prices). All recommendations are within a 5 minute drive from Garden House and with wonderful food and atmosphere! Advance reservations are strongly recommended on weekends. Provisions. Ocado will deliver to the house, although I encourage guests to shop locally in nearby Lechlade where there are grocery stores (Londis and Co-op), an excellent butcher (Cutler & Bayliss), and a knowledgable wine merchant (Vin-Est). Nearby Burford also has a wonderful selection of stores for provisions. Shopping locally supports our community and is a part of the pleasure of being in the countryside.
  • Jeff's beautiful home was perfect for our family celebration. We had a fantastic stay, feeling very cosy inside with a storm raging against the windows! Loved the pizza oven and open fire. You won't be disappointed!

    Lorna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A truly wonderful place to stay. We stayed with extended family for my mother’s 70th birthday and it was perfect. Great family meals and relaxing by the many fireplaces. Jeff’s tips for the area were very good - smoked eel from Upton Smokery was excellent!

    Jenny2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A magical, memorable, magnificent weekend away with family and friends for my mother's 80th birthday. It was terrific to be able to have the (once-in-a-lifetime for us all, I would imagine!) opportunity to stay in a place as stunning as this. The adults loved the house and fabulous, interesting art and decorations, the kids loved the chickens (we got quite a decent haul of eggs!) and the projector tv. Thank you Jeff for choosing to AirBnb'ing your home like this, it was an experience we will never forget!

    Georgina2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Jeff’s place. The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks even better than in the pictures. The property is in an excellent location (car recommended) and has all the amenities you could possibly require. Jeff’s area-specific recommendations were amazing. Would highly recommend the property and definitely hope to stay there again soon!

  • The house is beautiful and full of character inside. We felt like we were treasured friends rather than paying guests. The house was full of home comforts and fascinating objects to look at. Jeff was very generous at providing lots of different types of teas, coffees, jams etc and we felt rather honoured that he entrusted his home to us. Shirley the housekeeper welcomed us on arrival, showed us around the house and explained how certain things worked eg the projector, heating, wifi. I highly recommend a visit and would certainly like to go back there.

    Tracey2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is probably the most beautiful place we have ever stayed! Everywhere you look is perfection and the amenities are fantastic! This is the perfect place for almost any occasion where you would like it to be both special and memorable. Excellent communication with Jeff and Shirley. We had such a relaxing stay and truly hope we can visit again in the future! Thanks Jeff.

  • Sarah is a wonderful host, very attentive and helpful. Lovely accommodation, cosy and comfortable. Really homely feel and beautiful location. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • The Cotswolds at its best. A beautiful well presented and proportioned cottage bursting with homely touches to enhance your experience from arrival. Within short reach of lovely Burford high street.

  • The perfect weekend getaway. A birthday weekend for a group of 7 girls. The cottage itself is stunning and Sarah makes a lot of effort with the little details. The kitchen is very well equipped and we were welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine, some milk and orange juice! The little touches make a difference! Sara responded very quickly to any queries and gave us recommendations for local eateries and walks. Rose Cottage felt like a 5* hotel, beds were so comfy and spacious. The perfect place for walks to the local pub and cosy nights in on the sofa in front of the fire. We will definitely be back!

    Lydia2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was a great host, very responsive and accommodated all our needs. The cottage is lovely and perfect for a family stay. Well equipped and the log fire was just lovely. Would highly recommend.

    Rachel2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy but spacious cottage (we were 5 adults) surrounded by beautiful Cotswolds countryside. We loved the log burner (we bought a generous bag of extra logs) and found the place well equipped - we happily cooked a roast for Christmas dinner. Comfortable and quiet at night with most bedrooms having nice thick curtains. Only minor quibble was it would have been nice to be able to regulate the heating more ourselves as we sometimes found it too hot or too cold, but overall I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rose Cottage!

    Ellis2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place was clean and tidy, with everything you need. Plenty of space in the living and dining areas for us (a group of 7), and in a lovely little village. Sarah was speedy at answering questions and even provided milk, orange juice and a bottle of wine! The perfect getaway.

    Beth2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's cottage is really spacious but cosy. All the rooms were really clean, well appointed and laid out. The kitchen is really well equipped too which is helpful if you decide to cook a meal in. We really enjoyed that there were some pretty Christmas decorations as it helped make our break feel very festive :-) Would recommended

We took a puppy with us and had no problems at all, the garden is very secure and Piers has a very friendly young dog also! The area is quiet and calm but has some nice walking routes and a local pub that serves amazing food. Overall a really lovely stay.

We have a lovely private suite of rooms with double bedroom (with king size bed), shower room and sitting room on the ground floor of our family home. We live in a beautiful Grade II listed converted barn in the village of Alvescot, West Oxfordshire.
Located on the ground floor of Priory Barn. A very private suite of rooms to include one bedroom with king size bed, separate shower room with basin and loo and sitting room. The shower room is on the small size but does have an excellent shower! The sitting room has a large TV with freeview sofa coffee making facilities.
Things to Do and See (here are just a few suggestions!) We are 5 miles from the picturesque town of Burford, 4 miles from Lechlade on Thames and 3 miles from Bampton (where many scenes from the TV drama Downton Abbey, were filmed). There is a wonderful garden centre in Burford (Burford Garden Company), many nearby beautiful gardens/stately homes and old manor houses (Friar’s Court, Kelmscott Manor, Buscot Park, Blenheim Palace etc). There are also lots of stunning walks along the Thames and of course right on our own doorstep we have miles of countryside. Please do just ask us for further information and directions. If you are out on a local walk – look out for Gary Barlow (of the boy band Take That!) and family – they have a house in our village! Eating Out – we are spoilt for choice; The local village pub, The Plough serves lovely pub food and is a short 5 minute walk away. Other good pubs in neighbouring villages are: The Bell in Langford (booking strongly advised) The Five Alls in Filkins The Plough in Clanfield The Plough in Kelmscott The Lamb in Burford The Trout at Tadpole Bridge near Buckland There is an excellent Spanish Tapas bar/restaurant in Faringdon called La Bobina. One of our favourite’s! The Snooty Meehan on the A420 near Buckland does great Indian and Thai food. Plus many more we can recommend, please just ask. There are various take away restaurants (Chinese/Indian/Fish and Chips/Domino’s Pizzas) – please just ask for menus/details. The nearest town for supermarkets/chemist is Carterton (2 miles away). A little further away is Oxford, Cheltenham and Bicester Outlet Village. Nearest Cinema is in Witney Excellent local taxi company is Charlie’s (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) (the postcode is OX18 2QA however, you must state near Oakey Close as the SatNav tends to take you to the other end of the village!) Other things to note We have a working cocker spaniel called Binky - she is very friendly, great with other dogs and young children
  • Really great place, lovely area, and Piers was great when we booked last minute. Really recommend

  • A wonderful spot to dry off after a long day exploring Oxford in the rain ;) The Barn was lovely- clean, homey, and welcoming. Light breakfast and coffee/tea were perfect and greatly appreciated. We used Pier's place as a base to explore Oxford and the Cotswolds and it was an excellent choice. We'd recommend it to anyone and hope to stay again.

    Jenny2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Piers is a fantastic host! Great Communication and plenty of suggestions on things to do in the local area; we personally had great meal at an Indian/Thai restaurant called the Snooty Mehmaan. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable, we will be back for sure! Piers house is gorgeous!

  • What a gem of an Air Bnb! The bed is super comfy, the shower a delight and the overall space ideal for a stay in the Cotswolds. It felt very private even though it's a joined to the main house. The local pub (The Plough, which is only a few minutes walk away) was the perfect haunt for an evening meal and a few drinks. Both Piers and the lovely Doggo provided us with the warmest of welcomes! Thanks again : )

Off-street parking for two cars is available on the shared driveway and further on-street parking is readily available at the front of the property.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
  • We booked a wonderful 3 night stay and was not disappointed. Claire out host communicated excellently. Beautiful location and stylish and spacious accommodation. The beds were so comfortable that we all slept so well. After long country walks it was fabulous to be able relax in the lounge with a roaring fire. The board games were a wonderful bonus and a fair few hours were spent around the kitchen table in competitive mode. Highly recommend Dunford Barn and will definitely be returning.

  • We all thoroughly enjoyed our short stay (family reunion) at Dunford Barn. It was the perfect ‘home from home’ having been beautifully & tastefully renovated only last year. We found it extremely comfortable, cosy & well-equipped. Claire is a fantastic host & so responsive to any query, no matter how small. We would definitely stay again & strongly recommend it to other visitors as the perfect base from which to explore the wonderful Cotswolds.

    Anita2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house was large, well decorated and spotlessly clean! There was more than enough space for a group of 10 adults, and the kitchen was well equipped. Met in person at the house and I felt that we could easily contact Claire if we needed to (although the instructions were very clear so it wasn't needed!) Thanks!

  • What an amazing space. I felt incredibly relaxed, safe and cosy staying here. Rebecca is an excellent host and helped whenever needed. The bed and pillows are so comfortable and under floor heating just makes it that more dreamy. Outstanding value for money I believe for what you get. A private safe courtyard, own entrance, beautiful big bedroom/lounge area in a tranquil little village? Would love to return in summer. Thank you

  • Without a doubt, the most beautiful air bnb in Great Britain! The pictures on the advertisement do not do it justice. The bathroom is stunning & has heated flooring, the towels were extra fluffy, the carpet in the living area was immaculate, the interior decoration was stylish & modern, yet very country & cosy at the same time. The place is fully equipped with shampoos, shower gels, moisturisers, make up remover pads etc so if you’re the type of person who wants to go places with hand luggage only, this air bnb is for you. The host couldn’t of been more fantastic, pure British hospitality at every moment. Wish I could have stayed for longer, 100% would recommend this air bnb! Absolute perfection!

    Jes2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca was a wonderful host and was very open and welcoming and has a great knowledge of the local area. Not only is the property itself beautiful, but the location is fantastic, private, and very picturesque. Would have loved to stay longer and look forward to coming back in the future.

  • Our stay was unfortunately only one night, but we wish we could have stayed forever! Everything about The Granary was superb. The room is vary spaces and open, as well as being self contained. The bed, carpet and under floor heating meant that our stay was extremely relaxing and comfortable. There is a small sofa to watch TV which is Netflix equipped. And there is also a small dining table with 2 chairs, obviously for eating at. There was plenty of teas to chose from as well as a section of cereals. Plenty of cutlery is also available in the draws. Outside the room there is a utility room that you are able to use, and this contains a fridge, sink and microwave. We will be back!

Entire home suitable for up to 4 people. Located in a Cotswold village with endless rural walks from the doorstep. New for 2020, a luxury Finnish Sauna ( optional extra ). Garden with 2 separate seating areas and brick built BBQ. Field opposite, home to our goats and hens. Private parking adjoining cottage, bustling village pub a stroll along the lane. Many local attractions. A perfect setting for a relaxing retreat.
Beautifully renovated in characterful Cotswolds style. The Cottage has a large living room with separate kitchen and separate conservatory used for dining. It is a cosy space but yet big enough to feel relaxed as a group. A new 3/4 person luxury Finnish sauna is an optional extra.
The village of Alvescot is quintessentially English. It has a lovely local pub serving good food and beer (we recommend to book beforehand) and a church. In the village there is also a large, safe playground for children and a tennis court. The cottage is located next to a farm and stables. It is just lovely to walk out and enjoy the countryside. The popular town of Burford is just a 10 minute drive away. Here there is lots to see and lots to do.
  • Dominic and his parents were great hosts. The extra touches, like the welcome breakfast were very thoughtful and much appreciated by me and my family, we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend!

    Lorraine2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with my partner and our one year old daughter, my mum and sister. It was very cosy and relaxing - a lovely place to escape the dreary Feb weather. We took full advantage of the amazing sauna. Although the weather wasn't good enough for much exploring we made it to the Plough for dinner, which we really enjoyed. The village and countryside is very pretty so I could easily have spent a couple more days there. In summer I can imagine the garden is a lovely place to spend time with friends and family. The facilities were great with a well equipped kitchen and lots of cosy blankets to snuggle up in the living room. I liked the dining room setup, which is in the conservatory so very light and airy. The heating kept the place nice and warm. Thanks again for a lovely weekend! Amy

    Amy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage with everything you could wish for. Definitely worth paying the extra for the fabulous sauna! It's like a private spa in the countryside. The kitchen was well kitted out and it felt like a home from home. The only disappointment was having to go home.

    Claire2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautifully presented, decorate and furnished to a high standard, wonderfully clean and has all the amenities you need and more. The welcome breakfast made a lovely family breakfast on our first morning with a big selection of teas and coffees etc provided as well. The cottage is within driving distance of all our favourite Cotswolds villages and we also visiting the Cotswold wildlife park and gardens, which was a lovely day out. The village pub is great- child friendly, warm and welcoming. Highly recommended, I’m sure we will be back.

  • Dominic is a wonderful host. His father Peter who helps manage the property was a great help. We arrived late in the night and it can be a little tricky to find the cottage. He came out to road to ensure we could find our way. The cottage itself has a wonderful feeling of home, with many authentic touches, and several great books and maps of the region. They greeted us with free range eggs which was a thoughtful touch. We thoroughly enjoyed the private garden with wonderful sunlight in the mornings. Several major supermarkets are also conveniently 5 mins driving away and there is local pub/restaurant with very friendly staff. Overall a great 2 days.

Surrounded by nothing but acres of fields filled with wildlife, College Farm Cottage is a charming 18th Century child- and dog-friendly* property, sleeping 3 guests in 2 bed-rooms with 1 bathroom. A short drive from the Cotswold towns of Burford and Lechlade, College Farm Cottage is perfect for guests seeking open space and tranquillity, with plenty of walking routes quite literally on your doorstep.
*Dogs: Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at the cottage at an additional cost of £30 per dog. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog(s) and we will then revise your booking confirmation. Introduction Low hedges, acres of flat green fields and an abundance of wildlife – these are the scenes that will greet you as you head towards College Farm Cottage. Situated on the expansive Bradwell Grove Estate, home to the Cotswold Wildlife Park, it’s hard to im-agine that you are only a few miles from Burford and Lechlade. As you make your way along the open fence-less lanes, you will almost feel as though you’re driving through the middle of the fields. Once you have arrived at the end of the farm track, you will find a delightful cottage with plenty of character – if you’re visiting in the summer months, you’ll even get to appreciate College Farm Cottage in all of its beautiful Wiste-ria–covered glory. College farm was built in 1771 by Trinity College of the University of Oxford for the use of tenant farmers as a source of additional income for the college. A working farm up until recent years, College Farm is now owned by the Bradwell Grove Estate, home to the nearby Cotswold Wildlife Park that exhibits over 260 different species of ani-mals – on a quiet day you may even be able to hear the lions roaring from the cottage! Although College Farm is no longer a working farm, it is surrounded by mainly arable farmland, all of which is organic. With a strong emphasis on conservation around the estate, there is plenty of wildlife to observe, from ground nesting birds to deer. You only have to step outside of the door at College Farm Cottage and you are right in the heart of unspoilt countryside, with bridle paths and walking routes running alongside the farmyard. Inside, the cottage is a lovely mix of traditional and new. The original flagstone flooring and woodburner add a touch of rustic charm, while there’s a new JVC Smart TV for guest use. Benefitting from a bright and airy feeling throughout, the cottage is decorat-ed in neutral tones, accented by quirky pops of colour and unique pieces of art and furniture. The back door opens out into a garden, while the windows boast views of nothing but green fields and the historic farmyard buildings. If you’re looking for peace, tranquillity and open starry skies, you’ve come to the right place. Despite its rural location, College Farm Cottage is just a 5-10 minute drive from the beautiful market town of Burford, where you will find artisan boutiques, cosy cafés, and interesting pubs. Walk to the top of the High Street and look back down the hill to enjoy one of the most exquisite views in the Cotswolds – and perhaps the finest ‘streetscape’ in England! Full Description Ground Floor Enter through the front door straight into the… Sitting Room A bright and spacious living space, the Sitting Room has a wonderful quintessential country cottage feel to it. Painted in fresh cream and white tones, the room has a cosy feel thanks to a corner lamp and its central feature, the woodburning stove. The Sitting Room boasts some beautiful pieces of furniture and artwork, adding eccentric and colourful highlights to a lovely relaxing room. There is a JVC Smart TV for guests to use, as well as a selection of books and games on the built-in shelves next to the fireplace. The WIFI router can be found in the Sitting Room window. To the left of the entrance to the Kitchen there is a latched cupboard. In here you will find an ironing board, iron, high chair, clothes airer and a mop & bucket. Through the door into the… Kitchen A well-equipped and pretty room, the Kitchen has a table and seating for 3 guests. En-joy breakfast looking out through the mustard yellow linen curtained window into the farmyard and fields beyond. There is a door leading from the Kitchen into the garden to the rear of the cottage. Through the Sitting Room and up the stairs. Please take care on the stairs as they are very steep and narrow. With a comfortable king size bed and its own washbasin, guests staying in the Master Bedroom will appreciate the generous storage space provided by the built-in shelved wardrobe (where the travel cot is stored) and chest of drawers, as well as the beautiful views over the farmyard and fields. The cupboard next to the bed contains the water heater. Turn right into the… Single Bedroom Perfect for children, this compact single bedroom has plenty of storage thanks to the inbuilt wardrobe, and a comfortable single bed right next to the window overlooking the farmyard and fields beyond. Turn right into the… Family Bathroom The bathroom offers guests a bath with a fixed overhead shower, toilet and washbasin with one of the loveliest views in the cottage! Outside The garden of College Farm Cottage can be accessed via the back door from the Kitch-en. A great space for children to play or to even enjoy a BBQ or drink in the sun, the private garden is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the country-side, except for maybe the occasional lion roar…
Benefitting from the best of both worlds, College Farm Cottage enjoys a secluded location but is also the perfect location for exploring Burford and the wider Cotswolds. Please see the framed OS map in the sitting room where College Farm sits exactly cen-trally. In just a 5-10 minute drive you will find yourself on the High Street of Burford, a stunning medieval market town with plenty to offer. The excellent Co-operative su-permarket on the High Street stocks all immediate shopping requirements and is open 7am – 10pm every day of the week. There is also a Co-operative supermarket in Lech-lade, a 5-10 minute drive in the opposite direction to Burford, open 8am-8pm every day. There are some great cafés in Burford. Head towards the historic church and you will discover the newly built Warwick Hall and café, ideal for a morning coffee and snacks. Another good spot for a reviving cup of coffee or tea is Lynwood & Co on the High Street, where you can also buy delicious local artisan-made Sourdough bread and of course the famous Huffkins tea shop. If you find yourself parking in the main car park for Burford near the church (free parking) you will cross the mill-race connecting to the charming River Windrush that meanders through the Cotswolds, a lovely spot to feed the ducks and swans! Burford used to be a major coaching town between London and the West Country and was home to 35 coaching inns! The town still retains 13 pubs, of which some favour-ites are The Angel, a very good gastropub, The Highway and The Lamb on Sheep Street. There’s also a great variety of specialist shops to explore – including Maggie White and the fascinating Tolsey Museum. Alternatively, The Victoria in Eastleach, a very pretty Cotswold village nearby, is about an hour walk from the cottage and is a wonderful pub with good food, recommended by Emma and William. Also highly recommended - The Five Alls in Filkins and The Bell in Langford, both excellent pubs. All are popular so booking is essential. Around 5 miles south of the cottage, you will find Lechlade-on-Thames, a small historic town on the Thames, from which London could be reached by boat. With plenty of walks, a thriving market square, pubs, cafes and antique shops, Lechlade is slightly off the beaten tourist track compared to Burford and makes for a great day out. Here you will find a fantastic butcher, Cutler & Bayliss, selling high quality meat, cheese, fresh vegetables and bread as well as another Lynwood & Co café. If you fancy exploring a bit further afield, the beautiful ancient Roman market town of Cirencester is about 10 miles south and also there’s Witney which is an easy 11-mile drive east towards Oxford. Like Cirencester it has a great array of high street shops, larger supermarkets such as M&S, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, eateries and a modern cinema complex. Also, around 15 miles away is the renowned Daylesford Organic Farm in Kingham, a farm complex that offers a farm shop, restaurant, spa as well as other activities such as farm tours and cooking courses. See the Burford Guidebook for further information.

We had everything we needed, with friendly neighbours who donated a few garlic cloves we’d forgotten. Fantastic for long or short cotswold walks or strolling around all the local villages and towns with cafe’s and antique shops etc. Great food at the pub next door too. Thank you Nadine.

  • A lovely cottage in a great location. Very stylishly appointed, spotless and homely. We had a couple of queries, and Nadine always answered immediately. Good pub/food recommendation of the village pub, the Plough Inn. And also the Five Alls in the next village.

  • Jasmine Cottage is the quintessential English cottage, impeccably decorated and ideally located for exploring the nearby Cotswolds. The garden area is the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing, and the sitting room is quaint and cozy – unfortunately it did not cool off enough to enjoy the wood fireplace. We thoroughly enjoyed our week’s stay here.

  • We loved our stay at the cottage- it’s a beautiful home and very stylish. • This is the most beautifully decorated, sparkling clean and furnished accommodation you could possibly wish for. Very tranquil, you are assured of a good night's sleep in a super comfy bed. The garden is lovely for dogs, Hannah and Nick amazingly welcoming but not intrusive. There are some really lovely touches to make you feel completely at home the instant you walk into the house. I'll briefly mention the shower....just come to experience the best shower you will ever go in! I arrived at the start of the Coronovirus issue having just completed on the sale of my house. Uncertain times in so many ways for me. Hannah and Nick have bent over backwards to help me out whilst my little world fell apart. I'm looking forward to another 4 weeks here - it really is a home from home.

The Little Barn is in the heart of Clanfield which has a beautiful bakery and post office, a wonderful traditional country pub with great pub-grub and a hotel with restaurant and outstanding gin pantry! We have immediate access to a wide range of wonderful country footpaths, and we're about a mile from the famous Thames Path. • 10 out of 10, we loved our stay. The little barn is very cozy. Mary took care of us and gave fantastic local recommendations.

    Christian2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay just over an hour from London - Mary's gorgeous converted barn is the perfect place for a couple seeking some solitude away from the hustle and bustle. Mary was an incredible host (despite not being in the country, she responded to any message within minutes, organised an easy check in & even baked a cake for our arrival). The location of the property is wonderful - a 2 minute walk from the local pub (fantastic food!), and right on the doorstep of the Cotswolds, where you can get to most towns within a 1/2 hour. Highly recommend !

    Sadie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend tucked up in the cosy barn (even with rainy weather!). Great space, all the amenities you need. We were hoping to get out on a few nature walks but with very rainy weather we weren’t able to, despite the weather we had a very relaxing weekend with the fire heater on and cosied up with some lovely cake made so kindly by Mary. Mary was a lovely host, met us at the door and welcomed us into the barn to show us how everything worked. She pointed out some helpful maps she had left and the guide for the barn which was super helpful. She also left some lovely valentines chocolate, special touches like that made all the difference for us. And the milk in the fridge was very welcome after a long journey there! The barn looks out onto the garden and fields in the distance which made us feel away from the busy-ness of life! It’s a good location to explore some of countryside and the pub really is just a few meters up the road! We were really looking for a weekend away just to relax and take it easy, and that’s exactly what we had. We’re now back feeling very relaxed and well rested! Thanks so much.

  • This space is incredibly lovely. My husband and I visited for my birthday and got rained in by a winter storm- I couldn’t have hoped for a cosier place to be! A lovely faux stove, cozy couch, and gorgeous beam infrastructure- we had a delightful time. Highly recommended!

  • Stayed for two nights in the barn with my fianceé. It was comfortable, private and larger than expected. Don't go expecting to be able to cook anything fancy, but the basics are all there. WiFi was brilliant, heating was great. Mary's communication was also fantastic. Highly recommended!

The Granary is part of The Great Barns at Macaroni Farm which were built in the 1700's. Macaroni Farm is a family run, organic farm situated in the heart of the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Guests staying here can enjoy the many footpaths, and walk across fields to the historic village of Eastleach. The Granary is a beautifully authentic barn conversion which retains the feel of the original grain store it once was, with exposed beams, stone and stable dividers upstairs.
The ground floor consists of a large, stone floored open plan living room/kitchen, with electric wood burner. The entrance hall is spacious with a WC under the stairs, that leads up to the bathroom, twin room , and master bedroom. All beds are comfortable Loaf beds. The master bedroom has a super king size bed and its' own WC and basin. Guests would need to walk through the twin to get to the master room, which could also be used as a dressing room for couples who wished to stay.
The historic village of Eastleach is a short walk across the fields from The Granary which also boasts the very popular 'Queen Victoria' pub. We are on the edge of the Coln Valley famous for its' beautiful walks. There are 5 wonderful pubs within a 10 minute radius of the farm, while the villages of Bibury, Burford, Fairford, Lechlade and Cirencester are close by and easy to explore from us. Fairford and Lechlade both have a 'Lynwoods' café which are infamous for their delicious coffee, sourdough and breakfasts.
  • A beautifully appointed barn conversion. A really special place to stay.

  • Very comfortable stay with our toddler. Lovely place to stay. Modern and spacious. Liza was very accomodating and great at responding to messages. She kindly left us some milk, eggs and crossaints to start off our stay. Beds were very comfortable. Thanks for a lovely little break.

  • The Granary is an absolute gem. My friends and I had an amazingly peaceful time at the cottage for our get away. It is very quiet but also only a few minutes drive away from the classic charming villages of Cotswolds with good pubs around, offers beautiful walks and Liza the host was so quick to respond (we didn’t have the bin liners), you would never feel too far away. The place is spacious, tastefully decorated and sparkling clean. And the beds are super comfortable with the amazing down duvets that makes you feel like you’re floating in the clouds. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

    Tania2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible stay at The Granary. It’s the perfect location for a weekend getaway in the country with beautiful walks, pubs and the English countryside right on its doorstep. Liza was so helpful at recommending local attractions and her attention to detail in the house is amazing. We will definitely be coming back!!

    Victoria2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, the Cotswolds are amazing, its absolutely stunning here. It is beautiful English Countryside in the forest. It was exactly what I was hoping to see. Beautiful home in a beautiful location, near cute medieval villages, and even palaces not too far away. We went as a family, and spent a day shopping in near by Burford, and Bourton on the Water, and visiting Blenheim Palace. The home is neat and well equipped, with oodles of space. Its styled well and lit well through out, with very good black out curtains on the sleeping floor. Bathrooms a plenty (such an awesome luxury.) We only spent 2 nights at The Granary but we would've happily have stayed for 2 weeks or more. There was so much to see and do in the area. The home has excellent wifi, and a washing machine that also can dry. The only small negative is its under a flight path, planes fly by quite frequently but do eventually stop overnight. I would recommend staying here to anyone. Its an absolutely amazing Airbnb, and worth every penny. I loved it.

A spacious one bedroom annexe with its own kitchen and shower room. Relax on the comfy sofa or enjoy your meals at the dining table. Fully equipped for short or longer stays.
The former Apple store has been newly updated to provide a wonderful space with a kitchenette, shower room and large, comfortable bedroom area overlooking the front lawn of the property. Situated in a rural location, yet close to local amenities, the site offers great privacy.
  • Lovely quiet stay in beautiful surroundings.

  • Gus was so helpful and was excellent at replying promptly to messages . The Apple Store was ideally situated for us whilst visiting family and is in a lovely , quiet location attached to Gus’s farmhouse. It is warm, comfortable and an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds and nearby towns.

  • Very nice place with the middle of the nature.... I can highly recommend ... we may come back soon

    Jordi2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay. Large room with exquisite decoration. Very comfortable stay and highly recommended. Since the accommodation has no address in the countryside, the location marked by the homeowner is actually another road, plus the homeowner is not very easy to point the way. It took me half an hour to find the place, and I have been suggested to the owner to add a GPS location. This makes it easy to find. The water heater stopped working three times, and the owner said to find someone to check it.

    Simon2020-03-06T00:00:00Z

This 'Picture Postcard' Cotswold cottage is quietly situated within a few minutes walk of Lechlade-on-Thames town centre’s pubs, restaurants and shops and is ideally situated for exploring the delights of the Cotswolds. The property is blessed with a wealth of character and has been beautifully restored. Although very close to the Town Centre, this cottage is remarkably peaceful. The cottage is accessed by a footpath and is approximately 20 yards off Sherborne Street.
The open plan living space has its original flagstone floors, exposed ceiling beams and a cosy wood burning stove. A supply of firewood will be provided. Within the reception space lies the well-appointed kitchen with built-in appliances including cooker/hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge etc. A good amount of larder supplies will be provided as well as all crockery, cutlery and glassware etc. The lounge area is also well appointed with Freeview TV, DVD player, WiFi router, radio etc. There are a selection of DVD's, books and games provided. This building has electricity and water supply. It also has its own toilet. The cottage is located on a No Through Road and is accessed via a footpath. Very quiet and peaceful despite being just minutes walk from the town centre. Parking is on street, safe and only yards from the front door.
Lechlade and the surrounding area has so much to offer visitors. It is ideally located in the South of the Cotswolds. For the more active amongst us, there are plenty of walking trails of varying difficultly, as well as cycle routes. Lechlade is on the bank of the Thames which provides plenty of other activities such as Boat hire which can be arranged from The Trout Inn which is only about a mile on the Faringdon Road. A little way down the river towards Buscot, you will find St Johns Lock which is the first lock on the Thames. Stay here a while and watch the boats navigate through the lock. Lechlade is served by plenty of Pubs and Restaurants such as the Riverside which is located just beyond the famous Halfpenny Bridge. The local Fish & Chip shop is again just a couple of minutes walk from the cottage. There are also Chinese and Indian restaurants as well as Cafe's. If you're after a more leisurely holiday, there are grand open homes to visit such as Kelmscott Manor and Buscot House or you may choose to visit the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust for a spot of birdwatching or catching a glimpse of other wildlife. For big and small children alike, The Cotswold Wildlife Park is just 6 miles along the road to Burford. This is a fantastic dayout for all the family and is a must see whilst you are in the area. If fishing is your thing, the Lechlade Trout Fishery provides rod hire & river fishing. They are located on the edge of town on the Burford Road. There is also a broad mix of shops in the town from the renowned Christmas Shop through to Antiques. Plumtree Cottage is just a couple of minutes walk from the local Londis where you will find all of the essentials that you will need during your stay. You will also find a Butcher and Grocer a couple of minutes away. Other major centres which are within easy reach of Lechlade by car are Burford - 11 minutes, Cirencester (The Capital of the Cotswolds) - 25 minutes, Swindon - 30 minutes and Oxford - 40 minutes.
  • This cottage was far better than expected. Quaint and cozy, it is the perfect place to stay. The hosts are very good at communication and the Welcome basket was a real treat. I would recommend this Airbnb without hesitation.

  • Celia has a lovely house in a charming village convenient to Oxford and wonderfully charming villages and towns. She'll help you find great places to eat and visit, including writing out a great tour of Oxford (which she tailors to your interests). She makes a scrumptious breakfast every morning and has a fire going to relax by on cold evenings. I had a lovely stay and hated to leave. Thanks for sharing your home, and your sweet dogs, with me during my visit.

  • Celia has a ton of good info on the area, it was a delight to stay at her lovely countryside home.

    Meridith2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • I was very happy to find Celia’s place and she was a lovely host. I will be back for sure to explore the walks next time as I was on a flying visit on this occasion. You couldn’t fault Celia’s approach to hospitality and her house was even prettier than in the pictures. Until next time!

  • Wow! Amazing stay, such a lovely home and Celia is so friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again 5*

    Stefan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very old house in a wonderful location. It shows its age but Celia, the hostess, is marvelous. Don’t expect modern plumbing and the shower was dodgy for me but I had a nice bath instead. The breakfast I had was five star; would have cost 30£ in a London hotel. I would happily return and hope I have the chance someday.

    David And Betsy2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The highlight of my UK trip without doubt is staying with Celia. Her local knowledge and tips were valued and always on the money, the house has a marvellous history, the dogs were delightful, her culinary skills are to die for. Just the perfect base to use for my daily walks along the Thames path. I’ll miss it, the lovely village and hope to return one day.

  • Lisa met us upon arrival and was very helpful! Managed to catch Jeremy when checking out who was also lovely! Great little get away from the city. Would love to come back when the weather is a little kinder!

  • I stayed with my family for one night in the converted waggon and we thoroughly loved our stay! The accommodation is really comfy and we especially liked that there was a wood burner. Jeremy and Lisa are very friendly hosts. I'd definitely recommend this!

  • Jeremy met us for the check in and was really friendly, gave us all the information about the hut. It was toasty warm with the log burner despite it been chilly outside. We had a really nice stay :)

  • This is a place to switch off and unwind, was just perfect to reconnect as a family! We stayed at the hideaway and family in the camp was great, hot tub at hideaway was the icing on the cake! Can’t wait to book to stay again!

    Emma2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant time in our little railway carriage. The kids loved toasting marshmallows and running wild.

    Naomi2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here, Lisa was lovely, really easy with our girls aged 7 and 5 which they liked. Hut’s surrounded by fields, it’s October/November naturally muddy and cold first thing in the morning, but the wood burning stove kept us very warm. 10 minute walk to a nice pub, nice meal, wonder back for board games with the children, perfect Nanny, mommy and 2 little ones

Summary Maisey Cottage is a charming, 200-year-old, Grade II listed Cotswold cottage, located in the tiny West Oxfordshire village of Kencot, 5 miles from Burford. It is an ideal holiday destination for up to four people, ideally two couples, sleeping across 2 double bedrooms. A beautiful old Cotswold village home, with wood burner and original features, combined with a contemporary kitchen/dining area, opening onto a covered area, family bathroom and separate shower room, plus road-side parking for 2-3 cars and a secluded garden. It is the perfect cottage and location from which to explore the Cotswolds by car, on foot or on a bicycle. Introduction As you drive into Kencot, you immediately feel the peaceful calm of this pretty Cotswold village, which extends all the way up and into Maisey Cottage. This typical, honey-coloured Cotswold stone property, with original leaded window panes, dates back at least 200 years and has been owned by the same family for over 100 years. Its high garden wall hides a delightful gravelled garden where guests can sit and enjoy the sound of birdsong, and very little else. Heading through Maisey Cottage’s wooden door into the walled garden, you’ll be impressed by the huge, overhanging Robina pseudoacacia tree and pretty border full of flowers and herbs. There’s space here to sit out and enjoy the surroundings and prepare a BBQ. (An electric car charging point in the garden is available to guests for a separate additional fee on a per night basis.) The heart of the cottage – the Central Hallway, Master Bedroom and Living Room - dates back over 200 years, while the new extension, with a fully equipped kitchen/dining area with underfloor heating, and second bedroom, was added in 2016. The Living Room has a wood burning stove and original flagstone flooring, made cosy with Persian rugs, while the bright and airy, contemporary kitchen/dining area is a delightful eating and entertaining space. Maisey Cottage has free, off-road parking for 2-3 cars. Kencot is a small, peaceful village in West Oxfordshire, at the centre of a triangle formed by Burford (5 miles), Lechlade (5 miles) and Witney (8 miles). Like most other villages in this area it is mainly stone-built, with several impressive 18th- and 19th-century houses. The village hall is home to a lively and active community, with events held regularly through the year. • Lovely and cosy cottage - perfect for nights lazing in front of the log burner and days exploring local villages and pubs. A 200 year old cottage which has been lovingly restored and extended, which we would thoroughly recommend.

  • We had a great time at this cottage. I was initially concerned about being on the road through the village but we heard maybe two cars a day and a few horses go past. It was far better equipped than I had expected and we slept really well in the 5 days we were there. Very helpful introduction and tour of the cottage when we arrived plus there's a useful map of the surrounding countryside and points of interest marked for easy reference.

  • This is an excellent place to stay - modern, very clean and tidy with lots of space. Ellie is a great host. She replies promptly and is very helpful. And she is very welcoming, allowing you to freely use the communal areas (kitchen, living room) without feeling awkward. There is a private bathroom just for guests - shared between two bedrooms. It has a large shower area and a bath if you wish to use it. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed and plenty space to hang your clothes. There ‘s no TV in the room though. All in all a lovely place to stay.

  • Awesome location! Walking distance from the Witney bus stop and all the Bampton Downton Abbey sites. The entire place was so clean. The bed was comfortable. Ellie was so helpful with advice for sites in and outside of Bampton.

    Britney2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie’s place is a showroom for decorating. Everything is in white with chrome hardware and very very light grey flooring. There are flowering white orchids everywhere. She had Christmas bread (with fruits) that was so delicious. The bed is firm and so comfortable. She has provided a lightweight blanket in case the duvet is too warm. We used that. The window can open for a bit of fresh air. The shampoo and conditioner are full including body wash. Her manual includes all the Downton Abbey locations in Bampton. Ellie is like a good friend and will help you whatever you need.

  • This is a fantastic place to stay in gorgeous Bamford, only a short walk from the centre of the village. Ellie was lovely - when she realised I was running late for my friend's wedding, she even offered me a lift to the church. She was very friendly and made me feel very welcome. The house was really clean and modern, and the bed was very comfortable - I had a great night's sleep!

The Pigsty has been lovingly converted into a double en suite room with TV, internet, tea and coffee. The room opens up onto a sunny, newly paved court yard with outdoor seating for you to enjoy. The private entrance via a locked gate means you can come and go as you please. Located in central Lechlade with the river Thames, open fields, pubs, restaurants and cafes on your door step. It's a vibrant and friendly market town with plenty to do!
Built circa 1805 this property was originally a pigsty and later converted in to the wash house for the cottage built around 1850. Now it's a quirky en suite room with handmade mahogany double glazed doors and windows, under floor heating, stone sink, remote controlled lighting and extractor fan and opens up onto a sunny court yard for you to enjoy. The room itself can be used as living room, bedroom or work space with the fold out futon and table, as illustrated in the photos. Note: due to limited space, toilet has a curtain instead of a door. Pigsty is located about 4 metres from my kitchen/back door
Lechlade a very social and friendly place. The terrace row where the Pigsty is situated is a throw back to 1940s living, with close neighbours and cups of tea over the garden fence. It's charming and you'll certainly live like a local and not a tourist.
  • Absolutely superb.

    Noel2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Isla’s Pigsty is the cutest most comfortable little space you can imagine. We wanted to get out of London to switch off and be in nature. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better location. The Pigsty is located in the centre of the picturesque village of Lechlade-on-Thames, with all amenities you could want in a few min walking distance, and on top of a local walking route that takes you along the Thames across local fields. Isla was super responsive so check-in was a breeze and she was on hand for any tips. Thanks Isla!
