Jennifer and Daniel are fantastic hosts and their home is beautiful and comfortable! They have everything you might need to have a relaxing, luxurious beach vacation (beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, a canoe!, and more). We spent our days bouncing between the beach, the bay, the small nearby towns, and the incredible cedar hot tub. Never before have we felt so welcome in any type of b&b. Jennifer and Daniel were easygoing and fun to hang out with. We ended up joining them to watch fireworks, look for shooting stars, walk the dogs, and hang out for the second annual Floatilla (which they have the BEST float for). We also adored their three poodles and loved that we could bring our dog along for the trip. In regards to hosts, we have been to many b&bs and Jennifer and Daniel by far have been the best we've ever stayed with! We enjoyed getting to know them over some of the best meals we've eaten. They truly are creative chefs, introducing me to a gorgeous and delicious paella! And, Jennifer even made us a cake to celebrate our five-year wedding anniversary! It was a great weekend, we miss it already, and we look forward to being able to return!

We had an excellent stay at Jennifer and Daniel's place. They have a great laid back attitude while still being very attentive to us. The house itself is beautiful and thoughtfully built (a great deal by Daniel!) in a modern beachy style. They welcomed us at the dock and prepared fantastic meals for our stay, which were thoughtful and delicious. We picked fresh herbs for snacks and iced tea. Come here to have a true Fire Island experience of both the beach and home. The room is comfortable and a good size for our stay and they had everything you need for beach and home (towels, umbrellas, chairs, etc). Also the outdoor shower, roof deck bed and hot tub were awesome. This would be our first choice for a return visit and we highly recommend anyone to book here.

Jennifer, Danny are the quintessential hostess with the mostess. We had three days of bliss at a beautiful acquainted home, a block away from the beach. Food was better than restaurant quality. Danny and Jennifer love cooking and entertaining. We had garlic infused shrimp with pasta, fresh mix salad with avocado on our first night, and home made bread by beautiful Jennifer . Second day I volunteerd to cook Sri Lankan Meal and Danny as my sous chef. There is lunch and fabulous coffee. I couldn't resist a cappuccino made by Danny and fresh bread by Jennifer before our departure. Highly recommended comfortable bedding, roof top Lounge, fresh towels, beach chairs , umbrellas must try hot tub . Finally three adorable new friends Meteror, FifiGigi and Beanie (man). Danny and Jennifer are so cool can't wait to book my next visit.

Daniel and Jennifer are extremely warm, welcoming hosts. Their home is wonderful and extremely well-equipped with whatever you might need to enjoy your Fire Island vacation. They are both incredible cooks and you will eat far better than at any hotel or restaurant. Highly recommended.

This was my second visit to Jennifer and Daniel's house This summer and as expected we loved it. The food, the hot tub, the cappuccino was all wonderful! Jennifer even made a birthday cake for my dog, who was 11 on the 27th and another delicious chocolate (human) birthday cake for my husband who's birthday was the next day. We enjoyed all the amenities of the house as well As Jennifer and Daniel's company. We look forward to returning next summer.

Jennifer picked us up from the ferry and made us feel very welcome from the minute we arrived. Together we took the short walk to the house were she gave us a small tour. The house itself is beautiful with plenty of places to relax and unwind, especially the roofdeck is worth mentioning, but we were also a big fan of the outdoor shower. The location of the house is perfect, close to the ferry, beach and bay (and supermarket). Jennifer and Daniel are super cool and relaxed people, and we also loved their three little dogs. The lunch and dinner they cooked were superb, and Jennifer even baked my girlfriend a delicious birthday cake. Nothing but praise for the Little Jumping Dog House!

Accommodating, gave us tea ️ and were generally lovely. Informative, welcoming, easy to find. Great room with lots of space, a nice shower, and a patio with a great view.

We have stayed with Sergio twice. He is a great host who makes sure you have everything you need. The house is clean, comfortable and in a great location. Next time we are on Fire Island, we will be sure to stay with Sergio.

Sergio was a fantastic host! He was very kind, considerate, extremely friendly and accommodating. The room we rented was cozy and comfortable. I really felt calm and at home. Would definitely come back again in a heartbeat!

Sergio's house in the Pines was beautiful and kept to a hotel-like standard with very clean rooms, shared spaces and amenities. Sergio was also very helpful in giving us advice on what to do and where to go, and he dropped by once in a while to check whether we needed anything at the house. The location is central in the Pines with a short walk to the beach as well as the ferries. Very convenient. Sergio was also very flexible as to our arrival time as we got in late on a Friday, much later that we had anticipated. Would definitely recommend staying here and hope to be coming back.

We had the best time at Sergios place. Fire Island is the best :) We were taken such good care of! This is the single worst AirBnB experience I have ever had. This dilapidated shanty is falling into the ocean so its floors are at about a 20 degree slant, the doors don't shut OR lock (including the outside door), the windows fall out of their sashes and the kitchen/bathroom are filthy. I'm absolutely certain that any previous reviewers giving it high praise are being dishonest. There is no way this place should be listed for rent. It feels like someone inherited this place but has no resources to maintain it because the money clearly isn't going to any upkeep or maintenance.

The atmosphere was perfect for a summer getaway. Close to the ferry, and only a short walk to the beach. Michael was a wonderful host and responded promptly.

Josh was an excellent host; the house was a beautiful oasis for us. Super private and shaded from the sun during the day and only a minute to get to the beach down a private walk. Would definitely stay there again!

Josh's place is adorable. To start, please be assured it is actually in the Pines, despite it not showing up on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps as such. It's on a private path across from Tuna Walk, about a 8-10 min walk from the harbor. The place is much bigger than we expected based on photos. Plenty of room for the six of us. There were plenty of linens and towels for all of us as well. There was a slight problem with the hot tub but Josh agreed to refund us for a night to make up for it. Josh and his assistant were always responsive to any questions or concerns we had both before, during and after our stay. I definitely recommend Josh's house!

Josh's house on Fire Island is amazing. This is my second time AirBnBing this house, and it's such a perfect place. The rooms are clean and really nicely decorated and designed, the kitchen is fully stocked with everything to make beautiful meals, the hot tub is spacious, and there are plenty of towels and sheets. Maybe the most important thing is that the house is less than a minute to walk down the private path to the beach! Josh is also very quick to respond to questions, which is really appreciated. My guests and I had the best time staying at Josh's house and I would recommend it for everyone looking for a house on Fire Island!

We felt right at home at Josh's beach house, which was very tidy and well decorated. The only issues were we had to purchase wifi for the week as there was no free network and the hot tub was having some issues heating up. However, Ingrid, Josh's assistant, was very responsive and refunded us the $30 we paid for internet access. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Josh's house was a wonderful and private retreat for me and my friends who came out to fire island from the city. Fully stocked with all appliances and everything you would need for a wonderful week on the beach. I hope to make it a early ritual with my friends to stay at Josh's majestic getaway.

This a very charming cottage with a pretty garden on a private walkway very close to the beach. It is perfect for the day time as there is plenty of shade and dappled light. Josh is a responsive host and the house is well stocked (towels, beach chairs and umbrellas, kitchen/bbq) The lights in the garden did not work but this was a minor issue which can be fixed. I would highly recommend the cottage for a lovely beach holiday! Thank you Josh.

This house is perfect for a weekend getaway! It's right on the water and is close to the ferry, which makes getting to and from the house easy. Damien is a great host and was very helpful with our many questions on getting to and from Fire Island. The property has everything you need for a relaxing weekend-- bikes, beachfront, board games, etc. We will gladly return for another weekend!

My girlfriends and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful Home for the weekend. It was nothing less than perfect. The view was impeccable and breath taking. It's what you would love to wake up too everyday. Damien was an amazing host and was always available to help me with any questions or concerns. I can't wait to go back to the island!

The best weekend ever! Damien's house is charming, comfortable and right on the waterfront, bayside, which we actually found was better than oceanside. It's close to the ferry and the dock with a grocery store, a restaurant and an ice cream kiosk within walking distance. The house was big enough for all 6 of us and had everything we needed including a lovely terrace, a roof deck, outdoor shower and bikes (great for going to the beach or exploring the island). We didn't get to meet Damien in person but we had a great e-mail conversation leading up to our stay and he was very quick and thorough to answer all our questions. We had a great stay and will definitely be back!

Our group of six friends had an amazing time on Fire Island and Damie's place was the perfect place to stay. It has a spectacular setting right on the water and is well located for everything you need on the island such as shops, beach and ferry terminal. We made good use of the supplies in the place such as bikes, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, etc. Damien was very quick to reply to any questions and I hope to return some day soon!

The house is perfectly located and nicely furnished. We spent a week with our little daughter in Ocean Bay Park and would recommend Charles house without any doubt to friends or others. Charles is a great host. Thanks a lot!

Charles was amazingly responsive and helpful the whole time. The location of the house is perfect. Short walk from the ferry. Lovely weathered wood beach house on the bay. Gorgeous views all times of day. We swam off the dock every morning and evening. The house is stocked with lots of towels, bed linen, and useful things (like beach chairs, or an umbrella for when it rained.) The beach is a very short walk as the house is located at a narrow point on the island. Charles supplies bikes but we rented a couple on our own because we wanted adjustable seats -- the bike place is a couple hundred yards from he house. 3 small bedrooms upstairs, 2 with great bay views. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of closet space. Bathrooms were fine. We used the outdoor shower, which was great. Downstairs, there's plenty of living room space for hanging out in the house. Good size deck for sunning and enjoying the bay view. Great kitchen for cooking, two small grocery stores nearby -- but also lots of restaurants to choose from in Seaview, a short walk or bike ride away. I recommend taking a water taxi to the Sunken Forest for a great day trip -- great nature walk through the forest and the beach there is beautiful and deserted.

My friends and I had a great time on Fire Island! I spoke with Charles a few days before arriving for our long weekend and he walked me through all of the important details to know if it is your first time visiting the island. He gave clear instructions on which ferry to take, how to get to the house from the ferry, where to find the key, and also offered some restaurant recommendations and allowed us access to their bikes, beach umbrellas etc. The house is really cute and is right on the bay with an amazing deck! It is a very short walk from the ferry and to the beach. We would definitely come back!

Nice apartment. Well situated, a quick walk to the beach and next to the bay. Alan is a very nice and responsive host who answered all my questions before I arrived, and also call few time to check everything was good. We had a problem with the pool. The water turned florescent green after a rain storm. Alan sent 3 sets of pool maintenance technicians to fix it. Sadly, was still bright green when we left. The pool technicians said it was an excess of iron in the water from run off from the trees. Weird. But, they were confident that they could fix it and were still their when we left. The kitchen is really really nice. Just like the pictures. Maybe better. We had a great experience and can recommend this place without hesitation. We would definately stay again!

Although I did not actually meet Alan at his house in the Pines, he kept me completely informed by email and text messages. I did meet another housemate of his, Bill out at the beach, a very nice and friendly guy who filled me in on everything else I needed to know. Alan had told me that Bill was one of their favorite quarters. Rentals in the Pines usually are sold by shares, a share of an approximately 24 week summer season. So a full share would be 1-bed for the whole 24 weeks, a half share 12 weeks, a quarter share 6 weeks. The apartment Alan created was spectacular, and looks even better than the photos, and the entire unit, on the pool level, was completely stocked with everything you could possibly need or want, especially the kitchen. I can truly say Alan's rental unit exceeded my biggest expectations, and it was a pleasure to stay in such luxurious comfort.

The poolhouse is a great way to stay in the Pines without committing to a share house. The apartment is comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped. There's a dishwasher and washer/dryer in the unit. Fresh herbs grow by the pool, including oregano and rosemary. And the pool is heated. The two upper floors are rented by the share so there could be as many as 8 additional people at the house (or more with guests), but everyone was friendly and there were plenty of times when no one was around (if that's your preference). Overall, a great experience.

I've done Fire Island shares in the past, but having our own apartment was really nice. The place was clean and very nicely appointed. Bonus for having air conditioning, as homes on the island without it often smell mildewy. We'll definitely look to Alan and 281 Shady Walk for our next stay in the Pines!

Lisa was a great host. She met us at the ferry with a wagon for our stuff and walked over to the house with us. Gave us a thorough walk through, and then let us get on with our vacation. She was easy to reach via text for the couple of small questions that came up during our stay. The house was exactly what we wanted in a Fire Island house. Great location, good communal space, private bedrooms, and easy to take care of.

Lisa went out for her way to make sure we had a great vacation in her home. Delighted with both the property and the owner! The property was wonderful, true to the pictures if not nicer. Our group of 5 adults ( 2 parents plus kids 21, 21 and 25) were very comfortable. The home is a great blend of indoor and outdoor space, brilliantly thought out, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. Great outdoor shower, private deck, indoor comforts like individual king beds and all the modern conveniences you could want or need ... just perfect. Plus, all the extra's you need for the beach: chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, etc. What the pictures don't show is how convenient this home is to the beach, town and ferry. Completely private and serene, but a very short walk to the beautiful (uncrowded) beach. Only a short (less than 5 min.) walk to the Seaview ferry and market. And, just a short (less than 10 min.) walk away from Ocean Beach restaurants and shops (and occasionally we biked, so even shorter) -- great if you don't feel like cooking or want a little excursion/social ambiance. Great location! All in all, my family had a delightful beach vacation, and this home was perfect. It was very comfortable, and we will return. About the owner: Lisa is very easy to communicate with and accommodating. Helpful before arrival, with good advice re: parking for the ferry/ferry schedule; gave a helpful tour of the house, offered advice re: local restaurants; allowed use of bikes and wagon. She made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. 5 stars ... thanks for your hospitality, Lisa!

We had a fantastic week in Seaview and the house was perfect for our needs. It was clean, large and perfect for our family of seven. We loved the outside shower, the spacious and comfortable deck, the four bedrooms and four bathrooms. There were plenty of beach chairs, towels, toys, etc. The house was conveniently located to the beach, Seaview market, ocean beach shops and restaurants and the bay. We hope to be back!

We just loved our time on Fire Island, and Mitch was a wonderful and very welcoming host. He gave us lots of great information about the island. We ended up staying in the Green Room instead of the Yellow, and it was spacious for our family of 3. The house is very close to the dock where the ferry comes in so you don't have to walk far with your luggage and also close to the grocery store/restaurant/ice cream shop etc. and bay side beach, which is very shallow and great for young kids. We had a great time at the house and hope to come back some day.

We had a great couple of days staying in Mitch's beach house. Our 2 kids had a great time between the ocean, the bay, the playground, bike riding, etc. Everyone staying in the house was very friendly, and Mitch was very generous-we were able to take 2 rooms the first night as it was quiet (a Thursday night), he let us use the wagon to bring our stuff to the beach (a short 5 minute walk), we borrowed beach chairs, boogie boards, bikes, even an inflatable raft to float around the bay in. Very very very accommodating host! The location couldn't be (URL HIDDEN) literally steps away from the dock where the ferry lets you off. The sunsets on the dock are amazing and you're right next to the little town-market, souvenir shop, liquor store, restaurant, and ice cream shop. Great spot to stay for a relaxing beach stay!

My family and I had a great time on our first visit to Fire Island. That was thanks in part to Mitch’s hospitality: He truly enjoys being a host and introducing people to the Island; he’s full of information about it that’s helpful for first-time visitors. His accommodations are perfect for families with children – our two kids were quite happy there (plenty of games, beach toys, and bikes for them to play with), and we know they’re eager to visit again. Also worth noting the excellent location, right next to the ferry dock, market, playground, and restaurant. We’ll be back as soon as we’re able.

Mitch was at the house when we arrived and even helped with bags back on the ferry when we left. His welcome email had tons of info that I was happy to refer back to on our trip. There was another family there who was on their 5th summer, which was a great sign - everyone was nice and got along. The kids ran around together too. I love Fire Island and am glad to have had just a good a time as I remember when I visited as a kid with my family. The photos are only different in that some furniture is changed but you get the idea - family beach funky.

Fair Harbor is the best place on Earth for families with kids! They run around all day with all the other kids, no cars, and a visit to the candy shop or Wednesday night movies remind us of how life's small pleasures are the most important to them. Little wooden sidewalks, bay beach quiet or ocean beauty, this is heaven!

We had a great time and highly recommend Mitch's place! Super laid back vibe and very friendly and welcoming housemates. Very comfy beds and AC made the room perfect. What's more, my son had instant playmates and didn't want to leave. What a great and full experience. Definitely recommend for those traveling with kids!

We had a wonderful weekend at Mitch's house, aka "Kids R Us." Its a great spot to stay with kids -- comfortable, filled with toys, and perfectly located. My daughter loved biking around Fair Harbor, and we all enjoyed grilling on the deck with the view of the bay. I highly recommend staying at Mitch's house.

Kids R Us is a great share house very near the Fair Harbor dock, ice cream store and general store. The Yellow room has two twin beds, a bureau, and a small open closet containing a single air mattress, which might be placed either between the two beds or near the closet for a third person. Window unit for air conditioning, but you can't open the window. There is one bathroom upstairs among four bedrooms, and another bathroom downstairs. Large comfy living room, dining room and kitchen. Mitch is a great host, full of knowledge and enthusiasm about Fair Harbor, and Fire Island in general. The house is organized well as a share regarding linen, towels, refrigerator space and bicycles. Come loving island life and simple pleasures, and enjoy meeting other parents and children! Fire Island is a magical place, as is Fair Harbor, and the house, with its large back deck and proximity both the beach and bay, makes for a wonderful stay!

There are times when you walk into an environment that instantly feels like home; where you and your friends can relax, have fun and bond in a place that feels both farmilor and comfortable. That is what Thomas's place provides. Nested on a quite walk on fire iland pines, this house was a pleasure to stay in. It was clean at check in, had all the emenitities needed and was decorated just like I would do. Also, it has one of the best showers I have ever used! Thomas was communicative thought the booking arrival and checkout process making sure to text when needed. He felt like a friend by my side. Highly recommend this home. I'll be staying there again myself!
