It has a high ceiling and there is central heating, hot water and a wood burning stove. The table and chairs are in front of the large wooden double doors overlooking the valley. On a warm evening the doors can be opened to take in the view and watch the swallows across the yard. The sofa and chairs face the wood burning stove (some wood supplied) and a TV. A comfy good size double bed with quality linen and duvet is up a small set of stairs on the elevated mezzanine. The separate bathroom contains a shower/bath and toilet, towels are provided. The Apple Loft is situated on the edge of Latchley, a quiet pretty little historic village, with lovely neighbours and a countryside setting. The Tamar Valley is designated an Area of Outstanding Beauty. Historically, the valley has many signs of its copper mining of the 1800's including pumping houses, shafts, and chimneys. The valley is part of the World Heritage Site for Mining. You can walk from Latchley through Duchy of Cornwall woodlands up river along the Tamar to Luckett and Horsebridge. Or down river to Gunnislake and beyond.

  • This little BnB is a perfect little gem for keen walkers. It's clean and comfortable, and has a lovely little enclosed garden perfect for dogs. If you stay here I would recommend a trip to Tavistock, such a beautiful little place. Everyone we met was super friendly, especially Margaret the host!

Be the first to stay in this beautiful wing of this former village church, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you’d need to relax in this rural peaceful corner of Devon. Soak in your own private hot tub, or chill out on the raised decking area watching the sheep graze and the sun set, whilst listening to your favourite music on the outdoor speakers connected to Sonos. Play it as loud as you like, there's no neighbours for 1km in any direction!
Up to 4 guests can have the exclusive use of 5 rooms - accessed via your own personal door to the rear of the church. This area leads straight onto the decked walkway with access to the hot tub. The spacious Master Bedroom with a king size luxury bed and 42" LED TV and Sonos dock. The Snug - consisting of 2 versatile singles, that can be made up as a double or 2 singles, with a study area to the other end. The Ante Room - all rooms lead of this, and it's a perfect space to sit and read a book. The Kitchenette - all the things you'd need to prepare a basic meal, including a fridge freezer and washing machine. The Shower Room - A double power shower and generous sized bathroom. All rooms have a good wifi connection / Ethernet ports.
A stunning area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB!) with amazing views for miles around - you cannot see another house from this location, so make as much noise as you like! There is guest parking for 2 cars, and the local village pub is 1 mile stroll away. A convenience store is 2 miles away, and for larger supermarkets and restaurants there is the market towns of Tavistock or Callington just 5 miles away. We are slap bang between the 2, just 1 mile into Devon from the river Tamar.
  • A lovely, quirky place to stay. Gorgeous location, quiet but close to town and perfect base for exploring Dartmoor. The hot tub was a perfect addition!

  • Amazing! Everything was spot on. My first time using Airbnb to book a spontaneous trip and I couldn’t have picked a better place, the pictures do not even do this justice. A very unique place which I will definitely be returning to. Thank you!

  • Great host Amazing conversion Amazing sound system and hot tub was great even in a stormy weather Must visit in summer !

    Roxy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quirky place, which went well with a board game evening and scary horror film. Hot tub was fantastic (despite the horrendous storms) and the house was very cosy and warm! Thank you for letting us enjoy the very beautiful old chapel. X

    Lucy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic isolated setting in the middle of fields. Lovely property with beautiful clean and warm hot tub out in the fresh air in the garden. 15 min walk to great rustic pub.

  • 100% recommend to anyone who wants to get away for a weekend. Its the perfect location, far away from any city but close enough to enjoy a day out on Dartmoor/ Plymouth. The hot tub was extremely relaxing despite the February weather! Thank you so much!

Indulge in a luxury spa experience at a tranquil cottage. Follow a garden path from your decked balcony to a private wood-fired hot tub, sauna, hammock, outdoor shower and summerhouse. It's a great spot for stargazing by night and bird-watching by day. Cook in a modern well-equipped kitchen or have meals catered for you and served privately at your cosy cottage. Please note that as a customer service based business our price reflects that we set up the spa and hot tub for you at a time which suits (as long as we are on site) and that all logs for the hot tub and log burner are inclusive !
The cottage is situated in the grounds of our own home. While it is entirely private we are on hand if you need anything and Mark can also provide private catering as a highly regarded chef sourcing the best local produce in Cornwall !
The cottage is in a pretty rural hamlet surrounded by countryside near the market town of Launceston in the county of Cornwall.
  • Tracey and Mark were incredible hosts and the cottage was amazing. Every little detail in the cost place shows the love and thought that went into it which made a mini break better than we could have hoped for. The welcome basket was beautiful (especially the bread) and the spa was heavenly. We were gutted we hadn't booked longer but will definitely be going back. Thanks for a great stay.

    Lucie2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Place is even better than on pictures. We really enjoyed everything including easy communications, check in, welcome basket, cottage, spa and area. Highly recommend visiting and will definitely come back.

    Lera2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, relaxing weekend; everything was perfect from the welcome with candles, a little basket with amazing bread, butter and the Cornish fudge! Netflix and the fire on and we really chilled out. Having the spa as well was a real treat, we felt thoroughly relaxed and it’s definitely the break we both needed. We will be back to explore more next time!

    Phoebe2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Air BnB experience and we spent a magical couple of nights in Tracey and Marks beautiful cottage. We were made to feel very much at home (dog included!), and we felt taken care of from start to finish. Hot tub, sauna, and outdoor area is also amazing and we will definitely be returning for a summer escape! Can’t recommend this warm, friendly, welcoming sanctuary enough! x

    Alex2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay here! We would highly recommend :) We can’t wait to come back already. Relaxing, stylish and very well thought out this lovely, little cottage is everything and more that we wished for. The welcome basket, friendly welcome and spa all add to the overall stay.

    Carly2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little house. Very warm welcome and there for us whenever we had questions. A delicious 3 course meal delivered to our table for Taylor's birthday which was a excellent touch. A massive dvd collection & netflix which saw us through the stormy weekend well! Would highly recommend.

    Nicola2020-02-17T00:00:00Z

Covid -19 Due to the government advice against non-essential travel and advocating social distancing to stop the unnecessary spread of Covid 19 The Count House is now closed. I am contacting present bookings as the advice changes. Stay Safe! Claire The Count House was once a Mine office, now it is a light filled holiday cottage. Set on a wooded hillside with stunning views over the River Tamar. The private garden steeps you in nature with deer, swallows and brimstones all regular visitors.
  • We loved our time at The Count House. Beautiful inside and out. So peaceful with the only sounds being the Tamar rapids and the birds. Best airbnb we've stayed in to date.

    Jane2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay. We switched our phones off for four days and sank into the peace of Dartmoor. Appreciated things like the low-key communications, and the thoughtful, calm aesthetic of the house. Will definitely return, thanks Claire.

    Bec2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The view from the house is really beautiful - the location couldn't be better. The house itself is very comfortable and well appointed, with a nice big wood burner. I would highly recommend Claire's place if you're looking for a break surrounded by nature. We loved our stay (and the friendly cat that came to visit).

    Siobhan2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • If a break away in a very cosy ,stylish cottage with every convenience ,that feels as if it is a retreat from hectic city life , surrounded by natural beauty and easy to navigate walks is what you are looking for Claire’s Count House is the best you are likely to find

    Brendan2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to stay, everything that you needed, a magical place to stay, lot's of peace and quiet just what the "doctor ordered", will definitely be returning. Sparkling clean and Claire our host was lovely.

    Jennifer2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our third time at The Count House and, after a very hectic few months, a complete tonic! So peaceful and relaxing, the house is perfectly located, nestled in the Tamar Valley with gorgeous walks right on the doorstep. The Count House is comfortable and welcoming in a wonderfully uncontrived, unfussy way. The bed is super comfy and waking up to that incredible view each morning is a sight to lift the soul. We were especially privileged to see a beautiful deer in the garden on a couple of occasions, and the visit from the friendly little black cat, who sat with my husband as he did a bit of painting and drawing on the bench outside was lovely, too! We'll be back in the Spring for more of the same!

    Kirsty2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely peaceful spot and very cosy cottage break!

    Edward2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay, it was a perfect location to retreat from busy day to day life. The house had a homely feel, clean, safe and secure. Lots of stuff to do around this area, whether going for walks around Tamar river and near by places or visiting sanctuaries (we loved the wallabies at otter wild life centre) and even visiting near by towns and attractions.

A blend of rural charm and modern comforts, The Cottage offers a warm welcome and relaxing place to rest and unwind. Nestled down a country lane yet within easy reach of some of the West Country's best sandy beaches, wild moors, medieval market towns and other popular attractions, it's a great base from which to explore the glorious Devon and Cornish countryside. Ideal for romantic getaways, short breaks and family holidays.
Once home to shire horses Prince and Tidy, this former stable and hayloft has been lovingly and sympathetically restored to create a cosy, comfortable space for guests to enjoy. Three stone steps lead up to The Cottage and its own private stable door entrance. On the ground floor, there is an open plan living area with feature stone fireplace and wood burner, as well as a small kitchen with electric oven, induction hob, fridge with icebox and integrated slimline dishwasher. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one king size and one single, and a bathroom.
Virginstow is a peaceful hamlet, surrounded by open fields and farmland, with only one road running through it. At its heart stands St. Bridget's, a Grade II listed church dating back to the 12th Century. Part of the Diocese of Truro, St. Bridget's is uniquely one of only two churches in the diocese found in the county of Devon. There are several public footpaths in the hamlet and a short walk down the hill is the River Carey and ford, where you will find the old disused railway line and road bridge. Wild life is also abundant and at certain times of the year wild orchids are common. Our 'locals' are The Village Inn at Ashwater, or Pint & Post in St.Giles-on-the-Heath. Both offer generous portions of typical English 'pub grub' and a warm welcome to all. We can also recommend other places to eat and visit, in and around the local area.
  • Well, what can I say! What an absolutely beautiful home. Everything is sparkling clean and cosy! My partner and I stayed for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed for longer! Sarah and her mother are so lovely and we were greeted warmly upon our arrival. I would recomend staying here 100% it's just what you need if you're looking for a little break!

    Riva2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect setting for a few quiet days away. Host was fantastic, cottage was spotless and cosy.

    Abigail2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend Sarah's place. Absolutely everything you need and more. Beautiful place with stylish decor and plenty of space and light. Lovely touches too - wine, eggs and the most delicious cake! Thanks again.

    Zoe2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage, we have the most relaxing stay. Sarah left us some goodies upon arrival, which was a nice surprise, she was extremely helpful with local knowledge and making sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was immaculately clean, comfy and cosy! We will be returning! Thank you Sarah & Barbara

    Leah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place is beautiful; really comfortable, stylish and cosy. We had a brilliant time and would definitely recommend if you want somewhere restful and quiet for a relaxing time

    Janet2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • There is little that could have been improved upon during our long weekend stay in this gorgeous, peaceful cottage! From the complimentary milk, eggs and homemade lemon drizzle cake (which was delicious!), to the beautiful decor in every room, this is certainly a special place to spend your time. Sarah was a fantastic host, providing any answers to questions incredibly quickly - thank you for your generous hospitality. We will most certainly be looking to book again in the future!

    Scott2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cottage and fantastic hosts. Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and equipped, some great local walks and an all-round five star experience. Absolutely faultless - I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The photos don't do it justice - it's simply beautiful and a great place to "get away from it all".

    Steve2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A charming, comfortable and cosy cottage in tranquil surroundings. Close to beautiful seaside towns like Bude, but remote enough to offer a real retreat from busy life. Sarah was a welcoming, kind and thoughtful host and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying in her beautiful cottage.

The Water Mill is close to the North Cornwall coast, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor on the banks of the river Tamar. The building is steeped in history and is named in the Doomsday Book. You’ll love the location, the ambiance, and the views. My place is good for couples. Peaceful and quiet with beautiful gardens to relax in, grazing for horses, fishing in the Tamar, picturesque countryside to explore and numerous places to visit nearby; you will really love it here.
The Water Mill is a grade 2 listed building - last used to mill grain in 1943. The machinery and many of the tools used for milling remain in place. The accommodation combines modern facilities and absolute comfort, amidst the historic setting of the Mill.
This is a rural community, peaceful and quiet.
  • Wow, this place is SPECIAL! If you are looking for a remote hideaway in stunning countryside but with all the mod cons then this is the place. We had 3 nights here and wish we had more. The Mill has been beautifully converted and has retained lots of the old charm of the building but is incredibly comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen has everything you need, like a home from home - or better! And the upstairs open plan living area is stunning. You have access to the main house's gardens and lots of lovely footpaths nearby leading to the river and local woodland. It's a truly magical spot and Maureen and Paul are really friendly and incredibly accommodating. We will certainly be returning again to Boyton Mill for more R&R time. Thank you sharing such a special place. Alex & Lanx

  • Fantastic place to stay...great value for money....can’t recommend it enough.....

    John2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Watermill is very well restored to give a very cosy place. The upstairs is a very large space with the lounge and bedroom with a huge Queen cosy bed. The log burner is a plus but however not necessarily needed as heating very efficient. The kitchen has all equipment needed for your stay. Its location is quiet next to river Tamar & surrounded by fields & a small wood. Its ideal for couples who want to get away with great walks or an easy drive to Bodmin moor and Bude on northern coast of Cornwall.

The cottage is situated in a quiet location in the market town of Tavistock, but it is walking distance to the town square. It's only two miles to Dartmoor National Park, which you can see from our garden. A Victorian miners' cottage, part of the Tamar Valley World Heritage Site, it is cosy and refurbished to a high standard. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and pets. One of our guests summed it up: 'The cottage is an absolute jewel'
The Cottage is spacious and has been renovated recently, the latest addition being a wood burning stove in the front room. There is sitting room, kitchen and dining room, two double bedrooms and another with bunkbeds. There is also a sofa bed available for two more. It can sleep eight people. We also have a travel cot for babies. There is a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs. There are two toilets, one upstairs and one downstairs, a bath and a separate walk in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine and a dishwasher. Pets are welcome. The garden is free for you to use and we are a short walk from the town, local park, swimming pool and arts centre, with cinema. There is free internet and a smart tv. Also available are board games, books, DVDs, piano and guitar.
Fitzford Cottages are unique. We are part of the Tamar Valley World Heritage site. The Victorian miners cottage was built in 1862 as ideal housing for the Duke of Bedford's mines. We are situated in the town but in a quiet location. It is peaceful and secluded whilst being walking distance from the attractions of the town. Tavistock is an award winning market town with independent shops, an indoor pannier market and a choice of superb restaurants, pubs and tearooms.
  • A charming, cosy cottage in a great location. We would happily stay again :-)

    Richard2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage! We all enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again. It’s in a great location as it’s close enough to town but still very quiet. Unfortunately we only had a few days there and didn’t have an opportunity to explore in and around Tavistock much but there’s more than enough to do in the area to keep you busy. There is also a guide in the cottage of things to do locally and around Devon. Cottage was clean and tidy and felt like a home away from home! We headed into town on our last night for a great meal as there’s plenty of places to eat or shops are within walking distance of you prefer to cook yourself. We didn’t really have any issues but Christina answered any questions we had promptly and was helpful when we needed her.

    Lee2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • It's a lovely house & Christina is a good host. Only able to stay one night this trip however we'd like to go back again. The area looks great to explore.

    Jason2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Christina’s cottage is lovely. It looks like a little cottage but it’s a surprisingly commodious place, beautifully fitted out, in a very convenient spot for exploring Tavistock and its environs.

    Sue2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage and we enjoyed our stay... great communication from the host... the only thing I’d say is go careful in the back garden if you have a dog because the gardens are all open, but the front little garden was great for a springer

    Amanda2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cottage!! We stayed here for 1 night! It was our annual girls Christmas get together and we loved how cosy and relaxing it was! Christina is such an amazing host and helped us when we needed it! Would definitely recommend this cottage!!

My place is close to Dartmoor National Park. You’ll love it because of the peaceful and relaxing setting. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (pets). It is ideal for a dog as there are lots of beautiful walks in the surrounding area and a recreation are opposite.
A very spacious comfortable open plan lounge kitchen dining area. The bathroom consists of shower for easy access, toilet and basin with a radiator. There is not a bath.
The area is very central to visit coastal places of interest, Eden project Tavistock , and beaches like widmouth bay and bude are a 45 minute drive
  • Stayed as a couple for a week in September. It was perfect for us. Spacious. Quiet. Well-equipped. Dishwasher good. Microwave good. Oven/hob good. Washing machine good. Shower good. Cutlery, utensils, good. Tea, coffee, sugar, oil, cling film, in cupboard.

  • Surprisingly large living area and everything works!

    Mike2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious, comfortable and well equipped cottage. Issue free wifi which we rarely seem to get in holiday cottages in the south west. Milk, tea and cake was a lovely touch for our arrival. Elaine was really friendly and helpful, answering all questions promptly before our arrival, and she and her husband gave us great tips for local places to visit (Lydford Gorge is a must). It's in a lovely quiet location on the edge of town. It's a short walk of an evening to the local pubs. There's a fantastic farm shop a 5 minute drive away, and a large supermarket 10 mins away. Best of all is the river across the road and the playground behind offering entertainment for kids on the doorstep. It's about a 35min drive to the north coast beaches for those random sunny days summer allows us :)

  • The Annex is the perfect location to discover beautiful Cornwall and Devon. We have travelled to many places being Lifton our homy base point, and the house is so well equiped and provided us with all the comfort that made us feel like in paradise. Plus, the escenery around is just gorgeous: nice walks in the country and quiteness every where. Just the perfect place for our country vacation.

My Maisonette is a listed building and on 2 levels. It's a little quirky and in the middle of town with minutes walk to everything you could need - banks, library, pubs, bakeries, butchers, coffee shops, cafes, takeaways, shops. There is a castle, free museum and surrounded by countryside. Launceston is just off the A30. DIY breakfast included. I also have a double room listed in this property which may be booked during your stay, therefore you could be sharing the facilities with other guests.
I provide a DIY breakfast with several options. Guests may also cook themselves eggs if they wish. Also, feel free to bring in a takeaway for evening meals or use my kitchen facilities to cook yourself something. No shower. BATH ONLY.
  • I had the single room for the evening and my stay was very pleasant. Victoria is a very friendly and conscientious host and made me feel right at home. The town house has character and is warm and inviting. The only minor drawback is the arrangement of the bathroom being upstairs and off from her bedroom (which also doesn't have a shower but this is expected as it's stated on the listing page) so I was mindful of not waking her when running the bath in the morning (!)

  • Victoria’s place is fantastic with lots of character. It was a relaxing place to stay for a work trip. Launceston is a quaint and safe place and it would be great for a leisure trip too if you want to be in the country. Plymouth is about one hours bus journey away via the 12 bus. Check in was made easy with the directions provided via Airbnb messaging beforehand and she waited for me when the train was delayed which I really appreciated. Victoria is a pleasant and calm character whose hospitality put me right at ease. The single room was pretty and just the right size for one person. Noise filtering from outside was moderate. I didn’t have to use earplugs. The breakfast was great, cereals were in airtight containers with the cardboard cutout of names on them so you knew what you were eating, could look up ingredients and they didn’t go soggy. There was bread, porridge, teas and cafetiere provided for coffee. She told me I could use the kitchen to cook if I wanted. I didn’t use this, but it was nice to know. Victoria had offered to get dairy free milk which was thoughtful. I was okay buying this. There’s a Co-op, a large Tesco and a few artisan coffee shops closeby within a 14 minute walking distance at most. Whilst I was there for 4 nights the Wifi cut out just once, I was shown how to reconnect this and it was easy to fix. The TV had been unavailable during my stay, this didn’t bother me as there are plenty of interesting and quirky books to read and Wifi. There’s only a bath here with no shower. I was expecting this from the description. It was relaxing to soak in it at night after work. After a 4 night stay, I left Victoria’s feeling recharged and ready for the next destination.

We have a quaint Devon home situated near beaches, Moors and cute villages. The house faces onto a road, but the room is at the back of the house so you can’t hear the traffic. We’re a stones throw away from Launceston which used to be the capital of Cornwall (there’s castle ruins!) Being in the southwest there is no public transport, so you’ll need to drive to get around. There is however a village shop that sells the essentials just a 3 minute walk from the house.
Our home is unique in the fact that we are pretty much on the border of Cornwall and Devon. So we’re in an ideal location in regards to all the fab places you’ll want to visit while you’re here.
Our little village is quite adorable. There is a little post office which you can get a few bits like milk and bread if you don’t want to drive to the shops. The people are super friendly and if you really wanted, there is a village hall which has activities like yoga and boules for those who want the PROPER village experience ;)
  • Lovely place. Quiet location. Beautiful house and very personable family. Would love to use them again. Thank you. C and J. x

  • **Would highly recommend ** Very thoughtful, friendly, and welcoming family, with a lovely home in the country.

  • Our stay at Chloe's was lovely. The family were very welcoming, the room felt like a little hotel with tea & coffee supplies, biscuits & lots of local information. We were able to use the bathroom to ourselves which was great too. Breakfast was beautifully laid out, plenty of options and we were able to prepare our own self-service breakfast which was great. An ideal stay for a weekend away in North Cornwall

  • In a case like this Airbnb should provide extra stars because 5 are not enough to describe how great was our stay. This smiling family welcomed us so warmly and we really felt like home. Room super comfy, fantastic bathroom with large shower, beautiful house, local pub 1 minute walking absolutely recommended. Thank you Chloe, you are a super super host!

    Marta2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • On this occasion, words are missing to describe these two magnificent people and their home. Sharon and Chloe are truly amazing, always with a smile ready, very helpful and attentive. In his house everything is taken care of in detail, and one can say that literally nothing is missing. We could not have been better. We recommend them without hesitation !!!

  • Fabulous place to stay, Margaret is a lovely lady and great host, thanks for the breakfast, look forward to staying again.

  • Margaret is an outstanding host. She is incredibly kind and caring and will make everybody feel welcome in her lovely home from check-in to check-out. She provides the guests with a nice breakfast and valuable advice on how to spend the time in Cornwall. Her house is very modern and clean, all rooms are well-equipped and spacious. It is located very close to some attractions of the area as well as a supermarket that can be used for all necessary shopping. Overall the stay was very memorable and i am happy to have met Margaret. When i come back to Cornwall I will definitely try to stay at her place again. 100% recommendation

    Jan2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret made me feel at home as soon as I arrived. Her bungalow is beautiful, absolutely spotless and clean and her garden is an English cottage garden vision of colour. I was able to park on the drive but there was also plenty of parking on the road in the quiet cup de sac. The bed was extremely comfortable and it is so quiet at night with no road or human noise so I slept really well. I am dairy & gluten free and Margaret bought food to ensure I had a wonderful breakfast each morning. I was able to sit at the table over looking the garden to eat my evening meal as I was travelling alone and didn’t feel comfortable eating out. When I am next visiting the area I will definitely stay here again.

  • Excellent stay in a lovely well thought out barn conversion. Very peaceful and relaxing, wonderfully rural in quiet surroundings (apart from the birds singing!). Scones, cream and home made jam supplied by the host were very, very welcome and much enjoyed as was the milk, tea, herbal tea and coffee (little touches that make a big difference). Our dog was made welcome and he also enjoyed his stay. Very comfortable bed, well laid out kitchen and great facilities, etc. Hope to visit again (& maybe the weather will be kinder!). Would definitely recommend as a place to visit and get away from it all

The Yeworthy Eco-Treehouse is an incredible off-grid retreat. Nestled in a secluded setting amongst the tree-tops above a lake, it's the perfect hideaway for couples seeking a romantic escape. The treehouse is kept cosy with a log burner, while breakfast cereals and milk are provided. Guests enjoy exclusive use of the summer house which is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine of an evening, as well as the rowing boat on the lake (guests use at their own risk).
The treehouse is off-grid, meaning that fresh drinking water is provided from a bowser and cooking is on a gas camping stove which is provided. In keeping with its eco-credentials, a composting sawdust toilet house is located separately, a few meters away nestled amongst the trees. Please note **there are no showering facilities**. Guests will need to bring their own towels. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
The treehouse is completely secluded and private. Guests can enjoy complete tranquility and spot the deer, geese and other wildlife that have the forest as their home.

  • Our perfect place! Spent the whole weekend in these beautiful surroundings . Walked all through the woods , hitched rides on the many tyre / rope swings ! The treehouse is perfectly warm , stunning views- I wanted to take that balcony view home ! Love the whole set up ! Made full use of the gas stove provided - sausage /bacon sandwiches for breakfast and steak for our dinner ! Rocky enjoyed many boats rides too and the sun even made an appearance ....So much wildlife , we seen Deer, ravens , Canadian geese, woodcock and plenty of toads in the lake . My husband bought his solar shower so we weren’t fussed about the no shower facilities ! We would absolutely love to come again in warmer weather too :)

On the outskirts of the historic village of Lifton and recently refurbished, Leat Cottage is tucked away on a leafy, quiet Devon lane. It's just 5 minutes from the A30, convenient for Dartmoor (15 mins) and the North Devon and Cornish coasts (25 mins). Ideal for walking, cycling, shooting, fishing, water sports or just getting away from it all. The village boasts 2 pubs, 2 hotels, a Post Office and the award winning Strawberry Fields restaurant and farm shop; all within easy walking distance.
Away from the congestion of the coast or Dartmoor, Leat Cottage is perfectly located in the Tamar Valley AONB. Ideal for relaxing in the West Devon countryside or enjoying the many local attractions and activities. The cottage is finished to the highest standards featuring traditional whitewashed walls, beamed ceilings and a stone fireplace with wood burning stove. It also has a combi-boiler hot water and central heating system throughout. We offer accommodation for up to five people comprising; one double, one twin, one single and a family bath / shower room. Downstairs provides comfortable, open-plan living in a traditional setting with a sitting area, dining area, and a fully equipped modern kitchen opening onto a private garden with BBQ and patio. Fishing on the rivers Lyd and Tamar for salmon, sea trout, brown trout and grayling can be arranged locally. The cottage is only a five-minute walk from five named pools. There is also a well stocked trout lake in the village. More widely, there is fishing available on Dartmoor and various lakes and reservoirs. Guiding on the Tamar and Lyd, particularly night fishing for sea trout, is also available by prior arrangement with experienced and qualified local instructors. Shooting is available locally when in season, but advance booking is essential. The nearby World Heritage Town of Tavistock is a short 15-minute drive and is the gateway to exploring Dartmoor. It provides a wide variety of pubs, restaurants, shops, banks and its famous Pannier Market is a must for the first-time visitor. More locally, within a five minute walk, the village has two pubs and two hotels including the famous Arundell Arms Hotel. Also located in the village is the award-winning and highly popular Strawberry Fields farm shop offering a restaurant and coffee shop serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon teas. The main shop itself has an on-site bakery, deli, butchers and wide selection of fresh local produce and groceries. Located in the centre of the village is a post office and licenced newsagents which also stocks a small range of Groceries. Within a short fifteen-minute drive are numerous highly recommended pubs and award-winning restaurants
Close by to Lifton is a range of attractions and amenities. Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre is home to the National Fairground Collection and the Fairground Heritage Trust. It is a facility unique in the UK. There are superb displays of Fairground Art and Memorabilia, and a large array of vintage rides, stalls and shows - all undercover. Nearby in the historic town of Launceston with its famous castle is 'Liberty' one of our favourite coffee shops anywhere. There is also the Launceston Narrow Gauge Steam Railway offering train rides through the unspoilt Cornwall countryside to Newmills and its popular farm park. For something more energetic you could always head over to the National Trust managed Lyford Gorge with the deepest river gorge in the South West and the 30m high White Lady waterfall. There are walking routes to suit all abilities, tea room and National Trust shop and information centre. Within easy striking distance are the fabulous beaches of North Devon and Cornwall. All offer a wide range of facilities including hire of wet suits and surfboards. The more popular beaches near Bude and Polzeath also benefit from surf schools and coasteering trips. Just a short 10 minute drive north of Lifton is Roadford Lake, the largest area of fresh water in the southwest of England. Roadford provides fun for all the family and great food at the cafe. On site activities include; sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, cycling, archery and fly-fishing. For the adventurous, why not try the circular route around the dam and explore the beautiful surroundings of the Wolf valley.
  • We had such a great time in Devon and having such a lovely cottage to call home while we were there made it extra special.

We have a standard single, a double-room and a King Size room for up to 5 guests. We are close Tavistock, Dartmoor, Plymouth and the North Cornwall coast. We cater for singles/couples, and business travellers. We can take and collect guests from inns and restaurants within a 5 mile radius of our home. We keep poultry, and guests may like to collect their own eggs for breakfast when available. Continental breakfast is included or a cooked breakfast available for additional cost.
Guests have a single bed with use of the guest bathroom adjacent to the bedroom. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, handbasin, bath and loo. Guests have sole use of the sitting room with TV and an inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. The wood burners are lit in the autumn and winter months. A selection of bottled beers and wines are available for a suggested donation however we do ask that red wine is not taken upstairs but is consumed in the dining or sitting room areas. We are lucky to have several inns and restaurants nearby that serve good food and your hosts are happy to take and collect guests within a 5 mile radius for a small donation. We have a fairly large garden with places to sit and read, have a coffee or a glass of something. In the summer the lawn is usually set up for garden croquet which guests are welcome to play between themselves or with the hosts. We don’t provide evening meals but guests are welcome to collect a takeaway from town and eat in the dining room or if they wish there is a barbecue that can be lit if required. Continental breakfast is included and provided in the dining room with a toaster and coffee and tea making facilities. Cooked breakfast can be provided by prior arrangement for an additional fee.
We are within a hamlet set in a rural location. There are views from to the east over Dartmoor. Our neighbourhood is friendly and all of our neighbours are well versed with helping each other out when needed. Although being only 2.25 miles from Tavistock we would strongly advise that guests coming to Cherry Tree Cottage either have their own transport or make alternative arrangements before arrival as we are not on a bus route.
  • Steve snd Suzie have a lovely cottage with good bedrooms and a lovely sitting room with wood burner and also breakfast room with a wood burner. Really nice waking up to the sound of the birds in the countryside. Will definitely look to stay here again

  • Steve and Suzie are a very lovely and welcoming couple. very hospitable and the location of the cottage is wonderful, in one of the best locations in Great-Britain. Don't hesitate to book with them. I would suggest to upgrade to the premium breakfast to take advantage of the nice eggs from their own hens, and the homemade jam. They have attention for detail and some things in the room I found very handy, for example the USB power connector near the night stand and the touch-lamp! I had a very pleasant stay and they are lovely people.

  • Steve and Suzie are superb people first and foremost. A stay with them will feel just like home. The room has everything you’ll need with a wonderfully comfortable bed and the bathroom is outstanding! Breakfast was an added bonus, as well as the interesting conversations too!

  • Steve and Suzie are really lovely people. They were very welcoming on arrival and made me feel right at home. Their cottage is beautiful and in a lovely setting. My room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The cottage is in a very quiet location so I slept really well. Suzie made me a delicious breakfast each morning and offered to drive me places for a small fee instead of getting a taxi as the taxis are very expensive. I honestly don’t have one bad thing to say about myself, I thoroughly enjoyed it and they even gave me a bag of their freshly picked tomatoes to nibble on my long journey home. Very lovely and thoughtful people! I highly recommend staying here.

  • Wonderful, intimate, very clean and pretty place in heart of town. Victoria is a warm and gracious host. Very close to public transport too. Loved this visit. Would like to stay here again.

  • Victoria is lovely!, she is very accommodating for needs, has a lovely home right in the middle of town and goes the extra mile to make sure her guests are comfortable and have everything they need, I would definitely recommend her place for anyone looking for a stop off in Launceston!

    Rebecca2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Victoria was very welcoming into her flat. She explained everything to me. The flat was clean, tidy and ideal for me. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

    Graham2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very old house in character with the old town, timber beams and wonky floors, the perfect experience of living in the old Enlish style, other than that the accommodation facilities were very good and the house clean and well presented, Victoria is a very good host who looks after her guests.

    John2019-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Victoria’s place was like a home from home. Loved the extra touches such as breakfast and toiletries! Would stay again!

Tucked away in a quiet rural location, enjoying breathtaking views across the Kensey Valley, these beautifully converted barn apartments offer stylish, luxury self-catering holiday accommodation. Perfect for dog owners, couples and families alike, they provide an ideal base for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer.
On the ground floor and featuring a picturesque rose garden courtyard, Caradow is a cosy & relaxing retreat. Light and airy with floor to ceiling windows in both the bedroom & living area, it gets the best of the Cornish sunshine, whatever the season. The attractive stable front door leads into the kitchen, then one step up to the living/dining area, with electric woodburner & solid oak floors. With antique pine furniture, solid oak floor & a 5ft canopied bed with memory foam mattress topper, the double bedroom has a distinctly fresh, nautical feel, complete with feature ‘porthole’ window to the living area. A separate bathroom boasts an 8 jet whirlpool bath with overhead shower. Dogs are most welcome at Caradow, and with a huge fenced paddock adjacent to the property, you don't even need to get out of your pyjamas to go for a walk!
One of the benefits of being in such a central location is that there are literally hundreds of places to visit on a day trip from Landrends. Definitely too many to list here! The nearest beach (Crackington Haven) is a 20 minute drive, but a number of North and South coast beaches & walks are less than an hour's drive. The Eden project is a 45 minute drive, and both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are 20 minutes drive. It is also worth looking online at visitcornwall.com, and the National Trust website.
  • Our stay was exceptional at Amy and Steve’s Airbnb. Their directions were spot on, a lovely drive up and the check in process was simple. We stayed alongside my husbands parents which worked perfectly. Both caradow and skybar were spotless and beautiful inside. They had so much character and the decor so beautifully done. Bed was very comfortable, shower/bath sparkling and powerful - what you need after hours out enjoying the stunning Cornish countryside! Great location between loads of great things to do, went to three great dog friendly pubs nearby. Our dog was welcome and loved her stay and it was all well maintained. Lovely little touches throughout. We just need to work out when we can come back! Everything we love about Cornwall and UK holidays in one perfect apartment. Don’t miss out on this gem you won’t be disappointed!

    Laura2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's place is great, the photos do not do justice, lovely living spaces, everything is good quality and well thought out, great location.

    Chris2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect stay for a calm and relaxing escape. The surroundings are stunning, hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We couldn’t fault it. Was just what we needed.

    Lisa2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic apartment, in a great location perfect for visiting Cornwall. Amy as a host was great, with quick responses on any questions and being flexible when we needed to change the dates. The apartment was clean and tidy with everything we needed for our stay. Sidney our dog even got dog biscuits to make his stay more enjoyable. Will defiantly come back in the summer to make the most of the local walking routes and beaches.

    Chris2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing getaway in the countryside, room is bigger than pictures showed, we went with a German shepard and had plenty of space. Amy the host is fantastic and nothing is to much trouble. The welcome pack with suggestions is also great if you aren't from the area. Will defo reccomennd and use Again

    Marc2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and cozy home in an idyllic setting. Was very clean and comfortable.

    Carmen2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay! The barn/cottage is incredibly clean, beautifully furnished and it smells amazing! Amy and Steve were really welcoming and lovely to chat to. They have prepared for everything: A huge stack of DVDs in the utility room for you to choose from, hundreds of leaflets for local attractions, washing machine and dryer if you need, they even put a travel cot and a high chair in the house so that we didn't need to worry about bringing them. I can't explain how beautiful the cottage is, we sell in love instantly. We hope to visit again next year.

    Leona2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a stunning place! We loved our stay at Caradow - the barn was lovely and clean, every room was thought about carefully and was very stylish! The doggy blankets for the sofa were a nice touch (we normally do bring our own!) But it was nice for the dogs to be thought about too even down to welcome treats being provided. We had biscuits, tea and coffee provided also - the coffee is now our new favourite and we have quickly realised since coming home that you can only get this from Cornwall! I've said to my partner that we must now make another visit to go and get some rather than pay the £2.50 delivery on their website!! We cooked a full English every morning so the kitchen has everything you need to cook breakfast / lunch / dinner. The outside paddock area was great for throwing the ball for our dogs and the picnic area was also very nice! We put a blanket down one evening so we could look at the beautiful view of the fields behind the house which was rather special! Launceston was a quick and easy drive for everything you need from a Tesco for food and petrol to takeaways and pubs etc. Caradow is also a perfect place for exploring the coast, we took a drive to Crackington Haven which was stunning, Unfortunately dogs aren't allowed on the beach there so we took the coastal path which was breathtaking! We then took a trip to the next village of boscastle and the following day we drove to Tintagel and took the coastal path to Trebarwith and had a lovely lunch looking out on the sea at a pub there. We had a perfect 3 days staying at Caradow the only regret we have is not asking where the pigs were kept so we could feed them our scraps! If we plan to come to Launceston again, we will definitely be coming back here! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

  • Our second stay and again it was great. Would 100% recommend and will no doubt stay again when we're in the area. Thanks!

    Jake2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Chapter 1. Arrival After a long, long drive I let myself into the accommodation to find out it was lovely. Sparkling clean with a very private area upstairs to hang out in, a comfy bed and nice breakfast area. It had everything I felt I needed - even some delicious Kit-Kats. I said ‘hello’ to my friendly hosts and went back to chill out. Chapter 2. The Great Depression Excited I picked up one of the aforementioned Kit-Kats and munched it down, only to find it was stale! I felt betrayed. Never before had I experienced such a roller coaster of emotions, tugging me this way and that. They were so friendly, no welcoming, so nice. The duality between their personalities and the freshness of the Kit-Kat stung like an angry wasp. I let them know of my disappointment and trudged to my large, comfy bed. Chapter 3. Retribution After a long, hard shift I came ‘home’ on my final day, determined to avoid the confectionary bowl lest it bring my mood down… but lo and behold what did I see before me? Gone was the standard two finger Kit Kat we all remember from our childhoods - replaced with, and I do not lie, a Kit Kat Chunky. My mood was instantly reversed, my spirits uplifted. I realised I had been too hasty to judge, too quick to paint them as wrong. It was here I chose to change my life, to give everyone the chance they deserved. It was here my world was rocked. Thank you hosts. I shall never forget you or your wonderful confectionary bowl. p.s. The shower gel smelt lovely.

  • Amazing little space with a lovely fire and beautiful welcome basket! Really dog friendly which our little pup loved. Fenced in little area right by the barn which would be perfect in summer and a massive field to exercise your dog in as well. The whole place was spotlessly clean when we arrived and there was a full basket of logs. There were loads of local amenities advertised in a really helpful little welcome pack and loads of food etc offered. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone I know and especially anyone with dogs!

    Albert2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy barn. The log burner was great in the evenings for cuddling up in front of the tv with some bubbles. The place was very clean. Perfect place to take your dog, there was a basket with blankets and treats and an outside courtyard which was gated. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our own food. We had takeaway the first night which we collected from the town that was 5 mins away. We visited Boscastle and tintagel castle - both lovely. Great views, great walks, perfect for dogs. I would definitely visit here again!

    Harriet2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kylden was a lovely cosy place to stay, especially in the winter after a cold wet walk at Boscastle to come back and light the fire. The whole set up is incredibly dog friendly with a massive paddock right next door for the pooch to run around in. The welcome pack provided had loads of information about local attractions and the best places to eat, which we definitely wouldn’t have found otherwise. The Barns are only a five minute drive from the A30 and incredibly easy to get to. Amy and Steve were great hosts and were really attentive. Thank you and we will be back!

  • Angela’s place is very peaceful, clean with amazing views. Loved the little chickens, cats and horses roaming around too. If you’re not local and don’t know the area that well, there isn’t much around locally, so you will definitely need a car to venture out to other areas. We had an amazing Sunday roast in a lovely pub called St Tudy’s Inn, which is about 40 min drive.

    Gemyonce2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • A little gem in the countryside. Warm and comfortable with a great welcome from Angela. We made some surprisingly good meals including vegetarian cooked breakfast using only the microwave, as there is no hob or oven. Lovely peaceful views of fields and trees and beautiful horses to look at. Easy parking right next to the property.

Perfect for small families, with all the animals on site it was a 3 year old paradise to wake up and go and see goats, pigs, ducks, chickens, guinea pigs and so many more beautiful animals. We will be recommending them on highly to all our friends and family as this place is just ace.

  • A real find. Great attention to detail, hooks on the back of the bathroom door, shelves to put things on, storage galore. Dishwasher tablet left out. Eggs and milk in fridge, along with tea, coffee, sugar and condiments. Very comfortable. Probably the best we've stayed in. And great value!

Kingfisher Pod at Milemead is ideal for those looking to get away from it all. It is located in a tranquil, west-facing spot surrounded by wildlife, directly overlooking a picturesque lake. Milemead is a coarse fishery, and fishing and tackle is available to guests. We are located 2 miles from the historic town of Tavistock, 3 miles from spectacular Dartmoor and from popular mountain bike trails, making this a great destination for walkers, runners and cyclists.
In the pod you will find details of recommended local places to eat, including takeaways, some of which offer a delivery service
  • The cabin is situated in a tranquil location and the only noise you hear is that of the wildlife. The cabin was immaculately clean and as were the ablutions. There was tea/coffee and fresh milk in the cabin for our arrival which was a nice touch after a long drive. We would definitely recommend staying here for a night or two !

  • Amazing hospitality and setting. We enjoyed our stay at the fisheries. Definitely would come back again.

  • Highly recommended, lovely spot would love to stay in the summer, still nice and cosy in winter. Very welcoming.

    Daniel2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and super comfortable pod. Very snug in winter, going to sleep with the sound of owls all around and woodpeckers in the daytime. Wonderful to see the kingfishers so near the pod. Very friendly hosts- always happy to help me out and great facilities in the pod. Would recommend this for short or long stay as there is lots to do in the area, with maps etc in the pod.

Kilworthy Rise Annex is under 10 mins walking distance of the historical award winning market town of Tavistock and an ideal place to stay for those wishing to explore the town facilities while benefiting from staying in a rural location. The Annex affords you the freedom and privacy you would expect from staying in an apartment with the advantage of the warm welcome and support you would expect from staying in a hosts home. A self serve breakfast is included and provided in the kitchenette.
Please be aware that there are three steps to access the Annex. There is one really comfortable double bed with double duvet and a lovely double sofa bed. The Annex is perfect for singles or couples and can confortably accommodate an additional adult or a child on the sofa bed. The Annex has a small kitchenette equipped with a sink, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster where you will find everything you need to make breakfast, snacks/picnic lunches, refreshments and re-heat food. Please note there is no full cooker/stove/oven in the accommodation. For breakfast we provide a selection of breakfast cereal, muesli, granola, toast, jam/marmalade, fresh fruit, orange juice, tea, coffee, biscuits and milk in the Annex kitchenette allowing you to be fully self sufficient which is all included in the price. In addition a cooked breakfast or full English breakfast can be delivered to the Annex for you at a very reasonable additional charge. Several guests have commented on how much they enjoyed the cooked breakfast (my husband is a chef) so please ask for details and availability if this is required.
Kilworthy Rise Annex is situated in a quiet, rural location on the edge of Tavistock town centre. It is perfect for those who would like to be within walking distance of the town centre but would also prefer not to be staying on a busy main street. Tavistock is a great place to stay for walkers exploring Dartmoor, cycling Route 27 or just visiting on a stop off on the way down to Cornwall. It is within easy reach of the North Cornish coast with the amazing beaches at Bude and Newquay and ideally situated to explore the city of Plymouth and Cornish town of Looe. There are a variety of National Trust properties in the area (Lydford Gorge, Cothele House, Buckland Abbey, Castle Drogo and Finch Foundary ) and we have had guests go on day trips to the Eden project.
  • A great find for a weekend on the moor! Jane was a lovely host, very welcoming and approachable. The annex was comfortable and cosy despite the wet weather we had and had all the essentials you needed. Definitely recommend and can't wait to come again in the future.

    Sam2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • A most delightful place. All spotlessly clean and comfortable and very peaceful. Almost home from home. Very generous breakfast items were thoughtfully provided in the kitchenette. All credit to Jane.

    Lucy2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night because we were going to an event in Tavistock. The place is a little converted outbuilding, maybe once a garage. It's spotlessly clean and Jane went to a lot of trouble finding vegan breakfast items. It's about 10 minutes downhill to town and a steep walk back but definitely doable. It's very quiet and has everything you need for a short break.

    Jane2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very good choice for host and home to stay at. Highly recommend this place.

    Sasho2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our one night stay to attend a wedding in the area. The annex was perfect for what we required & had everything we needed. Jane was very welcoming & couldn’t have helped more. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for a great stay. P.S - Sorry we didn’t get a chance to say bye!

    Rosie2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spotlessly clean and comfortable place to stay, with a wide selection of items provided for breakfast and snacks. It's a really peaceful location, but with easy access to the town of Tavistock.

    Rachel2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful setting. Jane was very welcoming and we loved her 2 beautiful cats and their little dog . The room was great and the bed VERY comfortable. It was lovely to have a little kitchen attached with coffee tea and hot chocolate provided plus milk, fresh juice jam and butter plus bread but the cooked breakfast was 1st class. Every thing was very clean and spacious parking. We can't wait to go back.

Spacious double room on ground floor of charming Cornish Georgian cottage. The house overlooks the town's famous parade ground with it's panoramic views of Dartmoor, and sits next to the parish church. It's a 1 min walk through the churchyard to the market town of Launceston, which hosts many cafes, shops, banks and all the usual amenities.
I have two friendly cats, and a little jack russel / poodle dog called Flash.
Launceston sits just off the A30 on the Cornwall / Devon border. This gives good access to both the north and south coast, and the rest of Cornwall. I'm happy to advise on places to visit in the area, including the best beaches.
  • Yvonne was a very friendly host , a very clean and spacious bedroom and bathroom.

    Peter2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed with Yvonne several times and it has always been a pleasure. She is very hospitable and the room very comfortable. Excellent value for money.

    Julia2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • An extremely central and welcoming stay in a listed house. Feels like a film set. Yvonne as welcoming as ever. The Christmas lights around the bed head were a lovely touch.

  • I had a great 1 night stay on business. It was a little difficult to find but I was given prior warning with full instructions, so this wasn’t an issue (and Yvonne offered to meet me in town if I couldn’t find it) Super comfortable bed in a charming room. Kettle/milk etc provided in room which was much appreciated after a 12 hour day on my feet. Flash, the resident little dog was super cute.

  • Lovely place to stay!

    Ben2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay and it was like returning to a favourite home. You could imagine Jane Austen staying here, visiting an aunt. The position is right in the heart of the town but behind the main church so it feels tranquil. Yvonne is an excellent host and the room itself is lovely. Comfy bed with cotton bedding and sink into pillows. Kettle with cafetiere, range of tea bags, milk and sugar were a nice touch.

  • A cute place to stay with beautiful countryside all around. Lots to do and see close by.

    Ruth2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the Granary! The house is a perfect little cottage, beautifully furnished and very practical. It is located on a farm and you can take all kinds of hikes from there, but you can also simply stay in and have a few cosy days. There is a farm shop not far up the road, which sells fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as bread, cheese, milk, eggs and other essentials. Although the Granary is somewhat remote, it is possible to arrive on foot from Tavistock, which is only about a one hour walk away. The landscape is somewhat hilly, but nothing too steep. Katie was a perfect hostess and helped us out a lot with maps and bus times for the region. We could always reach her via text or just ring her doorbell. All in all, the Granary is a great place for a quiet holiday!
