  • We had a fantastic stay in the cabin, the weather was beautiful. It was exactly what we needed and great that our dog could enjoy the space too. Really nice to come back and relax in the hot tub after a long walk!

  • Perfect break away from the city. The cabin was great- provided everything we needed with amazing views! The dogs had a brilliant time. Would highly recommend. Thank you!

  • I booked this for me and my boyfriend for his birthday. It was amazing, the farm animals..hot tub..jacuzzi bath...quiet farm area...small cabin just for two...nearby beach and local pub...all were brilliant. We went to The Bank in Bude for tapas, rosies for lunch and prestons for lunch. Highly recommend all places. We visited summerleaze beach, the nearby beach (a 25-30 minute walk from the cabin) and did cliff walks which again I would highly recommend. Debbie and her partner were very helpful. We didn't need to contact them but they both visited us (when we checked in and before check out) so any questions we thought of we just asked them then, but they leave their number and were easy to contact. We are already planning on returning when the sun comes to visit as my boyfriend loves to surf but due to the weather he wasn't able to do this AND the cabin has a BBQ which next time we would love to have. Thank you & if you are a couple and are debating booking court farm cabin … you won't be disappointed :)

  • I absolutely loved it! The location was perfect, it was so peaceful and definitely worth the money, already looking to go back in the summer.

    Jessica2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • A really cosy cabin with everything we needed for a few days away before the Christmas madness! We didn’t use the hot tub due to the weather.. but the jacuzzi bath was amazing! The local pub Preston Gate is really friendly and does an amazing roast! Andrew and Debbie are really friendly and helpful and full of good recommendations for places to go. We’d love to return with the whole family and stay in the farmhouse.. will hopefully be in touch! Xx

  • A beautiful cabin, with stunning views from the garden and the hot tub.. We had such a special time, enjoying walks on the beaches in Bude and spending time relaxing in the hot tub.. We took our dog, who loved it there! Our hosts were so friendly and very helpful! We will definitely be visiting again :)

  • What a fantastic location! The Cabin is stunning, it’s just like the pictures (if not better!). We had a lovely peaceful break away from our regular city life. We will definitely be back!

Due to Covid19 dates in April and May have been restricted and we are not taking bookings for these months as we will be closed. Please message us should you have a booking enquiry. Stunning studio loft apartment situated just 200 metres from the sea and beach. Wake up to the view of the Sea. Self contained, self catering with kitchen. Private access to apartment from Top Road. High spec finish within. Wifi with all the mod cons! Minimum 2 night stay.
Wake up to the sea at the end of your bed! Some low sloping ceilings due to it being a loft. Always cleaned to a very high standard.
Small friendly community with great local facilities. This is the best place in Cornwall to spend your summer holiday. I know I am biased as I have lived here for 30 years but honestly, it really is! Downderry has a shop, cafe, pub and restaurant all just 1 minutes walk from the house. The pub 'The Inn On The Shore' is situated right on the sea front and is a great place to enjoy local ales over looking the sea. The shop is a good size and has everything you might need with daily deliveries of fresh food as well as a post office. There is a very popular vegetarian cafe called 'Something Different' in the middle of the village. The Blue Plate restaurant is stunning and very popular locally with an excellent reputation for good food and service, it also has a deli that is open daily. Downderry beach is just 100 metres from the loft which is a family friendly beach used by many of the locals. It is sandy with a few pebbles here and there and has lovely rock pools on low tide to explore. Perfect place for kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, swimming and snorkelling. You can walk all along the beach from Downderry to Seaton. Seaton Beach is just half a mile West of Downderry and is lifeguarded by the RNLI from May - September. Seaton also has 1 bistro beach bar, 1 pub, beach cafe, toilet facilities, children play area including a multi games area and a country park with river valley walks so plenty to do. Just 6 miles to the East the stunning Whitsand Bay is a must. 5 miles of golden sands at Low tide. Adventure Bay Surf School operate from Tregonhawke Beach. It has 4 lifeguarded beaches along its coastline. Just check tide times and swim at the lifeguarded beach in between the red and yellow flags. The area is known for its good surfing waves and subsequent rip currents. Kingsand and Cawsand are beautiful and. Stones throw from Whitsand Bay. Lovely little fishing villages with cobbled streets over looking the mouth of Plymouth Sound. Close by is Mount Edgecombe County Park which has a stately home and gardens to explore as well as a restaurant in its orangery. From Cremyll you can get a foot ferry to Royal William Yard which is over the river Tamar within Plymouth. It is a former vittaling yard which has been converted in to stunning restaurants, bars, and Shops. Well worth a visit. The Hoe and the Barbican area of Plymouth are also well worth a visit, the view of Plymouth Sound from on top of the Hoe is fantastic. To the West along the coast you have the popular villages and towns of Looe, Polperro and Polruan and Fowey. All beautiful quaint Cornish coastal locations. If visiting Fowey avoid the crowds and car parking headaches by driving to Polruan on the East side of the Fowey river and get the foot ferry from the harbour over to Fowey. Everything in Fowey is walking distance. The car park at Polruan at the top of the hill is one of the most beautiful locations of any car park in the U.K. I would think! It looks out over St Austell Bay and down the Fowey River. Try it and see! On Wednesdays in the summer you can go on board a guided tour of the RNLI Lifeboat for a donation of your choice. To get to the North Coast of Cornwall is around 1 hour for places like Polzeath, Perranporth. St Ives a little further at about 1.5 hour drive. The Eden Project is about a 1 hour drive. Large supermarkets can be found at Liskeard (Morrisons) Saltash (Waitrose) Plymouth (Sainsbury's/Tesco/Asda). All but Morrisons do online ordering and home delivery to Downderry if you need to do a large grocery shop while you are here. So much to see and do both close by and a little further a field.
  • One of the nicest views I have ever woken up to! It was peaceful, relaxing and a couple minutes' walk to the beach. It was very clean and a perfect little couple's retreat.

    Louise2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views, cosy hideaway in a lovely village. Good location and value for money. Ideal for a few nights away from it all. Highly recommended.

  • Booked James place for a suprise present for my parents. They said they had a great time and enjoyed the amazing views from the apartment.

  • The whole loft was in perfect order and The cooking facilities were wonderful for us to have a home cooked meal and everything was in working order. Everything was wonderfully clean and felt like home and that all adds to the desire as a guest to leave it as we we found it. If you want a little nook and cranny to hide away then I’d whole heartedly recommend.

    Elliott2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft is a lovely place - just as the photos show you - the view is simply beautiful. It's a stone throw from the beach, the pub, eateries and local shop. My husband and I had a relaxing long weekend and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely night away in the Juniper Pod. Perfect quiet location with your own fireplace and cooking stove on the patio. The use of the hottub was also a great add on which I would recommend. Great for a romantic weekend away!

    Erica2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel and Victoria’s place was brilliant, the pod is located in a lovely garden far enough away from the other pods that you would think you were there alone. The hot tub was a lovely addition and David was an excellent host with quick replies and great tips for local walks and restaurants! Overall I would really recommend.

  • Beautiful setting, close enough to Plymouth if you want the city but also off the beaten track for total serenity and peace. Everything you need is there.

    Emma2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The most perfect night away for my one year anniversary with my boyfriend. From fire wood to fairy light lit hot tub at 8pm under the stars. A dreamy location which was perfect for a getaway and romantic night away. Both hosts were easy to contact, helpful (when we got lost in particular) and ever so friendly. We had a lovely tour around the venue before being dropped off to our beautiful pod. Little touches made it extra special. I would highly recommend a stay as it was just perfect and just what we needed. No TV or technology distraction just nature and serenity. Stunning! We already can’t wait to get back. Thanks again! ❤️

  • We had an amazing time staying in the ‘Juniper cozy pod’ enjoyed having a fire each night then sleeping with the electric blanket. Kept us warm and able to do this kind of stay in January. Very quiet, beautiful garden and surroundings and great hosts to stay with. We both felt very comfortable staying at your accommodation. Thank you!!

The highest village in Cornwall is Minions which is a mere 4 miles from Lestitha Farm on the south east corner of Bodmin Moor, and has a wealth of ancient archeological sites dating from the early bronze age onwards and they are really popular with walkers and hikers, these include the Hurlers, three stone circles dated at around 1500 BC, a line through the centre of them brings you to Rillaton Barrow a large burial mound. Alternatively on the top of Stowes Hill, overlooking Minions, you can see the Cheesering, a natural formation of balancing stones formed during the last ice age and by thousands of years of erosion, the name derives from the shape of the stones and will become patently obvious on viewing! The ancient stannary town of Liskeard is at the head of the Looe Valley and is approximately 12 miles east of Bodmin. Liskeard is one of the few remaining towns in Cornwall to still have a livestock market. It serves a number of small surrounding villages and is the gateway to Bodmin Moor. Liskeard is also the starting point of the Liskeard to Looe railway, one of the most scenic railway trips in the country and a delightful day out! Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A 30 is home to one of Cornwall's Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty. Reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwall's stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families. The National Lobster Hatchery at Padstow neighbours Rick Steins empire on the North Coast. The Bodmin and Wenford Railway, the first steam operated railway in Cornwall, takes in 13 miles of countryside. Also just outside Bodmin is the Camel Valley Vineyard who have been winning awards for their home grown wine for the past 20 years. The National Trust have a number of properties nearby - Lanhydrock House, Trerice, Cotehele and Antony (used for Disney's Alice in Wonderland), Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps. Slightly further afield is the Eden Project in St Austell. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. To the east is the Tamar Valley, a stunning, quiet, picturesque region with some beautiful villages including Calstock with its impressive Viaduct dominating the village, Calstock Quay was originally used for transportation of tin as there is a deep water navigable channel at the top of the tides, although the construction of the Tamar Valley Railway in the early 20th century led to most cargo being transported by rail. Further up stream is Morwellham Quay with its fantastic open air museum, Morwellham Quay has been awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO, the cultural arm of the UN, and is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape. Originally set up by the Benedictine Monks from Tavistock Abbey in 961 as a trading route to Plymouth via the Tamar. Tavistock is an ancient stannary and market town on the edge of Dartmoor and just across the border in Devon, it has a wealth of fine pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and tourist attractions.

  • My husband and I along with our spaniel Henry spent 4 nights in this cosy barn. Unfortunately the weather was quite bad and we were unable to use the Hot Tub but we made good use of the wood burner in the evening. Highly recommended! The views were amazing and was a great central location for travelling around Cornwall.

    Kate2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely space in a lovely location! The hot tub has a fantastic view and for days when it was wet and cold the fire was perfect. The scones on arrival and tips about the local area were great fully accepted. Everything was clean and tidy and there was everything needed for us to cook as well. Can't fault this place!

  • Fantastic weekend away in Cornwall. The Shippon was spotless when we arrived and Rita was very welcoming offering the traditional cream tea. The hot tub was a fantastic addition to the house and we spent nights relaxing under the stars. Would highly recommend The Shippon for a stay away!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Shippon and the location was fantastic just what we were looking for. The hot tub was amazing and used most evenings even though the weather wasn’t the best. The one clear night was amazing with all the stars out. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely go back again.

A place with space for your family or group of friends to get together to share memories and toast the future. Somewhere that’s homely with touches of luxury and features you just don’t get back home. Ernesettle House is that special place for your special occasion. A detached Grade II listed ex-naval officer’s house, it’s surrounded by plenty of green space, has amazing views and facilities that are ideal for family get-togethers or celebrations with friends. This section is entitled ‘the space’ and there really is plenty of it to talk about. Let’s start in the games room, the place where everyone is likely to want to gather at some point. There’s a bar area in here, so you can all take turns being landlord or landlady and serving up everyone’s favourite tipple. Sports fans will be in their element in here, with a pool table and dartboard. For guests who aren’t into games, or for those who’ve just lost at pool, there’s the quieter lounge area, a place to reflect and relax in front of the television after dinner or with the Sunday papers Speaking of dinner, if you decide against a takeaway and a few of your party have agreed to do the cooking, there’s a large, country-style kitchen fully equipped with everything required to feed everyone. And when the time comes to tuck in, there’s a table that seats 8 right in the centre of the kitchen and a smaller dining table at one end that seats four. As for the bedrooms, there’s six in total, two with ensuites but all with the kind of space and look and feel that wouldn’t look out of place in a plush hotel, such is the high spec finish and care and attention that’s gone into their presentation. If you don’t manage to grab one of the ensuites, don’t worry, the master bathroom is huge and bright, with a freestanding bathtub, and walk-in shower. That’s the inside space, so what about outside? The large front and rear garden feature a paved patio ideal for barbecues, grassy areas for ballgames, plus plenty of quiet places to catch some sun or enjoy some quiet shade. The view you get of the Tamar Bridge is a real highlight. GUEST ACCESS The house and its grounds are all yours for the duration of your stay. Its secluded location means there’s plenty of free parking for all guests. Please note that there is a working farm adjacent to the property which is strictly out of bounds. INTERACTION WITH GUESTS Ernesettle House is the kind of place that helps make special occasions even more memorable. And your hosts are determined to ensure your stay here does exactly that. You’ll be left free to enjoy the home and its grounds, safe in the knowledge that one of your hosts will make themselves available as soon as possible should you have a question or need assistance. THE NEIGHBOURHOOD Ernesettle House enjoys a fairly secluded location that’s just a couple of minutes drive from the A38, the road that runs through Devon and Cornwall. Because there aren’t any other homes close by, it makes the property an ideal place for a family celebration or a friends’ reunion. GETTING AROUND It’s entirely possible that you won’t want or need to leave Ernesettle House during your stay, except perhaps to pop out and stock up on food and drink. But should you be planning to take in some of the sights, then Plymouth Hoe and the City Centre are both less than 15 minutes away by car. HOUSE RULES Please, no smoking inside the house. As mentioned earlier, the location of this detached house makes it ideal for parties. But please have respect for the property and its contents, and ensure the celebrations finish at a decent time and any mess is tidied up afterwards. As a family friendly venue. Ernesettle House welcomes children. You can bring your pets too, although please clear up after them and don’t let them into the house with muddy paws or onto the beds or sofas. • What a wonderful house. We all had the best time. The kids played hide and seek endlessly, inside and outside. Many games of pool, table tennis and darts. Lots of delicious food shared in the large and super equipped kitchen, and we all slept so well in every bed! We loved every minute of our stay and woukd recommend this house to anyone wishing to get away as a large group. Wonderful!

    Aimee2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • This house suited our needs perfectly. The house is much bigger than expected with plenty of room to spread out. It's very well equipped and the secret staircase up the games room was a fantastic discovery. My crew and I had all planned to eat out but in the end we catered for ourselves it was a real success. Would definitely stay again.

  • The space was amazing and everything was in good order. We appreciated the extra fridge/freezer and oven. We didn’t explore the garden/outside area much as it was raining throughout the weekend.

  • Everything about Rosie's Retreat is perfect, from the stylish, cosy cabin (which is spotlessly clean) and the fantastic hot tub with beautiful views to the daily visits from Rosie the cat and all the wonderful tips provided. Rosie greeted us on arrival and visited us each day, adding a wonderful aspect to the stay. The most amazing thoughtful touches just make this place absolutely perfect and we can't wait to return in the future.

  • Amazing stay at Rosies Retreat, perfect relaxing get away, with the nicest little touches. Such a lovely host who was there for anything that we needed! Couldn’t of asked for a more wonderful stay. Will definitely be visiting again!

    Hannah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rosie's retreat was so so lovely. A warm welcome, easy check in, cake, biscuits and so much more on arrival. We couldn't have asked for more. Beautiful views of the cornish fields with sheep and horses around. Just the most relaxing time we've had in a long while!! Elizabeth is a great host and we can't wait to go back.

    Natalie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the hut. The hut was very clean and the little touches were lovely and thoughtful. Great communication from the host. Would absolutely recommend this place for a perfect little getaway in a beautiful setting. Very sad to leave on our last morning.

    Natalie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely cosy winter break here and were really impressed with the hut! It had everything we needed and we were really impressed by the thoughtful touches by Liz the host! She was really helpful and gave us loads of local recommendations! It was the perfect escape and we couldn’t recommend it enough!

    Matt2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the hut for 5 nights over New Year’s Eve and cannot fault the stay. Prior to the stay Elizabeth was really helpful with info about the stay and directions, and on arrival there were little treats for us which was lovely to arrive to after a long journey! The hut was spotless, warm and had a really homely feel. The hot tub was an added bonus! We got to meet Rosie the cat too, who was absolutely adorable. Elizabeth provided loads of information about the local area, like things to do and where to eat, which was really useful. We hope to go back to the hut in the near future - it was the perfect getaway

    Ellie2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! We stayed at Liz’s place for a relaxing break a few days before Christmas and it way exceeded our expectations! The Shepherd’s Hut is perfectly located, and is filled with loads of lovely touches - including fresh lemon cake and Prosecco! The hot tub is a delight after a day out walking. If you’re wondering whether to book...do it!

  • Margaret is an outstanding host. She is incredibly kind and caring and will make everybody feel welcome in her lovely home from check-in to check-out. She provides the guests with a nice breakfast and valuable advice on how to spend the time in Cornwall. Her house is very modern and clean, all rooms are well-equipped and spacious. It is located very close to some attractions of the area as well as a supermarket that can be used for all necessary shopping. Overall the stay was very memorable and i am happy to have met Margaret. When i come back to Cornwall I will definitely try to stay at her place again. 100% recommendation

    Jan2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret made me feel at home as soon as I arrived. Her bungalow is beautiful, absolutely spotless and clean and her garden is an English cottage garden vision of colour. I was able to park on the drive but there was also plenty of parking on the road in the quiet cup de sac. The bed was extremely comfortable and it is so quiet at night with no road or human noise so I slept really well. I am dairy & gluten free and Margaret bought food to ensure I had a wonderful breakfast each morning. I was able to sit at the table over looking the garden to eat my evening meal as I was travelling alone and didn’t feel comfortable eating out. When I am next visiting the area I will definitely stay here again.

The Yeworthy Eco-Treehouse is an incredible off-grid retreat. Nestled in a secluded setting amongst the tree-tops above a lake, it's the perfect hideaway for couples seeking a romantic escape. The treehouse is kept cosy with a log burner, while breakfast cereals and milk are provided. Guests enjoy exclusive use of the summer house which is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine of an evening, as well as the rowing boat on the lake (guests use at their own risk).
The treehouse is off-grid, meaning that fresh drinking water is provided from a bowser and cooking is on a gas camping stove which is provided. In keeping with its eco-credentials, a composting sawdust toilet house is located separately, a few meters away nestled amongst the trees. Please note **there are no showering facilities**. Guests will need to bring their own towels. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
The treehouse is completely secluded and private. Guests can enjoy complete tranquility and spot the deer, geese and other wildlife that have the forest as their home.

    Natalie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our perfect place! Spent the whole weekend in these beautiful surroundings . Walked all through the woods , hitched rides on the many tyre / rope swings ! The treehouse is perfectly warm , stunning views- I wanted to take that balcony view home ! Love the whole set up ! Made full use of the gas stove provided - sausage /bacon sandwiches for breakfast and steak for our dinner ! Rocky enjoyed many boats rides too and the sun even made an appearance ....So much wildlife , we seen Deer, ravens , Canadian geese, woodcock and plenty of toads in the lake . My husband bought his solar shower so we weren’t fussed about the no shower facilities ! We would absolutely love to come again in warmer weather too :)

  • Excellent stay in a lovely well thought out barn conversion. Very peaceful and relaxing, wonderfully rural in quiet surroundings (apart from the birds singing!). Scones, cream and home made jam supplied by the host were very, very welcome and much enjoyed as was the milk, tea, herbal tea and coffee (little touches that make a big difference). Our dog was made welcome and he also enjoyed his stay. Very comfortable bed, well laid out kitchen and great facilities, etc. Hope to visit again (& maybe the weather will be kinder!). Would definitely recommend as a place to visit and get away from it all

We have a quaint Devon home situated near beaches, Moors and cute villages. The house faces onto a road, but the room is at the back of the house so you can’t hear the traffic. We’re a stones throw away from Launceston which used to be the capital of Cornwall (there’s castle ruins!) Being in the southwest there is no public transport, so you’ll need to drive to get around. There is however a village shop that sells the essentials just a 3 minute walk from the house.
Our home is unique in the fact that we are pretty much on the border of Cornwall and Devon. So we’re in an ideal location in regards to all the fab places you’ll want to visit while you’re here.
Our little village is quite adorable. There is a little post office which you can get a few bits like milk and bread if you don’t want to drive to the shops. The people are super friendly and if you really wanted, there is a village hall which has activities like yoga and boules for those who want the PROPER village experience ;)

We were able to use the bathroom to ourselves which was great too. Breakfast was beautifully laid out, plenty of options and we were able to prepare our own self-service breakfast which was great. An ideal stay for a weekend away in North Cornwall

Tucked away in a quiet rural location, enjoying breathtaking views across the Kensey Valley, these beautifully converted barn apartments offer stylish, luxury self-catering holiday accommodation. Perfect for dog owners, couples and families alike, they provide an ideal base for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer.
Sleeps 2 + Cot With a private fenced garden area, Kylden is the ideal apartment for guests with anything that might otherwise escape (dog/toddler!) The front stable door leads directly into the newly refurbished kitchen/eating area, with Nespresso machine, open beamed ceiling & terracotta tiled floor. There is one step up into the spacious living area (with a wooden gate if you need to keep your furry friend in the kitchen!). With open beamed ceiling, cosy woodburner & solid oak floor, this characterful space is the perfect place to relax after a day’s exploring, or just to snuggle down under a blanket with a good book. Through a partition curtain, guests will find the 5ft canopied bed with down mattress topper, and newly upgraded ensuite bathroom with a shower over the 10 jet whirlpool bath. Dogs are most welcome at Kylden, and with a huge fenced paddock adjacent to the property, you don't even need to get out of your pyjamas to go for a walk!
One of the benefits of being in such a central location is that there are literally hundreds of places to visit on a day trip from Landrends. Definitely too many to list here! The nearest beach (Crackington Haven) is a 20 minute drive, but a number of North and South coast beaches & walks are less than an hour's drive. The Eden project is a 45 minute drive, and both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are 20 minutes drive. It is also worth looking online at visitcornwall.com, and the National Trust website.
  • Amazing little space with a lovely fire and beautiful welcome basket! Really dog friendly which our little pup loved. Fenced in little area right by the barn which would be perfect in summer and a massive field to exercise your dog in as well. The whole place was spotlessly clean when we arrived and there was a full basket of logs. There were loads of local amenities advertised in a really helpful little welcome pack and loads of food etc offered. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone I know and especially anyone with dogs!

    Albert2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy barn. The log burner was great in the evenings for cuddling up in front of the tv with some bubbles. The place was very clean. Perfect place to take your dog, there was a basket with blankets and treats and an outside courtyard which was gated. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our own food. We had takeaway the first night which we collected from the town that was 5 mins away. We visited Boscastle and tintagel castle - both lovely. Great views, great walks, perfect for dogs. I would definitely visit here again!

  • Kylden was a lovely cosy place to stay, especially in the winter after a cold wet walk at Boscastle to come back and light the fire. The whole set up is incredibly dog friendly with a massive paddock right next door for the pooch to run around in. The welcome pack provided had loads of information about local attractions and the best places to eat, which we definitely wouldn’t have found otherwise. The Barns are only a five minute drive from the A30 and incredibly easy to get to. Amy and Steve were great hosts and were really attentive. Thank you and we will be back!

Hawks House is located 10 miles from Crackington Haven, which is included in the best surfing beaches in England and was recommended by the Marine Conservation Society in its Good Beach Guide. The scenery in the beach area of the surrounding majestic cliffs is almost un-rivalled. At high tide, the beach is a mass of quartz-veined pebbles and large boulders but at low tide, it reveals an expanse of sand and many rock pools. Only the road separates the sea from a couple of beach shops, two superb beach cafes and a public house with a restaurant and fantastic terrace.Fifteen minutes further up the coast is Bude, a popular tourist destination for both its surfing and fantastic family beaches in Widemouth Bay. The watchful eye of the RNLI lifeguards allows for some of the best surfing in the world alongside swimming and a whole host of water-based activities. Bude today is a lovely sea-side town, the main shopping streets and inter-connecting alleyways play host to a wide range of locally owned shops, restaurants and pubs. There are boutiques, shoes, arts & crafts, jewellery, hand-made gifts and souvenirs.A few miles inland is Bodmin Moor, one of Cornwall's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cornwall at its wildest and rich in ancient history, Bodmin Moor stretches for 30 miles through the heart of the County of Cornwall and offers spectacular walking and horse riding. With easy access to the both the A30 and the Atlantic Highway you can quickly travel up and down the South-West to enjoy some of the larger tourist attractions that Devon and Cornwall have to offer. To the west lies the stunning and infamous village of Boscastle, it is a tiny port set in a narrow ravine, the town came into prominence recently as a result of terrible floods in the summer of 2004. In the village there is a pottery, a museum of witchcraft and several gift shops. A footpath to the left of the quayside will take you to the 'Lookout' which is a wonderful vantage point from which to view the rugged coastline. Boscastle was once a favourite meeting place of the author Thomas Hardy, and is the location for one of his novels 'A Pair of Blue Eyes'. Boat trips can be taken from the harbour as far as Long Island, where during the breeding season you may see razorbills, puffins & guillemots. There is a demanding 7 mile coastal path walk between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. There are several attractions along this stretch of coast including Strangles beach at the bottom of a large landslip with a rock arch the Northern Door. Just south of here is High Cliff which is the highest point on the Cornish coast path. Don't forget to visit Pentargon inlet which has an imposing waterfall that cascades down to the sea below.Trethevy is a delightful hamlet, equidistant from Boscastle and Tintagel and has a history which may well go back to 250 AD when a granite post was inscribed with C DOMI N GALLO ET VOLUS – ‘For the Emperor Caesars our lords Gallus and Volusian' this can now be found outside St Piran a former monastery and now private residence, Trethevy is also home to St Nectans Glen a beautiful valley where the River Trevillet has carved its way through the slate and formed a beautiful 60' waterfall.Brown Willy and Roughtor are two fantastic tors and excellent walks, being the highest points in Cornwall the views are stupendous. Bowithick is also worth a visit to marvel at it's quirky bridge and history that dates back to the Domesday book.On Bodmin Moor, Dozmary pond is thought to contain Arthur's Excalibur, and Merlin is thought to be still found walking under Tintagel Island. Camelford is a great centre for touring, walking, fishing, swimming or surfing holidays. The town is steeped in history and has excellent shopping and sporting facilities. Port Isaac is the location of the televisions series Poldark and more recently Doc Martin, as well as being a gorgeous working fishing village. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. The famous Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths for 18 miles, providing the whole family with a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge, and out to Padstow where you can sample Rick Steins famous Fish and Chips. The market town of Launceston was the historic capital of Cornwall and well worth a visit to see the church of St Mary Magdelene, with granite carvings, unusual among Cornish churches, the Norman Castle and a wide variety of independent shops and cafes.
  • Such a lovely place which gives you plenty of options to explore Cornwall!

  • This is a beautiful cottage and we had a fantastic break here with our little black lab Milly. The cottage is very nicely done and the log burner is a bonus. Getting back after a cold and windy day out to just chill in front of the fire with a drink or two in the evening was just perfect. Definitely a perfect place to stay for two (and a dog).

  • Arrived on a cold February evening to find the fire alight and fresh flowers on the table. Beautiful barn conversation with lovely furnishings and everything needed for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Great WiFi connection. Lovely coastal and inland walks just a few minutes walk away. Would love to return, thank you!

  • I booked a weekend stay at Hawks house as a surprise for my partners birthday and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s set in a beautiful, peaceful location with lots of stunning beaches and fishing towns close by. I received quick responses from Richard & the house was stunning inside. Highly recommend!

  • A little gem! We had a beautiful stay at Hawks House. The cottage has been very thoughtfully renovated and is cosy and homely with everything you need. The log burner was already on when we arrived which was a lovely touch. The grounds are beautiful and such a peaceful setting. We did not want to leave and will absolutely be returning.

    Rebecca2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful one week stay at Hawks House. The cottage was warm and welcoming and the wood burner was a lovely addition for some colder autumn nights. The place was characterful, spotlessly clean and with good amenities. The location allows the feeling of truly being 'away from it all', whilst actually being a short drive from beaches, the coastal path and numerous towns. From the front door there are also numerous walks on offer, including to the nearby pub (around 30 minutes).

  • Staying at The Roundhouse is an absolute must. It is in a great location, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so welcoming, helpful and accommodating. We were left a card and some bubbly to congratulate us on our recent wedding which was a lovely personal touch. We couldn’t recommend it enough and only wish that we could have stayed longer!

A recently refurbished one bedroom flat with a separate entrance from the main house. We are operating a strict social distancing policy when guests arrive & during their stay. The flat is being thoroughly cleaned & disinfected after each guest leaves. The flat consists of a lounge, a well appointed new kitchen & double en-suite bedroom. The flat is within walking distance of Derriford hospital as well as being on a main bus route. There is free on street parking directly outside the flat.
NOT RELEVANT DURING THE CORONA CRISIS There is an extremely good pub/restaurant within easy walking distance from the flat.
  • Lovely place with all the amenities I needed, very cosy for one person or a couple, great location for the hospital/surrounding area (if you're here for work) or getting up to the moors (if you're here for a break). Would stay again and recommend to others!

We are delighted to have relocated to Devon & offer a lovely bedroom, with (seasonal u/f heated) en-suite in our beautiful barn just 1.5 miles from the A30 near Launceston. We live a green ethos & offer generous Vegan & Veggie breakfasts with homemade bread & conserves. The Atlantic coast, Dartmoor & Bodmin are 25/30” drive & the wonderful heritage of Devon & Cornwall are very accessible. The perfect stopover for a long journey, or a few days, as an informal, welcoming space to relax & enjoy.
We love welcoming our guests to this beautiful barn conversion, it’s both spacious & quirky with granite corbels & oak floors, a wood burning stove & underfloor heating for the cooler months. It’s upside down living with the living areas above and bedrooms below. We have heaps of homegrown veg and love to make our own bread, conserves and pickles and wholesome meals from scratch.
Dovecote is one of a series of barn conversions around a (disused) farmyard. There remains a small farmyard with barns behind our back garden from which we hear the occasional moos and clucks that we find rather delightful. We are located just inside the Devon border with Cornwall and are both rural but also close to main routes and the ancient Cornish town of Launceston (of John Causley fame) which has all the amenities one could hope for. We are still constantly surprised at how accessible everywhere is and how wonderful it is to be able to choose between the amazingly beautiful Dartmoor & Bodmin, & the stunning Atlantic Coast, both so easy to reach.
  • Sue and Malcolm were warm and welcoming right from the start. Their barn conversion is stunning and the room was lovely. Highly recommended space and wonderful people. We hope to stay with them again in the future.

    Richard2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Malcolm are delightfully warm and welcoming hosts. The accommodation is spotless and so comfortable; breakfast is delicious; the location is perfect for exploring the region; and Freya the spaniel and Leila the cat are friendly and well behaved. I highly recommend a stay here.

  • What a great place with super hosts. The house is just lovely with loads of character and in an amazing spot. Excellent amenities and breakfast delicious. We got lost trying to find the house and both Sue and Malcolm went out their way to ensure we got to them! Freya the dog 🐶 very friendly. 💚

  • A really warm welcome, comfortable and clean, Sue and Malcolm really did go out of their way to accommodate our varied dietary requirements - one vegan and one non-dairy - really good ambience and feel to the place..

    Sarah2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • outstanding in every way! very welcoming and genuine people. We enjoyed our stay and was indeed pleasant. Everything is just a drive away from the place, very commutable and easy to navigate around the local area too. We will be coming back again and can 100% recommend it! Thank you. * * * * *

    Syed2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sue & Malcolm were so welcoming and such a pleasure to talk to after such a long day of driving. We were shown to our room which was spotlessly clean with an incredibly comfy bed and the overall home was immaculate. They have 2 pets, Layla the cat and Freya the dog who were adorable. It was so lovely to have vegan biscuits available with different plant milks to choose from. The breakfast that Sue made was absolutely delicious - fresh fruit, homemade bread and jams, vegan sausages/bacon! We felt like this was a home away from home and wished that we could’ve stayed longer. We hope to visit again one day in the future!

    Dale2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Malcom are lovely and friendly hosts, good communication and quick response on a short notice booking, I was made very welcome during my stay in their beautiful decorated converted barn in a rural setting, only a stone throw away from A30, Enjoyed my first vegan breakfast; with plenty of freshly made coffee, toast from homemade bread and jams. I have enjoyed the whole experience of staying and will be returning next time passing through.

On the ground floor and featuring a picturesque rose garden courtyard, Caradow is a cosy & relaxing retreat. Light and airy with floor to ceiling windows in both the bedroom & living area, it gets the best of the Cornish sunshine, whatever the season. The attractive stable front door leads into the kitchen, then one step up to the living/dining area, with electric woodburner & solid oak floors. With antique pine furniture, solid oak floor & a 5ft canopied bed with memory foam mattress topper, the double bedroom has a distinctly fresh, nautical feel, complete with feature ‘porthole’ window to the living area. A separate bathroom boasts an 8 jet whirlpool bath with overhead shower. Dogs are most welcome at Caradow, and with a huge fenced paddock adjacent to the property, you don't even need to get out of your pyjamas to go for a walk!
  • Our stay was exceptional at Amy and Steve’s Airbnb. Their directions were spot on, a lovely drive up and the check in process was simple. We stayed alongside my husbands parents which worked perfectly. Both caradow and skybar were spotless and beautiful inside. They had so much character and the decor so beautifully done. Bed was very comfortable, shower/bath sparkling and powerful - what you need after hours out enjoying the stunning Cornish countryside! Great location between loads of great things to do, went to three great dog friendly pubs nearby. Our dog was welcome and loved her stay and it was all well maintained. Lovely little touches throughout. We just need to work out when we can come back! Everything we love about Cornwall and UK holidays in one perfect apartment. Don’t miss out on this gem you won’t be disappointed!

    Laura2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's place is great, the photos do not do justice, lovely living spaces, everything is good quality and well thought out, great location.

  • This is the perfect stay for a calm and relaxing escape. The surroundings are stunning, hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We couldn’t fault it. Was just what we needed.

    Lisa2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic apartment, in a great location perfect for visiting Cornwall. Amy as a host was great, with quick responses on any questions and being flexible when we needed to change the dates. The apartment was clean and tidy with everything we needed for our stay. Sidney our dog even got dog biscuits to make his stay more enjoyable. Will defiantly come back in the summer to make the most of the local walking routes and beaches.

    Chris2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing getaway in the countryside, room is bigger than pictures showed, we went with a German shepard and had plenty of space. Amy the host is fantastic and nothing is to much trouble. The welcome pack with suggestions is also great if you aren't from the area. Will defo reccomennd and use Again

  • Beautiful and cozy home in an idyllic setting. Was very clean and comfortable.

    Carmen2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay! The barn/cottage is incredibly clean, beautifully furnished and it smells amazing! Amy and Steve were really welcoming and lovely to chat to. They have prepared for everything: A huge stack of DVDs in the utility room for you to choose from, hundreds of leaflets for local attractions, washing machine and dryer if you need, they even put a travel cot and a high chair in the house so that we didn't need to worry about bringing them. I can't explain how beautiful the cottage is, we sell in love instantly. We hope to visit again next year.

    Leona2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a stunning place! We loved our stay at Caradow - the barn was lovely and clean, every room was thought about carefully and was very stylish! The doggy blankets for the sofa were a nice touch (we normally do bring our own!) But it was nice for the dogs to be thought about too even down to welcome treats being provided. We had biscuits, tea and coffee provided also - the coffee is now our new favourite and we have quickly realised since coming home that you can only get this from Cornwall! I've said to my partner that we must now make another visit to go and get some rather than pay the £2.50 delivery on their website!! We cooked a full English every morning so the kitchen has everything you need to cook breakfast / lunch / dinner. The outside paddock area was great for throwing the ball for our dogs and the picnic area was also very nice! We put a blanket down one evening so we could look at the beautiful view of the fields behind the house which was rather special! Launceston was a quick and easy drive for everything you need from a Tesco for food and petrol to takeaways and pubs etc. Caradow is also a perfect place for exploring the coast, we took a drive to Crackington Haven which was stunning, Unfortunately dogs aren't allowed on the beach there so we took the coastal path which was breathtaking! We then took a trip to the next village of boscastle and the following day we drove to Tintagel and took the coastal path to Trebarwith and had a lovely lunch looking out on the sea at a pub there. We had a perfect 3 days staying at Caradow the only regret we have is not asking where the pigs were kept so we could feed them our scraps! If we plan to come to Launceston again, we will definitely be coming back here! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My Maisonette is a listed building and on 2 levels. It's a little quirky and in the middle of town with minutes walk to everything you could need - banks, library, pubs, bakeries, butchers, coffee shops, cafes, takeaways, shops. There is a castle, free museum and surrounded by countryside. Launceston is just off the A30. DIY breakfast included. I also have a double room listed in this property which may be booked during your stay, therefore you could be sharing the facilities with other guests.
I provide a DIY breakfast with several options. Guests may also cook themselves eggs if they wish. Also, feel free to bring in a takeaway for evening meals or use my kitchen facilities to cook yourself something. No shower. BATH ONLY.
  • I had the single room for the evening and my stay was very pleasant. Victoria is a very friendly and conscientious host and made me feel right at home. The town house has character and is warm and inviting. The only minor drawback is the arrangement of the bathroom being upstairs and off from her bedroom (which also doesn't have a shower but this is expected as it's stated on the listing page) so I was mindful of not waking her when running the bath in the morning (!)

    Sarah2020-01-11T00:00:00Z

  • Victoria’s place is fantastic with lots of character. It was a relaxing place to stay for a work trip. Launceston is a quaint and safe place and it would be great for a leisure trip too if you want to be in the country. Plymouth is about one hours bus journey away via the 12 bus. Check in was made easy with the directions provided via Airbnb messaging beforehand and she waited for me when the train was delayed which I really appreciated. Victoria is a pleasant and calm character whose hospitality put me right at ease. The single room was pretty and just the right size for one person. Noise filtering from outside was moderate. I didn’t have to use earplugs. The breakfast was great, cereals were in airtight containers with the cardboard cutout of names on them so you knew what you were eating, could look up ingredients and they didn’t go soggy. There was bread, porridge, teas and cafetiere provided for coffee. She told me I could use the kitchen to cook if I wanted. I didn’t use this, but it was nice to know. Victoria had offered to get dairy free milk which was thoughtful. I was okay buying this. There’s a Co-op, a large Tesco and a few artisan coffee shops closeby within a 14 minute walking distance at most. Whilst I was there for 4 nights the Wifi cut out just once, I was shown how to reconnect this and it was easy to fix. The TV had been unavailable during my stay, this didn’t bother me as there are plenty of interesting and quirky books to read and Wifi. There’s only a bath here with no shower. I was expecting this from the description. It was relaxing to soak in it at night after work. After a 4 night stay, I left Victoria’s feeling recharged and ready for the next destination.

The Water Mill is close to the North Cornwall coast, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor on the banks of the river Tamar. The building is steeped in history and is named in the Doomsday Book. You’ll love the location, the ambiance, and the views. My place is good for couples. Peaceful and quiet with beautiful gardens to relax in, grazing for horses, fishing in the Tamar, picturesque countryside to explore and numerous places to visit nearby; you will really love it here.
The Water Mill is a grade 2 listed building - last used to mill grain in 1943. The machinery and many of the tools used for milling remain in place. The accommodation combines modern facilities and absolute comfort, amidst the historic setting of the Mill.
This is a rural community, peaceful and quiet.
  • Wow, this place is SPECIAL! If you are looking for a remote hideaway in stunning countryside but with all the mod cons then this is the place. We had 3 nights here and wish we had more. The Mill has been beautifully converted and has retained lots of the old charm of the building but is incredibly comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen has everything you need, like a home from home - or better! And the upstairs open plan living area is stunning. You have access to the main house's gardens and lots of lovely footpaths nearby leading to the river and local woodland. It's a truly magical spot and Maureen and Paul are really friendly and incredibly accommodating. We will certainly be returning again to Boyton Mill for more R&R time. Thank you sharing such a special place. Alex & Lanx

  • Fantastic place to stay...great value for money....can’t recommend it enough.....

    John2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Watermill is very well restored to give a very cosy place. The upstairs is a very large space with the lounge and bedroom with a huge Queen cosy bed. The log burner is a plus but however not necessarily needed as heating very efficient. The kitchen has all equipment needed for your stay. Its location is quiet next to river Tamar & surrounded by fields & a small wood. Its ideal for couples who want to get away with great walks or an easy drive to Bodmin moor and Bude on northern coast of Cornwall.

  • We had a lovely stay in this beautifully well restored mill. Modern, quirky and cosy in beautiful surroundings. Exactly what we were after. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet escape to the country.

The Weekender is a contemporary space,38sqm with stunning views all round step through the door and relax. The decor is stylish, comfortable, a beautiful haven to sit and contemplate the breathtaking surroundings from. Described by a recent guest as "The most beautiful small space they'd ever stayed in" It can be difficult to do anything here other than unwind. But if you can drag yourself away from this little gem it's a great place to explore North Cornwall's diverse delights from.
The Weekender really is a delight, tucked away with views that will take your breath away. My clever husband built this little beauty last year and it evolved into something unique. With our skills and experience in various design projects we have created something we feel is very special. The interior is both cosy but spacious and is filled with lovely finishes that give a high quality and a fabulous feel. It is a very romantic hideaway - ideal for couples. It can be hard to leave to explore the area as it is possible to just sit for hours and and enjoy the space.
Crackington Haven lies in the Parish of St Gennys in North Cornwall. It is a wonderful escape from the hectic side of life. If you don't feel like venturing too far then there are wonderful short and long walks right outside the door. The Weekender sits right on the Southwest coast path - arguably - on one of the most beautiful and dramatic parts of the coast both North and South right here. Crackington has 2 cafes and a good pub - eat and drink overloooking the beautiful beach and giant cliffs. There is a good local shop / PO and a garage just 3 miles from here where you can purchase most things to keep you going! Bude is just 10 miles from The Weekender which is a lovely seaside town with some good shops to wander around and plenty of cafes. Boscastle and Tintagel are approx 6/7 miles south of Crackington offering picturesque harbours, castles and villages. Port Isaac (Port Wenn) is approx 40 mins drive where the popular Doc Martin is filmed - you can wander the tiny streets and recognise your favourite bits! Padstow and Rock are fairly close by with Rick Stein's delicious Fish and chips being the first port of call especially if you've cycled the Camel Trail from Wadebridge or beyond. Further afield are many places to explore The Eden project is about an hours drive and well worth a visit. Closer to home on the edge of Bodmin Moor are Roughtor and Brown Willy- 2 fabulous walks / scrambles with beautiful granite features to admire. Roughtor car park is just a 25 min drive from The Weekender it can be hard to tear yourself away but it's definitely worth the effort.
  • What a beautiful place and location Sarah was the perfect host I had a wonderful stay and would 100 percent reccommend and return

    Nela2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing find! . This place has a great vibe, I could sit and look out over the sea for days and not get bored of it. The weekender is a stylish, spotlessly clean place, with everything you need for a cosy break away. Sara was a great host and I would recommend anyone looking for a peaceful get away to try the Weekender. If you do be sure to give Boscastle farm shop up the road a visit, it’s possibly the best farm shop/cafe we have ever visited.

    Devinia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A stylish cabin/small house set in the beautiful countryside. Ideal if you like walking and being away from the hustle of the tourist spots. The hosts live close by and extremely friendly and helpful. The only slight negative was the bed was only assessable from one side so I had to wake my husband up in the night when I got up to pay a visit. Everything else was perfect, spotlessly clean, amazing views, good WIFi with film selections. Would definitely revisit.

    Julie-Ann2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolute gem! Tucked beautifully out of the way and such a stylish accommodation. All the mod cons and the host was lovely with great directions to the accommodation.

  • Sara is really great host. She was helpful and very kind. Her place is amazing, bright and very clean.I definitely recommend see this place

    Daniela2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional views and exceptional hideaway. Loved every second we spent there. Sara was a lovely host, my partner and I both caught her separate times and she was lovely to us both, made sure we had everything we needed which we did already thanks to her!! Highly recommend to those looking to escape and spend time together. Welcome book recommended a restaurant I didn’t find online turned out to be a great restaurant with lovely food, very thankful for that! Visited St. Neclans Glen too to look at the waterfalls, lovely walk. Nothings to far away, easy drive. Will definitely be returning.

    Amelia2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I dont even know where to start. The property was absolutely beautiful and even more stunning than I imagined. It is very much out of the way but believe me that's part of its magic. Sara has thought of everything. Everything you need to cook, relax or be comfy or sit and watch Netflix is available. We bought our food shop on the way down which is recommended. The place is so peaceful we even want to leave to explore! Very very very clean and a lot of attention to detail. Bed comfy and very homely feeling. Favourite place I have stayed at out of all the airbnb properties I have stayed at!

  • What a beautiful escape in a very convenient location. Secluded but convenient at the same time....a gateway to North Cornwalls attractions. I can’t recommend Sara’s place highly enough......communication was 1st class too. Sara couldn’t have been more helpful and made our stay very pleasant. Will certainly be returning sometime

We have a standard single, a double-room and a King Size room for up to 5 guests. We are close Tavistock, Dartmoor, Plymouth and the North Cornwall coast. We cater for singles/couples, and business travellers. We can take and collect guests from inns and restaurants within a 5 mile radius of our home. We keep poultry, and guests may like to collect their own eggs for breakfast when available. Continental breakfast is included or a cooked breakfast available for additional cost.
Guests have a single bed with use of the guest bathroom adjacent to the bedroom. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, handbasin, bath and loo. Guests have sole use of the sitting room with TV and an inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. The wood burners are lit in the autumn and winter months. A selection of bottled beers and wines are available for a suggested donation however we do ask that red wine is not taken upstairs but is consumed in the dining or sitting room areas. We are lucky to have several inns and restaurants nearby that serve good food and your hosts are happy to take and collect guests within a 5 mile radius for a small donation. We have a fairly large garden with places to sit and read, have a coffee or a glass of something. In the summer the lawn is usually set up for garden croquet which guests are welcome to play between themselves or with the hosts. We don’t provide evening meals but guests are welcome to collect a takeaway from town and eat in the dining room or if they wish there is a barbecue that can be lit if required. Continental breakfast is included and provided in the dining room with a toaster and coffee and tea making facilities. Cooked breakfast can be provided by prior arrangement for an additional fee.
We are within a hamlet set in a rural location. There are views from to the east over Dartmoor. Our neighbourhood is friendly and all of our neighbours are well versed with helping each other out when needed. Although being only 2.25 miles from Tavistock we would strongly advise that guests coming to Cherry Tree Cottage either have their own transport or make alternative arrangements before arrival as we are not on a bus route.
  • Steve snd Suzie have a lovely cottage with good bedrooms and a lovely sitting room with wood burner and also breakfast room with a wood burner. Really nice waking up to the sound of the birds in the countryside. Will definitely look to stay here again

  • Lovely cottage and two wonderful hosts who will do everything to make your stay homely 👍🏼

    Alena2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and Suzie are a very lovely and welcoming couple. very hospitable and the location of the cottage is wonderful, in one of the best locations in Great-Britain. Don't hesitate to book with them. I would suggest to upgrade to the premium breakfast to take advantage of the nice eggs from their own hens, and the homemade jam. They have attention for detail and some things in the room I found very handy, for example the USB power connector near the night stand and the touch-lamp! I had a very pleasant stay and they are lovely people.

    Patrick2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Superb house and lovely couple. Highly recommended.

    Laurie2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and Suzie are superb people first and foremost. A stay with them will feel just like home. The room has everything you’ll need with a wonderfully comfortable bed and the bathroom is outstanding! Breakfast was an added bonus, as well as the interesting conversations too!

    Luke2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and Suzie are really lovely people. They were very welcoming on arrival and made me feel right at home. Their cottage is beautiful and in a lovely setting. My room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The cottage is in a very quiet location so I slept really well. Suzie made me a delicious breakfast each morning and offered to drive me places for a small fee instead of getting a taxi as the taxis are very expensive. I honestly don’t have one bad thing to say about myself, I thoroughly enjoyed it and they even gave me a bag of their freshly picked tomatoes to nibble on my long journey home. Very lovely and thoughtful people! I highly recommend staying here.

My country cottage is situated in the beautiful Tamar valley between Dartmoor/Bodmin moor. This is my second bedroom . The room has its own private bathroom. You have free access to the sitting room, dining room, and garden. Friendly local pub serving good food. Scenic walks. 3 miles Callington 15 miles Plymouth. Drive to beautiful beaches within fourty minutes. Must be dog lover as I live here full time with my two Tibetan terriers. Dogs welcome.
  • My daughter and I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful Cornish cottage. Rosemary is a lovely host and we would highly recommend. Very useful to have the pub just opposite. Great value as the stay included a very nice breakfast

Great company for a chat and her guest room is cosy with a most comfortable bed. Everything is perfect from the parking to the breakfast. Faultless actually.

  • Look no further folks for a beautiful character filled cottage. Rosemary is absolutely lovely and made me feel welcome and at home. A really lovely room comfortable bed bathroom right next to room I couldn't have wished for better!

    Lisa2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • A very memorable evening at Rosemary's well appointed cottage; spent sitting around the open fire chatting; with three happy dogs, two hers and one ours. Rosemary is a remarkable host and a captivating conversationalist who made us all three - including our wolf hound - feel very welcome. We enjoyed talking to her and loved meeting her cute Tibetan Terriers. The bedroom was cosy and the bed most comfortable to sleep in. Lots of lovely pictures around the house. For dinner we walked with the hound to the local pub The Carpenters Arms which turned out to be a bit of a dog heaven! Very tasty seafood. Overall, a fantastic stay. Thank you, Rosemary!

Lovely modern bathroom, cosy bedroom and stylish living space, all right above some of the best restaurants and bars in Plymouth. A blend of rural charm and modern comforts, The Cottage offers a warm welcome and relaxing place to rest and unwind. Nestled down a country lane yet within easy reach of some of the West Country's best sandy beaches, wild moors, medieval market towns and other popular attractions, it's a great base from which to explore the glorious Devon and Cornish countryside. Ideal for romantic getaways, short breaks and family holidays.
Once home to shire horses Prince and Tidy, this former stable and hayloft has been lovingly and sympathetically restored to create a cosy, comfortable space for guests to enjoy. Three stone steps lead up to The Cottage and its own private stable door entrance. On the ground floor, there is an open plan living area with feature stone fireplace and wood burner, as well as a small kitchen with electric oven, induction hob, fridge with icebox and integrated slimline dishwasher. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one king size and one single, and a bathroom.
Virginstow is a peaceful hamlet, surrounded by open fields and farmland, with only one road running through it. At its heart stands St. Bridget's, a Grade II listed church dating back to the 12th Century. Part of the Diocese of Truro, St. Bridget's is uniquely one of only two churches in the diocese found in the county of Devon. There are several public footpaths in the hamlet and a short walk down the hill is the River Carey and ford, where you will find the old disused railway line and road bridge. Wild life is also abundant and at certain times of the year wild orchids are common. Our 'locals' are The Village Inn at Ashwater, or Pint & Post in St.Giles-on-the-Heath. Both offer generous portions of typical English 'pub grub' and a warm welcome to all. We can also recommend other places to eat and visit, in and around the local area.
  • Well, what can I say! What an absolutely beautiful home. Everything is sparkling clean and cosy! My partner and I stayed for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed for longer! From the complimentary milk, eggs and homemade lemon drizzle cake (which was delicious!), to the beautiful decor in every room, this is certainly a special place to spend your time. Sarah was a fantastic host, providing any answers to questions incredibly quickly - thank you for your generous hospitality. We will most certainly be looking to book again in the future!

Our first port of call was to watch the sun go down in their private hot tub, lovely touch. Do contact them as we had difficulty finding the property as out sat nav or google maps wouldn’t bring it up. Beautiful relaxing place if you wish to get away from it all. A return is a must. • A beautiful bungalow with an enclosed safe garden for our dog for a nice relaxing weekend. Lovely homely touches of clotted cream, milk and bread on arrival and extra treats for our dog. We made the most of visiting the local area and didn’t let the weather stop us. Tintagel is so close by and St Nectans glen for a wonderful and magical walk. Can revoke d the red post inn in bude for an evening meal. The children loved having their own room and playing the games in the living room. We would definitely recommend it for a lovely family break. Thank you x

  • For a last minute decision to go away we couldn't have landed on our feet any better!! Met at the door, even after 10 at night, to a warm welcoming cottage it was a great clean and modern space to chill out at. Easy access to the coast and allowing us to visit Tintagel castle options were a plenty. Storage for bikes and boards is available and plenty of space for the dog to run round outside in a safe place. The tea, coffee and milk were very much appreciated in the morning. A wonderful spot, very comfy, very well priced! Thank you very much

  • We were greeted by Maurice who showed us around and we were very pleased we had chosen to stay at the Sunny View Lodge! There were lots of thoughtful touches including fresh bread, eggs, butter, jam, juice and milk. The Lodge had absolutely everything you need for a long or short stay. We were particularly impressed with how clean and tidy the Lodge was. It has been very well thought out and feels very homely and cosy. The location was ideal for a quiet getaway as you cannot hear a thing day or night! Maurice and Susan are incredible hosts and truly go above and beyond for their guests! We would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again!

  • Maurice and Susan are delightful hosts and I thoroughly enjoyed my brief 2 night stay. They seemed to have thought of everything and I arrived to find Sunny View lovely and warm and so welcoming. Fresh bread, butter, eggs, juice, jam and clotted cream for me and comfy beds, bowls, towels and treats for my 2 dogs. Maurice even added some extra meshing to the bottom of the front gates so my escape artist terriers couldn't do a runner 😀. The whole place was sparkling clean and lots of lovely little touches. Super smart TVs and a selection of books and games. I can highly recommend Sunny View and I'll be returning again next year. Thank you Maurice and Susan.

  • Angela’s place is very peaceful, clean with amazing views. Loved the little chickens, cats and horses roaming around too. If you’re not local and don’t know the area that well, there isn’t much around locally, so you will definitely need a car to venture out to other areas. We had an amazing Sunday roast in a lovely pub called St Tudy’s Inn, which is about 40 min drive.

    Gemyonce2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • A little gem in the countryside. Warm and comfortable with a great welcome from Angela. We made some surprisingly good meals including vegetarian cooked breakfast using only the microwave, as there is no hob or oven. Lovely peaceful views of fields and trees and beautiful horses to look at. Easy parking right next to the property.

  • An absolutely beautiful place and great views!

    Stefanie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the shepherds hut! It has all the amenities you could need, and then so more - plenty of towels, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, extra blankets etc. Very modern and well styled, and also very warm!! Definitely make good use of the hot tub, what a way to spend the evening. Check in was easy - we arrived quite late in the evening, and the key was in the door ready waiting for us, which is exactly what you want after a long journey. There was also homemade scones with cream and jam, as well as Cornish tea and milk waiting for us - such a lovely touch and again, perfect after a 4 hour drive. We found the location great, it felt like we were never too far away from anywhere that we wanted to visit. Communication with Ross and Becky was great, replies were always prompt and although we didn't bump into them during our stay we felt well looked after and confident that if we needed anything we could easily contact them. Thank you both, we're already planning our next visit!

  • Such a beautiful Shepard’s hut! The location is idyllic and the inside is just as amazing. The scones were a lovely touch on arrival and you can see all the thought that went into the hut. Will definitely be recommending and returning soon!

  • Fantastic and unique way to spend the weekend. We did a fair bit of research and I think this may be one of a very few select places to stay like this. All very clean, warm and lovely especially with the hot tub which we spent a good few hours in during a freezing storm in the dark getting rained on. Brilliant experience

    Tim2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
