Beautiful. Inviting. Relaxing. Rejuvenating. A soothing symphony of sights and sounds to delight the young and and young at heart. Jason has created a truly magical, earth friendly destination for couples and families. The long curving drive leads you to the barn. We were there for the cheese making demonstration, so the interior was thoughtfully set with straw bale seats and was perfectly situated so that a cool summer breeze swept through at regular intervals. Beyond our temporary classroom is where the gorgeous and very adorably chatty hens are housed. But Jason has saved the best for last. With just a few more steps, we meet the alpacas. I defy anyone's heart not to melt, as you look into their gorgeous big eyes. Surprisingly quiet, these shy animals are just as curious about you, as you are about them. But lingering wasn't an option this visit, we were here to make cheese. Our guest lecturer was very knowledgeable and encouraged our hands on participation. We all had time to give it a try. And yes, fresh mozzarella is delicious! After the class, we went into town for dinner at Hinkley's. A farm to table restaurant. Be sure to ask for Chef Pete. If he is in house, then you are in for a real treat. His enthusiasm for using farm fresh ingredients, like those he gets from Burnt Toast Farm, is infectious. After a few dietary needs questions, he returned with a vegetable appetizer, not on the menu, but prepared just for us. A DELICIOUS amuse bouche of thoughtly stacked thinly sliced seasonal vegetables, lightly toss in a citrus vinaigrette, with pearls of balsamic topped with delicately crisped baby kale and microgreens. WOW. After dinner, we headed back to the farm, grabbed our overnight bags and looked to settle in for the night. We meandered down a tall prairie grass-lined pathway, where we had the pleasure of a feline ambassador, and nestled amongst these grasses is the palatial yurt, our overnight accommodation. Thoughtfully stocked with toiletries, pillows, blankets, flashlights, books, and bottle water. Jason has really thought of everything. Outside the yurt, in comfy wicker armchairs, under a clear star filled sky, after sharing a bonfire and a bottle of wine, watching the hundreds of fireflies, taking it all in, we couldn't help but discuss plans for our return visit.

Heidi was amazing and so were her animals! She made 24 hours in Columbus incredibly whimsical and cosy. I speak for my guest and I when I say that we slept like babies. Her bungalow and tiny house are so comforting and lovely.
