Places to stay in Meidrim
On a family smallholding in beautiful rural Carmarthenshire, the cosy, historic cottage has been lovingly renovated to include underfloor heating, woodburning stove, well equipped 'farmhouse' kitchen, private garden and outdoor electric hot tub for your exclusive use during your stay and a shared games barn. Plenty of family-friendly activities and both coasts are within easy driving range. One well behaved dog welcome, please see dog rules. Please read description and house rules carefully.
The cottage has been carefully renovated using lime, and other sustainable building materials. We have installed high tech heating and hot water that is super eco friendly and reliable. No matter what time of year you stay it will be cosy: as well as underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs, there is an optional woodburner with complimentary starter pack of logs and kindling. The whole cottage is well equipped with a fantastic bespoke 'farmhouse' kitchen including antique Welsh dresser, traditionally oiled Welsh slate worktops, a belfast sink, Neff dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, Bosch fan oven, coffee maker and Miele washing machine. Outside is our fantastic, luxury hot tub, the perfect way to relax and unwind! The hot tub is electric, so ready at the touch of a button and we use 'skin friendlier' bromine to keep it sparkling clean. The tub has been carefully sited on it's own patio area adjacent to the cottage garden, which ensures both easy access for over 16's to the tub and a safe area of garden for young children. The tub takes in the stunning countryside view and during the evening our very dark skies make it a perfect spot for stargazing. Even on a wet night, with the fairy lights on and the soothing jets going it's a perfect way to end your day. We live next door and it's an outdoor hot tub, so it's not completely private, however we feel that the carefully considered landscaping balances guest's privacy and the view from the tub; the vast majority of guests who have used the tub have loved it, we hope you will too. Upstairs the 2 bedrooms have beautiful views, radiators, waxed wooden floors and comfortable beds. The romantic master bedroom has a period fireplace and super comfortable brass bed with luxury wool duvet and feather pillows - we've had lots of guests remark on what a wonderful night's sleep they've enjoyed! The bunk bed room has been carefully planned as a children's space, with a great collection of kids books, and has a built in cupboard with hanging space and drawers and the window has a blackout blind and curtains.. The bathroom upstairs has a bath with Mira thermostatic shower over, with glass shower screen. There is a heated towel radiator and we supply luxury Egyptian cotton towels. Other provisions include TV with Freesat, DVD player and Amazon Fire Stick, BBQ, games barn with table tennis, travel cot (up 10 15kg/can't climb out), highchair (up to 15kg) and a good selection of books, toys, games and collection of DVD's. The skies here are perfect for stargazing as we have very little light pollution. The local roads are very quiet and there are plenty of countryside walks. We actively encourage wildlife, have re-established wildflower meadows and planted over 7000 native trees. As a result we have lots of birds to watch, including Herons, Woodpeckers and Wood Warblers, we frequently see Sparrow Hawks, Red Kites, Buzzards, and visiting Barn Owls, to name but a few! Guests can access the river, at the bottom of the field -which is fun to splash around in, or a great place for a picnic. However if you're quiet you might even spot the Kingfisher? Newcastle Emlyn (9 miles) and St Clears (8 miles) are both within easy reach for shopping and some fantastic restaurants and we sell eggs and "the best meat we've ever eaten", according to some of our guests. If you're a knitter or crocheter, why not treat yourself to some of our luxury 100% alpaca wool too? The cottage is on our small family farm; run on Organic, pesticide free principles, nestled in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. We raise a variety of traditional & rare breed animals, producing the very finest quality meat. Although the farm feels very tucked away, it is easily accessible. If you would like a 'farm tour' we're happy to show you round and introduce you to some of the farm animals. We offer a whistlestop free tour, or an extended payable tour where you can meet and feed some of our animals. If you would like one of our very popular finest quality and locally sourced food hampers, homemade birthday cake or loaf of organic farmhouse bread, then please ask for details!
For day to day shopping you can't go wrong with Newcastle Emlyn to the north, jam packed with small independant shops and cafes. To the south is St Clears with a supermarket and art centre and we are only a 20 minute drive from Carmarthen. There is plenty to explore nearby; some of our favourite spots include Fynnone woods with it's dramatic waterfall and Tenby, Llansteffan, Laugharne and Llangrannog for their beaches and castles. For those looking for adventure Oakwood adventure park is a short drive away, as are Anna's Zoo and Blue Lagoon water park. For a spot of culture (aside from any of Wales' 600+ castles!) we are within easy reach of the National Botanic Gardens, Dylan Thomas' boat house and the Gwili Valley Steam railway to name but a few. For food enthusiasts Caws Cenarth cheese factory and tasting room is not to be missed and we have some award winning restaurants within a short drive.
  • Claire and Oli’s cottage was absolutely beautiful. It was sparkling clean and so so cosy. Claire was always on hand when we had questions and recommended some great places for us to visit, including Ffynone Waterfall, which was so picturesque. We went on the farm tour with Oli. It was great! Oli was really knowledgable and it was interesting to hear about their journey with the farm. We would absolutely recommend staying here. The cottage was super peaceful, the hot tub was great, and not too far from some of the bigger towns. We’d even go as far to say it was our favourite Airbnb stay. Thank you Claire and Oli ☺️

  • Lovely, cosy cottage. Very clean and excellently equipped. Friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts.

  • Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. It was sparkling clean with lovely touches. We had an amazing time.

  • Superb - this is a real gem, and not just because it's very cosy, picturesque and run by two friendly hosts. It's also one of the most environmentally conscious BnBs I've ever stayed in. Huge efforts have been made to make the house as environmentally friendly as possible and the same goes for the farm and local produce as well. The hot tub and wood burning stove are also great fun. I would strongly recommend staying here if you're passing through Carmarthenshire, particularly if the environment is an issue close to your heart.

  • Rural, homely cottage on a small working farm. Easy to find following Claire's directions. Made full use of the log burner and hot tub! Helpful instructions on how to use these are provided. We had ideal weather and clear, starry nights which made our stay extra special. We will be back in the near future

  • We arrived as a family four looking for a quiet weekend away from our usually busy abode. We found ourselves at a rural farm cottage dotted with cheerful farm animals. Parking was ideal as had a gated drive and we could bring items back and forth to the cottage with ease. The cottage itself was cosy, warm and inviting. A massive pull for us was the wood burner as it is something myself and partner thoroughly enjoy as it adds an extra comfort factor to the colder months. The place was immaculate, towels were provided and the beds were extremely clean and comfortable. One thing that surprised us and took me back to my rural upbringing was going to sleep in absolute darkness. We could not see our hands infront of our faces, no street light, shouting from the street or sounds of cars... BLISS! We did sneak out to the hot tub after the kids went to bed, flip flops on and beach towels in hand, we loved it. Perfect little twinkling lights and the chance to spend time together with the jacuzzi bubbling away. Essentially, it was wonderful. We ventured to Tenby beach for a day out which is always pleasant for us and further enhanced our stay. In all, we shall be returning to this cottage as for us, it was a perfect escape.

  • Had a pleasant stay and it was a lovely place. Difficult to order a cab to get out for dinner and drinks in the evening. Smoking at the designated spot in the evening was difficult when torch on phone battery died and trudging through mud in the dark - consequences of being a smoker.

  • Small break away in Welsh countryside, one of the best stays ever. Hosts went above and beyond to make our stay lovely. Would highly recommend, would of loved to stay longer and enjoy more west Wales.

  • This is an amazing house and a totally unique place to stay. It is even more secluded and peaceful than the pictures show. What a beautiful place to stay. Dorian was a great host who made everything really easy and had lots of good tips too.

  • What a beautiful house! The perfect escape from the modern world.

    Emily2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had lovely stay at Dorian’s beautifully restored Welsh cottage. It was very peaceful and a wonderful escape from our city life. Would highly recommend a visit to unplug and to be in nature for a few days. Thank you!

    Jonty2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant long weekend at Dorian's cottage – the setting is beautiful and incredibly peaceful. The cottage itself is obviously lovingly restored and furnished, and combines history with modern touches; it had everything we needed for the weekend – the kitchen in particular is really well-equipped. It's not luxurious but it's very cosy and comfortable, and Dorian is a helpful and communicative host. Very much recommended – we'd love to come back and explore the area some more.

    Hannah2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bryn Eglur provides the perfect escape from the modern world and transports you back to another time. The house has an amazing feel to it, one of peace and tranquillity. Dorian's passion for the traditional Welsh way of life is evident in the wonderful antiques that he has furnished the cottage with. We loved the fact that you can still use the Victorian range to heat the sitting room making it cosy and inviting. We will certainly be returning for a second visit.

    Jane2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing, dreamy space, Bryn Eglur is loveliness incarnate. Set in a quiet bit of rural land, the house is beautiful within and without. I will dreaming of my next visit!

  • Great space and hot tub. Really enjoyed our stay

    Chris2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • I thought the trip would be a nice little break but nothing too memorable. I was wrong and it was magical. Loved every minute, and my husband who usually complains constantly about nature, loved it too.

    Kim2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect! We wanted something cozy and quirky, and this fit this criteria exactly. The host was very accommodating - we were able to add an extra night to our booking quite late, and arrived early but were still able to access the cabin. The hot tub was spot on, and the whole site felt well cared for. A lovely getaway from the real world, with great access to South Wales and the Pembrokeshire coast. 100% would recommend.

    Diane2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here with my boyfriend and we had the best time. The hot tub was great and the hosts were so helpful and prompt with responses. Loved the layout of the tiny house and was actually a lot bigger than we expected it to be. Will definitely return!

  • Frances and Bill were exceptional hosts and made our stay very special. Morris is a charming space in a glorious setting and we can’t wait to return. There was great communication before we arrived and were greeted and treated very graciously on arrival. We experienced an amazing attention to detail in terms of how Morris was decorated and how many items Frances and Bill had thought to include during our stay. The Hot Tub was perfect with the most amazing views of the night sky and the log burner kept us cosy all night. We had lots of privacy with the security of having the hosts near by if we were to need anything. I truly recommend visiting Morris in this beautiful location either during the winter months or summer.

  • Great hospitality, cosy and warm shepherd’s hat with many snacks and dvds. Frances Louise is a very sweet host, she took care of showing us everything at the check in.

  • Myself and my wife spent our honeymoon here in Morris. Frances and Bill went out of their way to make the place so comfortable and special for us, they even left us a cake and some fizz! Frances and Bill are great hosts; There when you need them, but they give space so you can enjoy everything to yourselves. Their local knowledge is also very helpful as we didn't know the area at all! - I hugely recommend the brewery/Tap room in Tenby! 10/10 - Great place to stay and chill out. Great beaches nearby, and lots to explore!

    George2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Frances and Bill are very warm, friendly and accommodating hosts, The shepards hut has everything you need. If you want it as a base for walking or just a space to relax in front of a camp fire, it has it all, the detail that has been put into the hut really makes it feel like a home from home. We will definately be back and will be recommending to family and friends.

    Dean2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolute gem! Frances and Bill are clearly passionate about where they live and have put so much thought and effort into sharing that with their guests. This was without doubt the most well equipped air bnb I’ve stayed in (before we came I mentioned to Frances that we would be stopping on route to buy Welsh Cakes and she baked us some!). Everything has been thought of and the attention to detail is evident throughout. Great recommendations for local things to do and see and places to eat and the location is beyond beautiful. The hut itself is well laid out with excellent amenities and many thoughtful touches. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.

    Nicole2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect tranquil retreat but lots to do and see a short drive away, this place is perfect. This little shepherds hut has everything you could ask for and the hosts are extremely helpful and accommodating too

    Amy-Louise2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! I cannot express to you how much you must stay at Morris! The hut was gorgeous, quaint and totally out in the woods (the only thing you can hear is the stream and birds!) it was just what I needed for a bit of TLC and time to myself. Added bonus was that I could have turned up with just a spare pair of pants and nothing else as Frances had catered to every need - ample food, dvds, games, towels, bbq equipment, outdoor chairs, suncream, shower gel AND a can of G&T in the fridge (to name just a few of the things on hand) I Have already recommended you to anyone who will listen to me!

A respite from the modern world Ty Unnos is a simple retreat conceived as a refuge from everyday distraction and media over saturation - a place to disconnect digitally and reconnect socially. Devoid of extraneous details and visual clutter, instead guest will find a habitat that is an ode to paucity, with white lime washed walls, slate floors and a devotion to a modern almost monastic minimalism.
Ty Unnos has been designed as a place for calm and reflection. Located in rural Carmarthenshire it is a timeless example of architectural simplicity and beauty based on the concept of a traditional Welsh crogloft a room over hung by a sleeping platform where serenity, contemplation and restoration are foremost. A place that reflects the way we live now, from growing appetites for sustainability and mindfulness to a return to simplicity, craftsmanship and heritage. ACCOMMODATION    • Beautiful and remote setting amidst the rolling Welsh hills. • A cottage showcasing the superbly crafted and minimal architecture. • Fully accessible and suitable for all ages looking for peace and reflection. • Spacious bathroom with limited views outside. • Open plan bedroom with en-suite bathroom. This cottage is about the pure simplicity of design, comfort and relaxation. On a remote hillside in south Wales guests can remove themselves from the day to day stresses of life, and settle in for a memorable holiday. Guests will discover the use of simple forms and a limited palette of crafted materials has led to the creation of this calming cottage.  From the main entrance, guests encounter a generous and beautifully detailed combined living room, kitchen and loft bedroom all with picture windows to the fields beyond. The slate floors and whitewashed walls reflect the light and make for an open and calming place to cook, eat, sit and read. A large freestanding wood burner is ready for lighting on cool winter evenings.    The loft bedrooms offer guests the chance to experience distinct forms of contemplation. Ty Unnos epitomises the pure architectural aesthetic of ‘less is more’, whilst creating an exceptionally comfortable life-affirming experience for guests. Beyond offering a relaxing escape Ty Unnos puts on its occupants to consciously disconnect from everyday distractions that allows a stay here to be genuinely impactful – this is a place to think and rediscover simple pleasures. Ty Unnos is based on a traditional Welsh Crogloft but the design had been modernised to meet modern living requirements. Deeply influenced by Japanese design and the architecture this cottage has focused on ways of approaching the fundamental problems of space, proportion, light and materials, rather than on developing a set of stylistic mannerisms. The cottage has been designed using a very limited palette of materials, stone, wood, and slate; these bring both a warmth and intimacy to the house and living spaces within. With the interior walls being predominantly whitewash, the surprise of encountering the only black brick-lined corridor is both surprising and intriguing. This change in pace and perception prepares the guest for discovering a hidden room not normally associated with a domestic dwelling; a place to purely sit and contemplate, without distraction. Ty Unnos is a wonderfully calm, reflective place to spend time in, with attention to detail. INSTANT BOOK - but we operate a Monday or Friday changeover so providing your dates coincide with these days then you can instant book.

  • A beautiful and thoughtfully restored cottage in a great location: unspoilt, quiet and peaceful. I was thrilled to see a murmuration directly overheard as I arrived! And the clumps of snowdrops littering the grassy areas outside reminded me of my grandparents garden when I was a child and free, with non of the pressures of the modern world.

  • A lovely long weekend getaway for our anniversary...the place is just as described and perfect for a relaxing, switched off weekend. Had a couple of issues with the hot water but it didn't affect our stay. Would recommend a trip to Barafundle Bay and a meal at The Ferry Inn in Cardigan.

    Sarah2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Relaxing, cosy getaway. It was an utter pleasure to stay in the cottage. Underfloor heating is a treat!

    Alexander2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • I spent 3 nights at Dorian's place - and it was perfect! The building is beautiful, and the interior is so calming. The underfloor heating and fire kept me nice and toasty, the kitchen had everything I needed, the bathroom was sooo relaxing, as was the bedroom upstairs. I will be returning in the future, and would recommend to anyone looking to disconnect from everyday life without the distractions of tv and the internet. I spent my days reading, listening to the radio and cooking - all in the most perfect of settings. There is a helpful list of places to visit, of which I picked the lovely town of Narberth and Barafundle Bay Beach. 100% you have to visit!!!

    Jess2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • A very special place to stay - a delightful cottage that is beautifully renovated and was a very warm and comfortable place to spend a week in October. It was lovely to sit and watch the fire in the evening, we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen which whilst compact was well equipped and we liked the bathroom which was always warm with underfloor heating and had a massive bath. A great place to stay Dorian - thank you.

    Anna2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house is stunning. We wanted to be in the middle of nowhere - no phone reception, no wifi, no tv. Just quiet. The house was perfect for that. The fireplace really makes the house, and we enjoyed staying there very much

A 'help yourself' continental style breakfast is included in the price & provided in the bedroom. This includes cereals, bread (toast) & Jams. The room is self contained with a microwave, hob, toaster, kettle, mini fridge & tv (with built in dvd player). An ironing board & iron can be provided on request or for a small fee we can do any ironing for you. We will accept one dog with guests as long as it is well behaved & friendly towards our little dog (if they should meet).
A short journey will get you to The Pembrokeshire National Park, The Preseli Hills, Tenby, Saundersfoot, Carmarthen, Haverfordwest, Pembroke, Cardigan and all surrounding areas. There is a local pub about a 2 minute walk from the property, that does good 'pub grub', unfortunately it is not always open early in the week. There is also a small shop & post office in the village.

  • Fantastic hosts, extremely accommodating and quick to respond to a last minute booking. I had my small dog with me and we both felt extremely welcome. The room is incredible with every detail thought of and catered for. Thank you for a great stay, we'll definitely be back.

  • Kevin is a wonderful host and the accommodation was outstanding value. The bed was large and comfortable and the room had everything such as an electric hob and fridge which was above and beyond that a typical bnb. Kevin and Cathy had put a lot of thought into it.

    Lydia2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin has put a lot of thoughtful touches - cooker, fridge, bread, jam etc. This kind of facility is normally not available for room only. Room is warm and cosy and the private bathroom is clean. There is also a dog friendly pub close by.

    Mingyue2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin was a very attentive host, and his room represents great value. Would not hesitate to stay again

    Chris2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin and Cathy are great hosts. It was nice having a private area for ourselves (bathroom and bedroom). There was all we needed to cook and heat up our food in the bedroom, ideal to keep our privacy. We absolutely recommend this Airbnb.

    Camille2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Welcoming and warm, Kevin remained discreet. Bedroom (with mini-kitchen) and bathroom away from their spaces, which is nice for a little privacy. I recommend !

  • We had a very enjoyable stay at Adrians, a lovely country retreat, and only a short drive from several lovely beaches. Laugharne was stunning and there was a good long walk that led from the castle that looped back into the village. We enjoyed our days out exploring then coming back to the cabins to cook on the Bbq or fire pit. We would recomend packing a frying pan if you want to cook things like paella, chilli or other one pan wanders. Our daughter enjoyed feeding the sheep and its worth saying hello to the 2 hand reared sheep in the field opposite. Marian and Adrian where warm and friendly hosts, we where offered freshly caught mackeral that they had caught which went down a treat. We would highly recommend staying there and we would be happy to return in the future.

    Siobhan2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This little place is a little gem. The hosts were amazing and asked if our children would like to go and see their beehives and also feed the sheep. We had a lovey time here and will definitely be back again. Thank you

    Kerry2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Adrian's place is an absolute gem. The facilities were excellent. We had a great time exploring the local area. I would highly recommend Barafundle Bay and Skrinkle Haven beaches. Both were stunning. Adrian and Marion were the perfect hosts and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you!!

  • Lovely place with great location and wonderful views. Very friendly welcoming from the host. Had a great time, would definitely recommend.

  • Fantastic cabins with everything you need. There is a fabulous fire pit and bbq to use to cook out and eat outside. The peace and quiet is superb! Our teenagers loved it too as it had a perfect mix and WiFi! The dog loved the garden area to run around. Marion and Adrian are superb hosts. From the moment we booked we had direct communication and. The directions we were given were easy to follow. Marion even had a cast protector she leant my daughter so she could have a shower - all the little things made the stay so perfect! Absolutely love this place and would recommend to everyone.

  • One of the nicest Airb&b places we’ve stayed in.....the two cabins were perfect for me and my husband and my sister and her husband visiting us from America. Our two little dogs loved the place too....but would have loved to run in the garden off-leash if the garden were wired/fenced off! But altogether a wonderful stay was had by all 4+2!! The Coop down the road towards St Clears was very convenient for daily needs and apart from other great eating places round South Wales, my sister and I would recommend the Elaichi restaurant....and the Amroth Arms recommended by Marion was superb! Even though we hadn’t read the instructions so we hadn’t brought towels, Marion very kindly provided us with her own.....extremely hospitable hosts.

  • Fantastic experience. Friendly hosts. Good location. Highly recommended.

    Roha2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend it to anyone that is looking to escape the city and find a perfect balance of nature and relaxation. Me and my friends enjoyed our stay and the farm was idlic for us to enjoy our bank holiday weekend. The morning sunrise view from one of the cabin was the highlight of our stay along with the wood-firing and bbq facilities. Although it says no kitchen in the list, there are all the basic needs provided there for you to cook and eat. Wished we could have stayed a little more longer ! Hidden gem in Wales! Thank you Adrian & Marion for all the help and being a great Host! xx

A quiet lush countryside escape to peace, rest and relaxation. The landscape in our area is characterized by undulating hills of lush green grassland with the sound of sheep, birdsong and cattle in the distance. Laugharne is near where the infamous Dylan Thomas, Welsh Poet worked from his 'Boathouse'.
We are equidistant from the beaches in Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire & Pembrokeshire. Lots of places to see and go while you are here (see below 'Getting Around').
A quiet neighbourhood in a village with a convenience store less than 70 steps from Heddfan, village hall, village pub, sports club, nearby stables, cattle, stream with bridge, lake, park, farms, farm shops, manicured green fields at the top of the hill and a chocolate factory a mile away from Heddfan.
  • Incredible hosts. Nice homely feeling. Attention to details. Very helpful and friendly couple. Xx

  • Alina and I enjoyed our 3 night stay here. We found it a great base to explore the local area. Our hosts were helpful and very friendly. We enjoyed our breakfasts. WiFi was excellent and we could easily connect all our phones tablets etc. We would certainly hope to stay here again when next in the area. Local pub kitchen has been taken over by a new chef who is making a big effort with meals and offering a 10 percent discount to guests staying at Raquel and nevilles place so be sure to mention.

    Adam2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Raquel’s place was clean and spotless. The bathroom was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Raquel and her partner were available when needed and gave us space as well. Would recommend this place.

  • Amazing place! Perfect for large families and groups. Jo was always on hand to help and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The pictures don’t do the place justice it was lovely. Highly recommend!

    Lewis2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jo's place during the Christmas break for a family wedding in nearby Carmarthen. We had 8 adults and 5 young children and booked the cowshed and servants' quarters. I wanted somewhere the family could relax in during a busy weekend and Jo's place turned out to be perfect. The pictures can only give you a glimpse or what are tastefully renovated buildings. The houses are warm and welcoming with little extras like a train set for the kids and welcome pack consisting of teabags, coffee, milk and even a bottle of Presecco! The setting is gorgeous even on a misty winters day with views looking out over the valley. Jo and Steve were excellent hosts from booking through to the end of our stay. We enjoyed looking through the book which details the renovation process which Steve has done to a very high standard. We will definitely look to stay here again in the not too distant future.

  • We had a wonderful stay! Jo was extremely responsive, kind, accommodating. Steve hosted us, and was helpful, kind, friendly. We were 13 and had plenty of space, a wonderfully outfitted kitchen, and a lot of outdoor space for the kids to play. A lovely place for families to stay - the kids loved the fort, playground bars and dogs. Close enough to folly farms and the beach (driving distance). A charming place, I would highly recommend. Thank you so much!

  • Just got back from a stay at the hay barn and it was amazing. Very clean and tidy, everything you need is available to you. Debbie was very helpful also. Would definitely recommend this to a friend and looking to plan another trip here!

    Lewis2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The hay barn is a fantastic place to stay, although we didn't get the chance to meet Debbie, Clayton was so helpful and friendly, he made us both feel right at home. The location is perfect, rural but easy to get to places. We will definitely be back throughout the summer, can't wait to stay again!

    Nicola2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely long weekend at the Hay Barn and it definitely exceeded our expectations! The location was stunning; peaceful and perfect for visiting places such as Camarthen, Tenby, Haverfordwest etc which are all within a half hour drive. The barn itself is spotless, beautifully done up and has everything you need (including a view of the surrounding countryside and pygmy goats). Debbie and Clayton were amazing hosts too, very helpful and welcoming. Would definitely love to stay again!

    Georgia2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed in a number of different cottages prior to our stay in The Hay Barn and this was by far the best! It is a beautiful barn conversion, spotlessly clean, very modern but at the same time still gives you that cottage feel. It is light and airy, very spacious and has everything you need and more! No expense was spared and it is obvious a lot of thought, time and effort has been put in to the cottage. It is absolutely stunning! The location is perfect, in close proximity to all popular places and far enough away for a quiet relaxing break! Hosts Debbie and Clayton are very welcoming, helpful and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the family's cat, dogs, sheep, goats and chickens. We also loved our walk through the grounds, very peaceful and relaxing. We will definitely be staying again, can't wait for our next stay soon.

  • Brilliant little place to stay - immaculately clean, all very new and modern interior that’s very well kitted out with everything you need for a few days. Lovely to be out in the countryside surrounded by goats, cats and puppies! Delightful sitting outside in the evening to have dinner in the sunset. Fantastic value for money! Debbie and Clayton are also a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome and at home.

Cwmderi is an old Welsh cottage at the heart of a working farm and with superb views of the Cynin valley. The cottage has been restored in an open-plan style to a very high standard in traditional ways using local materials, at its centre is a large wood stove. There are places for picnics on the farm and plenty of quiet walking routes around the area.
Guests are welcome to meet the farm's livestock (sheep & cows) but, unless advised otherwise, are asked not to do so without us present.
Llanwinio has a lot of history, human and natural. So far 86 species of bird have been seen on the farm, there are a large numbers of native mammals and wide varieties of trees, wild flowers, ferns, mosses and lichens. There are several earthwork-castles locally, one right across the valley, and an ancient ogham stone was uncovered during construction of the church. Our farm lane - not road - is believed to be the last remaining part of a prehistoric 'ring-defence' about Llanwinio. Rocky beaches are 15 miles to the North West and Sandy beaches are 13 miles to the South East.
  • Having just returned from an amazing few days away, all we can say is wow. This place was everything we’d hoped for and more. Every aspect from the little touches like welsh cakes and fresh eggs to the welcome we received from our hosts on arrival, couldn’t have been better. Before we’d even left we were already planning on when we can come back, and we’ll be doing so at the next chance we get.

  • What a wonderful find. This was our first experience with Airbnb, but will definitely not be the last. The cottage was immaculate, beautifully furnished and contained everything you would need. Giles and Nao (& their lovely children) were wonderful, and we really felt like welcome guests, able to join in with life on the farm- which, especially for our 2 young girls was an amazing opportunity. A fabulous experience & we will be returning soon, I hope

  • A wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage. Such a lovely location and our hosts were outstanding. Will definitely stay again.

  • What a delightful family and stay. The cottage is finished to a very high standard and with love. Giles and Nao, have furnished and decorated the place beautifully. They are at hand if you need them for anything practical or looking to learn more about their farm or the local area. The beds are very comfortable and you will find all you need in the kitchen and utility to make your stay easy and a home from home experience. The farm is very peaceful and relaxing with great walks to keep you occupied or curl up by the fire and enjoy the open sky views on a starry night. And the sunrises from the master bedroom are glorious. Beautiful country setting with rolling hills to look out at though the double glass doors. Kind and thoughtful family. Perfect getaway.

  • We had such a brilliant stay over Christmas in Charlotte’s lovely cottage. The location is beautiful and a really relaxing, quiet place to stay. The actual barn is even better then we hoped - very spacious and light and a great surprise of an amazing Christmas tree in the lounge! We would love to come back again and highly recommend choosing to stay here for any trip.

Watching the huge variety of birds on the feeders was a highlight of our day, many of which we had never seen before. The woods surrounding the barn were great for walking the dog.

  • Charlotte is a very kind and warm host. We are very pleased that we have chosen this place for our stay. Barn house is very warm and cozy. Would definitely go back again as there is a lot more to explore and Charlotte seems to have more tour guide tips to offer.

  • We're a family with 2 boys aged 5 and 7 years, plus a dog and had the most amazing stay at Old Oak Barn. The surroundings are absolutely idyllic; stunning woodland walks, a stream for kids and dog to play in, and swings dotted around. The property was perfect for us too. Perfect amount of space, great toys, games and books provided too which we all enjoyed! Charlotte was an impeccable host; kind and helpful, and the kids loved being able to go and see some of the working farm including the factors chickens. Would highly recommend both Charlotte and the venue for a relaxing break! The perfect place to getaway from the stress of life and to unwind!

    Sarah2019-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Old Oak Barn, the barn is located on an isolated farm and there is no one else on site except for the owners. The barn is fully equipped for cooking, games, dvds, local information an detailed walks on their woodlands and outside of the property. We spent our Christmas at the barn and enjoyed dog walks in the woodlands, trips to Pendine Sands and Llansteffan. St Clears had everything we needed at the local Country Store, Co-op and the local pub Black Lion Hotel. Thank you Charlotte for making our stay memorable and for providing us with fresh eggs from your hens.

Tucked away in our quiet little valley this brightly decorated little cabin has lovely views of the river and woods beyond, the only neighbour being the owners' cottage. Visitors are welcome to wander across the river and into the woods to walk. This is a perfect place to unwind and relax with the only sounds being the birdsong and the river running by. For emergency use only there is Wifi and a landline. A mobile signal can be obtained a short distance up the road.
The sofa bed in the main room is king size. There is a TV for watching DVDs.
We are 20 minutes from the nearest town St Clears, and only 25 minutes from Carmarthen. There are lovely beaches which can be reached in 40 minutes on the South and West coasts, and the Preselli Hills and Brecons are not far away for walkers.
  • The Cabin is set in the most idyllic and completely peaceful spot. Deep in the valley, surrounded by trees and next to a shallow river that the kids loved to paddle in. A cup of tea in the morning on the veranda with only the sounds of birds, bees and the babbling river was just perfect. Deborah and Ian are lovely hosts. They have provided a fantastic holiday home, with everything you need for a great stay. We will definitely go back again and again.

We will be returning again and again! Amazing! The cabin itself was spotless and clean with a fantastic shower and a great kitchen we didn't leave the whole weekend x

  • A beautifully converted and tastefully decorated barn conversion with everything you could need. Lovely added bonus of a private little sitting area right outside the front door. Squishy sofas, a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. We were initially concerned that the blinds over the skylights would let in the light, like at previous places we’d stayed, and wake our baby. However, we were happy to find the blind in the bedroom was a blackout blind and the light didn’t disturb our little one at all. Although we brought our own travel cot we were happy to find one at the flat too. The accommodation was easy to find with the instructions Iola sent a few days before and there was ample space to park next to the barn. Iola and her husband were very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • A cosy yet spacious cottage perfect for our two young daughters who loved sleeping in the attic space. A great base to explore the local area. Tenby beaches are fantastic! The cottage was clean and well equipped. Even had some welsh cakes left on the table for our arrival. Thanks to Iola and family for a great holiday stay.

    Helen2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most perfect stay at the barn, it was a home from home and had everything you could possibly need. Our two daughters loved the mezzanine room and were excited to go to bed every night! Iola was the most helpful host and gave us lots of tips and recommendations which helped plan some amazing day trips in the most beautiful settings. Some great memories made and a new-found love of Wales.

If you want peace and quiet, this is the place to be! Myrtle Hill sits on a sunny, south facing hillside overlooking the Cynin Valley in a quiet village. It is centrally situated for visitors to Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire who are looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. It has its own entrance, but the stairs are shared with the household. Sleeps 5. Fully equipped kitchen, WiFi, electric blankets, and open fire upon request. TV and wash-hand basin in each bedroom.
Cosy accommodation. Very quiet and dark at night for a good night's sleep! No neighbours!! Guests comment upon the peace and quiet - nothing but birdsong and the sound of the river. Red kites and buzzards continually soar over the valley. The annexe is actually half of the house. I live in the rooms to the left of the (communal) stairs, and all those to the right, upstairs and downstairs are available exclusively to my guests.
This is a lovely friendly, quiet village in beautiful countryside abounding in wildlife. Great for walkers and birdwatchers! There is a private 12 acre wood abutting the house which is an Ancient Semi Natural Woodland. It is a sea of bluebells in early May! There are lots of fantastic amenities between 10 and fifteen miles away - The National Botanic Gardens; Folly Farm; Oakwood and many more. Not to mention the beautiful coastline which is free to all! Wonderful location for walkers and birdwatchers and anyone who enjoys the great outdoors!
  • Thank you ever so much for an amazing stay. We really enjoyed our stay at your property and would happily look at rebooking in the near future.

  • Kathie is a great host and a very kind person. She made us feel welcome the moment we step feet in her house until we left. She was available when we needed her and also ready to help. Our kids loved her so much that our youngest (5 years old) didn’t want to leave her when came the time to leave. Her home is in a very nice spot and the surrounding landscape is breath taking and worth exploring.

    Eric2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Myrtle Hill is a lovely place, set in the hills with a fab view, and perfectly silent at night time. Kathie was very welcoming and even left us some home grown tomatoes - a lovely touch. It was perfectly located for all our planned activities, including fly fishing with Lyn Davies (Captured Online), surfing with Outer Reef Surf School, and Axe-making at Phoenix Forge. A thoroughly enjoyable few days away.

I challenge anyone not to be moved while sitting overlooking the most beautiful views in a amazing peaceful environment. Kathie was the perfect host, efficient and friendly who ensured our stay was perfect in every way in her beautiful property. I strongly recommend to anyone to consider a stay at this wonderful venue to have the opportunity to have a experience to remember. Thank you Kathie

    Peter2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a gorgeous time at Kathie’s place. The location is perfect- in the hills with no one around and a river nearby. The house had everything we needed for cooking, playing with kids and quiet nights. We visited the west and south coast, both around 40 mins drive. Kathie was an especially lovely and helpful host. We’re coming back!

St Clears is a charming town with a good choice of coffee shops, a handful of pubs and restaurants. It is a small town perfectly located to explore Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. It is 4 miles to Laugharne and 9 miles to Carmarthen. Laugharne is a small town sitting on the estuary of the Taf River and offers stunning estuary walks, including the infamous Dylan Thomas Birthday Walk. There are also plenty of woodland walks and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path starts nearby. It is an ancient town steeped in history, and a popular tourist destination with many great attractions in the area. With its easy accessibility to the M4 and ferry links, it's a prime location and makes it a great base to visit Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. The Boathouse, where Dylan and Caitlin lived with their children is now a heritage centre. Overlooking the estuary are the dramatic ruins of a Norman Castle, a popular visitor attraction. Laugharne is a charming sleepy town with a mixture of large Georgian houses and pretty small cottages, set amongst a good choice of cafes and restaurants, including the well known Browns Hotel. There are also a good choice of outdoor activities available in the area, ranging from horse riding, coasteering, to a variety of water sports, abseiling, orienteering, caving and gorge walking. There are many beautiful rugged beaches in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, along with the more popular coastal resorts of Pendine, Saundersfoot and Tenby. Pendine Sands as the location for numerous attempts at the land speed record, with the important history in land speed achievements from Bluebird Sunbeam & Campbell 1924, Parry Thomas and Babs in 1926 & 1927 to Guili Foresti ‘Djelmo ‘1927 and more recently Bluebird Electronic record, Guy Martin’s bicycle record and Idris Elba’s (one of the UK’s top earning actors) flying mile record. The Museum of Speed displays ‘Babs’, one of the cars that smashed the record, restored to her original glory. There is an abundance of interesting attractions locally, including Castles, historic houses and National Botanical Gardens to name a few. For the younger generation we are a short drive away from the likes of Folly Farm, Oakwood, Manor House Wildlife Park, Heatherton World of Activities and Dinosaur Park to name a few. It’s the perfect place to get away from it all.
  • Really lovely house and wonderful, friendly hosts. Recently refurbished, and they did a great job. Spacious living room and kitchen downstairs with everything you could want. The two main bedrooms are very large and comfortable. Off street parking which is extremely useful in St Clears, and the hosts live next door so check-in and check-out was super easy. Highly recommended :)

  • A stunning little retreat. Diana and Graeme (and dogs) are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is stunning and the caravan is so comfortable and well kitted out. I could have stayed for a month!! I will definitely be going back.

  • Lovely tranquil peaceful area in the cosy caravan with great hospitality.

    Claire2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquility and seclusion - a slice of heaven! I was looking for a quiet place to call my own in a peaceful location to do some walking and refresh my soul. There is so much more than that at this lovely airbnb! Self-contained accommodation, with fantastic views all around - cows, valleys, farmland, woods; sunrise on one side, sunset on the other! Comfortable bed and all the amenities you need, (too many to list them all!), and some very thoughtful home touches and groceries helped me settle in easily. I took a drive almost every day to walk at various places around the coast, and on the first and last days I walked locally; this is a central location in west Wales, useful to reach North, South and West coasts of Pembrokeshire national park. Diana and Graham were so thoughtful and hospitable, nothing was too much for them. Queenie is a good distance from their house, so I felt independent, but knew they were available if I needed anything. There is phone reception and Wifi (not a huge amount, but enough to check weather, upload photos, plan trips and call home every day). Fresh eggs from their chickens, and as an added bonus Diana offers reflexology (so relaxing!) at a very reasonable price. I definitely recommend staying here and will be back!

    M2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had an excellent stay at Diana and Graham's place. They were both very welcoming and with the accommodation at the back of the field you also have all the privacy you could hope for. Perfect. You can even park your vehicle next to the accommodation which proved very handy. The photos certainly don't do the views justice. It is a wonderful setting if you want to just get away from it all and enjoy some piece and quiet and take in the scenery. (just a few lovely farm animal noises to enjoy) The accommodation was just as I'd hoped, complete with freeview TV, bbq, and lots of seating outside. An added bonus was that the mobile signal was also decent, 4g internet on EE worked well enough considering the excellent rural location. Freshly laid eggs and milk, butter, tea and a small loaf of bread were a great extra touch. To sum up I would definitely stay again which should say everything you need to know. Thank you Diana and Graham for your hospitality. All the best. Graham.

    Graham2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely caravan with everything you need to have a great stay, stove, shower, outdoor seating. Beautiful scenery and very quiet at night for a great sleep!

    Jo2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Queenie Bach. Diana and Graham were excellent hosts who did their best to make sure my stay was comfortable whilst being sensitive of my privacy. They even kindly supplied me with some goose eggs and chicken eggs freshly laid by there own animals. The caravan is situated in its own meadow area away from the house with spectacular views over the valley and into the distance, which was an unexpected bonus. It was perfectly clean and comfortable and had everything you could want for a short or long-term stay. You don't have to walk very far to find yourself on footpaths that lead through forests and fields that feel quite off the beaten track, so perfect if you like a bit of nature. It's also only a short drive from all sorts of lovely coastal areas.

Please note you can INSTANT BOOK without pre-approval. Grey Alders B&B is warm and welcoming in a quiet rural setting with lovely scenery. The only noise is from the stream behind the house, the birds chirping away, and sheep cropping the grass.
This double guest room with en-suite shower is in our new timber-framed eco-friendly lodge and is finished to hotel standard. There are integral wall lights above the beds and a view overlooking our fields, trees and waterfall with the stream flowing by. Please note the pricing is per room. (We also have a twin-bedded room with en-suite shower, separately listed as Grey Alders on Airbnb, so if there are more than two of you, or you want separate bedrooms, you can easily make two bookings.) There are tea making facilities and a kettle in both rooms. You also have a 32" TV with all Freeview channels. Breakfast is served in our large kitchen-diner. A cooked breakfast is available with egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes and as much toast as you can eat. Tea and coffee is also available. We are 13 miles from Carmarthen town with its supermarkets, bowling alley (xcel bowl) and leisure centre with swimming pool. There are good restaurants locally and in Carmarthen which also has Vue cinema, Costa Coffee, Frankie & Benny's etc. We are central to the many beautiful beaches in Carmarthenshire, on Cardigan Bay and the north, south and west Pembrokeshire Coast. There is a great walk to Llanwinio church following in the footsteps of St Gwinio on a three mile trail on an ancient (1500 years old) road nearby. Or you can just relax, read, take a walk or watch the wildlife. This is a great site for bird-watching.
  • Beautiful rural location but easy to find as sat nav takes you right to the farm gate. Very much a working farm with lots of animals. Stephen is very knowledgeable about local history and we always had a good chat at breakfast!

  • Of all the places we stayed during our trip, this was the one with the best hospitality. We arrived very late (23:30pm) and Stephen gave us a warm welcome. If we ever come to England again, we will definitely visit you guys again. Thanks a lot!

  • Judy n Stephen are very friendly and communicative. Good place to relax, we realy enjoyed peace and quiet.

    Robert2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • I had to cancel my trip at the last minute due to ill weather and health and for some reason the message didn't reach Judy. Judy kindly called us to check if everything was okay with us. I appreaciate Judy's concern on her tenants. I will definitely look to book here if I travel to the same place again.

We stayed over Christmas and it was a lovely cosy place to return to after a day exploring Carmarthenshire. There is quite a steep path up to the property from the main road.

We were greeted by thoughtful touches such as chocolates, milk, travel cot all set up (and a much needed bottle of wine!!) - all of which were appreciated. The folders of local leaflets of places to visit were great too - made planning our days easier. The holiday was everything we wanted - and more. We cannot recommend this place highly enough!

  • Great stay at Georginas place. Wonderful host. Very helpful.

    Manikandan2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Georgina was very helpful from the moment we booked, she was very quick on responses and agreed to let us check out later than advertised as she didn’t have another booking the same day which was a great help to us. We were a group of 14 guys on a stag do and the place was perfect. A lot of outside space and internally accommodated is great as well. Lounge was a bit small to hold us all together but the kitchen area compensated for this. Was really useful to have a lot of the smaller things taken care of so we didn’t need to worry, toiletries, kitchen basics, towels etc. Made it a really easy stay. Location is also great, feels like there’s no one around you at all but a 10 min drive and you’re in Carmarthen town for everything you need. Overall a great booking for us and I’d definitely recommend if you have a sizeable group.

    Aqual2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t fault Georgie for the way she treated us during our stay, safe to say she was absolutely amazing!! Let us do what ever we wanted and even helped us with loads of things. Would 100% recommend a stay here to anyone. Thank you again Georgie from Jord and the boys X

  • We had the MOST amazing time in the Pod. It was clean, comfortable and super warm! In a great location for exploring! The host responded quickly when we were unsure how to use the heater. Really amazing experience all around. Couple of helpful tips... If you're using the hot tub in months when it gets dark quickly, bring some fairy lights. It's a little dark, so we bought fairy lights which helped! Also, bring a bath Mat! We brought towels but forgot a bath Mat it gets pretty wet otherwise Haha. Thanks for having us! We LOVED it and will be coming back <3
