  • Mandy and her husband are absolutely amazing! The way they treated me and my daughter was so warm and loving just like we were part of their family. The house is beautiful warm and cozy. They welcomed us with coffee and traditional cakes which was so nice , they opened their home to us and told me to feel like in my own which was so nice of them . I recommend this host to anyone I'm sure I will be back . Thank you !

  • I would give more stars if I could . Hosts are extremely welcoming and toughful and price for value is amazing - It's the best low-cost Airbnb I've ever stayed in!

  • Mandy and Derek were the most friendly and welcoming hosts you can possibly imagine. I shall look forward to visit with them again!

    Ingrid2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Mandy and Derek have a wonderful home tucked away in the Welsh countryside. They are both outstanding hosts who are naturally hospitable and thoroughly pleasant. I have stayed here for work and have enjoyed the comfortable, clean room and food that has been provided as well as the company. I'm especially grateful for their help in drying out my wet work kit after a very rainy day. I'd thoroughly recommend staying here for holiday making or for work. Thanks!

    Lewis2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Mandy and Derek are outstanding hosts. They are not only nice, they go the extra mile to make you feel at home. They even lent us a travel cot and a baby bath for our little one. We definitely recommend this Airbnb. We hope to come back someday.

  • Mandy and her husband Derek ares such incredible hosts. When I arrived, she had tea with a selection of her own homemade cakes ready. The house was warm throughout (not all AirBnB's I stayed at were), and Mandy urged me to use the lounge we call it the living room in the US) to watch TV or to hang out. They answered so many of my questions about England, about the area, etc. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom/shower amenities perfect. This is located in a very quiet neighborhood. However, there are lots of walking trails nearby that Mandy can recommend. I had a perfect experience there!

    Dolores2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay, clean and you're made very welcome into their home. Would definitely be booking again.

    Elli2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful couple! They treat you like family. Nothing is too much trouble. So kind - to everyone! There were other people there too and they treated them just the same. Lovely location too - quiet but not totally isolated. Definitely recommended! Thank you so much, Mandy & Derek!!

Graded by Visit Wales as 4 star.

Meifod is a tranquil village, not far from the Shropshire border. Meifod makes an ideal base for visiting Snowdonia or the welsh boarders being within easy distance of Dolgellau, Llangollen, Shrewsbury, Wrexham and the welsh coast at Aberdyfi. Not far from the village there are the castles or Powis, Montgomery and Dolforwyn. There are also 2 steam railways locally, the Welshpool to Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway and the Cambrian Heritage Steam Railway based in Oswestry and Llynclys. Llanymynech rocks provides challenging rock climbing or alternatively after a not too strenuous a walk fantastic views of the Shropshire plain, and as the area is a nature reserve on a limestone escarpment, birds such peregrine falcons can be seen and there is a fabulous display of orchids at the right time of year. Adjoining the rocks is the Llanymynech limeworks heritage area including the unusual Hoffman Limekiln (remember to take a torch). Lake Vyrnwy, with its many trails and its RSPB reserve is not too far away. As it the Montgomery Canal which runs from Newtown, through Berriew, Welshpool, Arddleen, Llanymynech until it joins the Llangollen Canal.
  • A cute cosy cottage with nice pub within walking distance

Run on permaculture principles, Tanyfron Housing Co-operative is home to two families and is situated on a wooded site overlooking the Vyrnwy Valley. We are offering a double room, with a view across the valley
Very important - Please Read! There is absolutely no smoking allowed on-site at Tan y fron, no perfumes, deoderants, aerosols, as we have two residents who have chronic chest conditions. Our accommodation is extremely basic. There is no shower available at the moment as that part of the house is being renovated, and the toilet, whilst inside, is a very basic compost toilet. There is no running water available, but there is a basin for washing and we can provide hot water in a jug for you and cold water so you can clean your teeth. We also provide towels and bed linen. Sorry, but we do not provide any meals. If you are interested in permaculture and living lightly on the land, please consider coming to stay. If you just want somewhere to rest for the night, then this is also the place for you. There are areas of the property where guests, for their own safety, will not be allowed to access. We welcome dogs by arrangement.
We are based in the Vyrnwy river valley - a beautiful part of Powys popular with walkers, cyclists and visitors from all over the world. We are twenty minutes away from the famous Pistyll Rheaedre waterfall, the highest fall in Wales nestled in the mystical Berwyn mountains; the canal and steam railway at Welshpool is fifteen minutes away and Lake Vyrnwy is around thirty minutes.
  • Really lovely setting and the hosts were so incredibly welcoming and friendly. The place was also really good value, no shower at the moment and a composting loo (it didn't smell at all) but it had everything else you'd expect from any other Airbnb. We'd definitely stay again if we're in the area.

  • Great room, great bed, amazing bunch of guys that run the place, amazing location for walks, sightseeing, (I went to lake Vrnwy for the day) pub 2 miles up the road. Would highly recommend this place for getting your head down after a long day. Although read the description in the advert as this lovely place will not be for everyone. Will definitely be going back for a short break again.

    Mark2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great value place to stay, with beautiful guest room and a lovely bed. We enjoyed meeting our hosts. This is a different experience from most airbnbs: the description is accurate, read it before booking!

  • 10/10 stay. Everything was absolute perfection. Such a cosy place to stay, felt right at home instantly. Toni was so hospitable, she even baked us some cakes which were delicious! The location is so beautiful and theres lots to do, the only problem is that we didn’t want to leave the barn because we were so comfortable! We’ll definitely be returning. Thank you Toni! ☺️

    Ilona2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a privilege to be writing the first Airbnb review. Toni’s place is the perfect retreat. A huge bedroom, with a huge bath and a very cosy living room with log burner. The surrounding area is a delight, very quiet and with some very friendly locals. Powis castle (about 20 mins away) is very impressive too. If you’re thinking about booking, go for it! You will be hosted impeccably by Toni and you will have a wonderful, relaxing break.

    Jonathan2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. Toni welcomed us on arrival and was full of local knowledge and tips. The place was well thought through and done to a very high standard. It was sparklingly clean and a great location to go out and see the sounding area from as well as to relax in.

Our tastefully decorated double en-suite room is private and separate from the house (above our car port). It's a great bolthole for single travellers, couples or small families who want to enjoy a very rural, relaxing location on the Powys/Shropshire border. NOTE; we have had a extension built at the back of the main property. This does not effect the loft area, parking etc but our garden landscaping will not be completed until March 2020
Our loft is spacious and peaceful with a double bed, seating for two and en-suite with power shower. We provide luxurious toiletries, cotton sheets, fluffy towels, hair dryer, Wi-Fi, Sat TV, fridge, hot drink facilities, snacks and plenty of reading material will be found in your room. There is also room for a travel cot or small airbed if you have a little people with you.
We live in a beautiful part of hilly Mid Wales, but other than the sound of wild birds or an occasional tractor driving past it is a very tranquil place, yet only a stones throw away from lots of great local tourist spots and Welshpool, Oswestry & Shrewsbury Town.
  • We wanted a quiet getaway for the weekend and that's exactly what we got. The loft was warm and cosy despite a storm raging outside and in two rooms you had everything you needed. Emma was very helpful when it came to finding the place and communication throughout was good. Highly recommended if you want some peace and quiet!

    Tom2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

Ysgubor Lodge is a unique property nestled in the woods, with a balcony all the way around it so you can sit out and enjoy the environment. It is complete with a bathroom, one double room and one room with 2 single beds, a living room and kitchen. It is heated with a log stove , and fire wood is provided. There is a TV but no signal, but there are plenty of DVDs to watch . Download music if you want to listen to it on bluetooth speaker .
We are close to a river and many mountain walks.
We are 10 minutes walk from the village of Meifod which has it's own pub and shop. 5 minutes walk from the river where you can canoe or swim. There are many walking routes nearby with amazing vistas and views. We are only an hour away from 4 of the best mountain biking trails in Britain namely Coed Y Brenin, Llandegla, Machynlleth, and Revolution bike parks. There is also canoeing on the rivers Severn, Banwy and Tanat. I have my own farm shop 3 miles away which sells everything you will need if are going to cook .
  • Great place to get away from it all, this was our third visit! Our son loved playing in the stream and there are some lovely walks from the house. Clean, well equipped cabin and cosy by the log fire

    Sarah2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem of a place. A cosy lodge amongst tall trees overlooking a brooke make for a unique and magical setting. Plenty to do near by for those who love the outdoors and very friendly hosts who are more than happy to point you in the right direction. We will be back in the summer without a doubt. You will not be disappointed.

    James2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Booked a last minute stay for 3 days for 2 adults and 2 kids (aged 11 and 5). Rachael was great at helping us out with the booking as well as giving us alternate directions due to flooding in the area. Outstanding communication throughout the whole stay giving helpful advice and places of interest. The lodge itself is beautiful and the pictures don’t do it justice! The kids loved every minute and we’re sad to leave. The trampoline is a nice touch. The views of the night sky were out of this world due to the lack of light pollution. Waking up to nothing but the sound of the brook was wonderful also. Lack of signal or WiFi was an added bonus as it allowed us to spend quality time as a family. If you’re thinking of booking go for it!

    Amy Jade2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is just fantastic. So unexpected, remote, and connected with nature. Highly recommend.

    Neal2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rachael's place is GREAT - photos probably don't do it justice, spectacular location and being able to kick back and escape was a real treat. Having no 4G meant you really got to switch off and enjoy the scenery. We would happily stay again!

    Tom2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • It is great place for disconnect from daily digital world and enjoying the nature. We had an amazing stay there, and my daughter specially loved the tree house and the zip line.

    Mohsen2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place! The most gorgeous location for peace and relaxation. Ideal base for exploring the area if you can bear to leave the cabin! Warm and cosy, comfortable and well equipped in this idyllic setting.

    Chris2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This lodge is absolutely incredible; so peaceful and serene. It's lovely to be able the wake up, open up the French doors and walk straight out onto the decking to find yourself amongst the trees. It has all the amenities you'd need for a great stay and the log fire was easy to handle and quick to get to work. There is no mobile signal but that I think is a benefit, and not a downside. Rachael was a very accomodating host. She was quick to respond to all my queries, shared some knowledge of local walks and brought over some extra logs for the fire. Also, although not shown in the photos Rachael has put up, the lodge has a lovely bathroom with a gorgeous shower! Overall, it was a fantastic stay and I would wholly recommend it. We will be definitely be coming back to stay I'm sure!

The cottage is a self contained annex to our home. It offers self catering facilities, a field to let your dogs run wild or for you to bring along a horse. There is Fishing in the local river too for a small fee. There is a sofa bed in the lounge & double bed upstairs. The bathroom (accessed off the landing) doesn’t contain a shower due to the slope of the ceiling but a full size bath is available. Dogs are very welcome in the cottage.
Nestled in the Meifod valley with views of the rolling hills of Wales, this cottage is part of a small community of 2 homes. There is a fantastic family run pub 8 minutes away in Llansantffraid (The Cross Keys Inn). 5 minutes in the opposite direction is the Llanfair light railway. Beaches, lakes & other attractions are all within an hour. This is a great place to stop & explores Wales.
On a footpath, the cottage is beside an old working Mill with a small brook running by.
  • The cottage is in a beautiful setting with plenty of walks nearby. It was incredibly clean and has all the amenities you would need. Helen was very quick to get back to me if I had any questions.

  • Had a lovely weekend break at Maesnewydd Cottage whilst visiting family in the area. Helen is a fab host and nothing is too much trouble. The cottage provided a stress free environment and was welcoming and comfortable. We took our dog and it was ideal as there is a really large open garden where he could play. We hope to visit again on our next trip to this beautiful part of Wales.

This is a great place to stop and explores Wales.
  • We had a lovely stay at the Cabin. Cathy met us on arrival and showed us around the cabin and gave us a few tips about the local area. The cabin is fully equipped with everything you would need for a pleasant stay. We travelled as a group of four adults and the cabin comfortably slept us all. We stayed in March and the weather was mild (but still raining!). The cabin was heated by a lovely log fire burner. It heated very quickly and kept the cabin cosy. We enjoyed the rum and coke around the fire, on the evening. The complimentary milk, bread and bacon was a very welcomed touch. Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin with us. We will definitely be back!

  • A true gem of a place! An amazing hideaway that gave us the shelter, warmth, and relaxing evening we needed after a great day out on our motorbikes. Tim even went out of his way and allowed us to store our bikes over night in his garage. Can't recommend this place enough.

  • I’ve stayed in many Airbnb’s now both in UK and abroad and this was definitely the best equipped of all. Kitchen is brilliant, everything from weighing scales, baking roasting trays, loads of really lovely crockery. It made cooking for 12 easy. Rangemaster excellent too. Loved the spacious utility room for dealing with wet, muddy clothes/ dog as we visited when storm Dennis was about. Bedrooms were comfortable and appreciated that there was a double bed minimum in each. Living room is cosy with excellent fireplace. The grounds of house/ farm were lovely and kids enjoyed finding swings and hills to climb on surrounding walks. We enjoyed visiting Lake Vyrnwy with waterfalls looking at there best with all the storms! A very scenic area and so pleased we chose this property for our holiday

    Rob2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for making your farmhouse so warm and inviting. We had a wonderful week exploring the walks as suggested. The kitchen was so well equipped we wanted for nothing. It was the hub of the home. As a large family well all had seats to eat and space to relax in the sitting room. Every bedroom was well furnished with comfy beds. Highly recommend for large family groups.

    Jayne2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Jasper were brilliant, kind hosts, and their home is beautiful and incredibly well-equipped (we cooked a full Christmas roast for a dozen people!) The roaring fire made for a lovely place to curl up after the great walks around the area (the house is equipped with dozens of maps of the surroundings). We will 100% be booking again :)

    John2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I (party of 9 plus a dog!) had a wonderful stay at Penylan. Lovely, spacious home in a wonderful setting with some great walks from the front door. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay in beautiful Wales. Comfy beds and sofas and a lovely roaring fire with a plentiful supply of wood. The boiler had broken on our day of arrival, however Jasper and co ensured we were kept warm with portable heaters which were very effective. Thank you for a great stay. We highly recommend Penylan to others!

We stayed last minute as trapped by the floods thanks to storm Dennis but our hosts pulled out all the stops to make sure we had everything we needed at very short notice and were extremely welcoming. The pub just a short walk away was great. Would definitely recommend.

  • I was into two minds if i was going to write a review because i did not want anyone to stay the next time we book..haha. What a lovely, relaxing weekend we had .In the middle of no where you suddenly find this gorgeous cozy little farm.Thank god for Sat Nav. Stunning views, especially from the hot tub which you can rent at £10 for the hour.My first experience in a hot tub with amazing scenery while i sip my Prosecco. The weather was awfull but in know way spoilt our stay.It was so cozy, especially when we got the fire going.Myself and my wife have our own cleaning company so our expectations are pretty high.Did not dissapoint, spotlessly clean, even the wooden beams which are a magnet for cobwebs. On our arrival we were welcomed with freshly laid eggs, bread and gorgeous fruitcake...plus Prosecco because it was our Anniversary. The owners are not intrusive and just leave you to it but are in a dash if you have a question.Shall definitely be returning. Thankyou ..Jane and Richard

  • Lovely place to stay either on your own, with family or anyone looking for groups of family of friends, a little remote but ideal for peace and quiet.

    Sharon2019-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage nestled in the middle of heaven. The area is lovely. We chose it because we were visiting family but we would now come to stay in its own right. Although there are a couple of interesting local tourist spots (the lake/water reservoir and the waterfall for instance), you may as well just stay here for the amazing surrounding countryside. Absolutely gorgeous, to walk, run or cycle around. The cottage is part of a number of cottages in a C shaped building with a green area in the middle. When I arrived I thought, ohh I wasn't expecting the neighbours. But, as it happened, even though the other three cottages were taken, there's enough privacy and you don't even feel the presence of the others. Also, this is a working farm and the famer was kind enough to show us around the farm where some sheep were about to lamb. Comfy beds, the most spacious bathrooms, and bonus point for the BBQ and the little patio at the back for our breakfast. All in all, a wonderful weekend, not least because we had the most unseasonable warm and sunny weather.

    Bea2019-04-22T00:00:00Z

  • Wow!! What an absolutely amazing stay we had. The welcome basket was wonderful; we really loved the home made touches and the Prosecco for New Year was really appreciated and a great surprise. The location and the hot tub were superb, as well as the cute cottage we stayed in; super warm and cosy with everything you need. The little on-site shop along with some of the BEST eggs I've ever eaten, all of the lovely animals and the very cheeky cats, mean that we are excited to plan our next visit. Thank you for a wonderfully relaxed stay and we very much look forward to visiting again in the near future.

  • Expect the most amazing stay even in the rain like we had! The cottages are lovely inside which is made better with the home made goods and fresh eggs left in a little basket on your arrival. We were celebrating a special occasion and the hosts were amazing in making it special for us! We also took advantage of the hot tub and sauna which was definitely worth it as the views when your in it are stunning! It is also a short drive to Lake Vyrnwy which you should definitely go and explore, even just driving round it us beautiful and you should definitely do the green trail which leads to the most beautiful waterfall I've seen. The farm also had goats, piglets, sheep, horses and chickens, turkeys and cats roaming around and greeting you at your door which was lovely in the morning. All in all me and my partner had an amazing time and the host were amazing in communicating and being there if you needed anything. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to get away from the hussle and bussle of city life.

  • A lovely little cottage getaway. Teresa and Matt always responded quickly to messages and we were greeted on our arrival to some home baked scones and bread which was a thoughtful touch. Amazing views around the farm and even more enjoyable from the hot tub. We would happily return to Cyfie farm!

  • The accommodation is perfect for 2 people. Lovely and cosy with the fire on! We loved the homemade bread and eggs fresh from the farm. We’d hired the hot tub for the evening which is a must, and we didn’t realise there was a sauna too. Perfectly private and very quiet location, just what we needed to switch off from the city.

  • Wheat Cottage is a beautifully styled and cosy place to stay for a couple or a small family. The large bed was very comfortable for my fiance and I, and the shower had a pretty decent flow of hot water - very important during the chilly season we visited. We were charmed by the cats and other farm animals we met there, and totally recommend that you try to wake early to see if you can catch the sunrise that comes out behind the lovely flower garden. The kitchen was adequately equipped and we cooked breakfast with the pretty farm eggs and bread provided by Teresa. Would suggest shopping for groceries before you make your way up to the farm.

  • Teresa and Matt and family were perfect. I came to stay with my partner for a couple of days. Their place is just amazing, I was constantly impressed by what we discovered, they really have thought of everything. It is so cosy, clean and tidy and the most beautiful surroundings you can imagine. The bread and eggs from their farm was some of the best I have ever tasted. You must indulge in the hot tub experience, this was a real treat to have! One of our other favourite highlights was playing with their cat Scampi, who always waited outside for us to come out and spend time with him! 5 stars all round, you really must come stay here! blessings Nick (AirBnB Superhost in Liverpool)

Welcome to Flat 1, 45-46 High Street, centrally located in the picturesque rural town of Llanfyllin. We are located on the outskirts of Snowdonia national Park, close to Lake Vwrnwy, Pistyll Rhaeadr Llanrhaeadr waterfall, National Trust properties eg. Powis and Chirk Castle and Erddig. The nationally renowned downhill mountain biking centre Revolution bike park is in Llangynog, only 9 miles away. The flat sleeps up to 6 with 2 spacious double bedrooms and a third separate room with sofabed.
All towels and bedding are provided. We want to make sure you are as comfortable as possible during your stay. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and a full sized cot. Bedroom 2 has a double bed. There is a 3rd room that has a sofa bed, and this room is also the access room for the main bathroom upstairs. The separate toilet room is downstairs and is accessed through the kitchen. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the old building and staircases, this property would be unsuitable for guests with mobility issues. We ask that care is taken on uneven floor boards and when using the stairs as they are old and winding, and please always closely supervise children during your stay. The patio is a shared space with the residents of flat 2. We therefore ask that noise is kept to a reasonable level and no loud noise on the balcony after 10pm so as not to disturb other residents. Thank you for your co-operation.
Llanfyllin boasts a modern Spar shop with Post Office and a cash point, as well as 3 pubs, 2 cafes, a fruit and veg shop, a restaurant, a butcher's shop, a pharmacy, 2 hairdressers, a doctor's surgery, gift shop, leisure centre with swimming pool and a ladies clothing shop. There are some fantastic walks and bike rides in the local area, please ask for any further details and we'd be happy to help. We are lucky to have some great local walking paths you can enjoy, or there are some fantastic sights to explore in the wider area. Please ask for more information. The Revolution bike park and Mick Extance experience centre are in Llangynog, 9 miles away.

  • Comfortable, charming place to stay in a lovely location

    Hannah2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely old building kept nice and toasty. Plenty of space for the 6 of us staying. The staircase up to the bedrooms is narrow and twisty which could possibly be difficult for elderly or very young children but that didn't take away from what was a lovely stay, we just wish we'd had been in the area longer for a longer stay!

    Rob2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great flat, well appointed, my daughter’s enjoyed playing with the teddies and reading the books! Fab chip shop a stone’s throw away!!

  • Really enjoyed our stay at The Dairy - the location was idyllic and the cottage was both spotless and spacious. We especially appreciated the well equipped/high spec kitchen and good quality bedding - seemingly small things but made a huge difference towards a comfortable stay!

  • The Dairy is situated at a farm down windy country lanes, with rolling hills and open spaces around. The cottage itself is very spacious with large rooms and an open living room with lots of natural light. The kitchen is well equipped with stove, oven, fridge, freezer and microwave. We stayed 5 adult and a toddler for 3 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay -- very much recommended!

A cosy cottage on a working organic farm found through a succession of tight country lanes, riverine fields and low-lying hills. In the distance the Berwyn Mountains rise above the horizon. There are a number of pubs a short drive away – the Station Grill in Llansantffraid (five minutes) is great for groups. Cycle or hike the footpaths or hop in the car to visit many attractions nearby such as Lake Vyrnwy, Powis Castle, Welshpool and Llanfair Railway and the coast is also only an hours drive.

A substantial stone farmhouse, that has been extended to make a house full of character, charm and interest. Five communal areas inside and 2 acres of garden and grounds outside, allows you to all get together or break off into groups. Stroll around or play in the extensive gardens with mature trees. There are two patios and a balcony all with fantastic country views. There are good pub/restaurants in the nearby local villages and Shrewsbury and Welshpool are within easy driving distance.
The house and grounds are a fantastic location for large families or groups of friends who appreciate the countryside outdoors but also like the home comforts. The house is spacious even with many people, as there are large communal rooms. The fact these are located around the property means there can be fun and games in one room at one side of the house and complete solitude in the other. The house has carefully restored features, as well as new tastefully complimentary designs too. The furniture is carefully chosen to be both practical and sympathetic to the rooms they are located in. The large communal family kitchen is the centre point of the house, with two more kitchens available if very large catering events are planned! Outside the gardens are like a park, with old oak, beech and walnut trees as well as spruce, pine and maple. There are two patios, one to the side and one in front of the conservatory, both with ample seating. There is also a balcony to the rear. This truly is a property inside and out with character, space and lovingly cared for.
Rhos-Y-Glascoed Isaf sits on the edge of the Snowdonia park, with Lake Vyrnwy 20 minutes away and Glyndwrs Way passing 300m in front of the house. There are many fine walks whether you prefer following rivers or scaling hills.
  • This place is really great and really relaxing for a out of the city vacation , was really nice and everything was provided and the place is really great at night when the stars come out !

    Abdullah2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this place for a large extended family which consisted of 4 adults and 8 children and the place was perfect. It catered for the large family and we never felt that space was a issue, the farm house had everything that we needed. Tim maintained contact throughout our booking and was on hand when we needed any further advice. This place is excluded and the views are amazing. We spent two nights here and it was a nice place to escape from the city life into the relaxing country life.

  • We had an amazing weekend in this beautiful house, we were 2 families celebrating a birthday and were in Wales to do the white water rafting experience and this accommodation suited us perfectly. The house is such a gem, beautifully decorated and furnished and so well stocked with everything you could need. It is in a stunning position with views across the fields down across the valley. It’s tranquility and remote position mean it is private and so peaceful. Beautiful star gazing opportunities from the patio with no light pollution, shooting stars were seen by all! It is however close to the nearest village where we had a lovely Sunday meal in the local pub. A great find. Tim was a great host who turned the house around for us and accommodated is at very short notice. Thank you to him.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this cottage. It is nestled in a valley between two hills which provide lovely views. The garden is fully enclosed which is great for dogs, and it was nice to have an ample supply of wood for cosy evening fires. My only suggestion would be to provide towels as it's always a bit of a hassle to bring these.

  • Lovely cottage with great views and surrounding areas. Peaceful and quiet but not to far away from towns and places of interest. Dick and June were very welcoming and clearly take pride in their cottage. Lovely stay!

    Carly2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Dick and June were very hospitable and flexible they were always on hand and available if we needed anything. The bed was very comfortable and nice shower! We enjoyed the views from the barn and local country walks. It was not too far from lakes, castles and plenty to do! Thank you for a lovely stay!

    Sarah2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, clean, stylish and perfect in every way. Dick and June we're so helpful and the property is an ideal place to stay for a chilled out country break. Could not recommend this place any more!

    Nicholas2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Dick and June place for 5 days and we really enjoy the peace and the place. Highly recommended. We use it as a base to explore Wales. The house is clean and tidy you have a kitchen with everything you need to cook (we brought our own food) and there is a garden in the back with bbq ,table and chairs . Dick and June are very nice and if you need any help or a recommendation for a place to go they are very helpful and they know the area very well. There are few animals around and our boys love them. Definitely is a place where we want to go back and spend a few more days again.

  • Such a lovely, welcoming stay. I loved this beautiful place! Lovely, big, comfy bed, I slept so well. So reasonably priced. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere. Would 100% stay again. Thank you

  • Tanyfron is a lovely place for the right kind of person. Read what they tell you. It was perfect for myself and a friend. The room was big and airy and the bed king size and comfortable. It was certainly clean and bright and very good value. The house is a work in progress and the people taking it on are all very pleasant and helpful. I look forward to staying there whenever I am in the area again.

The cottage nestles into a working organic farm, so there are animals to seen and walks to be had. A charming vaulted living space warmed by a wood-burner and a kitchen that’s ample for simple meals around the long wooden table. Bring friends, family and the dog. Cycle or hike the footpaths or hop in the car to visit many attractions nearby such as Lake Vyrnwy, Powis Castle, Welshpool and Llanfair Railway and the coast is also only an hours drive.
Cottage has it's own patio area onto a large communal garden and orchard. Large open pond in the grounds. Shared laundry with washing machine and dryer.
Peaceful, rural location set in a valley in Mid Wales. Set in an organic working farm.
  • A very cosy and comfortable house. We had a lovely Christmas stay and appreciated the Christmas tree. We loved the kitchen/lounge - great for a sociable holiday. Beds very comfortable, water always hot. Thank you very much for a great few days.

A stunning barn conversion for sociable gatherings on an award winning organic farm. Set in a beautiful, quiet rural setting. Great care has been lavished on the restoration, with oak floors and doors, a wood-burning stove and three unfussy bedrooms. Cycle or hike the footpaths around the farm or hop in the car to visit many attractions nearby such as Lake Vyrnwy, Powis Castle, Welshpool and Llanfair Railway and the coast is also only an hours drive away.
Open pond in the garden with different wildlife visitors.
A tranquil and beautiful Mid Wales valley.
  • A perfect place to relax!! Spotlessly clean. The wood burner was lovely . Good to be able to bring our dog. Could have stayed longer. WiFi and signal a little unpredictable but this meant playing cards and conversation were utilised to the full, reminded us of a bygone age!! Would definitely return . Bev
