Places to stay in Mora
This little cabin is nestled in the pines with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. The roads are a little rough, but this will only assure you a quite and peaceful retreat away from crowded campgrounds and congested resort areas. If you are interested in hiking or exploring, this is the perfect place, or you can simply relax and enjoy some quite solitude on the mountain. Contact host during inclement weather to check on the roads
The cabin is off grid, We do have a few solar lights and a lantern for your convenience and there is an outhouse in the back. The cabin is situated in a beautiful meadow with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. There is a wood stove to take the chill away on those cool evenings. There is no running water in the cabin, but we provide adequate water for dishes and drinking. There is plenty of water available on the property.. The small kitchen is set up with a propane stovetop, a sink and all the dishes you need for cooking a good meal. Outside you will find a fire pit to sit and enjoy the stars and roast marshmallows or make s'mores. There is an abundance of firewood to take away the chill on a cold night or barbeque outside. The cabin sits on a ranch known as Los Vallecitos. We raise grass-fed beef and lamb that is certified through AWA and market produce seasonally. Our meats and produce are available for purchase if you notify us in advance. Please keep in mind, this cabin is secluded which means it is a good drive off of the interstate. The entrance to the property is 3.5 miles up and county road and another 2 miles on a mountain road. This is a perfect spot for getting away, cell service is spotty, depending on who your provider is. Verizon seems to get the best service. On the property you will find a pond, river frontage and lots of hiking opportunities. We are a short drive to the Santa Fe National Forest for longer hikes.
We are close to the Santa Fe National Forest and the Pecos wilderness is not far if you are looking for hiking adventures. We also have a couple of locals who offer trail rides into the Santa Fe National Forest. But you need to book in advance. If you want to enjoy some of the local flavor, you can visit the Victory Ranch where they raise alpacas, The Mora Valley Spinning Mill where you can watch how worsted yarns are produced, purchase their yarns / drink a cup of coffee. Mora also has several restaurants, but we do not have a grocery store, so make sure you bring your food supplies.
  • This is a very comfortable cabin that offers great privacy in a very beautiful setting. It has everything needed except for running water, but some water containers are provided. We greatly enjoyed strolling around the property with our kids and dogs.

  • The property was exactly as listed. We completely enjoyed the quiet, solitude and beauty of the mountains each and every day. We were able to take daily hikes (averaged between 2.5 & 3.25 miles per day). Our dog (Great Pyrenese/Pit Mix) absolutely loved it too. We let her have free reign of the meadow and never had any issues with other animals or the ranch dogs. The daily temps for us were between low 30's and high 50's, but the stove in the cabin gives off plenty of heat for some of the cold evenings. Each night, we have plenty of light from the solar-powered battery, and never lost power. We did bring a small generator to charge our electronics (watches to track our hikes and tablets for reading). Even though our phones stayed in Extended 3G (Verizon), we had no data, texting was spotty at times, but had no issues calling. As everyone else has stated, you definitely need a 4x4 to navigate the road. We had to deal with snow, ice, and mud on the way up and down. I'm definitely planning to come back for future sabbaticals.

  • Awesome spot for an off grid adventure. You can’t beat the views and stars. As others have commented, the road is no joke, that first hill is a steep mountain road. My tundra 4x4 did well. Carla is a great host, place was clean and she is quick to respond to all needs.

    Tracey2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • My dogs and I had the greatest evening getaway! Carla was very responsive, and checked in on me to be sure I arrived ok! It is definitely set back on a windy road, but once you get there it is well worth it! Hope to come back again!

    Montana2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • There is too many good things to say about the place. The view is amazing and full of amazing small additions. Highly recommend a visit.

  • This is a gorgeous rural property perfect for escaping your busy life to enjoy peace in nature. Carla was a lovely host and made sure we arrived and left safely and that we had everything we needed. She employs locals who work on the property and they were also just the kindest souls. The tiny house has just what you need and is simple in the best way. Our dog Nelly had a blast running around and so did our new puppy (he was a sweet surprise that we found on the way up). The stars were amazing and nothing beats fresh crisp air. Road is definitely rough. The leftover snow made the roads wet and VERY muddy. We were in a big jeep so it was no issue but I would not recommend driving anything without a bit of clearance and four wheel drive. We are already looking at our calendar for our next adventure back up to the tiny house! Thank you Carla!

    Olivia2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fun stay here. Super remote with great views. The road going up to the cabin is no joke. Our wimpy city car got stuck in the snow before even making it to the first gate! Be sure to arrange a lift up to and from the cabin with Carla ahead of time.

    Hunter2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Complete peace and quite in a secluded little off-the-grid cabin with some breathe taking views.. no neighbors no anybody. What more could you ask for.

The tipi is set in an isolated spot on the mountain where you can find peace and beauty beyond your expectations. Away from the hustle bustle of city life and away from congested campgrounds you can enjoy the simple beauty of a Tipi surrounded by spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Some people might use the word Glamping. Guests are often surprised to find a nice comfy bed with an open fire pit inside. You can describe this experience as authentic, rustic or perhaps ROMANTIC!!!
While a tipi does not have the indoor conveniences you might find in a hotel, we have adequate restroom facilities (an outhouse), everything you need to cook over a fire, as well as an ample supply of water and firewood. The tipi has a double bed with flannel sheets to keep you warm and cozy at night. There is a fire pit inside of the tipi for warmth and enjoyment. If you enjoy cooking on a campfire, we have a cast iron Dutch oven and skillet as well as a good grill for cooking. If you need a quick cup of coffee in the morning, there is a butane burner with a percolator. You can hang a hammock in the trees, take your shoes off and enjoy the time away from the hustle bustle. If you are looking for something with a little more comfort and out of the elements, look up comfort in the woods. This is a tiny house, with a loft. It has a wood heat stove and a propane cook stove with a queen bed in the loft and a twin bed with a trundle downstairs. You can sit on the swing on the front porch and enjoy your morning cup of coffee or Serenity on the mountain which is another cabin with electricity and running water all with spectacular views and total privacy.
The only neighbors you have besides the few of us living on the ranch are the birds and the squirrels. Sometimes a deer or an elk might be seen grazing in the meadows in the early morning or evening. As we are a working ranch, we also have horses, sheep and cattle.
  • Carla is not joking when she says high clearance/AWD recommended!! I have a Volvo XC70 with AWD and the clearance of a Subaru outback. We barely made it up the hill! But we DID make it, and it was a lovely spot to stay.

  • Spending the night in a tipi and walking up to snow inside is an unforgettable experience!! And Carla provides plenty of blankets, water and other kitchen or fire items. It does get cold when the sun goes down so be sure you can keep a fire going!!! Loved it, beautiful place to escape to!

    Jenn2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Had a blast staying with my brother in the teepee! Beautiful scenery and stars, although can get a bit chilly so bring appropriate gear. Carla was very helpful, even let us borrow chains for snowy roads!

  • The view was worth every penny. Absolutely beautiful view and land. Super awesome unique experience.

This charming REMOTE adobe sits in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains . The village of Mora lies ~ 15 minutes away, Sipapu ski resort 40 minutes, & Taos ski area 1 hour. The casita sits 4 miles into a canyon on a DIRT road at ~8500 feet. Surrounded by 10 acres of Ponderosa Pine/Douglas Fir it is a wonderful base for nearby hiking, hunting, fishing, skiing & dirt biking.
The adobe is very remote according to most people. Directions should be carefully followed. GPS and cell service are not reliable! Although this mountain adobe is a wonderful getaway it is far from 'rustic'. All modern conveniences (minus wifi and tv) are available. It is situated less than 2 miles from Morphy lake. The surrounding mountains offer spectacular views and cool summer evenings. Great starting place for hunters, hikers, fishing and leaf peaking in the fall. Local residents offer horse back riding, guiding and local tour spots including pick your own raspberries at Salmon Ranch, the Alpaca Ranch, Tapetes de Lana, Mill Fest at Cleveland Roller Mill and Fort Union tours.
Mora is a mountain community with rich cultural heritage. There are several events that celebrate this heritage including the Mora Fiestas (end of July) the Cleveland Mill Fest (early September) Raspberry picking (end of summer) and of course hunting & fishing. It is a beautiful gateway to amazing ski adventures such as Angel Fire, Sipapu, Red River and Taos.
  • What a great place! Romantic and charming. Cozy and out of the way, we just loved it. No TV. No internet. No pushy people in overpriced SUVs adamant to turn illegally in front of you to get into Starbucks. It was the perfect hideout for our annual mountain adventure! Truly a getaway. And the wood stove took me right back to my childhood. What is better than a warm mug and a warm fire on a cold morning? We loved it! It was an experience we will always remember.

    Justin2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The mountain casita was a great place to stay. Despite there being snow on the last few miles getting there, our Subaru handled it just fine. The horses were sweet but we had to be sure they did not sneak out. They came right up behind me while I opened and closed the gate. The casita was clean and welcoming. The snow and stars added a beautiful touch to the mountain scenery. My wife and I had a great time just relaxing.

    Andrew2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This casita was so lovely! It had everything we needed for an amazing getaway. It was not hard to find and the inside was perfect. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone. Beautiful location!

    Gaelyn2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful country and lovely landscapes, friendly horses are wonderful. Thank you!

    Cara2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, we canceled our late November stay on Erika and Albert's recommendation given the serious snow accumulation limiting access to the Mountain casita. Erika and Albert were excellent communicators, keeping us updated on weather conditions and working with us to cancel the reservation. I'd feel confident booking with them again, and hope to do so when the season permits.

    Sam & Alli2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway ! It s on a beautiful mountain property and very private. The wood stove and the bbq grill was a plus . Very clean and cozy . I have no complaints, It was better than I expected.

  • Great communication by hosts and perfect for a nice getaway from life’s hustle and bustle. Beautiful views and comfortable space.

    Charles2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The home exceeds expectations and the atmosphere is what dreams are made of. Sitting on the porch and drinking coffee in the morning and seeing the friendly horses with the mountains and forest as your view makes it a tranquil and relaxing experience. Easy to get to as long as you follow the directions provided by the owners and they are available anytime you need assistance. I will be looking to come back for sure.

The cabin sets in a meadow looking at the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, A pond and lush green grass make this a special place. The cabin has all of the amenities. While it boasts having running water, a bathroom and a full kitchen, the special part is the beautiful setting. The entrance of the property borders the Rio de La Casa, a small river running with clear mountain runoff. You may see sheep grazing the meadows, the quiet solitude in this beautiful valley will bring peace to your soul.
This space is unique in it's location. Set on the edge of Los Vallecitos (Little Valley) at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. There are 2 ponds as well as River frontage at the entrance to the property. This small cabin is a beautiful quite retreat. Please note that the roads can be rough particularly in inclement weather conditions. We try to maintain them but the weather is at time challenging. I travel these roads regularly in my Subaru which has 8 1/2" of clearance and don't have trouble except in snow.
We are located at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We are a couple of miles from the Santa Fe National Forest and from there not far from the Pecos Wilderness. In the valley there are a range of restaurants and other activities. Please visit ourmora.com for more local activities.
  • A beautiful peaceful retreat in the woods, picturesque views, and quiet enough to hear a mouse.. The views are to die for, and the hospitality is unrivaled. 10/10 recommend and would go back

  • Our family of 5 loved our stay. We have 3 daughters who didn't want to leave. The view is breathtaking!! Property caretakers, Audrey and Austin were so sweet and informative. The road to get up there is a bit rough and definitely questionable for a city car in bad weather. Overall, we had a wonderful time.

    Myra2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! Beautiful country!

    Miyoko2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Serenity on Carla's ranch was exactly what we needed - super quiet, fresh air, amazing views, and adventure. I was looking forward to catching some sights of the animals but was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the horses & cattle grazing right next to the cabin when we first arrived. The companion dogs are adorable and super friendly, and loved to say hello as we were walking around and exploring the grounds. Carla is the coolest, btw. This is definitely a great spot to breathe and slow down for a few days.

    Kaitlyn2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Carla's cabin was great! Tranquil and remote, yet not too far from civilization. She was very flexible with our arrival timeline.

    Matthew2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this airbnb! It was worth every penny. Carla was very responsive, the cabin was equipped with all essentials, including firewood to have a nice fire in the fire pit. The location is at the top of a beautiful meadow overlooking the mountains. We were able to explore, hike around, and watch a beautiful sunset. There is one hill leading up to the cabin, roughly 200 yards in length, that was pretty steep and muddy from the melted snow, but we were able to get up it with no problem in a 4 wheel drive F150. Overall great experience and great location!

    Matthew2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in this cozy cabin. Carla was very helpful and accommodating. Her large, wooded property has stunning views of the mountains, and we especially loved exploring on hikes.

    Lauren2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • I really have no words other than perfection. The host was amazing, description of bnb spot on, directions perfect and the memories made were priceless. The views here are breath taking. It was an the perfect break from cell phones , TV, and hussel of every day life. My boys had a blast and my family will remember this stay forever!

  • The house was just as described and my family and I had a very enjoyable stay. It’s very conveniently located for getting to the ski resorts in the area and offers a very nice, remote get away for the end of the day.

    Jared2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We used this home for our ski trip to Sipapu and really enjoyed the stay. It had everything we needed and was close to the resort. If you have a problem with complete silence you may want to bring some white noise. It's very quiet and little things like the heater coming on at night may bother you. There is plenty of room for a larger group.

  • Our stay at the Porter House was a weekend to remember. The quaint adobe style home was perfect for our group. During our short stay we enjoyed the amazing views that surrounded the home, walks by the Mora river and the amazing sounds of elk bugling from the surrounding alfalfa fields in the early morning. We appreciate your guidance on local places to eat and shop. We will definitely be back next year around the same time!

With the exception of out-of-state healthcare workers, the "Casita in Ojo" is closed for the duration of the Covid-19 outbreak. We are accepting reservations for future dates. The cancellation policy is "lenient", in most cases requiring only 24hr. notice. The casita is a 1-bedroom cottage with a private patio and very close to the Mineral Springs and Spa. It is easy to find and ideally situated to see places such as: Rio Grande del Norte Monument, Santa Fe, Taos, and Ghost Ranch.
This casita is perfect for vacations, sabbaticals, or time away to get your book done, to plein air paint or photograph the area (Carson National Forest is a five minute drive away). It has a queen size bed and a love seat that converts to a small single bed. There are four local establishments to eat just a short walk away and a post office and a convenience store are a bit further. The casita is ideally situated to explore the magnificent, enchanted area. The host has degrees in history, traveled extensively and speaks English and conversational German. He lives in his own home on the property.
We are a 12 minute walk (or 2 minute drive) away from the Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs and Spa.
  • David’s casita is the best Airbnb Ive stayed at. At an incredible value, and 2 minute drive to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs, you cannot beat this deal! Quiet, so cozy, well equipped kitchen, bathtub, comfy living room, soft bed and lovely, private patio area! Enjoy yourself!

    Valerie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Casita is a lovely little home away from home with special touches of local art work adorning the walls. The kitchen was well equipped enough for me to cook all my meals and I saved lots of money by avoiding the $200 plus rooms at the spa down the road. I enjoyed walking to the hot springs and the enclosed patio is nice to enjoy if it is warm enough. David was very responsive to all communications and gave good directions.

    Jenn2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Words cannot describe how amazing this wonderful Casita is and how great our host David was with everything. If I could give 11 out of 10 stars I would. We hope to be back soon. Highly recommend!

    Corey2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very relaxing getaway to celebrate our birthdays at Ojo Caliente. It was a nice walk to the hot springs from the casita.

  • Little gem in Ojo! A 2-minute drive to the springs or a 10-minute walk. The casita has all you need and is super cute. A perfect retreat place. I will definitely be back!

    Agnes & Erik2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was cozy, featured great local art, and we loved being able to cook in the full kitchen. The place was plenty warm with space heaters, we had the kitchen supplies we needed, and the location was right around the corner from Ojo Caliente hot springs. I would definitely stay again. :)

    Molly2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • David's casita is a comfortable, sweet home-away-from-home that is perfectly situated for enjoying Ojo Caliente Hot Springs or jaunts to Santa Fe, Abiquiu and Taos. Lots of art on the walls and interior touches made the place visually nice. Very private and quiet.

    Leah2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • this place is perfect! it’s so close to Ojo so you can go back and forth between the two. it’s much more affordable than staying at Ojo and has all the amenities. it’s super comfortable and cute and clean and a great deal!!!

The hosts are very easy to communicate with and responsive to questions etc. We look forward to staying there again in the future.

  • Outstanding location just 20’ from Sipapu and less to some great hikes. The house comfortably sleeps 8 (3x couples). The proprietor even built a fire to start, but we didn’t have time to enjoy it :-( Bring your groceries, it’s a little remote, but a beautiful little spot. Reasonable rental price; We’ll be back!

  • Martha’s place was a great! It was very clean and cozy, a perfect mountain getaway.

    Raven2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • 11/10 would recommend to anyone! The house was in a great spot for anybody skiing at Sipapu. The house has everything you could possibly need. Really clean and everything works.

    Ethan2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house was the perfect size for our family of 8 people. The attic bedroom is adorable and the littles loved staying there - it was like a treehouse they said. The house was very clean and the fireplace worked well making us nice and cozy. The drive up to Sipapu ski resort is gorgeous and short making it a perfect place to stay if you plan to go to that resort. The owners were always quick to respond to messages from us during our stay. Over all great experience!

This log Hogan (or Hogaan) is an 8 sided log cabin in the Northern mountains of New Mexico. The 8 sided design came from the Navajo people. If you want to get back to nature, experience a rustic environment and enjoy some solitude without "roughing it" then the Red Tail Retreat is just for you. What sets this cabin apart is that it is "set apart" from any other dwellings. Your own private mountain retreat.
This one room cabin has hot and cold running water, indoor plumbing, is heated by a wood stove and a small LP Heater, 3 great propane burners for cooking, and for the more adventurous, a fully functional antique wood burning stove. The large surround porch hosts a hammock for relaxing as well as a porch swing. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, silverware and cooking utensils. While the wood stove is adequate to provide heat in winter months we have added a small LP Heater to supplement the wood burning stove.
We are rural but only 2 miles off a paved state highway. This area was part of an original Spanish land grant and has a great deal of rich history. There are many interesting stories that help us understand how the Southwest was settled.
  • Red Tail cabin is a beautiful and magical place and highly recommended! The host is kind and responds to questions and requests quickly.

  • We Cannot say enough about your wonderful Hogaan Cabin! Everything was perfect! We enjoyed the area & took several hikes around & sat on the porch hammock & swing built for two:) it was just what we needed & we're thankful you allowed us to visit! The Hogaan is fully equipped with everything we needed & we enjoyed using the antique wood burning stove to make dinner, lunch & breakfast! Barbara & Larry are great host & have maps & magazines to tell you all about their area! Barbara & Larry even had our names on their Homemade Welcome Sign:) they have all genres of movies to enjoy in front of the cozy fireplace! We will be contacting them in the near future to stay again!! Much Love, Chris & Cyn..

  • If you are looking for a cozy, charming getaway this is the place for you! We used the fireplace and were so warm all week. The bed is very comfy and warm, the kitchen well suited, the shower hot, the views lovely, stargazing exceptional, and access to the mountains in the backyard! Will definitely be coming back. We went to the local farmers coop and found delicious local eggs and veggies, too, so we didn’t have to bring everything for the week. We also had fun checking out the local wool mill - beautiful rugs hand woven by local artisans!

  • Barbara's place was just what my friend and I were looking for to have a weekend away from the city. The cabin is right next to Carson National Forest where we went for a hike and explored an old stone house. The cabin has everything you need and is very cozy. It is filled with beautiful antiques pieces that we later learned were passed down through the family. The property is so peaceful and our dogs loved to roam around the forest. It was pure bliss sitting on the front porch to watch the sunrise, sunset, and even some stargazing. Theresa's Tameles is a must have! Delicious tamales and breakfast burritos!!

    Krystle2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara’s cabin was the perfect place to get away and relax. The cabin sits directly in front of one of the best mountain sunrises we have ever seen. Super cozy and fully stocked with everything you could want or need, the place has it all. The cabin is near skiing and winter sports and wonderful hiking and fishing in the spring and summer. Our stay couldn’t have been better. Barbara added a great deal of value by suggesting things to do and places to go and is very sweet. If you like to get away and spend time in nature, Barbara’s cabin is a “Must Stay”.

    Perla2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! We absolutely loved the views, quietness, and the space. It’s a little rugged gem with all the amenities! Perfect for anyone looking for some time to just relax &/or to get re-centered! We had all we needed to stay warm and cook full meals. The host was quick to respond and was thoughtful to leave us with all we needed to contribute to a great stay. The one room hogan is located in solitude so it’s perfect for couples or friends who enjoy nature.

    Lila2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nothing but positivity on this review! We stayed at this heavenly cabin this past summer and fell in love! We knew we wanted to come in the winter to experience the seasons. We (dog included) hiked the property with a dusting of snow. The cabin was warm with the heater provided by Barbara and the wood stove kept us cozy and provided excellent soothing sounds. As always, the cabin was clean and spotless! We hope to be back in a few months!

lots of organic food home made, old buildings explore, green valleys rivers and mountains fishing streams, and only 6 miles hiking trails to the sangra del cristal mountains forest and wilderness, happy to guild, good and friendly people, good spanish restaurant with very good new mexican music and food ex. don't forget that we are only a few miles away from well know resort areas like angle fire resort, and the sipapo ski resort area, find more resort areas in our web site Mora new mexico.com
  • This is a very rustic and homey place. We felt very comfortable and Manuel is a great host. He helped us wherever he could and even told us about some secret places to go and visit. The house has a fireplace and gas heaters for the winter. It is very cozy. The beds where clean and freshly made. There is a bedroom with one queen size bed and a children room with two twins. The house has everything that you would need even washer and dryer. It is a little close to a street but there is not much traffic so it is not loud at all. Right behind the house begins a nice little way up the mountain. Goof for joggers :-) And that big fluffy dog that runs around in the neighborhood is so friendly don't be scared. Overall it is a very nice place that I can recommend for families that want to wind down from the stress of the daily routine.

One of the nice things about my 3 bedroom 1,650 sq ft home is that it is a peaceful and quiet setting but just minutes from town. It has an open floor plan creating a feeling of spaciousness and has lots of natural light. The bedroom has a Queen size comfortable bed. Great mountain views front and back with cottonwood, pine and fruit trees. The back porch has a swing that gets the early morning sun and is a nice place to sit with your cup of coffee.
MY HOME: Keyless entry to front door and your private room (after booking be on the lookout for an email with the code to get in.) The home is heated with a wood burning stove so is quite cozy in the Wintertime and in Summertime I use a swamp cooler. You can have full access to the shared home including living room space, full kitchen and all appliances, vitamix etc... dining room, laundry, and back porch. I have wifi which is usually very good. The home is on one level with no stairs, except one at the front door and lots of parking available on the property. I currently Airbnb two of the rooms in my home. I work from home so you may see me during your stay and I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Complimentary tea, coffee and oatmeal is available if you would like to help yourself. Mi casa es su casa. I look forward to having you stay. LOCATION: Espanola is the closest town, just 5 minutes away, located between Santa Fe (25 miles) and Taos (50 miles). In Espanola you can go to the movie theater, hang out at the local coffee shop or attend Kundalini Yoga & meditation classes in the Sikh community. There is also a Fitness center with pool located just 10 minutes away in Nambe and only a 15 min drive to El Santuario de Chimayo Historic Site, where pilgrims walk for miles and gather every year. Ojo Caliente Spa and hotsprings are 30 mins away and you can also stop at Origin's and take Ra Paulette’s cave tour on the way. 5 mins up the street from my home there is access to BLM land where you can go for a nice early morning walk and enjoy New Mexico’s beautiful blue skies.
Santa Claran Hotel has the best coffeeshop in town & Morning Glory Cafe recently opened and is glorious to sit outside..

Grandma's House is an adobe house, built about 400 years ago, located in Holman, NM. The Sangre de Cristo Mountains, specifically La Jicarita peak/ridge with the Pecos Wilderness visible from the home with hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, snowshoeing and much more, close by. A Good and relaxing place to do artwork, read and meditate. Something for everyone with a visit by car to the eight northern pueblos, old historic churches, mills, and abundance of culture and history awaits you.
Holman N, M is a city located in Mora County. The original native name of the town was Liz Koh (dark waters), the Mexicans called it Agua Negra and the first postmaster named Holman because "ole Charlie" could not speak a bit of Spanish or Jicarilla Apache. The real town where the house is located is called Tramperos. Grandma's house is a combination of many years of history and style of interior construction, such as Adobe/bricks, small doors, earthen floors, and ax cut beams eventually move into new forms of larger windows, a door with a large entrance, adobe walls with combinations of panels and sheets of plaster. The walls and windows are very thick in some areas, three feet wide. A hidden roof of the earth on the roof of the beams / Latias that makes it a true home of the earth. We have done everything possible to keep all this intact with minimal change. As was the custom years ago, the water well was dug by hand, which can be seen in the front of the house; the apple orchard with Acequia/ ditch of water. The house has new amenities such as running water and bathroom, but you still have the opportunity to use the "Out House" if you wish. Grandma's house has many good memories and positive energy. Grandma was always cooking on her wood stove, sitting on her porch or doing the activities to maintain her house and her yard. Many members of the family experienced the warmth and hospitality of the grandmother, and for that reason, we wanted to name her "Grandma's House" in honor of her and the other great-grandmothers who were here before us. Grandma's House doesn't have handicap ramps.
You can start by visiting La Cueva Mill, the St. Vrain Mill, and the Cleveland Roller Mill. Another mill that exists along highway 518 is the infamous Mora Valley Spinning Mill which is also home to the Tapetes De Lana Art Gallery and Store as well as The Coffee Barn snack shop. There are five (5) Restaurants serving traditional New Mexican food. Historic missions churches, beautiful hiking trails and much more. You can be camping, playing golf, experiencing the lifestyle in the country and exploring Mora. Also, we are at 45 minutes of Taos and Las Vegas, NM, at 1 hour to Angel Fire and Red River, 30 minutes of Sipapu, 2 hours to Taos Ski Valley. There are some farmers and ranchers that sell their fresh products, but the town doesn't have a grocery store. so, if you want to cook in Grandma's House you can bring your own groceries or make a trip to Taos or Las Vegas, enjoy the view and buy the groceries.
  • This sweet home, so old and rich with character and warmth truly gave my family the best New Years and holiday experience we have ever had together. The hosts were amazing and covered all our requests immediately including a lot of great firewood to keep us warm during a particular cold spell. This ancient adobe home is an antidote to the modern world that sometime gets us all down. The small touches provided by Gilbert and Nancy, including dried fruit and spot-on local tips were what made our stay so special.

  • Grandmas House is the perfect name for this cozy little spot. It truly felt like we were spending the weekend at Grandmas House. Quaint and comfortable. Everything was clean and welcoming, including our hosts, Gilbert and Nancy. Thank you again.

Without hesitation my girlfriend and I will choose that place for another long week end.

Our home is a holy-haven for those who value meditation, mindfulness, eco-awareness, community living, and somewhat rustic conditions. Towards this goal, we ask that people who stay here are scent and chemical free; stay at least three nights; and are comfortable with our guidelines. There is access to a loft which has a futon mattress on the floor and space for mats; great for families, students, tribal folks. Extras: inspirational books, art supplies, omnidirectional hiking, and vast vistas.
The space we offer is a private bedroom with queen bed, desk, “coffee table”, chair, bedside table, shelf, an additional seat or surface for things; plus a loft which has a futon mattress on the wood floor, carpet, lots of space, and nice views. More chairs, mats and bedding are available for children or travel companions. The downstairs space has radiant floor heating, rough/cut wood ceilings, walls of beautiful mud-mica-straw plaster on “green” pumice blocks. The result is warm and earthy. Beyond the room (and loft), around the hallway, is the original bathroom with toilet and sink. That is only for airbnb guests, not for residents. Beyond the kitchen and great room is a newer bathroom, spacious and well lit. The shower there is both for airbnb guests as well as for one resident. There are grab bars near the toilet, shower area, and tiled sink. Parking is adjacent to the house. There are no streetlights, so star and moon clarity is ours to celebrate. The great room is available for spiritual practice, and the kitchen available from 7 AM to 7 PM. Pets are welcome (each one counts as a guest). We do offer Wi-Fi, though we unplug the modem when it is not being used (Airbnb guests are welcome to plug it in as needed). We also have a booster if the signal is not strong enough in airbnb space. We are a TV free zone, value hearing the close-by sounds of nature, and request any online live streaming be audible only within the airbnb private space. Thanks!
We live near the river/riverbed, off of on a quiet road, so walks are available night or day. We often hear coyote at night. There is a lovely park adjacent with play equipment for little people. At certain parts of the year, on certain days, there is a little preschool next-door, from which sounds of playing children can be heard. One neighbor have a dog who announces new arrivers. Her name is Lila snd she is easily befriended. When resident has a cat who is very agile and friendly. She loves to go up into the loft, but we prefer she not go up there.
  • This home is a peaceful respite from the daily grind of modern society. When here, you will feel more in-tune with the earth and the natural cycle of the day. You will also leave with a better understanding of how we can live more more sustainable lifestyle, both environmentally and spiritually.

    Casey2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet. Tranquil. Nature. Serene. Off the beaten path, “Old Santa Fe” style and hospitality from an aware, gentle and kind host.

    Kat2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Rahmaneh's home is truly a meaningful experience. It's clean, comfortable and convenient for anyone passing through. The grounds have beautiful views and trails and goats. If you're looking for a mindful retreat, this is the perfect spot. Rahmaneh is kind and wise. I cannot think of a better host.

    Katherine2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rahmaneh space is a very special place with a very special woman. My boyfriend and I loved making hot tea that was provided in the morning and enjoying the sun come up on the loft upstairs. We truly enjoyed staying with Rahmaneh and talking to her.

    Stephanie2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Eclectic vibe and warm yet down to earth. We were given a warm welcome and even a yoga class to relieve my back pain. Rahmaneh herself was thoughtful and kind, she gave us our space as if we were part of the family. My daughter enjoyed sleeping at the loft.

    Beverly2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks!

    Alex2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rahmaneh was very calm, kind, and open. She was also a great communicator. The place was exactly as described and my stay definitely added to my Santa Fe experience. I also enjoyed the quiet solitude of being away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas and being out in the beauty of nature. I definitely left feeling more grounded and centered.

    Michael2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic time staying at Rahmenah's! I was cozy and comfortable in the space, despite frigid temps in Santa Fe (11 degrees!), and it was so quiet and calm on the property. Felt good to see stars at night. Made a lot of use of the electric kettle, there was a mini fridge in the room but i left this unplugged and just used the main fridge in the kitchen for a few provisions. Piping hot showers were heated by solar power, so I opted to shower in evenings to make sure I got the best temperature water. Rahmenah keeps an early schedule and asks guests to be mindful of noise in the evenings, and to practice recycling/compost with waste materials -- easy to do as all bins are labeled, and the AirBnB space has a private parking space and entry. Next time I'm in Santa Fe, I hope to stay here -- highly recommend!

Our 100 year old adobe house is located in the heart of the Santa Fe Baca District. We are 1.8 miles from the plaza-- a 10 minute drive and about a 35-40 minute walk. You will have your own private entrance and private bathroom. There are walking trails close by and great restaurants are in walking distance. We are a 15-20 minute walk to the Santa Fe Farmers Market, and we are two blocks from public transportation. Please be aware this room is for 1 guest per night.
The room has a private entrance and bathroom and has been decorated with Latin American folk art, and is authentic Adobe. The room has a coffee maker, small fridge, tea kettle, towels, a VERY comfy bed (it's a soft mattress), wifi and a porch. Please be aware our adobe does not have AC, but stays pretty cool during the summer and a fan is provided. The room does not have a TV. You will be sharing the rest of the house with me, my husband Luis and Roommate Martin and our cat Sam. Please not this is a very old Adobe home and ceiling height is about 6 feet.
The Baca district is perfect example of old adobe Santa Fe. Families who have been here for generations live here, as well as newly arrived families. This neighborhood has become popular with art studios and is blocks away from great restaurants (Tuneup, Counter Culture) and bike trails (acequia rail trail). We are 15 minutes walking to the famous Santa Fe Farmers Market. If you want an authentic Santa Fe experience you have found the right place.
  • What a sweet little room this is! Perfect for a solo traveler—it’s very private, but Alicia was always available if I had a question and gave excellent suggestions. The bed is literally the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on.

  • Yesssss! Stay here. Gorgeous camp spots and Carla is an amazing hostess and even helped accommodate our pop up camper. Thank you!

    Mary2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Carla's ranch is absolutely beautiful, and the perfect retreat into the mountains for an experience like no other. We truly loved getting off the beaten path (including "off-roading" up to the farm!), and having some quiet and serene time in nature. The views around the property are amazing and we were able to explore a lot.

    Laura2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • All the other reviews were spot on. AMAZING location/views. Rough terrain for driving (we had 4WD SUV and were fine). Had to kids (6 and under) and they had a blast seeing the cows and sheep. Very peaceful. Great trip! If I go again, id try to stay in the Teepee (unfortunately it was already booked).

    Michael2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is the ideal place for off-off the grid relaxation and camping at its most rural, serene finest. Be prepared for an off road journey to get there and to love the sheep that go with the acreage. We like dispersed camping and the location felt like we were still dispersed, but with a local guide of sorts. One of a kind and well worth the value. Super rainy one of our nights and it made no difference, still the rural bliss we all look for when wanting to “get away”

  • This is an amazing place to get away from it all—so peaceful and beautiful. It is quiet and out of the way; a perfect place to be unplugged from technology, crowds, noise, etc. In addition to nice camping spots, there is also an option to rent a tipi and/or simple, cozy cabin for colder weather. I hope to return many times!

Contemporary charm combined with classic Santa Fe architectural design. Perfect for a solo traveler or a couple, this studio casita with its own private patio and yard, is the perfect place to unwind. Stroll to the Plaza in a short 10 minutes, then relax at home on the charming patio or in the sitting room in front of the kiva fireplace – we supply the wood! Includes parking for one vehicle in the driveway, and dogs are welcome.
The kitchen is fully equipped including all necessary appliances, cooking utensils and flatware. There is an intimate two-person dining table, complete with bar stools, perfect for taking meals at home. Enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi. Vigas, saltillo tile floors, adobe walls throughout and the lovely skylights offer a tangible window into Santa Fe’s unique architectural history.
The casita sits just northwest of downtown Santa Fe along the Arroyo de los Lovatos. The location of the casita provides a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of town, but its proximity to some of the city’s main attractions makes it prime real-estate for experiencing both the tranquility and the playfulness of The City Different.

  • This place is cute, stylish and in a great location to downtown. It is located close to so many different places and sites! Check in was a breeze and the property is private and awesome. We really enjoyed our time staying here!

  • Charles' place is adorable--classic NM architecture, with the vigas, the kiva fireplace--and cozy. The skylights make it feel bigger, bright and airy. It's a very easy and comfortable stroll down to the plaza--I think we made it in 7 or so minutes--and a still pretty enjoyable walk to the railyards. We had a great stay, and would recommend Charles' place to family and friends when they're heading into town!

Delightful sunny room in adobe home 5 minutes by car from plaza and the opera. Brick floors, high wood ceilings, light filled house. Use of the kitchen and 2 patios, shared bath with one other room, off street parking. House is in pine covered foothills, 30 minutes to ski area. Sorry, but we do not accept pets.
This is a home filled with Asian antiques and textiles while still having the feel of a traditional Santa Fe house. The patios are secluded and surrounded with pines. The house is run with passive and active solar and has a water catchment system and greenhouse.
The neighborhood is one with large acre zoning and is filled with trees. The house is on 3 1/2 acres with an arroyo for walking. Hiking trails are within 15 min of the house.
  • Amazing place. Perfect Santa Fe stay (and vibe). Susan and Steven are wonderful hosts.

  • We were delightfully surprised to find this place. We took up all the suggestions from Susan and had fabulous meals and wonderful magical walks in and around Santa Fe. Her home is welcoming and peaceful. At first we thought it was too close to the highway - but discovered it is incredibly quiet and tucked away while close at the same time.

Exceptional hiking in the vicinity. Charming Santa Fe style casita with one bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Living room with sofa couch, dining area, and full kitchen. Quiet upstairs, great cooking eating and TV watching downstairs. Very cozy. The best thing though is the location. Truly minutes from Museum Hill/ Canyon Galleries etc. and minutes down the hill to Downtown Plaza. We will certainly be back.

Roybal Ranch is a gated property that is just off of the main road, offering a quiet setting. Come relax in this cozy upstairs space in beautiful Northern New Mexico! Enjoy the mountains, enjoy the scenery! This area has plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, rafting, geocaching, camping, skiing and snowboarding and is just off of the famous High Road toTaos. We are located an hour away from Santa Fe and a scenic 30 minutes from Taos.
There are two bedrooms in this upstairs apartment along with a futon in the living room. Wifi, basic satellite tv, and some board games are provided. Please note there is no kitchen or cooking space, but there is a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig machine available. Upon arriving, you will find a small complimentary goody basket (keurig pods one per person per day, and a combo of candy, chips, granola bars, sodas, ect.)
There are no grocery stores in town. Taos would be the closest area (just to keep in mind if you want certain foods or snacks). We do have a Family Dollar store along with a locally owned general store as well as a few restaurants and gas stations in town. We live in a quiet part of town and a wonderful area for star gazing!

  • This place was wonderful, took a guys weekend trip to go skiing at Sipapu. We arrived right where it said it was. (Google Maps) It’s nice and spacious and when you walk in you feel right at home. There was nice touches like snacks and water, each room as it’s own Keurig, which is nice so early risers don’t disrupt others. I stayed in the bed adjacent to the bathroom, the bed was super comfortable and bedding was nice. This place was great will definitely be staying here again! Thanks Andrew and Justina!

  • Wow! El Burro is absolutely beautiful! The photos of the place sold me on it, but they don't do the house justice. From the moment we stepped in, we were in awe of the cleanliness and thoughtful decor. The whole house was amazing! I also appreciated that Sarah made it clear that she was available if needed, but she let us have our privacy. Definitely recommend staying here if you get the opportunity!

  • The staff I interacted with were all very friendly. There's parking on site which is helpful if you're driving. Close to a lot of stuff- right up the street from Meow Wolf if you're hoping to check that out. Free coffee and food for breakfast if you are interested.

    Mallory2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Santa Fe hostel is the perfect place for anyone needing an economical stopover in, or retreat to, Santa Fe. The private room was just as expected. The requisite chores build solidarity and keep u interacting with the environs in a stimulating way. Whether u have chosen Santa Fe as a place of rest of play, u can be assured this is the best place to stay for the money. In case you haven't heard, Whole Foods donates load and a half of food to this place. In the massive commercial fridge there were like 10 pounds of fresh guacamole, all sorts of fancy nut milk and vegan products, the delicious Siggi's skyr, and tons of fresh veggies, fruits, sandwiches from the ready made department, snacks, just anything rlly. A vast array of spices and cooking utensils in the commercial style kitchen with two professional grade 4 burner gas stoves and ovens and a massive vent fan overhead. Everyone was helpful and kind. I definitely hope to return.

  • Bus stop right outside - bus no 2 goes right to the plaza. On Saturday and Sunday first bus is 830 am. Then every half hour. Better on weekdays. If you call the number on the bus stop sign they will answer and help you! Counter Culture is a restaurant right 3 blocks away. Train stop is close and bus no 2 picks up there and drops you off right across the street from the hostel. $1.00 fare or $2.00 all day.

Rustic, clean and comfortable, offering peaceful solitude (with access to assistance if needed) in a gorgeous setting. We loved walking the vast acreage of the property as well exploring the very nearby Pecos Wilderness and surrounding Gallinas Canyon area. We also thoroughly enjoyed reading on the porch! There’s WI-FI access if you want it. The Denmin cabin provides a wonderful stay for our group of 4. Curtain dividers create adequate privacy in this charming, single room cabin. Kay and Lacey were responsive to our questions before we arrived and checked in on us by phone after our arrival to be sure we had what we needed. We will be back!

  • We had a great time here. We arrived late in the evening, our host Lacey was there to meet us in person, which was really nice of him. The welcome note at the entrance of this rustic charm was touching. Cabin was vey cozy, comfortable, clean and furnished. Cabin was located in a very scenic and serene location, overlooking a meadow with views of Hermit Peak on one side and nice creek on the other side. Lot of positive energy and vibes at this place. We really had a great time staying here. Our 11 and 4 year old boys didn't wanted to leave! We will be back for sure!

  • We absolutely loved our time at Lacey and Kat’s place, the Cabin was rustic charm at its best. We loved the special touch such as our welcome note and welcome snacks on the table. Lacey and Kat were the perfect hosts! This cabin is the perfect secluded get away with wonderful views. We gave up Fourth of July fireworks in the Las Vegas town so that we could spend the evening in the cabin. WiFi was a bonus in planning our day excursions. We will definitely be back!

It is not for the faint of heart - the drive is an off-roaders pleasure (I drive a 4x4 Jeep with big tires and a lift so my car and I were happy as clams) - the solitude is spectacular, the nature delightful and Carla and co are delightful, helpful and respectful. We had crazy mountain weather - super high winds, a mini blizzard, and some clear bright sun during our week - every bit was wonderful!!! Love th cozy cabin and sponge baths by the fire. 😊 If you love the wilderness but like a little shelter, this is your place. We will be back!! Thank you Carla!!!!

  • A beautiful retreat. Great mountain views and tranquil surrounds. 4x4 w high clearance is a good idea

  • If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded mountain get-a-way, this is the place. All the basic essentials are provided in this tiny house and the host will go out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. This is my second time to stay on their ranch. It’s absolutely beautiful and so quiet.

  • Awesome place to stay if you're looking for a quiet place away from everything! Awesome mountain views. Like other people said, the road is rough so be prepared for that.

    Rachel2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The tranquility cabin was perfect for us. The dog loved being able to roam within sight of the cabin. So much solitude and quiet. Be aware the roads are ROUGH!! High clearance needed.

    Julian2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Carla was great. She always responded quickly if we needed something. The farm is amazing. It is so beautiful! Note the roads to it are a bit rough. One can’t be in a hurry. The tiny house that we stayed in is as cute as can be. I would highly recommend this ranch!

    Ronda2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect get away for my wife and I. Carla’s property is beyond beautiful and she is so welcoming and friendly. If you are looking for a true mountain experience, a time to disconnect from the world and connect with your loved ones - you’ve found it. We have previously stayed in Carla's teepee and had such a great time we knew we would be back again and again.

Delightful room in Adobe home 5 min by car from the Plaza and the Opera. Brick floors, high wood ceilings, light filled, use of the kitchen and 2 patios, shared bath with one other room, off street parking. House in pine covered foothills, 30 min to ski area. Sorry, we don't accept pets.
  • Susan and her husband were very much wonderful hosts. They care about their guests and make sure that they are welcomed and familiar with the area. Also, they have such a lovely residence.

    Justin2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • I’d love to call this home my own! Wonderful energy, beautiful visuals indoor and outdoor, and very kind and accompanying hosts. Will definitely book again if I find myself back in Santa Fe.

    Rachel2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • They were very great hosts and their place is superb! Very close to the Plaza in Santa Fe and the community/place feels like a great get away vacation home! Loved it!

  • This is the second time we've traveled to Santa Fe and the 2nd time we've stayed in this home. It is so peaceful and quiet and the house itself is so gorgeous. Airbnb is so unique because you can see so many beautiful places at such a low cost. We will definitely be back if we visit Santa Fe again!

    Jacob2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Super cozy and tucked away from the noise. Close enough to town for whatever you need in Santa Fe. Susan and Steve made great suggestions for in-town dining and nearby hiking. We enjoyed coffee and talking this morning and a lovely pellet stove last night. Great hosts, wonderful space, a pleasure to have met them.

    Ben2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • I love this mountain house so much. The entire house is very beautifully decorated with many Asian pieces. It has great sunlight, quiet and peaceful environment. The host are a very kind and nice couples.

  • Incredible stay. This beautiful house has everything you could want or need for some time away, and is situated right on a peaceful river. Gorgeous views, relaxing atmosphere.

    Mairin2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ah, so nice to hear the Embudo River and step right out onto the deck from the casita. Just 30 minutes from my new favorite restaurant in Penasco called Sugar Nymphs! Gary was a great host! We hope to return again when our time allows.

    Marla2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I knew I was going to like this space but I never imagined how magical it would be. From the interior homey feeling to the spectacular deck over looking the river and that hammock! A walk away to Vivac Winery and a great hiking road, I cannot wait to go back!

    Lisa2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Gary was such a pleasure to speak with and was extremely helpful in helping us find wonderful things to do locally. The house was in pristine condition and very pleasant to stay in. The sound of the river at night was one of the highlights of our stay! Along with Gary's homemade cookies! We would definitely return to the Riverside guest house.

    Jackie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cute house with all that you need for a nice stay. The view from the bed in the morning was amazing and the stars at night were great.

    Martin2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is awesome and being right on the river was so peaceful. Gary was so easy to communicate with and made sure everything was in order and went above and beyond making sure everyone was comfortable. He gave different options on directions in case we wanted to take the scenic route. (You should always take the scenic route!) Looking forward to visiting again!

    Wendy2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Gary is a sweetie. He left a personal touch that was really sweet for us to walk into later. He came over and helped us get the hot tub going when we had a problem. The river and view of the mountains is gorgeous and the hot tub is fantabulous (great showers too.) Rejuvenating to be in nature like that, my sweetie and I luved it.

  • Quick answers, cute place, easy to check in! Nice small little getaway

  • I’m an opera singer who just lived here for two weeks while rehearsing and putting on a performance. It was great! I appreciated how quiet the neighborhood was and how close it is to downtown and lots of restaurants and activities. I don’t think I ever drove more than 10 minutes. These are great hosts, friendly and easy to communicate with. If you’re looking for a place with a view, maybe keep looking, but if you’re looking for a quiet place to crash and a launch point to explore Santa Fe, it’s a wonderful little apartment.

    Ginger2020-03-16T00:00:00Z

Beautiful country setting in historic compound. The guest suite has a private bathroom with a shower and private deck. In-room coffee and tea service. AC to keep you cool in the warm summer months and radiant heat in the winter. Cotton sheets, down comforters. Queen bed & twin sofa sleeper. We enjoy hosting your stay and respect our guests' privacy. As there is a pond on the property, our insurance company does not allow us to host children under the age of 12 years.
Located on the historic Plaza del Cerro dating back to the mid-1700's. Terrific book to read about the old plaza is "Sabino's Map" by Don Usner. The setting is unique and very peaceful. Great location if you want to visit Taos, Bandelier National Monument and Native American Pueblos and a short pretty drive to Santa Fe.
Historic neighborhood. The Santuario de Chimayo is a mile away, best known for its "healing earth" and commands the largest pilgrimage in Northern America during Holy Week. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU STAY ON OUR 4 ACRE HISTORIC PROPERTY, LOCATED IN THE COUNTRY, 24 MILES FROM SANTA FE: · Beautiful views, exquisite sunsets and dramatic evening skies · The occasional egret or duck in the pond · The howls of coyotes at night · Catch sight of a fox or a family of raccoons scampering across the fields · The occasional spider, fly or ant – we do not us “bug spays” or any toxic chemicals on our plants and 35 fruit trees. This is a conscious choice that our many returning guests appreciate · A walk around the 300 year old historic Plaza del Cerro, out our back door · 100% cotton linens and bath towels · Organic soap and shampoos · Organic coffee and teas · Fresh, tasty water from the community water well · Radiant hot water radiators. Will heat the room to a toasty 85 degrees · Outdoor fire pit
  • Jody's East Casita is so cute and comfortable! We came in January but stayed warm the whole time- the place is well heated and insulated! Jody's property is lovely and the location is quiet, but close to the Chimayo attractions. Jody was an accommodating and friendly host. The WiFi signal was weak and inconsistent but other than that expect a comfortable and scenic stay!

    Joe2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • My best friend and I are on a road trip through NM and stayed in the East Casita for 2 nights. Communication with our host was clear and detailed and check in was easy. We loved the many windows in both the room and the bathroom, the radiator that kept us plenty warm, lots of extra blankets, stargazing from our own porch, the beauty of our environment, and saying hello to the kitties, dogs, beetles, spiders, birds and morning walks around the ranch. Great home base to explore the area and surrounding hiking trails. Our host kindly welcomed us to use the fire pit next to the West Casita and provided us with wood and marshmallows - a perfect way to ring in the new year. I would not hesitate to stay here again and grateful to our host for having us.

    Elise2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay.

    Erin2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a special rural space for a getaway near Santa Fe, Los Alamos and other nearby attractions. Everything is as pictured. Easy in and out. Very private. We didn't hear our neighbors in the adjacent casita at all. You will probably want a cooler with ice. The hostess supplied coffee and toiletries and ultrasoft towels. Definitely try to arrive before dark. It is on an unlit narrow road but it is easy to find using host's directions. It is rural and there are mosquitoes, you might want some repellent so you can sit on the porch and enjoy the sunset. P. S. Don't miss Rancho de Chimayo restaurant!

    Kris2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place!

    Amy2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, great gardens! Close to town. Jody is very nice I am not just saying that cause we have the same name!

    Jody2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect! We did not have time to meet Jody. The communication was super. She gave us great tips. The cottage is super comfortable and everything was top clean - we would go back anytime.

    Davide2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jody has a fantastic place to call home during your stay. The casita was clean and cozy and the beds were super comfortable. The advice to get there the first time before dark is good because it is tucked away on a little side road, but once you get there, you will have no problems finding your way around. Also, a good tip that really helped us was to download Google Maps for the area so that you can use them offline. The cell service can be a bit spotty, but that is an easy fix. The casita had great wifi which allowed us to stream shows on our iPads to watch before bed. The patio on the back deck was super sweet and a relaxing haven especially on cool mornings. The provided coffee maker and k-cups were so nice:) Jody kindly offered us to use an ice box, but we brought along our own small cooler which worked great for us. We brought back a fresh bag of ice after our daily adventures and it kept our wine chilled, creamer for our coffee, and some yogurt for breakfast. We especially enjoyed the pets including a variety of very friendly cats and three small dogs. We also saw a very large bullfrog on our front porch one morning! He probably lives in the adorable pond just up from the casita. The property is large with lots of apple trees and a couple of apricot trees and plenty of room to walk around and explore. Although you cannot see the mountains from the house, the drive to and from provides gorgeous vistas and breathtaking views. We also enjoyed eating more than once at the Rancho de Chimayo restaurant which is just a stone's throw from the casita. The food was outstanding and the service was great even when we had no reservation. Jody's place is a steal for the price and is the perfect getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will remember Rancho Manzana if we come to Santa Fe in the future.
