Elstree is a self-contained annexe to a big family house with allocated parking off-road. We welcome pets and kids (although we don’t provide specialist things for infants and teenagers might find it a squash!). It is half a mile walk to the town centre and under a mile walk to the beautiful Scarborough South Bay beach, all theatres and seaside essentials. We’ve priced low so you get a bargain deal! We hope to provide you a home from home cosy space for peace, quiet and rest
The Escape is a 1-bed plus en suite shower with a separate living area — sofa, kitchenette, desk and even your own parking space. You can cosy up and hideaway or get to the beach for fresh air and stunning scenery.
The 'Escape' is on a street of big Victorian villas just walking distance from Scarborough town centre. Most of the villas are still family homes -- if you like architecture you're in for a treat! Within a mile circumference you can get to the SJ Theatre, cinema, town centre shops, South Bay beach and promenade and the Spa Theatre. You can also walk to Peasholm Park and the Open Air Theatre but it is a little further. There is a parade of shops for the basics just around the corner (but we will always make sure you have milk and teabags to arrive to!). There are also lots of nearby cafes and restaurants within a short walk so getting around is very easy.
  • The guest house was so cute. It was very clean and had cute touches to it like blankets, food, and soaps. It was a perfect amount of space. Emma was also great at communicating!

  • This is a fabulous place as a base for exploring Scarborough. Amazing welcome pack, lovely clean space, all you could need and great communication. Many thanks Emma :))

  • We’ve just enjoyed a three night stay at Emma’s place, it was spotlessly clean and within walking distance of the beach and town centre. Thank you for the little treats you left for us they were much appreciated. Hopefully we’ll be back one day.

    Janet2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Emma made sure we had a fantastic break in Scarborough. We were allowed to check in later due to delay with travel and were welcomed with the most glorious welcome basket containing lots of treats and even for my dog. The space is so clean and peaceful and it really is an ‘escape’. Emma is there on hand if you need anything otherwise she leaves you to enjoy your time away and there’s lots to enjoy both inside the Escape and out and about in Scarborough. Lots of options to cook in with microwave and stove. For watching tv there’s full Sky which is a real bonus and the place leaves a lasting, happy impression for both humans and pets alike. Look forward to returning

  • Super easy check in. Great location with a 10 minute walk to the seafront. Well equipped and beautifully clean. The place was stylishly decorated and comfortable. Would highly recommend for couples.

  • Great little place, super location as a nice walk to the seafront. Very clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful hosts. Lovely touches with welcome basket of treats, milk and juice in the fridge! We had a lovely time, thank you!

  • Emma' s place is beautifully decorated, clean and a short walk away from the beach. My children and I had a wonderful time exploring the town, and even more fun indoors playing the board games Emma has left for guests. Would definitely recommend Emma's place.

    Kauthar2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Can highly recommend Emma’s place. It’s an absolutely lovely and stylish space. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay and the thoughtful little treats provided are fab. The location is great too and I walked into town in around 15 mins. Thank you for a lovely stay, I’ll definitely book again if you’ll have me x

  • Great flat with excellent decor. A lot of thought seems to have gone in to it. Well kitted out kitchen. A pint of milk being provided was also a nice touch! Very close-by to loads of things to do. A minor point was the single glazing (fab sash windows though!) meaning noise from it's central location was a slight issue but apart from that I'd highly recommend.

  • Very stylish apartment in a great location! Would definitely stay here again!

    Megan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my partner were overjoyed with this flat. It was stunningly furnished, in an amazing location and Andrew was an amazing host who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The flat was located right in Whitby centre and was a short walk from lovely restaurants, bars, and about a 3/4 minute walk to the beach. The bed was super comfy and the bath was a lovely touch. We recommend this flat very highly, and will definitely be returning!

    Joslin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Angel view was amazing! The location is excellent and very central. The apartment is stylist and homely and we loved it so much we wanted to move in! It is perfect for couples wanting a romantic getaway. The roll bath in the bedroom is a lovely touch. The bed was really comfy and king size which is a must for us. All the amenities in the apartment were spot on with everything there you would need. Highly recommended - we will be back again soon!

Located in the town centre and very close to the harbour and abbey, Bumble Bee Studio is warm, comfortable and cosy. There is a kitchenette (with kettle, toaster, grill, microwave, sink and small fridge) and an en suite shower room. I can almost always offer a parking place directly outside the property or close by (the town's big events may be the exception). The studio is a perfect base for singles or couples who wish to explore this beautiful coastline. Limited head height (6' 4'').
Whitby is a unique and immensely popular seaside town, famed for its sea-faring heritage, Whitby jet, Dracula, the Goth movement and, of course, its spectacular coastline. Just 5 miles south is the famed village of Robin Hood's Bay and the austere beauty of the North York Moors is just 3 miles to the west. The town itself is home to some excellent restaurants and cafes. Seafood is, of course, a speciality.
  • Great location. Good communication from Julie . Would definitely recommend a visit

    Nikki2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, perfect location for exploring the town!

  • lovely room in a lovely place! Juliet is kind and helpful.

    Suzanne2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place in Whitby. This was our second stay at Julie's apartment and we hope to be back again soon. 2 minutes walk to the centre of town, yet really quiet. A super comfy bed with lovely bedding. Kitchen - and a free parking space - what more could you need!

    Lindsay2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely few days at Bumble Bee studio. Sorry we had to cut short our stay due to bad weather. The studio was spotlessly clean warm and comfortable with extra touches such as DVD’s books and games. Parking outside of the property was an added bonus which can be difficult in Whitby. Thank you Julie for a lovely stay. Will certainly stay again and recommend you to friends.

    David2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is an excellent property. Location is fantastic and in the town centre. Couldn't hope for more.

    Stephen2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Julie’s studio, it was cosy and homely, spotlessly clean, a really comfortable bed and beautiful linen supplied. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, even milk and biscuits. I would highly recommend and stay again.

This self contained holiday cottage offers a chance to get closer to the workings of a family dairy farm. It is situated in the North York Moors National Park, midway between the moors and the coast and just a fifteen minute drive (or slightly longer bus ride) from Whitby. The accomodation is unusually spacious for a one bedroomed cottage, it is light, warm and very well insulated but don’t forget there is the potential for noise and smells from the farm!
This holiday home is a one bedroomed cottage on our working dairy farm. We are on the North Yorkshire Moors, only five miles to Staithes and the coast and ten miles to Whitby. The self contained accomodation is all on the ground floor. The very large living area has a kitchen in the corner with a fridge and freezer, breakfast bar and table. There is a seating area with a television and DVD player. There is one bedroom with a double bed. The cottage has its own front door and you can park just outside. The cottage has a small back garden with open views of the countryside. We live next door and are generally available to assist in the unlikely event that any problems arise. Our farmhouse is a Grade II listed building and it was built before 1750. The attached cottage is in the former cow byre and it retains the original beams. It was fully renovated in 2012 and has the benefit of double glazing and underfloor heating. The farm and buildings are quite ‘green’. We have two ground source heat pumps and much of the electricity we use is generated on the farm by solar panels and a wind turbine.
The farm is in a small hamlet with about a dozen houses. A footpath runs through the farmyard and it is possible to walk down to the coast and up onto the moors from the house. There is a garage and a tea room in the hamlet. Unfortunately at the moment our village pub is closed for refurbishment so is only operating as a tea room. However other pubs are available in neighbouring villages. We are ten miles from Whitby and five miles from Staithes. The National Park Centre at Danby is also five miles away. This is a great place to learn about the history, geography and wildlife of the local area.
  • Wonderful place to stay, great location. Cottage had everything you needed and very clean. Loved it

    Gerard2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We lived our time here. It is a very spacious and comfortable space, it had everything we could need, and the folder with local tips was very useful. We want to come back already!

  • We had a truly wonderful & relaxing few days stay. This was our 2nd visit to this charming cozy cottage & we cannot thank Barbara enough for her help, tips & hospitality.

    Peter2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A great location within easy distance of Whitby. The accommodation is warm, spacious and very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the wood-burning stove. Our first trip away since becoming parents and we couldn’t be happier. The hosts were very accommodating and were even able to provide a play-mat for our 4 month old.

    Daniel2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, clean, warm and cosy. Great views and and fantastic location

    Lou2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying here for 3 nights. The cottage is spacious, warm and comfortable, and in a good spot for exploring the moors and the coast. Barbara also gave us a little tour of the farm which was very interesting!

    Lucy2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous cottage! We absolutely loved staying here. The cottage itself is warm, cosy and clean, and the location is perfect for exploring the North York Moors. Barbara provides a lot of useful information about the surrounding area. Scaling Dam is a short walk away, which has a circular route to run or walk around. We loved exploring the area by day and returning to Barbara's cosy cottage in the evening to cook and relax. Highly recommended!

    Vedrana2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful, very comfortable, everything needed was provided.Barbara was very helpful. Great area for walking biking and anything to do with this beautiful coast with Staithes Runswick Bay on door step. Highly recommend

18th century cottage in Scarborough. Centrally located, being less than a mile from Scarborough Railway Station and town centre. Beautifully appointed to a very high standard, with quality fittings and furnishings. During these uncertain times we are taking extra precautions to block a day at either side of all bookings. This will allow us time to deep clean and keep us all that bit safer!
Lounge/dining area, which includes 40" T.V, with built-in DVD player. Amazon Echo music system. Fully equipped kitchen, incorporating small fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and microwave. Full bathroom, with bath having shower and T.V, adding a little bit of luxury! Bedroom, with double bed, triple wardrobe and wall-mounted T.V. The bedroom is open-plan, so the cottage is ideally suited to a couple. This charming cottage has the great advantage of having a small raised garden, which is perfect for enjoying outside eating and drinking, and it catches the sun all day, ( if it is out of course!) The fabulous log burner is the centre-piece of this home, making it a wonderful, warm and cosy place for a short break away!
Shrove Cottage is on the edge of Falsgrave, which is approximately half a mile from Scarborough Railway Station. There is a news agent/convenience store just a few yards away and there are many more shops close by; including a butchers, bakery, green grocer and pharmacy. There is also a Sainsbury Superstore/Petrol Station in Falsgrave. There are some great traditional pubs, which often host local bands, serving real ales and tasty food. The cottage is located on an A road, which can get busy.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Shrove Cottage! Judith was able to have the cottage ready for us an hour early which was really handy! The cottage is perfect for 2 people, cosy and comfortable. Milk, orange juice, and bread was left for us which was very nice! The cottage was only a 20/25 minute walk to the beach which was a nice easy walk and we had no problems parking outside the property. Would definitely recommend this place and will probably come back in the future!

    Heather2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Booked Judith’s cottage as a trip away for my parents. They both loved it. The cottage was beautiful and spotlessly clean and in a great location (walking distance to Scarborough front). Would love to book again for myself

    Elisha2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for letting us stay in your fantastic little cottage. Was the perfect home from home to sight see a beautiful part of the country ❤️

    Jamie2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cottage with everything you need, in a great location.

    Karen2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do not do Shrove cottage justice! This place was the perfect little getaway cottage. The hosts have done so well at making the most of the space and have decorated the cottage beautifully. I will definitely be back as soon as I can!

    Amy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time booking through Air bnb and I think this will be the yardstick we measure all future bookings with. From the start, Judiths communication was excellent as was the property information we were given in advance. On arrival to this stunning cottage, we were met with such thoughtful little touches such as bread and milk, robes to wear, candles for the outdoor area and many more that it instantly felt like a wonderful and cosy place to be. It’s the perfect size for a couple, has everything you need and is located in a nice area that’s not too near the bustle of the sea front. I fell in love with it instantly and we would love to return one day. It’s cosy, clean and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Thank you Judith for making our stay so memorable.

    Gillian2020-02-26T00:00:00Z

  • Great location in a small village and in easy driving distance of many places. It was warm and clean.

    Saffron2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful barn conversion for a quiet getaway with lovely walks and very close to the coast. Bob was kind enough to prepare the area early for an earlier check in for us due to previous guests leaving early. Lots of lovely touches added such as maps for a walk along the coast and to Hayburne Wyke pub, little chocolates and board games (Scrabble and jigsaws).

    Lucia2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The space was lovely, well thought-out and bigger than expected. The location was absolutely perfect and just the right combination of remote but also close to pubs and shops. I recommend the Blacksmiths Arms in Cloughton itself and alongside the walk to Hyburn Wyke, there is a great walk a half hour drive away at Saltergate too.

    Maddy2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts are helpful, friendly and lovely - without being intrusive. Perfect mix - they even helped us in with our luggage. The accommodation is exactly as described, and comfortable. We stayed over Christmas and they even put a Christmas tree up for us, and lights. Delightful!

    Sue2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely flat, very cosy and pretty.

    Madeline2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn was such a great place to stay for a nice, quiet getaway. The loft itself was ideal, just the right amount of space, and it had everything we needed. The space was snug and homely, we didn’t want to leave! The location was also ideal, being only a few minutes away from the Cleveland Way, and an easy drive to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes. We would definitely like to come back, potentially next summer! We would recommend this place to anyone either on their own or a couple for a nice break.

The space is a reclaimed game larder dating from the late 1800's which has been lovingly restored and repurposed into a cosy and comfortable chalet. There are two beds, one upstairs in the loft and the other a sofa bed which folds out downstairs. There is a kitchen block complete with cups, plates, glasses etc. as well as a wood burning stove, mini fridge and television. The toilets and showers are a short walk away and are shared with the adjoining campsite.
The Game Larder was bought for the local shooting estate around the turn of the 20th century by Sir Francis Ley. Made of cedar wood and manufactured by the firm Boulton and Paul, the building spent most of the last century forgotten and unused in the woods until it was relocated a mile up the road and turned into something altogether different! We set the Game Larder facing down the Esk Valley and directly across from Danby beacon. The views are fantastic and the sunsets can be truly spectacular. The decking outside provides the perfect viewing platform to enjoy the scenery. We provide a small fridge, electric cooking hob, kettle, utensils, and a toaster, there is also a large fridge and freezer in the shower building. The bed is upstairs in the loft area but there is also the option for a sofa bed downstairs instead. The extra charge is for bedding and towels but you are more than welcome to bring your own sleeping bag, pillows and duvet instead. There is a TV/DVD player, as well as books, games and dvds. Lawnsgate Farm is a traditional sheep and cattle hill farm and there is also a small campsite opposite. We have Scottish blackface sheep and Galloway and shorthorn cows. We also have three bulls which are kept up in the shed during winter. The toilets and showers are in a converted building 20 metres away and are shared with the campsite. There are also washing up facilities, washer/dryer, and a freezer.
We are very lucky to live in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and be only a 20 minute walk away from the pretty village of Lealholm. The village boasts many amenities including a good pub, great shop, post office, garden centre and tea rooms. Towards Danby is the National Parks Moors Centre which is a must for anyone wanting to get acquainted with the area. There is also a bike hire place and cafe in the valley of Fryup which the Game Larder looks over. The area is amazing for walking and I am happy to help you out with any questions or suggestions for nearby walks. Further afield is Whitby which is about a 20 minute drive away. There are many traditional moorland villages to explore all within a 30 minute drive including Rosedale, Goathland, Farndale, and Grosmont. The beautiful fishing villages of Staithes and Robin Hoods Bay are also well worth a visit.
  • Amazing place, easy to travel too. Aidan is a fantastic host, really helpful with quick response. The area is really pretty. We went during lambing season. It was a cuteness overload. The cabin itself is real cozy, comfortable and warm with real nice touches throughout. Aidan has a couple amazing cats, really friendly and the back cat with white socks loved to spend time with us, warming up in front the log fire. There’s a small community pub with an open fire and good food. We really really enjoyed our time here and it was tough to leave in the end. If you want a weekend away to get way from it all, this is the place to go! I couldn’t recommend it more.

  • The Game Larder is a gorgeous, tiny home made very cosy by its log fire. We had a gorgeous 1 night stay here to unwind from work. It is a perfect break for couples and we couldn’t recommend it more! Thank you Aidan for a lovely stay, and for being a super relaxed host. We will be back!

    Beverley2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cosy game larder is a great little get away for anyone who wants away from busy life to take in the views and peacefulness. It’s so cosy containing a lovely log burner. It has all you need there for your stay. Aidan and Ella are lovely and leave you to enjoy your stay but are around if you need anything.

    Kirsty2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location, Aidan is welcoming and took us to meet the animals even though he was so busy calving. Log Burner was hot once going and fab to have with a snow storm! Visited Board Inn in Village - book as it’s busy and food is fantastic especially Sunday Lunch.

  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely 2 night stay at Aidan’s farm. The little lodge was stocked with everything you could need, it was super cosy and the log fire warmed it up nicely. We were there during Storm Dennis and felt secure and warm, it was great being on the moors during the storm with the winds hammering by. Aidan was kind enough to show us the Lamas, sheep and introduced the cats. Being animals lovers we were more than happy for one of them to join us for cuddles in the lodge. There are some great little pubs near by, we ate at a pub in Castleton which was amazing. We would definitely stay here again, Aidan was a super friendly host and provided us with some fresh eggs from his hens, bonus!

    Jenny2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quirky little place, the fire was a life saver and a nice cosy tough

    Joe2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cracking place in a great location, we were allowed to make ourselves at home from arrival and get on with our stay. Aidan was great checking in on us to make sure were sorted. Location was exactly what you would want. Rural and quiet, a good escape. Plenty of villages are in driving distance with Whitby and the coast 20 minutes away The hut is a cosy place with a great interior. Homely and warm. Once the wood burning stove is away it's the perfect place to relax. Kitchen block is stocked well and the sleeping arrangements are well though out and comfortable All in all a amazing experience, would highly recommend and will definitely be back again and for longer next time !

Henrietta street is in the cobbled streets of old whitby, really central for the shops, pubs and cafe's - but there is no public parking. Our road is very quiet, and on arrival you should have no problem parking up to unload. We usually unload bags - and I drive to park and walk 5 - 10 mins back to the cottage. Depending on where you want to park - we always find free parking a short walk away, but you can pay to park nearer, or use the park and ride car parks in the summer. Whitby Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. For a different day out, why not climb the famous 199 steps to reach the ruins of Whitby Abbey. It's said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stokers Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch. There's always something happening throughout the town, and festivals and fairs are held throughout the year including Whitby Goth Festival, Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta.
  • Excellent location in Whitby. We parked at the Abbey as it was close enough. Cottage was spotless. Malteassers where appreciated.

  • A really lovely house - modern and well equipped. We had a phonecall on the day to discuss check in.

  • A cosy cottage kitted out to a very high standard. Handy location for Staithes, Whitby, Saltburn and the North York Moors railway and good network of paths from the cottage. Be aware that the road is a bit rough and parking fairly tight. The bathrooms are cosy but you do have 2. The view of Boulby Mine was a surprise, but other directions have lovely views. Overall, we loved it.

Very small tiny little 1 Bedroom cottage in the heart of Yorkshire moors, with many original features . Comfortably sleeps two. Perfect for a little getaway with no phone internet or television. Pub over the road, lots of walks and activities in the Moors National Park. Seventeen miles to Whitby and the coast. Please note the cottage is very small the living room is 2.75mX 3.4m with a kitchen 2mX1.14m. Bedroom is 2.8mX 2.65m. Please note ceiling height to beams in bedroom is 1.88m.
The cottage is 260 years old and still has many of the original features including; stone floors, beamed ceilings, wooden spiral staircase and bare sandstone walls. This is not a holiday cottage it is my home when I am in the UK is very quirky so it lacks some of the standard holiday cottage features, their is no microwave, shower, internet or television. The kitchen is tiny but well equipped to cook basic meals. The cottage is tiny, possibly the smallest on Airbnb. The stairs are very narrow and steep, because of this the cottage is not really suitable for people with limited mobility, the elderly or couples with a baby or children. It is a perfect base for couples with a sense of adventure and a young outlook wanting to explore the moors and escape technology. Please note because of the small size we cannot accommodate children or pets.
Castleton is a beautiful village in the Esk Valley, it is in the centre of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. 20 minutes in the car or 40 on the train will get you to Whitby and all of the delights it has to offer. Fish and chips, the seaside, shopping etc. Drive a bit further and you can come to Scarborough or York.
  • This cottage is tiny, but it had everything one would need to enjoy a short stay in the North York Moors. The heating unit on the first floor made the space super cozy, especially when you're surrounded by shelves and shelves of books! And the small kitchen has the basics you would need to cook anything you may buy from the Co-op that's only a few doors down from the cottage. Parking in town is pretty easy as long as you have a small enough car. Even with our larger Nissan vehicle, we were able to find a place late at night. The bed is extremely comfortable, especially with the heating pad turned on. The bath water also warmed quickly, and the windows on both floors provided extremely pleasing light during the morning and afternoon. Everything about this place is a relaxing and quiet getaway. And our walk down the block to the tea room in the morning was very cool too! So many kind people in this town and across all the towns in the Moors. You can't pass up the opportunity to stay in this historic house (around 200 years old!). And the booklet that James provides on the history of the cottage and the town is very good too! It really helped me appreciate our short stay even more.

    Gabbi2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • James' father was welcoming, flexible and accommodating of our requests. The cottage was cosy, clean and completely perfect - just what we needed and wanted! We only wish we could have stayed longer. We were so impressed and will definitely return again. We will be recommending the cottage to everyone!

    Sophie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • James's place was beautiful and we throughly enjoyed our stay there. There was plenty of information about the area and the cottage itself, we found it very cozy and a pleasure to stay in. We will most certainly be back! Thanks Jemma and Mike

  • This was my second time staying in James's lovely cottage - a perfect place in a friendly village with both wild and picturesque surroundings to explore.

    Elspeth2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • James’ “tiny cottage” is absolutely perfect for a base to explore Castleton and the Moors. But for anybody who loves social history it’s even more of a gem! Despite its size it has everything you need (except WiFi and phone signal- but not a problem for us) and a great pub on the doorstep. Clean, cute and cosy, plus James’ dad was incredibly helpful and informative when we arrived. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much ⭐️

    Rachel2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant little cottage from bygone era. You can really get the sense of life throughout the past two and a half centuries and little it changed up until quite recently. Great little taster for any 'Tiny house' enthusiasts.

Pheasant's Roost is surprisingly spacious, very clean, and private shepherds hut with wood-fired hot tub - perfect for romantic breaks. All year round use - with electric heating and log burner. En-suite shower room. Set in a small paddock with bbq, patio and table. Amazing farmland views. Up to 2 dogs are welcome. Walking distance to 2 good pubs serving food plus local shops. Great base for touring York, East Coast and North Yorkshire Moors. Market town of Malton 5 miles away. Lots of walks.
Pheasants Roost is an en-suite shepherds hut set in beautiful countryside, perfect for a peaceful relaxing stay. We also have Rose Cottage on site - holiday accommodation with 2 bedroom sleeping 4. Jacuzzi style hot tub, and dogs also welcome. Both properties can be booked together. The owners also live on site and are usually available.
Thorpe Bassett is a peaceful village location, yet only 1/2 mile from A64 (the main road between York and Scarborough). There is no street lighting, there are lots of local lanes to explore, and the Yorkshire Wolds Way national trail runs less than a mile from our house.
  • I had high expectations of the Shepard’s hut from reading reviews from previous guests and I was not disappointed. The shepherds hut was very clean and easy to find, the hut is in a perfect location to get to nearby beaches and the moors and has a lovely pub around the corner. Pauline was very helpful during our stay when we needed some help getting the hot tub up to temperature. Would definitely like to return at some point in the future :)

A quaint family and pet friendly little village by the sea. It is steeped in history and won The Times beach of the year 2018.
  • Tom’s place is just absolutely lovely - we booked this as a Christmas present just to get away as a family for a few days and it was more than what we hoped for. The place had everything we needed, easy to find, just a short walk from the beach. If we venture back up towards Filey we would definitely go back to the Secret of Eden Beach House ☺️☺️

  • AMAZING place!!!! i'd highly recommend for a quick getaway with friends or significant other. The place was sparkling clean, the bed sheets smelled amazing, literally not a single mistake. We loved our stay here, we rlly hope we can visit again.

    Jes2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had the loveliest stay at the Secret of Eden beach house situated in the premier holiday village ‘The Bay’, it was our first getaway as a newly married couple and we took our Labrador with us. The beach house was beautifully decorated and the attention to detail was second to none. The little touches were also lovely, the branded toiletries, board games, Xbox, access to Netflix and more! The beach was a short walk away and we loved it as did the dog. On our last day we even saw a baby seal! We’d also like to say a huge thank you for the bottle of bubbly left in the fridge for us as Tom & Melissa knew we’d got married at the weekend before travelling up from Devon. We’d recommend the Secret of Eden to anyone! Thanks again!

The cottage is situated on the Cleveland Way so great for walking along the coast with spectacular views ... you can walk all the way or just parts of ie to Whitby / Saltburn / Runswick etc. Only 11 miles from Whitby.
  • Where do I start.....stunning setting with sea views, great communication with caroline & her hospitality was second to none. The cottage was immaculate & I loved the decor. All the little extras such as dog treats, home made cakes, breakfast items, milk, fresh flowers & so much more. Caroline & john are fantastic hosts & were on hand if required. The way the cottage is situated from the main house allows you to feel completely separate & private. Enclosed court yard area ensured our dog couldn't escape. Fantastically placed to explore the Cleveland way we visited staithes every day, walked to saltburn & caught the bus back the walked to Runswick bay on another day. We only used the car once to visit whitby. Great recommendations from caroline. Even though the wind whipped up you felt snug in the cottage. The hot tub was fab & we also used the games room which is a great extra. Overall our stay was very relaxing & romantic. Everything you need & more. Thank you caroline & john.

    Lisa2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage decor is tasteful and very homey. Caroline goes to great lengths to ensure you (and your dogs) feel most welcome. Welcome box with goodies is divine. Dog blankets are even provided! The hot tub is just amazing after a day out walking along the coast near Staithes and Runswick Bay. So many walks with the Cleveland Way just outside the door. And, should the weather not suit, there is a warm fire to cozy up with Netflix or a good book. Good restaurants and pubs also nearby.

  • I can’t express enough how amazing this cottage is, from the moment of booking Caroline is a super host, nothing was too much trouble. On arriving Caroline gave us a tour of the cottage and showed us everything we needed. The cottage is stunning and you couldn’t wish for more, the hot tub is such a bonus along with the views out to sea. The cottage is very private and you can choose how much interactions you have with Caroline and her family. The touches of homemade cake, jam and cookies very much appreciated. This was our first full week booking with air b n b and am so glad we chose such a high standard cottage. Book here and you will not be disappointed at all 😊

  • This is an absolutely super place to stay and should not be missed. Caroline is a brilliant host and you will not be disappointed.

  • Wow, where to start?! We couldn’t have asked for a more exceptional place to get away from the stresses of life. From the warm welcome from Caroline with homemade cakes, cookies and fresh flowers to the comfort and small touches throughout! Very doggy friendly with a spacious and secure outdoor area (complete with dog shower!) but still felt like we were in 5* luxury. Super comfy bed and really cosy living space. The bathroom is excellent, loved the massive bath and shower and underfloor heating! The hot tub was a great extra to relax with a drink in the evening after a long day of beautiful beach walks. Beautiful coastal path runs right outside the front door. We couldn’t think of anything to improve our stay and will definitely look to return soon!!

  • From start to finish caroline was amazing! Communication was spot on and caroline even takes the time to give you a detailed local information pack of things to do and places to see even little areas that only locals would know about. The cottage itself is absolutely amazing and clean sporting a private garden area for you and dogs if you take them. The hot tub was a fantastic touch and many nights were spent relaxing after a days walking around the local area thanks again so much for a lovely stay

    Paul2019-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended. A lovely cottage, very private with everything you could possibly need. A great hot tub which we used daily and lovely views out to sea and down towards Staithes. Caroline was a great host, met us on arrival and was available if we needed her, although we didn't because everything was perfect, we will return.

    Ian2019-03-18T00:00:00Z

  • Fantastic, exactly what we needed!! Great location, the property is lovely!

    Mark2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The hut was just as described, quaint and cosy with all amenities that you needed. John was a pleasure to deal with, showing us how the fire and hot work whilst advising on the local eateries.

    Tina2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice little stay. John was very welcoming and helped us get set up just fine. The fire was really warm and kept the whole place toasty, though maintaining the right temperature was a little bit tricky (probably says more about our fire starting). He was a bit slow with texts so best to give him a bell if anything goes wrong. On the whole good value and well worth the visit.

    Tommy2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing for the price! It’s so relaxing and in such a nice place. Everything you expect from it is what you get. The hot tub was nice and clean and had a gazebo to protect us from the rain, was a bit windy which kept blowing the gazebo over but can’t be helped! The hut was so warm with the fire which was lit for when we got there and the pub at the end of the garden is lovely. Good price for amazing home cooked food! Only down point was that I wish we could stay for longer!! Definitely booking again some time soon, was a relaxing break that we needed!

    Keeley2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy hut, had the fire on ready for when we got there so was lovely and warm; hut was bigger than expected, very clean and a minutes walk to a lovely local pub. John was great and very friendly!

In the beautiful North York Moors National Park, just a mile and a half from Grosmont, terminus for the heritage railway and 5 miles from Whitby, Partridge Nest Cottage was converted from a traditional sandstone farm building in 2000. We have recently renovated it, opening up the ground floor, adding a log burner, new kitchen and a stripped wooden floor. We have also added a large walled private south facing patio with an uninterrupted view up the valley side to the moor top.
Experience England’s history and nature ‘in a nutshell’ in the North York Moors National Park – where peace and beauty rub shoulders with a rich heritage and a warm welcome. The National Park is one of Britain’s treasured places, established in 1952 to protect 554 square miles of magical moorland, ancient woodland, secluded dales, historic sites and a stunning Jurassic Age coastline. From rolling panoramas and big skies to enchanting forests and idyllic dales, there’s a sense of peace and tranquillity here that’s hard to beat – and all just 20 miles or so north of York.
  • Partridge Nest Farm was sparkling clean with lovely decor - everything felt so clean and high quality. We enjoyed looking at the photographs of old Whitby around the cottage. The kitchen was well-equipped and the downstairs bathroom was ideal for our two little girls. We were made to feel so welcome by Caroline and some lovely treats left for us and our dog when we arrived. Thank you.

    Gemma2020-01-20T00:00:00Z

  • A pretty cottage in a glorious setting. Caroline and Gavin have worked hard to produce the best of both worlds: a fabulous rural retreat with mod cons! The kitchen and bathroom are recently upgraded, the beds are super comfortable and the patio is wonderfully peaceful. Everywhere is super clean and the treats ( for both humans abundant dog) were much appreciated. The location, close to the start of the North York Moors Railway, and within easy reach of the coast, was great, with wonderful scenery and lots of great walks. We will be back!

    Sue2019-09-30T00:00:00Z

If you are interested in booking more than 3 nights, then please contact me to see if we can organise a special offer. We often have space of 5 nights from Sunday to Friday or 4 nights midweek - or how about a longer weekend? N.B. The Chalet is in a large, open courtyard area. Our house is in the same courtyard, where we also park.
Robin Hood’s Bay is a delightful and unspoilt village on the North Yorkshire coast, just 6 miles south of Whitby, with pantiled cottages tumbling down the hillside towards the North Sea. The narrow winding streets and quaint cobbled pathways conceal many beautiful properties, some of which date back to the early 15th century. It is a perfect year round holiday location, ideal for long weekends, short breaks in all seasons, summer holidays – or to stay at the end of the ‘Coast to Coast’ walk / bike ride. Little has changed in ‘The Bay’ since the last century, with a history involving pirates, smugglers and press gangs. It is first mentioned in 1538 as a “fisher townlet of twenty boats” and fishing was the main livelihood here until the end of the 19th century. At its peak, Robin Hoods Bay's importance as a fishing centre surpassed that of Whitby! Despite the decline of the once thriving fishing industry you may still see local fishermen working on their nets and lobster pots before putting their boats out to sea. The village is one of the most picturesque and charming fishing villages on the North Yorkshire 'Heritage Coast'. Located in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, it is the ideal place for just relaxing and also exploring this beautiful and historic area – a delightful mix of sand, sea, rockpools, coast, cliffs, moors, woodland and pretty villages. There are many things to see and do right in the village – as well as so much in the area. You could park your car (if you bring one) and just walk or cycle… or drive to the stunning North York Moors, visit Whitby or the many other beautiful coastal and inland villages, like Sandsend, Staithes, Runswick, Grosmont, Goathland, Rosedale, Danby, Lealholm and Egton – to name just a few…. There is a regular local bus service (Arriva X93), as well as the beautiful North York Moors Railway, which runs a mix of steam and diesel trains right into Whitby. Scarborough and Whitby are the nearest train stations. Both have a bus service to Robin Hood’s Bay. There is something to do in the area to suit all tastes and ages, including walking, rock pooling, fishing, horse riding, listening to live music, shopping, eating out and visiting ancient monuments like Whitby Abbey. Robin Hood's Bay has lots of great eating and drinking places, from pubs and cafes to bistros and 2 fish and chip shops, plus a range of gift shops. There are 3, licensed local stores selling all you'd need to cook a meal, one just about 8 minutes from The Chalet. If that sounds too busy – it isn’t…. The village has a brilliant website for information on events, things to do, photo gallery, attractions, shopping, eating etc… See www.robin-hoods-bay.co.uk You can also buy the local monthly ‘Bayfair’ magazine for local news and Tide Times www.bayfair.co.uk
  • Just returned from a three night stay in the chalet and already want to go back! Cosy is the definition if the chalet and it is equipped with everything you'd need. Jean is a fantastic host and has made the chalet a wonderful place to stay. We hope to come back and stay again in the future and would definitely recommend staying there if you want to visit Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby!

  • Great place to stay just outside the centre of Robin Hoods bay (5 min walk). The place is really warm, clean and a fun stay for up to two people. We ate at the Fylingdales inn which is about a 10 min walk away which offered good vegetarian and vegan options as well as the usual pub type food. Jean is a great host with superb communications and is very attentive and friendly. When finding the chalet watch carefully for the driveway entrance or you may miss it first time around.

    Nicholas2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at The Chalet. It is in a great location, minutes away from robin hoods bay and all the local walks. Jean the host was more than happy to help with any questions we had. Whenever I messaged her privately before and during our stay she was quick to answer and very helpful. I would highly recommend staying at the chalet.

  • Such a lovely place with perfect access to Robin Hood’s Bay and the surrounding areas. Great amenities with thoughtful touches. A cosy, warm and romantic set up.

    Finlay2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This Chalet is a perfect and cost effective way to stay in luxury and style whilst visiting the wonderful seaside village of Robin Hood's Bay as well as iconic North York Moors. Jean provides a very clean, warm and stylish property, with plenty of useful amenities and thoughtful touches, a mire 10minute walk from the coast, shops and the village centre. There is also secure private parking if you fancy taking day trips to other places. Jean is also a very helpful host and provided me tons of local tips on everything from what to do in the bay, the best shops and pubs to visit and even the perfect spot to see some seals. I will definitely be staying there again on my next adventure to Robin Hood's Bay and the Moors.

The apartment is situated on the cliff top of North Bay, with a lovely sea view. A 20 second walk brings you to the cliff top benches where you can sit and take in the stunning view of the bay and the castle. We are a 5min walk from the beach and 10min to the town centre. It’s on the ground floor of our 5 storey Victorian terrace family home. It is separate from the rest of the house so you’ll have full privacy. There’s plenty of space and the location is amazing!
Our apartment has a large living room/dining room, a double bedroom, bathroom/wet room and a full kitchen. There’s a smart TV with Sky Q and access to Sky cinema. We are 5mins walk from the beach, 10mins from Scarborough town centre, 10mins from the cricket club, 5mins from the castle, 15mins from the train station and the SJT theatre. We are also 10-15mins from all the North Bay attractions, Peasholm Park and the open air theatre. We are also within easy walking distance of South Bay. The location and the views are quite remarkable.

Glenhowen (the Old Chapel is the area! ), a unique cottage in a magical place, was built in the mid 18th century, a vibrant period when the Bay was a busy smuggling community. Full of character and tucked away in a quiet street, Glenhowen is minutes from the beach and the facilities of the village: cafes, restaurants and shops. Cosy enough for a couple yet with beds for a small family or group, Glenhowen, is a space to make your own. And we are dog friendly too (£10 charge per dog).
A Grade 2 listed building, Glenhowen was brought tastefully into modern times, without losing its original features and charm by the artist Lynne Wixon (see www.wixon.co.uk), and her paintings, including several originals, adorn the walls. We bought the cottage from Lynne in 2017. We loved the coastal feel of the décor and her use of space and colour and have recently redecorated earlier this year in a similar style. I am a yoga and cooking teacher (see www.yogandspice.com), Mark is a mountain leader, and we are both keen walkers so Glenhowen provides us, and our two dogs Rosie and Buster, with both a peaceful bolt hole and a base for activities. You have the whole cottage - a true home from home. Glenhowen has a traditional feel but with lots of modern conveniences including a Smart TV. The wi-fi is excellent. The cottage is small and cosy enough for a couple to enjoy, yet with three bedrooms it also offers flexible accommodation for groups of friends or a family with older children wanting their own space. (Please note that, while we welcome children the stairs are steep so young people need to be supervised) Amenities: Cookware Kitchen Utensils, 2 x double beds, single bed, Smart TV, DVD player, second TV for DVDs in bedroom, gas oven, fridge, small freezer, washing machine, 2 x hairdryers, sofa, chair, dining table and chairs, separate entry, bathroom with shower and bath, Beds made, towels, ironing board, toilet paper, soap, small welcome pack of tea coffee milk butter bread and spreads.
Robin's Hoods Bay is magical and steeped in history. Glenhowen is right in the heart of the village near to a variety of pubs, tearooms and restaurants, but in a quiet pedestrian street.
  • Lovely accomodation. Very clean with nice personal touches. Well maintained. Bedroom space fine for 5 but small living/kitchen area for 5. Fine for 4 people and small dog.

    Russell2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a charming cottage in an ideal location at the bottom of Robin Hood’s Bay. I wanted to quit my job and move into that cottage forever.

    Melissa2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great place to stay, I want to book again! My children didn’t want to leave. Great host, cosy house with everything you could need. Brilliant!

  • Lorraine was really quick to respond to messages, the house is in a great spot and was really cosy.

    Laura2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a warm welcome from Lorraine online, followed by a lovely welcome pack at the cottage when you arrive. The cottage is beautiful, well designed, comfortable and immaculate throughout. It is a stone's throw from the beach which was great for my doggies, and you pass a pub to get there which was great for me!. There's a cosy wood burner, a smart tv with netflix, books, maps and amazingly comfortable beds. There's also a bath as well as shower to ease the aching muscles after walking up the hill out of the village!

    Ellen2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at the cottage. The extra touches were lovely and welcomed. Very fast communication and the cottage is beautiful. We stayed for three nights and were sad to leave. The property is tastefully decorated, the beds comfy and the log burner delightful. Location is fantastic and local information was available too.

    Sarah2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Glenhowen cottage was lovely, in an excellent location. Not far from the beach and bars, perfect for dogs. The cottage has everything you need. We would definitely return again.

    Lisa2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic little hideaway just off the sea wall, close enough to everything you could want but still private. We stayed over Christmas week and, even when the sea winds got chilly, the fire box meant we never needed the heating on - its a cosy place to retreat to after a beachside walk. Wander along the beach to Boggle Hole, then climb the cliffs to get back - it works off the mince pies. A great week and we'd love to come back an explore again in summer.

  • This was a lovely place to stay! Very convenient: 10 minutes walk from the station, 15 from the castle, 5 from the beach. We found a parking spot less than a minute away, and a permit was provided. The high chair was good, and can be folded away easily. We spotted that there were buckets and spades and boardgames too, which is thoughtful. The small flat is very well set up, with space for 4 to sleep, a proper bath and a fully equipped little kitchen. We would certainly come again!

  • I would highly recommend The Rise for anyone staying in Scarborough, especially great place for families. We stayed recently with our 2 & 4 year old and they had a great time. The highlight was the bunk beds with their own light.. my 4yr old said the house was better than Flamingo Land! Place was spotless with everything we needed and Janice was a lovely host, great communication and met us when we arrived and helped get us settled. Top find x

A great place to stay at for hiking adventures and more recreational activities such as strolls at the beach or a visit in a spa. • I'm not going to go into minute details. We had a great stay in the cottage between Christmas & New Year. We have no complaints. John (the host) was polite, helpful and made us welcome. The cottage is cosy, warm and comfortable. Everything you need is on hand. TV, WiFi, Radio, Microwave, Central Heating and a coal fire. A toilet and an ensuite bathroom and a fully fitted kitchen. The Cottage is a good size, we never felt cramped. It's situated perfectly for visiting all the sights that Eastern North Yorkshire has to offer. You have to remember what you are getting for your money!!! THIS IS A FULL COTTAGE FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE OTHERS ARE CHARGING IN THE AREA!!! We would recommend John's cottage to anyone and everyone and we will definitely book again.

  • Peter's place was the perfect retreat for us, a family of four and our trusty beagle. The house is very warm and cozy with direct access to the countryside. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the appliances and bath/shower rooms were all modern and we had everything we needed. We spent our days walking, despite the weather and came back to London feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. We can highly recommend Seaview (you actually can see the Sea from the loft room!) and hope to come back for a visit in a warmer season!

  • We had a fantastic stay at Seaview Cottage. It has a great location for discovering that part of the coast and views from the cottage were amazing. Perfect place for an escape from the hustle and bustle of life!

  • A fantastic spot! This is a lovely location and brilliant value. The view out the back when the skies are clear are stunning - some of the best I’ve had in anywhere I’ve stayed. The house is very modern and well designed. The kitchen has all the amenities you would need. The living space is very cosy, with a fire, and comfy sofas. All open plan - the dining table has a beautiful view out the back of the house. All the rooms are a good size and very comfy beds. Plenty of space. The outdoor space really makes this special however, and is a fantastic spot to sit and view the countyside and the sea! The hosts were very helpful, responding quickly and offered local tips. They also left some essentials and few extra bits as a nice surprise on arrival. I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

  • Perfect rural Yorkshire cottage to relax in and enjoy the view. Close to the coast for exploring nearby coastal villages. Highlight is the patio/terrace with hill and sea views in the distance, idyllic for a summer evening and bbq. The cottage is modern, all the amenities you will need and sparkling clean. Cosy log burner was warming after a day out on the coast. I would have liked slightly more comfortable sofas to relax in front of the fire but apart from that a beautiful cottage.

This is a unique and large glamping wagon on our little campsite next to Dalby Forest. Made from reclaimed trailer and materials and decorated inside in a very traditional and vintage manor. Kitchen area, dining area and two double beds and its own veranda looking over the spectacular private views. There is a firepit outside and BBQs available, deck chairs and tables all included. Perfect for a family or a couple or even as a group. Please read the additional notes and see you soon.
Safe place to stay, we are very remote :) Our private views are amazing and will leave you perfectly relaxed. There is so much space to explore, you could walk for miles without being disturbed. In a small area divided by a line of trees, just to the left as you look out of the wagons, you'll find a toilet, shower, and washing area. The wagons are heated with gas heaters, resembling vintage wood burners. These are state-of-the-art, current heaters with all necessary safety features which provide the perfect warmth for winter nights. Although the wagons have no mains power, they are lit with gas and oil lamps. Candles are also provided for the perfect romantic touch adding authenticity. There is a gas stove in the kitchen, two double beds with quality mattresses and protectors (guests must provide their own bedding). All crockery and cutlery is provided.
Being on the edge of Dalby Forest, we are the closest campsite to the forest. Great for cyclists, walkers and families alike. Our private views add a touch of tranquillity and our acres of land will provide plenty of exploring.
  • The wagons are very unique and cozy inside, everything is well kept and the surrounding area is beautiful for walks out in the countryside.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The wagon has spectacular views over the valley and is situated in a quiet location with lots of pleasant walks nearby. The interior was very well thought out and the quirky decor brought a lovely homely feel. Bruce was an amazing host and made us feel very welcome. We loved it so much we are already planning a return in summer! Definitely would recommend.

  • Such a different and unique place to stay. Very cosy and very warm in the winter with the gas fire inside. Space for a campfire outside which was lovely to sit under the stars. Wagons are quite spacious inside and have everything you need. A lovely surprise to have eggs and bacon and bread left for breakfast! Thank you!

  • A great find and so different to "glamping" as we have tried before. A lovely family who welcome you with a smile and genuinely care about your stay. Everything is thought about and the homemade treats are a welcoming touch. Thank you again!

My place is close to the both North and South bays, Peasholme Park, beach, playgrounds, the castle. Wonderfully located on a quiet residential street. The property is the ground floor flat in a Victorian Townhouse. You’ll love my place because of the location and the ambiance. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families with smaller kids, and furry friends (pets). CANNOT SLEEP 4 ADULTS, only 2 Adults and 2 Children / Teenagers. Small pets welcome - just not the sofa
Lovely flat by the seaside with private garage. Sleeps 2 Adults + 2 Children. Please ensure to specifiy if more than 2 people will be staying. By default we only leave bedding out for the double bed, when additional people are staying we leave out additional bedding **very important**. Private Garage (quite narrow, however I could just fit my old people mover in it). This flat is ideally suited for a couple, however the sofa in the sitting room can be folded out to provide 2 additional single beds suitable for children. Situated in an enviable position on the north bay cliff top area of Scarborough, short stroll will bring you to numerous shops, pubs and really good restaurants. A 10 minute walk will take you into the heart of Scarborough where you can enjoy a taste of a true British holiday beside the sea, complete with Blue Flag awarded swimming beach, well maintained amusement arcades, traditional gift shops and harbourside stalls selling locally made rock candy and fresh shellfish. Scarborough's harbour area and piers are where to head, for fishing trips and boat trips and to view the famous 1930s lighthouse. There are numerous activities in Scarborough for all ages including swimming, golfing, fishing, indoor go-karting, bowling and cinemas and lots more. Travelling slightly further, you can appreciate the beautiful North York Moor National Park, and Dalby Forest is a great place to visit for mountain bike enthusiasts, with some excellent pathways and cycle tracks and the famous Go Ape assault course that the kids will love. Ground floor flat in Victorian townhouse. Recently renovated and decorated in a simple but stylish manner. The property consists of Master bedroom, Sitting Room and Kitchen / Diner & two small bathrooms with a Shower and toilet in each. The kitchen & diner is outfitted with a 2 burner electric hob, a combined Microwave convection oven, integrated fridge freeze, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, and a kitchen table large enough for 4 people. The sitting room contains an L shaped sofa which seats 3 people (and also folds out into two single beds suitable for children), an arm chair, a wall mounted TV and a DVD player. Quality linen and towels are provided with the rental as well as small basics such as handsoap, and dishwasher tablets. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Highchair and travel cot are also provided. Everything you need for a romantic escape for 2 people, or a budget holiday for a young family. The windows are on street level with Venetian blinds and curtains provided for privacy. The back faces an internal sheltered courtyard planted with ferns and evergreens.
This is a quiet street located above the north bay. When you walk out the front door you are a thirty second walk to the top of the cliff and its beautiful view over north bay and the castle. There are benches on the cliff where you can relax and admire the view - the sun sets over land, but the colours of the sky over the sea are often spectacular here. I am a big fan of sitting on a cliff top bench, watching the sun set as I eat fish and chips (from North Bay Fisheries by Peasholm Park). North bay has at least 4 renown cafes. The most popular is the Watermark serving organic, locally farmed produce, and fabulous breakfasts all year round. Just across from the Watermark you can find, wetsuit, kayak and surfboard hire, as well as surfing lessons. The same parade of shops also has a Nisa Local, an ice cream parlour, Doorstep Adventures selling souvenirs, Crocs and wellies, as well as lovely things. If you turn left out of the house you are a short walk from both South Bay beach and the town centre with all the shops and restaurants. At least three of Scarborough's restaurants have been mentioned in the Michelin guide: Jeremy's, The Green Room and Lanterna. All walking distance from the house. You can get to the castle at the top of castle road in less than ten minutes, a walk that takes you past Anne Brontë's grave in St Mary's church yard. Scarborough train station is about 1.25km through the town centre, which is about a 20 minute stroll. Taxis should cost no more than £6.
  • A very comfortable property, with excellent amenities, in a first class location.

  • Apartment is in a fantastic location, kitchen had all appliances you need and more. It was nice, warm and cosy even in November. Kasia was very helpful and friendly host. I recommend this place.

  • Lovely apartment, handy to have the garage large enough to fit a ford focus in! Amazing location in the middle of everything in Scarborough, we didn't have to use our car once. Lovely little touches in the apartment, felt very at home. Just door in lounge was hanging off its hinges, didn't bother us but could be a bit of hazard in the future.

  • Thanks so much for a wonderful second stay in your lovely apartment - it was just as we remembered it from October last year! Such a great location and has everything you need - and more! A spacious, clean, comfortable apartment with wonderful decorations and quirks. A perfect location for being able to explore the town, visit both bays, head down to Sealife, and take a train to a nearby town for the day. We love sunny Scarborough! 🙂
