Various shopping facilities are in the village – including Supermarket, bakery and pharmacy. The train station is 1.5 km from the house.

"Benno the Wagon" - a tiny house on the edge of the forest

"Benno the Car" was originally an old shooting stand, which we converted into a tiny house with a lot of passion and love for detail. In it you can now stay in the middle of nature and still feel at home. On about 16 square meters you have everything you really need to live. Benno stands near a detached cottage outside Kleintettau in the Franconian Forest. On a meadow on the edge of the forest, he says good night to the fox and rabbit and is happy about company!

When master baker Hans Lange settled here in Saalfed in 1546 with the secret Nuremberg gingerbread recipe, no one could have guessed that his business would continue for 19 generations. Our apartment is located in the small, cozy Lehesten - the land of blue slate. Great cycling and hiking trails around the Rennsteig invite you to a relaxing holiday. 🚴🥾 In Lehesten there is the oldest roofer school in Germany, as well as the famous Schiefersee [slate lake] – here everything revolves around slate! The town of Steinbach am Wald, about 9 km away, also offers a swimming pool and a small bowling alley for the whole family.
