  • An idyllic location with everything you could ask for. Callum went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed into this beautifully converted container. My girlfriend and I look forward to returning!

  • I would recommend this accommodation highly. We had a lovely 2 night stay. The container is thoughtfully laid out with everything you need. It’s in a beautiful setting hidden away! Just perfect in every way. Also a bonus we could bring the dog.

  • Lovely place for a weekend escape ! This container is super cosy and located in a quiet and peaceful area - I had everything we needed! Definitely would stay again.

  • Booked this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend, to have a relaxed escape during the beginning of the year. We had an amazing time, the location and container itself was beautiful and every detail inside was carefully thought of. Seems small from the outside but inside it feels open and spacious. Callum was extremely helpful and answered any queries quickly and efficiently. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a tranquil escape in the countryside.

  • Although not a huge space, this accommodation was so comfortable and relaxing for our two day stay. Despite horrific rain and stormy weather, we had a wonderful time. The beds were so comfortable and the decor so modern and tasteful, really making the most of space. We thoroughly enjoyed waking up to see a beautiful deer on the field in front of us and can highly recommend the nearby Red Lion pub in Broadclyst too for great food and a warm welcome. This was in a beautiful, peaceful and rural setting close to the cool city of Exeter. A lovely half term break.

    anthony2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The container exceed our expectations, it is designed in such a way that you could easily live there with high spec mod cons and extras such as Wifi and a TV (which was great for us as it rained all weekend) The container was spotless, it was hard to believe there had been other guests before us. Location was stunning with views over the hills and super quiet, we didn’t see a soul all weekend other than a couple of pheasants. Check in was easy and whilst we didn’t see the host the comms was good and they were available if needed. We would highly recommended and will absolutely return.

    Claire2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Callum’s place was great. Really enjoyed the views over countryside from secluded container. The container was thoughtfully decorated and you felt like at home. We enjoyed having the log burner on at evenings. We would recommend this place to anyone!

Converted as an industrial warehouse, Bodgers is a 17th century boat house that has been re-furbished in a retro industrial loft style. Bulthaup kitchen, luxury bathroom, fireplace, opposite the river Exe and next to all the best pubs and eateries.
Totally unique space in Devon. Done out as an industrial style loft space with exposed metal trunking, high ceilings, air management systems and lots of glazing. The floors are basalt, the kitchen is wardrobe style Balthaup B2. The bathroom has a £7000 luxury bath, totally open wet room shower and Bisazza wall coverings. This place is perfect for young couples who want to be in the heart of Topsham's eating and drinking whilst directly opposite the water. The second bedroom has a truckle bed system that can either be 1 or 2 singles or join to make a double. There is a glass garage in the lounge with a classic Porsche as art. If you are style conscious or love food and wine - there is nothing like it in Devon! BTW Virgin Tivo box and 100MB internet access is free. I have also been asked by a guest to mention that the bedrooms have windows for light but no external windows.
What's not to love! Beautiful estuary town with loads of history as a Dutch trading point. Great walks, fantastic estuary, huge choice of great restaurants and pubs. Exeter is only 10 minutes away (into the centre).
  • A very stylish & well thought out apartment, with everything you'll need for a stay, & most importantly lovely & clean! Jose is the perfect host, giving tips on walks, eating, etc. We ate some of the most tastiest food in The Galley restaurant. The locals are just lovely & welcoming! We will most definitely be returning to the Bodgers Hole! Thank you Jose

Self contained, luxurious eco retreat in the beautiful East Devon countryside - just 6 miles from the sea! As seen on Grand Designs and Grand Designs Revisited 2018, our property is a zero carbon luxurious eco home, built from traditional cob, with a wildflower meadow roof and set in 3.5 acres of meadow and woodland. Ottery St Mary is a charming, bustling, little town, set on the River Otter, providing all the basic needs, independent shops and plenty of lovely eateries, and a few pubs!
As seen on Grand Designs and Grand Designs Revisited 2018, our property is a modern zero carbon eco luxurious home, built from traditional cob, with an amazing wildflower meadow roof and set in 3.5 acres of meadow and woodland. This is a luxury, zero carbon house - we produce all of our own electricity and all of our water is either filtered rainwater or from our borehole. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and scones or biscuits are provided as a welcome pack for your arrival. Dingle Dell annexe is linked to our home by a large, very productive, (almost tropical!) greenhouse. Dingle Dell annexe has 3 bedrooms - a king and a twin on the ground floor, with a further king upstairs, all furnished with quality oak furniture, deep mattresses and quality bedding. The bathrooms are both beautifully fitted with travertine floor tiles, with a walk in rainfall shower and a very comfy slipper bath on the ground floor, and a luxury shower over the bath on the first floor. Both bathrooms are also fitted with luxurious "I Love Eco Essentials" toiletries. There is a gorgeous woodburner, with logs provided, in the ground floor living area, which is used to boost the hot water if the sun lets us down! This then opens onto a sunspace with a dining table and amazing views across our meadow and out onto East Devon. Stunning hand made oak stairs wind up to the first floor from the sunspace, into an open living / dining and bespoke hand made oak kitchen, plus the king bedroom and bathroom. The layout is great for grand parents, parents and children, or multiple couples holidaying together as it still achieves a level of privacy and space if required! We also have an amazing private gym / sauna/ games room suite which is available to book for your exclusive use for an additional charge. This is available to annexe guests over 18 years only. There is lots of space for easy parking on site and a covered charging bay for electric cars if required.
We are at the end of a long, unmetalled track, right on the edge of Ottery St Mary surrounded by beautiful East Devon countryside. Exeter is only 10 miles away, and the stunning East Devon (Jurassic) coast is just 6 miles away. Head to the coast for a beach walk or beach day, plus activities such as kayaking and fossil hunting, plus the famous South West coast path. A choice of bike trails are nearby and a footpath across the surrounding farmland is just outside the gate! A walk along the River Otter, which leads all the way to Budleigh Salterton from Ottery St Mary, is glorious and shouldn't be overloooked, a few miles south takes you to the village of Tipton St John, with a very lovely country pub... Keep a look out for amazing wildlife including otters and even beavers along the riverbanks!
  • A truly spectacular place to stay. Kevin and Karen were very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay very much.

    Bex2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin and Karen made sure we were comfortable but at the same time were always available if we needed something. The house is even more amazing than it looks on Grand Designs. Everything is beautifully crafted, beautiful to look at and the walls seem to almost hug you. We're only sorry that we were too busy driving around sightseeing to take the time to go for a walk through the meadow and see if we could see any otters in the stream. Would recommend this to anyone!

    Cathy2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Dingle Dell is an extraordinary, robust home! A warm, cosy and comfortable space to return to after a long day touring gorgeous Devon. Kevin and Karen are exemplary hosts who were very obliging and quick to respond. Enjoy!

The Old Dairy at Crosslands House has been carefully restored to make a delightful one-bed visitors cottage. Upstairs is one large open space, sitting area with log-burner, a modern kitchen and dining space. Downstairs is the bedroom and modern bathroom. We are very easy to find and only 15 min drive away from the M5 Junction 27 or 28. A great place for relaxing or some winter walks. Great local food from farm shops and local suppliers. Happy to have anyone needing a longer stays.
The cottage is very spacious and comfortable, ideal for a single or couple ( babies can be accommodated ) to stay for some R & R or explore this lovely county of Devon which offers coastline and moorland for walks, the city of Exeter with it's cathedral and roman history, National Trust houses and many seaside and moorland villages to explore. Returning to this welcoming cottage the wood burning stove ensures the cottage is cosy for all year round visits and the garden is a delight during the warmer months. There is TV, movies, music, games and books for enjoyable relaxation. The kitchen is well equipped for enthusiastic cooks with supplies of our own apple juice and cider. A local farm shop ( with cafe ) is a source of good local produce. There is garden space just for the cottage for relaxing, alfresco eating and drinking but visitors are welcome explore our large garden ( a work in progress ! ) There are great pubs in local villages which can also provide excellent beer and food.
Explore the moors, coasts, history, and gardens of Devon, starting with a walk along the nearby Great Western Canal. The area is rural with surrounding farmland, and a village with a pub, plus well-stocked farm shop and cafe, is about 1.5 miles away. The small market town of Tiverton is about 4 miles away with a twice weekly market, local museum, varied shops and supermarkets.
  • Our stay at Annie’s was short but sweet. The space was clean and stylish, with a cozy log burner and luxurious bathtub, big well stocked kitchen and just an all around well designed space. The bed was incredible, we slept so well! There were so many goodies and thoughtful touches too... fresh flowers, apple juice, etc. Her gardens are beautiful even this time of year and it was lovely to stroll through and birdwatch. Annie is generous and kind and really took the time to make us welcome; her and I had a nice long chat one rainy morning about her work and the property and their apple processing... it was lovely. Would definitely stay again and would definitely recommend!

    Laura2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, lovely personal touches and really nice space to relax in. Private, clean and all the amenities you need. We brought our own logs for the fire, but no need as they have lots and it was perfect for the chilly evenings! We especially enjoyed the Canal walks and a pint at The Globe pub after 😊 thanks for the homemade apple juice and nibbles Annie 💖

    Madeleine2020-02-24T00:00:00Z

Private 1st floor flat with full kitchen (oven + hob), big shower, large deck. In peaceful rural setting with views of fields, cows and trees, 7 miles from Exeter centre. Range of breakfast items, including eggs from our hens. Comfy kingsize bed. 4 ft sofabed available for 1 or 2 people.
Covid 19- special notes. In the light of the current pandemic, I have altered my booking settings to take as many precautions as possible to avoid contagion of either us or guests. So until further notice (ie until the disease has run its course), I’m leaving big gaps between bookings for cleaning, and asking that people book at least for 5 days as I do not think I could safely manage a faster turnover. If you have any further questions, please drop me a message! The garden flat is our guest room, located above our detached garage. It has wide views over fields and its own large raised deck where you can sit and eat or drink wine while watching the cows and sheep go by. It has a large shower and a well-equipped kitchen (including fridge, cooker, oven, toaster, kettle and selection of hot drinks) where you can make your own meals. There is a dining area and an office corner. Our house and the flat get all their heat and hot water from a biomass boiler that burns local logs, which we happily explain to you if you would like to know about it. We are rather fond of our boiler!
The flat is surrounded by green Devon fields and working farms. It is very gentle and quiet, however our neighbours are dairy farmers and are often up and working by 5am. There are cows nearby. Our hamlet is a lovely, gentle place, where very little happens. There is a forest with a set of good walking tracks within walking distance, and a wonderful hill with a 270 degree view just up the road. If you come in the rainy season (January to December) remember your wellies or sturdy footwear if you want to walk in the forest as it can be muddy. There is a good country pub called the The New Inn on the edge of Broadclyst about 2 miles away where you can get decent meals for a reasonable price. There is also a gastro-pub 3 miles away in Clyst Hydon, which is more expensive but very good- The Five Bells. There is a village shop and a Coop supermarket in Broadclyst. We live on the edge of the Killerton estate, a National Trust house and gardens with an interesting collection of period costume and a range of interesting events and exhibitions throughout the year. The sea at Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth is about half an hour away. The North Devon coast is about one hour away.
  • Eleanor’s cosy apartment is located in beautiful countryside, it is quiet and has everything you need for your trip. The fresh eggs, bread and other thoughtful touches were really appreciated. There is ample parking and Elanor’s communication and local tips are great too. Thank you for a lovely stay!

    Tony2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Eleanor's place was comfortable, cozy, and clean. It made for the perfect getaway from the big London smoke. Easy to find. Well-equipped and stocked. The breakfast options were amazing - cereals, bread, croissants, fruit, an array of tea and coffee, juice. But the best thing was the farm fresh eggs. Communication with Eleanor was super easy, both leading up to and during our stay. Would highly recommend staying at Eleanor's place.

  • Such a lovely cottage, just as pictured and with lots of thoughtful touches like snacks and proper coffee. Still feels very private although it is attached to the main house. The place was sparkling clean and smelled great! We got a bit lost arriving after dark (Londoners in the country!!) but Phillip and his neighbours were very helpful and made sure we arrived safely. We only had a short stay with our pup to visit friends in Exeter but hope to come back to explore the countryside. The stargazing was top notch too!

  • We visited with our small dog, who also had a great time. We had a perfect stay. Warm and welcoming hosts who were easy to communicate with. Clear directions, in a beautiful rural location. The accommodation was sparkling clean, and thoughtfully designed. Lots of added touches, including snacks and fresh fruit. We arrived past day light, but waking up to such a special view was a real treat. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

  • The stay as a whole was an absolute dream, the views, the utilities, it was amazing so my partner and I would like to thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home. If you are looking for a relaxing, country get away then this is the ideal place to stay. Amazing decor, amazing area, amazing host. What a pleasure. See you again soon.

  • Lovely little cottage in the quiet Devon countryside. This property is attached to the main building but easily accessible. Phillip was very kind to show us around and recommend local places to go for food and drinks. We especially enjoyed The Pig at Combe.

This beautiful room is a part of our new house. Everything is brand new, stylish, comfortable and very clean. Cranbrook itself is a new town situated in the outskirts of Exeter city, with a very quick access to M5 and A30. Our place is close to Exeter Airport , but very quiet. Rugby stadium, Sowton , West Point and Crealy Park are not far from here. Parking on the street is always available. Taxi to the airport is about £10-12.
Our place is just a couple of minutes away from M5 and A30.

  • I had a lovely stay here. The room has everything you could need and is very well priced. Tanya is a very accommodating host, with quick response times to any queries I had. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

  • A wonderful and helpful host. Exceptionally tidy and clean home. The room is spacious with a tv and kettle in the room. Highly recommended booking as it is an excellent stay. It is also very close to the airport and a bus service into the city is about 10 mins walk. As this is a new build, use google maps if your satnav isn't up to date.

Very spacious, contemporary new build house in Cranbrook. 2 minutes drive (1.1 miles) from Exeter International Airport & 10 minute walk to the train station going to Exeter St Davids and London, Waterloo. Easy commute to Exeter city centre. 4 minute walk to the nearest Pub, Cranberry Farm and a 10 minute walk to a CO-OP store. Local Chinese take-away offer free deliveries. Smokers in garden only, all people from all backgrounds welcome! Please note this is not IN Exeter, we are next to the airport, not the city centre.
Its a new build house, it was completed in june 2017 and was a blank canvass for when we moved in. As a young couple, and one of us being an Architectural technician, we wanted to accomplish a contemporary feel without taking away the comfort a more traditional decor home naturally accomodates. The house isnt huge, but it does not lack character. Your bedroom has been designed to best accomodate the short stay we expect, with a desk, a chair and a smart TV, we are hopefullt providing you with all the home comforts you should need.
Canbrook is a brand new town, with a thriving communtity. Dont be supprised if you receive a "Good Morning" from a passer by as you leave number 45 and continue on your travels.

The Annex is a beautifully compacted space which can be adapted for disabled guests. It is just off the A30 with great links to Exeter and only 8 miles from Exmouth. The Annex is at the back of a house called Upper Spilsby which has a private driveway for you to use. The Annex has its only private entrance and comes with a double bed, cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and dishwasher. There is a TV and small table and chairs.
All the thresholds at the Annex are levelled and there is easy disabled access to the property. There is a shower stool and commode available upon request. There is a sofa bed which could be used if it was a family or party of three. I wouldn't recommend any more than three people staying although a booking of four would be considered. A travel cot can also be provided if needed.
The Annex is set in the quiet countryside with gorgeous views down to the sea on a clear day and open countryside. There is a little woodland you can walk through but there aren't many long walks without having to drive to. Ottery St. Mary is a short drive away which offers lots of lovely coffee shops, boutique shops and there is also a Sainsburys there.

Julian and Hilary will offer a warm welcome and hope your stay at The Pea (aka The Park of Economic Achievements) will be a delight. The house is a 16th Century cottage full of character in the middle of Whimple. There are two guest rooms (this is the smaller of the two). Exeter Airport is a 10 mins drive and a lift to the airport can be arranged. There are two pubs which both serve food in the village. Exeter is 8 miles away.
A beautiful beamed bedroom with WiFi, tea and coffee facilities. Our house is full of art and has an interesting history.
Whimple is a historic village, and there are many interesting buildings including a History Centre which is open in the summer.
  • Our family regularly stays with Hilary and Julian when visiting relatives in Whimple. We highly recommend it (see earlier reviews for more details).

  • What an amazing place to stay. I cannot stress how welcome Julian and Hilary made me feel during my 3-night stay. Their hospitality was next level, even inviting me to supper with them one evening. It really was a homely environment and exceptionally clean. If you get chance take a look in the downstairs bathroom at their wonderful collection of airline posters. Already looking forward to going back and visiting them in the future.

We enjoy welcoming guests to our relaxed bohemian family home. You are welcome to use any of our communal areas including the Kitchen. This single room is small but cosy with a comfortable single bed, with a mattress bought recently. I offer a range of delicious breakfast options and I have extensive experience cooking vegan and vegetarian, gluten, dairy free, paleo food. There are building works being carried out next door but the developer is very considerate. We have a friendly cat.
Our cottage is situated at the back of the high street and on the whole is very quiet, at the same time offering the convenience of being near the train station and town amenities.
Honiton is a bustling town with lots of amenities from independent shops to High Street retailers. There are some good places to eat, and if you're feeling adventurous and willing to go further afield there are some astonishingly good places to eat (The Pig, The Jack in the Green, River Cottage Canteen). There is a train station with direct Waterloo.

Seatime studio apartment has been lovingly refurbished and equipped to offer everything you will need for a truly comfortable stay. It is in the heart of the charming, upmarket seaside resort of Sidmouth, a minutes walk from the beach and town centre
Location, location, location! The apartment is in an ideal location in the centre of Sidmouth, a minute or twos walk to the beach and town centre, yet a peaceful and quiet place to stay.
Sidmouth is a lovely place to spend time, the beach and coastline are stunning, the town has a wealth of small independent shops and restaurants and there are award winning gardens. So many guests find themselves coming back time and time again
  • A great little private place to get away from it all - and very close to the beach, shops and restaurants.

Hi, Me and my girlfriend have recently purchased a 3-bed Redrow house in which the spare guest room is not being used - so have the perfect opportunity for hosting! We consider the house to be contemporary, clean and very inviting. We pride ourselves on offering a warm and pleasant guest environment. Our house is situated within a new development in Pinhoe, which is based on the outskirts of Exeter. We hope you consider us for hosting but if not, thanks for looking at our page. Dan & Beth
Spacious and modern new-build “Redrow” house completed in July 2019. Bedroom is designed to best accommodate a short stay with the following:- - Double bed with a comfortable mattress - Assortment of pillows - Bedside table - Clothes rack, hangers and drawer space - Dressing room next door WiFi is available and we currently have virgin installed which is very very quick to every room in the house. Chest of drawers in the room is not to be used, but can be emptied for your stay if required (please request this upon arrival)
Quiet development (Redrow/Barratt) in Pinhoe on the outskirts of Exeter. We are living adjacent to the construction site at the moment, but works commence between 8am and finish promptly at 5pm. Local Co-op opposite the entrance to our development which is very handy. Central hub of Pinhoe is 10 minute walk from our house and that has a really nice pub, cocktail bar, chinese, shop, post office, subway etc. There is also a Sainsburys/Aldi which is a 5 minute drive from our house. M5/A30 (A30 takes you 10 minutes to Exeter airport) is located about 5 mins drive from our house. Also very close to Sandy Park (Exeter Chiefs Rugby Stadium) which may be of interest.
  • Great hosts and place! I felt very comfortable and welcomed!

The same bus will also take you one to Exeter, or certain ones will go to Honiton in the other direction. Carla provided a good range of cereals, fruit, yoghurt for breakfast which set me up for the day.

My place is close to the beach, cinema, theatre, shops and restuarants. Coastal walks. Short drive to the famous Donkey Sanctuary, public transport, the airport. You’ll love my place because of the ambiance and the comfy bedS. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travel
  • Wendy was a great host who made us feel very welcome in her lovely home. The breakfast was a nice treat in the morning. Thank you again for a great stay. Would definitely recommend.

  • Wendy is a lovely host and has a super clean and warm home. Lovely private shower room, the comfy bed an quality linen ensured a well earned sleep after a long drive .Loved the location just 10 minutes walk from the beach front and facilities. Wendy makes a darn good fresh fruit salad with muesli for breakfast. I do think however that her rates are too low - possibly the best value accommodation in Devon and now our go-to place down there.

  • I felt welcomed as soon as Wendy opened the door. The room was spacious and clean. It smelt amazing too and you can tell she takes pride in being the perfect host. She’s open to conversation and she respected my privacy. The bed was comfortable and I loved the shower facility. Loads of power and heat if required. I access to my own shower/toilet. Again I could tell she has invested in quality. The highlight was my breakfast. I had my own granola but preferred her fruit salad she prepared every morning. I appreciated the effort she put into preparation and also the quality of the fruit. It was like being at home. I was free to come and go and this was important for me. I would definitely recommend Wendy’s place. It’s literally 10minute walk to the coast.

  • A warm welcome, a clean and comfortable bedroom and shower room. An excellent breakfast.

  • My Xmas break was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. Easy to walk into town (about 10 minutes) The Donkey Sanctuary was easy to reach on the bus. Wendy was such a lovely person and I was very much at home with the two very friendly cats. TV in bedroom or the use of the lounge. Wendy lit the fire which was so cosy. The breakfast she provided was perfect and her garden lovely in warmer months. The whole house was very clean and sole use of shower/bathroom. Will return again. Jen

TipToes is in a quiet residential area, 1.5 miles to Sidmouth town center. There are several lovely walks close by, as well as supermarkets, chemists, bakery and petrol station. Sidmouth is a Regency seaside town with plenty to offer the holidaymaker. There is a great selection of restaurants, cafes and shops, as well as The Radway Cinema for those rainy days. The Manor Pavillion Theatre for some wonderful entertainment opportunities. The Donkey Sanctuary (and restaurant) is only a few miles away with a free bus in the summer. Also the Norman Lockyer Observatory for the astronomy enthusiasts (limited opening). The beautiful Byes Walk along the river Sid from Sidford to Sidmouth, is about 10 minutes walk from our home. Not to mention the Sidmouth Folk Week (August); Donkey Week, usually in May, at the Donkey Sanctuary; Sidmouth Regatta, and the amazing Red Arrows fly-over (late August at the start of the regatta); and of course, the beach!!
  • Ali and J are the most friendly, welcoming and thoughtful hosts. The holiday I had staying in their home ticked all my boxes - comfortable, clean, up to date, lots of helpful information and a lovely dog to pet!!

    Joan2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • By far the best Airbnb we’ve stayed in with regards to the hosts! We were made to feel so welcome, and I actually said to a friend it felt like staying with family!! We will be returning and also recommending Ali’s place to anyone that mentions travelling to Sidmouth or the surrounding areas 👍

  • Our favourite Airbnb property. Ali and Jay are excellent hosts and the accommodation is very comfortable and well designed. Our weekend there was perfect and we recommend a visit to Tiptoes.

    James2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice little self contained annex with two bedrooms and access to west facing sun-deck and garden with view across valley. Ali and her husband John ("J") are super hosts and we found them excellent company, though I am sure they would let you be if you wanted privacy. They property is up a hill about two miles out of Sidmouth so your own car is probably a necessity, especially as taxis can be hit and miss in the evenings. We really loved our stay.

    Adam2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ali,s place is spotless, tastefully decorated, very relaxing. lovely garden, the host and her husband are really nice welcoming people and i would highly recommend staying there

Stay in the private wing of our house in a converted farm, set in 4 acres of the beautiful East Devon countryside. We try to be as eco friendly as possible growing most of our own fruit and vegetables. We keep hens that provide us with delicious eggs and bee hives will arrive in April. Enjoy strolling around our wild flower meadow and newly planted vineyard. Spend cosy winter evenings around the log burning stove. We are happy to have a well behaved dog to stay.
The Gate House offers a bedroom with a super king size bed (that can be divided into 2 singles); a large sitting room with log burner and sofa bed; a large bathroom with bath and separate shower; a spacious breakfast area; a sunny outside terrace; and parking for 2 cars. You are welcome to enjoy our 4 acres of garden and meadow.
The village of Whimple is 5 minutes by car or a 10 minute walk across the fields. In the village are 2 friendly pubs, a local shop and our heritage centre. There are many excellent restaurants close by, including the Pig at Combe in Gittisham, the Five Bells at Clyst Hydon and the Jack in the Green at Rockbeare.
  • We had a lovely stay here! The log fire was fab. The bread and eggs provided for breakfast each day was a really nice touch. Deborah is so helpful and lovely! Would definitely recommend!

    Chloe2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place ... so much space with everything you need, welcoming and warm, fabulous homemade bread, all with hosts that will do all they can to make your stay unforgettable. Thanks you Debs and Jules.

  • Thankyou all for making our stay wonderful, hope our pups werent too much of a pest.

    Philippa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Deb was extremely friendly & accommodating, homemade bread was scrummy & everything you need to make breakfast, logs in plentiful supply for the log burner, would love to visit again, thank you so much .

    Jackie2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • The log burner at Deborah's place was the winning feature for us, we could just snuggle into the sofas with books and relax. There were some tasty homemade items to make a simple breakfast including home made bread. We had a great meal at the Five Bells in at Clyst Hydon, not too far away. It was nice to have Deb and Julian's gardens to walk around, there are interesting things growing in there! Easy parking & convenient location.

    Rachel2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah's place quickly felt like my home away from home. Great communications along my journey, welcoming hospitality on arrival together with a warm fire and stocked fridge. Thank you so much for a great stay and we look forward to the next time that we book with you.

    Robert2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful stay at Deb's place! Breakfast was delicious, the accommodation is attached to their home but very private. Deb was a wonderful host; the log fire was going strong for our arrival which was a lovely touch and the home-made biscuits were divine!! She was even kind enough to post back my toothbrush that I left behind! thanks for a wonderful stay, we'll be back!

    Lisa2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place and a charming host! Cosy, spotlessly clean and stylish accommodation in an idyllic, quiet setting yet only a short hop to Exeter. Deborah provided home baked bread, plus daily croissants, fresh eggs, butter, tea, coffee (thankfully including decaf), fresh orange juice, marmalade and jam. There's parking right outside the entrance, and everything's on the ground floor, so ideal for anyone who can't deal with stairs. A great shower, full sized bathtub, king size bed with good quality mattress, a small but adequate fridge, an egg cooker, kettle and all the crockery and cutlery you are likely to need. French doors to a delightful patio with tables and chairs overlooking a very pretty, sheltered garden. Adjacent to the Gate House there's a wonderful enclosed field and meadow which our dogs enjoyed exploring. There's a small vegetable plot protected against wild animals using a low voltage electric fence, but our two dogs kept week away from that and the flock of chickens who also call this delightful place "home". There's an excellent log burner in the sitting room, a Freesat tv and (somewhat patchy) WI-FI. Easily "five star" accommodation and six star location and hospitality (exceptional).

  • Radka & Hayden have created a really nice space with thoughtful and practical touches. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and a good touch of character. It's an annexe attached to their house but it felt totally private and had everything needed for a short stay. If I'm coming back to the Sidmouth area at any point I'd be keen to stay here again.

  • The accommodation is self contained, with a private entrance and en suite; you access it directly from the driveway on the ground floor. It was spotlessly clean, the bed was very large and comfortable and I loved the rainfall shower. It's not a huge space but was perfect for our needs. The town is a short drive away, but you can get the bus nearby (a three-minute walk) if you're planning to have a drink or don't want to bother with parking and I understand there's a pub within walking distance, although we didn't try it out. (We at at Dukes Inn and can recommend!) We requested the booking very last minute but Radka was unflappable and made it happen for us, despite some technical difficulties with AirBnB - thank you Radka! We definitely wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we are in the area.

  • Wonderful, cosy little nook in the Devon countryside and absolutely what we needed. Warm, homely and brilliantly equipped for us and our daughter - the only additional cost has been having to acquire our own panda after someone didn’t want to leave the cottage resident behind! Well placed for access to Sidmouth and Exeter. Thoroughly recommended.

  • I stayed with Lucy whilst I was travelling for work. Her home is on a new build estate and is very modern and stylish. It's also really convenient for J29. The room is spacious and I had private use of the main bathroom, which also had plenty of room. I worked quite long days so didn't make use of the kitchen or spend much time there in the evenings, so I didn't get to interact much with my hosts, but I did meet Ralph the dog in the mornings who was super friendly and so sweet!

    Chris2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent host, and very good place to stay.

    Matthew2019-10-17T00:00:00Z

  • Lovely place to stay. Lucy was very responsive and there to meet me when I arrived. Clean and tidy and full use of the kitchen. I was going to the Met Office and if your OK with a little walk, it was only about 25 mins away. Not too far from the airport either and I managed it all without a car. Would stay again.
