Cottage holiday rentals in San Diego

We have stayed in this community many MANY times. I will say this.... You can't beat the location! The views and accessability to the beach, pool, parking was phenomenal! The beach toys and extra fans were great! The artwork in the unit was awesome and the owners brought a new table for the patio that was really nice! On the other hand.... this not the most updated condo, not the best equipt kitchen, and not the comfiest beds we have ever had in this community. For the extra money we would likely choose another unit next time.

This location is by far my favorite during my many visits to SD. Cutest cottage with the perfect location. Walkable to some amazing coffee shops and to the beach! Although the street has a lot of foot traffic, the cottage was very peaceful. It was never noisy and parking was never an issue for myself and guests that visited. Kristine and Clint were very responsive and gave simple instructions for us. This is a great place to relax and unplug! Thank you for an amazing time!

Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely neighborhood. ( neighbor cut me one of her roses)Easy to get around. Ocean Beach so close. I would like to recommend that some safety bars placed in the shower. It was slippery Also, microwave was difficult to get at on top of the fridge for us short er folks. But the stay was wonderful. Would recommend it to others!

This place is incredible! The beds are so comfy, the location is ideal to the bay and an area restaurants etc! The outdoor space is lovely. And the pool and hot tub are awesome! We did not want to leave! Aurrora is a wonderful host too. You can’t go wrong with this place!

A true coastal haven indeed! This place was the perfect weekend getaway! Just a short walk to the beach with tons of great shops and cafes nearby—everything in Ocean Beach is so accessible. Having overnight parking made it easy to explore more of San Diego, from paddle boarding in the bay with super convenient gear rentals to quick trips to SeaWorld and downtown for the nightlife. The house had everything we needed for a relaxing stay with friends. The spa was a highlight—clean, cozy, and perfect for winding down after a full day. Plus, our pup loved the private patio with a pet relief area and had a blast at the nearby dog park and dog beach. Highly recommend for couples, families, or friends looking to enjoy the beach life with all the comforts of home. We’d absolutely come back—and don’t miss grabbing some Hoagies while you’re here!

There is so much to do for adults and kids. We Enjoyed the peaceful beauty of the outdoors and sat around the fire pit after getting out of the hot tub. We walked the trails, played with the animals as well as the kids playing on the trampoline, tire swings and zip line. We also learned that there were a few locations on the property and we plan to come back next year with more family. We really enjoyed our stay.

This place is small but you can't beat being able to park at the house and walk to the beach and a multitude of places to eat. There is plenty of items to entertain kids so was great for our family.

Great house with all the necessities for a family of 4 with 2 young kids. North coast village was convenient and centrally located for our trips to San Diego, LEGOLAND, Temecula and Zoo safari park. We loved being close to the beach and appreciated the beach gear and towels that were provided.

Amazing place to stay. Very safe and nice neighborhood to walk around. Perfect for dogs, fully enclosed and safe to leave outside. We could walk to the beach with the dogs from the air bnb. 5-10 min drive from everything in Oceanside. We will definitely return!

We had an amazing stay at Russell’s house. He was very prompt in addressing our queries related to the house. The house was clean, cozy and comfortable. Highly recommend!

This is our second stay at this cottage. And we will definitely stay here again and again. The cottage is very nicely furnished, the kitchen contents are complete and (most importantly) the bed is very comfortable! There is a very nice outdoors area with seating and San Diego weather is almost always perfect to take advantage of that. An added bonus is that our daughter lives close enough to walk! Devon is so easy to reach and very responsive to questions. I highly recommend this property!

Our stay in Bird Rock was amazing. This rental was exactly what we were looking for. Super accessible to everything we needed. Short drive to beaches and restaurants (if you want to go further into La Jolla). Plentiful coffee, pastries, açaí bowls all around. It was great spending mornings on the roof top patio drinking our coffee and planning the day. 10/10 would stay again. Thanks Matt!

We loved our stay at Atalanta’s place! Very walkable neighborhood with lots to do nearby, the beach only a few blocks down, and very comfortable place to stay after a long day! Very accommodating and our dogs were very comfortable as well!

We had a great time in Ocean Beach, his place is super close to the beach and all kinds of restaurants and target. it is not loud at all at night time. the guy next door at the cycle shop is nice. I felt safe being there with my kids. I read reviews so brought my own toaster, no big deal. Smelled and felt clean. my kids liked the pull out couch. The only suggestion I would make for the owner is clean up the outside area where we park it's realy dumpy looking. But will definitely stay again.

Absolutely loved this cozy little cottage! Had everything we needed and Victor went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Was able to bring our little dog which was a big plus. I would definitely stay here again and it’s very close to the I-8 which is another reason we chose this place. Highly recommend Victor’s Olive Manor!

My siblings and I had a wonderful stay at Steve’s cottage! It’s a delightful unit 30 seconds from the beach. We’re four grown adults and fit just fine in the unit — two on the bed, two on the pullout couch. It was clean, Steve was very communicative and let us check in early, and much of San Diego was a short bus ride away. Now if we had just had a little more sunshine! But hey, Steve can’t control that one :)

A charming place nestled in the heart of nature. Super comfy bed, lots of natural light to let the sunshine in, and I loved opening up the windows to hear the birds, quiet little coo from the chickens - very quiet and soothing. The hosts are an absolute delight. I am very much looking forward to my next visit!

The cottage was perfect for us. And even though it’s right on Mission Blvd., we didn’t find it loud at all. It’s steps away from the beach on the bay side and just across the street from the ocean side. As is normal for the area, the garage is very small. We have a Hyundai Ioniq 5 - it fit just perfect with not much space to spare. It wasn’t really warm enough to enjoy the patio. We didn’t use the air conditioner or the fireplace on the inside either. The ceiling fans were enough for air movement. Great place overall!

To me, this place was outstanding. I really like the Kensington neighborhood in San Diego. This particular place was quiet, clean, comfortable, and convenient. It’s easy to get to just about any place you want to go. The hosts were very responsive, even when I asked silly questions like “how to manage the volume on the TV”. You do need to be aware of the stairs to get to the bed (noted in the listing). I actually left my suitcase downstairs and just brought clothes up as needed (not a deal breaker for me). This location is really what I expect from an Airbnb.

A perfect place for a weekend getaway! It truly is in a prime location. Everything is easily walkable. Safe neighborhood. So many phenomenal restaurants to choose from. George was an excellent host. Hotel quality linens. Clean. With plenty of amenities to make it feel like home. We would easily stay here again.

The Crows Nest met all my expectations and then some. The condo had everything we could ever need for a short trip, and the location was ideal. We were only in town for the weekend for a friend's wedding, but I will absolutely save Alicia's place for future trips.

I found this place after an extensive search for a reasonably priced rental that was near the water and also accommodating to my party of 3. The cottage itself is quite nice and very clean, with comfortable furnishings, and a great location. Ken and Bri are very gracious hosts, communicating with them was very easy and they made sure my daughters and I were comfortable throughout our short, but wonderful stay. I think this is one of the most pleasant AirBNB stays I have had over the years. Definitely going to keep this one for future rentals!

We had a wonderful stay! The location was perfect just a short walk to the beach, which made everything so easy with our toddler. Judy really thought of everything: from bedside chargers with USB ports to extra towels, bedding, and a full set of beach gear. The space was clean, cozy, and incredibly well-stocked. Our toddler especially loved the adjustable play furniture such a thoughtful touch! We’d absolutely stay here again.

Janet & Scott, and the Mission Beach Villas staff were excellent hosts, very well organized and professional, and very quick to respond. The house was awesome, but the location was even better and is the top reason I chose it. San Diego is of course a beautiful town, and Mission Beach is amazing - I wish I could live there. But the best thing is the house is a minutes walk away from both the ocean and the bay, and you can't get that in many places. And I mean literally less than 1 minute walk to the bay and maybe 2 to the ocean. And both the ocean and the bay sides have these awesome long paved walkways, perfect for biking and walking - another reason why I chose it. Thanks Janet & Scott 😃
