“This is a tremendous fishing cabin, you're there to get away and FISH! We spent a week here and had an amazing time, Abe was super helpful and responsive, he checked in to make sure we were well situated. The place was very clean, the AC worked super awesome especially for south Texas summer heat. We had great wifi and were able to even work a bit and do video conferencing and Netflix, the shower had hot water and beds were super comfortable. What makes this place especially awesome is the deck and crab traps, I've never done this before and it was a blast, we caught enough crab to make two dinners out of it! We caught a bunch of reds and hardheads, there are 3x bait shops are in the town of "Rio Hondo" on Marshall Hutts Rd. going toward "Adolph Thomae County Park" they don't show up on a google search easily, speaking with the the bait store folks most fish with frozen shrimp and a simple "texas rig" with a treble hook and light tackle and then there are plenty of reds and sheepheads around the river. Night fishing was a blast too, overall this is a great place to get away, fish, read/hang out, grill out, and fish some more! Abe is a fantastic host.”
