Chained Oak Farm is located directly opposite Alton Towers theme park and is set in its own grounds of 24 acres of woodland. The Lodge overlooks the churnet valley; the views are magnificent designated as 'an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.
“We had a great 2 nights stay in the lodge. It was lovely and clean, heated up very quickly with the radiator and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. Great location for Alton towers, just a 10min walk across the field and no worry about queueing or paying for the car park. We also visited Bakewell on recommendation from Liz which was beautiful and the scenery in general was stunning. We had the most delicious cooked breakfast on both mornings courtesy of Liz and her husband, couldn’t have asked for any more! Thanks for a great stay!”

“Eirwen place is cosy and warm and was perfect for the couples mountain biking trip we had in mind, it is conveniently located approx 15 mins from the cannock chase MTB trails (trails for all abilities - we did several days on these; Follow the Dog, Monkey Trail and Stile Cop DH trails). Eirwen was easy to contact and had quick responses to any queries we had. She offered safe and secure storage for our bikes over night which a lot of places don't have and the accommodation was perfect, the bed was comfortable and the shower was very spacious. The breakfast options were also very good with daily replenishment of anything you had used up/running low of. Eirwen was very approachable and recommended some places to eat out and local supermarkets. We will definitely consider coming back here again, we had a great time. Thank you :)”
The Old Shippon is a super little self - catering cottage for 2 situated in the glorious Peak District .A cosy secluded retreat with wood- burner, fully equipped kitchen, private garden and secure off road drive parking. Stunning views and walks from the door; the famous Dovedale easily accessible straight from the cottage. NEW FOR 2020 cycles available for quiet country lanes and close by cycling trails( or if you bring your own we have a secure bike store) A very warm welcome awaits!
“We had a lovely stay at the cottage. There was plenty of walks straight from the cottage to keep us busy for a few days (there are written directions in the cottage), which is what we came for. If we were to stay longer than the 4 nights we stayed I think we would have ventured out a bit and driven to other locations to explore a bit more, but it was really nice that there was enough locally that we didn't need to do that. The cottage itself had everything we needed. A well equipped kitchen; and also having Netflix on the TV was a plus. Audrey was a wonderful host. Very helpful and responsive to messages. The cottage is just behind Audrey's home, so she was nearby most of the time if needed, but we definitely felt that we had our own private space in the cottage.”
