Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Shaldon

The Lair is a lovely Air BnB close enough to the coast and Salcombe to enjoy the area, but far enough away to avoid the crowds (and price tag!). We ate there a couple of nights and the kitchen facilities were great. Walkable (but uphill) from Hope Cove where we had sourdough pizza on the beach from a local converted horse trailer. The garden is fully enclosed which was brilliant - so nice to be able to let the dog out for a wee without having to wander around in PJs and slippers in public with him on a lead! The car parking is also within the enclosed space so letting the dog in and out of the car was also convenient and safe. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit the South Devon coast.

Trystan was an incredibly kind and helpful host, really accommodating and went out of his way to make sure all of the kiddies were happy and comfortable. If you’re looking for child friendly accommodation this is it, there is every kind of toy and car available for the kids to play with, very easy and a fun house to stay in. Beautiful gardens and a great location.

This property’s location is perfect, whether you want to stay on-site and enjoy the vistas of Dartmouth or use it as a base to thoroughly explore the environs. It’s only a short walk into Kingswear, where there is a car or foot ferry to get across to Dartmouth or the steam train which will take you to Paignton. Communication with Mark was thorough during every stage of the booking and stay. The accommodation is divine and we’ve rarely slept so well; a combination of the Savoir bed and serenity within this hillside property. Nothing about the host, property or location could be faulted; exemplary in every aspect.

I was staying for work purposes so cannot comment on what there is to do nearby etc, there is a cafe directly opposite unfortunately I was unable to try it as I was setting out before they opened and I only got back once when they were still open but only 10 minutes before they closed lol. Tim's place is like the photos, it was very warm weather and whilst the porch got hot inside stayed cool which was appreciated :). Tea and Coffee with a small amount of milk was provided, which after a long drive was appreciated. A thick folder is provided with lots of local information. WiFi was great which I needed for work purposes, the shower was great and the bed was very comfy which my back can cause issues but not here, there were even sensor lights in the bedroom and hall which came on with movement which helps when it's not your home lol (I have learnt this and bring my own which I did not need to use). I would recommend and I hope to stay again when next working in the area.

A delightful secluded residence facing out over farmland. Although there is a farm and there are homes in converted farm buildings close by, you would hardly know they were there; the property has a separate entrance to the main farm that it shares with one other dwelling, which again you would hardly know was there. The property is as described and well equipped. Although the garden is very small, this is not really a problem with so much open countryside on the doorstep. Rich George was very helpful, responding quickly to our queries before arrival and welcoming us warmly with helpful advice when we got there but otherwise leaving us to enjoy our holiday. The climbing roses surrounding the decked area were divine. We can recommend North Sands beach as a paradise for dogs if they like the water; our visit was in early June and, on all but one occasion, we managed to park in one of the four road side parking spaces at the top of the beach (free for 2 hours) rather than pay to use

We wanted to get away from it all in a part of Dartmoor we hadn't been to before and Steve's place seemed to fit the bill. When we got there, we found that it more than met our expectations! The Barn was exactly what we were looking for: a wonderful peaceful location and extremely comfortable and very well-equipped accommodation. The big selling point for us was the fact that the Barn was on lots of well-mapped walks, so that we could go on lovely walks in all directions without having to get in the car. Steve and Tessa were the perfect hosts; they made us feel most welcome and we found we had a lot in common. We very much enjoyed our short stay and look forward to returning to the Barn before long to explore the area further.

Nicky was super helpful with our booking and me changing things at the last moment. Loved the place and the views and lovely little pub just down the road.

We have had a fantastic stay. Perfect location for our family of 4 (including baby and toddler) the accommodation was absolutely spotless & I was more than happy to let my baby crawl around. Things included like stair gate/highchair/travel cot were amazing when you already have a very packed car. Blackout blinds in both bedroom saved us from our normal 5am starts! We got lots of use from the swimming pool & outdoor play area. The roads are small and windy but with google maps we didn't find it to be a problem at all. We will definitely return!

We had such a wonderful stay at your beautiful property — everything was absolutely perfect, and I truly appreciated how thoughtful and welcoming you both were. Your quick responses made everything so easy, and the beautiful birthday basket you left for me was such a kind and unexpected gesture that really made my day. This is a very special spot. The farm is made up of the main house and several beautifully converted stone barns with generous balconies overlooking a stunning field and river. They are beautifully decorated, very comfortable and homely spaces that show the real care and thought of the owners who have done all the work themselves. The pool is amazing, with rotating 2 hour slots given to each barn every day. We would love to stay again and would recommend it to friends and family in a heartbeat.

Absolutely stunning place. Louise was the perfect host answering every question I asked. The pool was a great hit with us adults and of course the children. The farm tour was lovely and Louise was very understanding when my little boy had a nose bleed whilst feeding the calves. I would highly recommend a stay at The Grange!

The mobile home is comfortable and well equipped, sited in a prime location with lovely sea views. The caravan site is well maintained with good facilities and in an ideal location to access the coast path and rocky cove below. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and fully recommend.

It was a privilege to stay in this beautiful family home. The location was sublime, peaceful and idyllic. The quirky access was amusing and great to be so close to the Ferry Boat Inn. The house had everything you could wish for and more!

Thyme cottage was such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. The cottage is characterful and comfortable and well equipped. The fireplace was a wonderful, warm touch. The village of Woodbury Salterton is charming and friendly and close to Exeter. The Diggers Rest is a must! Stop in for a friendly pint or even better for a meal. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Thyme cottage will be among our top stays.

We had a wonderful stay here in Shaldon. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. It was a great location within walking distance of the village, beach and ferry to Teignmouth. The village itself is beautiful and we loved discovering Ness Cove beach and crabbing in Teignmouth. The beds were super comfy and Carlisle was really understanding and flexible with dates following my daughter's hospital stay which caused a lot of stress before we came. We will definitely recommend and visit again as a great base for a lovely break in the area.

This place is one of the best places I have ever stayed. It gave me the space to relax, get to the beach, walk, and be surrounded by more varied wildlife than I've seen in a whole year! It's in the return folder for when I can next do it. Thank you to Sue and David, who were so welcoming and lovely.

Perfect for young families. We had everything we needed. Jon and Jo were super responsive and made us feel right at home. We would defintely stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at the cottage and really enjoyed exploring Shaldon whilst we were there for a wedding nearby. A really lovely air bnb experience!!

I enjoyed my stay at Cooks cottage. I found it to be clean, comfortable with all the mod cons that you might need. The cottage provided peace and quiet and privacy which was most welcome. Very good nights sleep was had due to good quality bed and linen. It was pleasant to awake to a dawn chorus of songbirds from the rear enclosed garden. Blackbirds, Robins, Dunnocks and Wrens were evident among the mossy surrounds. At the end of my stay I felt refreshed with my wellbeing much improved.
