This house has a beautiful view of the lake!! The complementary water activity’s are worth booking!! We enjoyed our stay and will come back!! Make sure to walk out on the dock at night and look at the stars!!

Awesome place! Easy to find and awesome location. Shower was hot quickly. Bed was firm (which we love). Would go there again!

It’s a lovely cabin, the hot tub is a plus. It’s also fairly private since it’s last cabin of the property.

We had a great two nights here and enjoyed the hot soak and the sauna. It was near many amenities and also felt very removed. Matt’s was attentive without being intrusive, making sure our stay was perfect and the escape we hoped it would be.

Adorable cottage, newly renovated. Perfect for two with an open space loft for one more. Kitchen is well stocked right down to the coffee. A good location if visiting Fort Knox, Mt. Barrie and not too far from Bar Harbor if that is on your list. Great stay, highly recommend. Beautiful view and private.

We had a very relaxing vacation. Verona Island is convenient for day trips to a number of attractions like Acadia, Camden and even Monhegan Island. Even when the weather was bad there was plenty of table space for puzzling, Bananagrams and Scrabble. The house was comfortable with views of the Penobscot River.

The Open Hearth Inn is a lovely place! We stayed in a cottage, but there is also the main lodge, complete with The Most Amazing Jacuzzi ever, open 24/7. I particularly appreciated that OHI opens their laundry facility to their guests in the evening. The location is convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia, with grassy areas for picnicking and restaurants close by. Our cottage was charming, with a little kitchenette and a very comfortable bed. Temperature is heat-pump controlled which worked fine for us (heat pumps are pretty standard in the north east and eastern Canada). Good communication and easy access, too!

We’ve stayed in a lot of Airbnbs across the country and I’m not exaggerating when I say that Lydia’s place was one of the cleanest and most well-maintained homes that we’ve been in. The property and scenery are breathtaking. The numbers of birds and chipmunks that entertained us while we sat on the back deck was surprising. We ate all of our meals with the exception of lunches at the cabin and had everything we needed to prep and cook our food. This trip was all about relaxing and Lydia’s home was everything we needed.

The location was perfect for our trip. The house it self was extremely clean and lots of space for us to hang out and also have our space. Close to Acadia which we visited Saturday and the house was a great distance to enjoy the day without staying in town! The amenities were in great condition and everything in the listing was there. I would definitely stay again.

Absolutely loved our stay here! If you're someone who enjoys being close to nature and traveling with your dog, this place is perfect. The surroundings are peaceful and green. Fabiola was super friendly and made everything easy from check-in to check-out. The house rules were clear and straightforward, which made the whole experience stress-free. We felt really welcomed and comfortable the entire time. All in all, a great stay—we’d definitely come back!

This was great cozy, cottage. We we were pleasantly surprised! The inside was very nicely decorated and was definitely enough space for my husband and I, and our two dogs. It was so nice to relax enjoy a sunset and make a fire in the fire pit after a long day. We were greeted by the welcome committee (black cat) numerous times. The cottage had everything we needed. My dog really enjoyed swimming in the lake. Thanks so much and we would definitely consider staying here again

What a cool house! Very unassuming from the pictures. It's like a time capsule -- shag carpet, retro wallpaper, vintage fixtures and paneling. Although old, everything was clean upon arrival. I love old things so I enjoyed the aesthetic, although for someone with heavy allergies or sensitivities, the age and moisture may be something to consider. That being said, I have chronic allergies and sinusitis and I would 100% stay here again. The property itself is the focal point and the draw. It's set on a point of the cove where you can hear and see the seals in the distance, and you feel like you're on an island. While we were there, the sun came up at 4:30 every morning and we were out on the back deck at 4:45 with coffee in hand. So peaceful and serene! Use of their kayaks and life vests was an added bonus -- note to self, the islands in the distance are further than they look!! :) The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, and we enjoyed the use of the back grill. Lovely home!

Tucked in the woods of Orrington, Maine, this lakeside retreat offers a rare kind of stillness. Facing south on the water’s edge, it provides serene views of both sunrise and sunset that frame each day in quiet beauty. Wildlife is abundant, loons echo across the lake and deer move gently through the trees, yet the home is only a short drive from Bangor’s restaurants, trails, and conveniences. We initially booked for three nights but quickly extended to four. This place invites lingering. It’s easy to settle into the rhythm of the land, the lake, and the quiet. Inside, the home is curated with care including a lovely vinyl collection; late night jazz and morning classical set the perfect tone for slow coffee and reflection. The host was responsive and thoughtful throughout, making everything seamless. We will absolutely return and recommend this home to anyone seeking not just a place to stay, but a space to truly be.

Such an absolutely magical place to stay! My pup and I stayed for a month while I worked and played. Gorgeous views of the Beech Hill Pond and close enough to various towns for hiking, sightseeing and enjoying local food. Spent time on Deer Isle, MDI at Bar Harbour & Acadia, and even made the trek to Lubec. if you want to experience a wee bit of winter and early spring, mid to late March into April was the perfect time. We had a few inches of snow fall within the first few days of the trip. Don't hesitate to book this cottage!

Lovely space and close to Acadia! Had everything we needed!

It’s very difficult to apply a price to the experience available at the Cottage By the Sea. The cottage is literally on the sea. The cottage is very cute, and well setup for cooking, eating, contemplating. I was enthralled watching the tides, the various birds, and occasional porpoises. We love to cook and make our food. Leslie recommended many amazing local sources for all types of local food including oysters, clams, lobsters, and traditional farm fare. We appreciate the dog friendly approach but would advise folks that the stairs are steep and were difficult for our medium sized dog.

The house was exactly what you want when booking an Airbnb. The host has it well stocked with the items you want to be available to you when you get there. Matt was very responsive and helpful if you have any questions. The location is beautiful. If I’m ever in the area I would definitely book again!

It was definitely the peaceful, non-touristy part of the island, which was what we wanted. Access to Bar Harbor and Acadia was easy. Appreciated 2 bedrooms.

Mary’s place was perfect for our Acadia vacation. It was clean and spacious for our family of 3. The view was beautiful and very peaceful. Definitely recommend!!

This is our second stay at The Moorings. We stay in Lookout Front Cottage both times. The cottage is charming and the view is just gorgeous! We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the screened in porch was the perfect location to watch the fireworks on July 4th! We will definitely be back again.

Wow! I mean, my wife and I didn't want to leave. We met Robin at check-in and she was just a delight! We talked to her and her husband Bob a few other times and they're such fantastic people. They gave us some amazing recommendations for hikes and restaurants and we left wanting more (which says a lot!). We usually leave AirBnBs wanting to go home but this place and the people who own it are special and an absolute treat! The Little Cabin was outstanding and provided everything we needed. The GORGEOUS bay view took a good chunk of our time. The Northern Lights were very strong our last night and we were fortunate enough to see a Seal and Porpoise! Next time we come this way, we won't hesitate to apply to stay here again. Seriously a great stay! Thank you for offering these cabins to stay in!

Karen's cottage was perfect for a weekend getaway in Acadia National Park. It was removed from Bar Harbor and the elevated tourism over there. Karen had a book with local food recommendations that was amazing. We ate at 2 restaurants in Tremont that were good enough to compete anywhere in the world (Harbor Table & Clark Pointe Cafe).

We absolutely loved our stay at the A-Frame! The house is located on the Quiet Side of the Island on a private secluded road that was so peaceful. We really enjoyed the property which included a large backyard and looked out over the water, both the sunrises and the sunsets from here were incredible. Erin's home was clean, well decorated and had all the amenities we needed for our stay, we felt right at home the entire week we stayed. Although it was only my husband and I with our two dogs, the home was large enough for a family and had plenty of space to hang out and enjoy. We really loved how close it was to Southwest Harbor where we enjoyed the restaurants and shopping as well as walking around. We were also able to explore Acadia National Park which was under a thirty minute drive from here and very easy to access. We would highly recommend Erin's home to anyone visiting the area!
