Family-friendly holiday rentals in Spittal an der Drau

We had a wonderful week. The cottage run by Maikel and Britt is beautiful and very well located in a medium mountain setting (1350 m) located at the foot of the Hochkönig in a bucolic and relaxing setting. Maikel and Britt are very welcoming and friendly, always present for good advice. The cottage is very clean, spacious, well-equipped and tastefully decorated. The sauna is very useful after a good walk. The village of Mühlbarch am Hochkönig is located downstairs 5 km away in a small valley in the center of many hikes and also a family ski resort. We would recommend it.

We spent 6 days in the apartment, everything you need was there, including towels and bathrobes. The apartment was clean and the view was gigantic. There is a very tasty pizzeria, Lärchenhof, nearby. You can use all the amenities of the hotel, such as pools, sauna, entertainment for kids, etc. Bread service or half board/full board can also be booked individually. The guest card offers many discounts. We found the stay very nice and will definitely come back! Our kids would have liked to just stay there ;) thanks for the great time!

We feel lucky to have stayed at this house—the views really are just as stunning as they are in the pictures. Boža and Dušan were very welcoming and we had everything we needed to really settle in for a few nights—the kitchen, for example, was very well furnished with all sorts of practical implements for real cooking (i.e. not just a few dull knives and a single ladle rattling around in otherwise empty drawers). We really appreciated the house's easy access to Italy, Austria, and of course the rest of northwestern Slovenia—it offers a great combination of dramatic mountain views and easy road access (so no daredevil driving up and down steep and rocky rural roads every time you want to get some groceries). I'm sure the house is lovely in all seasons, but it was especially enjoyable to take a dip in the jacuzzi with an overnight frost settling in and then cozy up by the fireplace inside.

We had a great stay at the house - it was our first trip to Slovenia and staying in such a beautiful location made it even better. The hot tub was amazing but be warned it does take a good few hours to heat up and when we were there, there was only logs to get the fire going, we had to buy news paper and firestarters, so just bear in mind that a trip to Bovec may be necessary. Only other thing to mention was when we checked out we struggled to find the waste bin the host mentioned that was up the hill - the nearest other bin place didn’t do general waste (recycling etc only) so we had to drive a little bit with the black bag in the car. Otherwise though it was amazing and would definitely recommend.

We had the most amazing stay in this chalet. It was very clean and well equipped for a very relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The scenery is beautiful and I would 100% recommend staying here to anyone. The family are very friendly and we loved the sheep surrounding the property fence, they were so fun to watch. The accommodation is perfect! There are all kinds of amenities, enough space and everything is clean. The sauna and jacuzzi are an absolute highlight and very easy to use. The accommodation is super cozy. I can recommend it to everyone.

We - a family of 4 with 2 children (11 and 7) plus grandma & grandpa - enjoyed the 5 days in Mirko's chalet to the fullest! The house is great and keeps what the pictures promise. The children loved the hot pot and spent every free minute at the nearby wildlife enclosure. On the last evening, we were able to admire the solstice fires on the opposite mountain ridges. We enjoyed the tranquility very much. The nearest supermarket is just a few kilometers away by car. The house and the kitchen are super equipped, nothing is missing! We can only highly recommend the chalet and will be happy to come back! Mirko is a great host who responds super fast to messages. Thank you so much for the hospitality!

Could not think of a more perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Bled. Incredibly easy check in, super responsive and helpful host, and the place was very quiet and cozy. If I ever find myself back in Bled, this will be at the top of my list!

We felt very comfortable in the apartment, the amenities were good. Also the location was great. Every now and then the neighbors were a little loud in the morning, the walls are relatively thin, but otherwise it is pleasantly quiet.

Absolutely beautiful, quiet place. Very quick and thorough communication and the hut had everything we needed. The sauna is wonderful. We (and our dog) loved our week here and would love to stay here again in the future.

Wonderful host and a beautiful place – it had everything we could have wished for. The lake was especially stunning; we loved spending time swimming and taking boat trips. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house near Lake Bled. The host met us upon arrival, gave us a warm welcome, and shared recommendations for exploring the area. We also rented electric bikes from him, which was a great way to discover the surroundings. The house itself was very comfortable and well‑equipped — we especially enjoyed the grill, which was a nice addition for making dinner. The host also organized a rafting trip for us, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. All in all, this was the best accommodation we stayed in during our trip, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. We would love to return!

Elizabeth’s apartment is very unique and beautifully decorated. It is exactly like in the pictures and very clean. We loved the stay and would definitely book it again.

Beautiful, peaceful mountain cabin with lots of indoor and outdoor space. We enjoyed our quiet evenings on the balcony overlooking the small village with cats and children frolicking around. The kids loved the “crow’s nest” up the ladder on the top floor. Great location in between Bled and Bohinj. The drive up and down the mountain can be a bit scary, but worth it. Marjana was very helpful and responsive, and even helped us navigate an alternative route down the mountain when the main road was closed for construction. Her parents, were very friendly upon check-in, showing us around the beautiful home they built. I highly recommend this place to any family looking for a peaceful mountain retreat.

Elke's apartment is enchanting. It looks smaller in the pictures than it really is. Very nicely furnished, and everything you need is there. The very large terrace and the garden area are particularly nice. The church bells are loud, but they are turned off at night so you can sleep well. The Billa supermarket is a few minutes' walk away. There are great restaurants and cafes. You can park perfectly right in front of the house. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. For dog owners: the Wörthersee is unfortunately not so dog-friendly. The beach resorts do not allow dogs. There is an official dog beach only in Klagenfurt, but it is very small. We also let our dog into the water in Pörtschach, but it is not allowed.

Very nice base to explore Ljubljana. Nice and generous house, beautiful garden, everything is furnished with care, we lacked nothing. Excellent value for money too.

After a little struggle with finding the place, not really the fault of the host's directions, the reward was enormous. not a big space but the views were astonishing. The space was adequate, with functional kitchen and amenities and beautifully presented, but it was the outside which makes this place amazing. We didn't want to leave and neither will you.

Amazing couple of days stay in Most Na Soci. Property was sizeable and had all the utilities we needed. Host was amazing and was kind enough to give us a lift too and from the train station when we arrived and departed. Couldn’t recommend more!

The apartment fully corresponds to the photos in the listing, it is located on the 3rd floor and grants a superb view of the lake from a side balcony, which can be reached in 2 minutes from the apartment. The arrival was hassle-free and the reception staff very accommodating. The pool and the sun loungers on the jetty can also be used. Overall a great stay, the contact with Eberhard was uncomplicated, he responds immediately to questions

Absolutely amazing mountain hut in stunning scenery. Teresa and Stefan have put in loads of work so that you can get back to basics, slow down and live it up in natural luxury! Thoroughly recommend Danke schon!
