Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Sunderland

We had not been to the area before but were delighted with the accommodation and with Cullercoats. The cottage was stylish and luxurious, ticking all the boxes for a really comfortable bed, great shower, well-equipped, excellent kitchen and everything you needed for a short stay or a longer one. The upstairs ensuite bedroom had a lovely sea view and was really peaceful. The downstairs double room and separate bathroom were practical as we had family visiting. The neighbourhood was quiet and friendly and the location was superb - the cottage was minutes from the beach, a small supermarket and the Metro. You could walk from the door into Whitley Bay or Tynemouth. The beach was excellent and we swam in the sea. The coastal pathway between Whitley Bay and North Shields with its separate cycle lanes will be a wonderful asset and parts of it are already completed. We settled in really well and very quickly and were a bit sad to leave. Thank you to Vikki.

Had a great stay at Tom’s place, after a 5 hour drive we approached Durham and received a message letting us know the property was all ready and waiting for us which was a real bonus. We were really impressed by how spacious the bedrooms were, and the shower and bath were amazing too. Kitchen was well stocked for us to enjoy a drink before heading out into Newcastle for the day. Fantastic stay, felt like a home from home. Lovely garden, good parking, well-located for shops and places to eat, near to beaches and just generally a great place to stay. Great communication from start to finish. Would highly recommend!

The house had all you’d need for a nice stay in Durham. 10 mins walk into town and to the train station. The bedrooms are small but cost and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped with the tools, utensils etc and also with some basic condiments which were helpful. The trains going past right opposite the house almost melt into the background after a while but might bother some. Overall, an excellent home that delivers.

We had a lovely time. The house was very nice and well worth the money. There was lots to do around the area and further afield. Melanie was very helpful and responded immediately to any questions. An excellent place to stay to explore the North East!

This house is absolutely insane. The photos do not do it justice, it’s stunning. We came for a hen weekend. we were not there to party, we wanted a chilled weekend and that is what we got. All the rooms are absolutely stunning. We were overwhelmed how nice the house was. The gym, hot tub and sauna just adds to how great the house is. I can’t forget the games room upstairs, that was an added bonus too and was just amazing. I would 100% recommend this house for any families or friends wanting a nice chilled weekend. Mark and Sarah are always there either by email or phone and are quick to sort out any issues. Each room is clean and stunning ready for you arriving. What an amazing house. We were all gutted to leave as it was so lovely. Will definitely be going back.

Very pleased with this stay and Anna the host. Flexible check in and proactive communication. Wonderfully quiet cottage in a peaceful location. We will definitely be staying here again.

Stuart’s place was within walking distance (albeit uphill) from the train station and City Centre. It was pristine and modern with great amenities. We loved our stay and we recommend the Duke of Wellington pub, just ten minutes’ walk down the road!

We had a great stay at Ian’s place for two nights. The home is very comfortable and quiet yet next to the High St in Hexham. There are lots of extras provided in the house that makes it feel like a home. Everything is on one level which makes it an easy stay and there are two good sized bathrooms. Note to enter the main bedroom you must walk through one of the bathrooms. The other room has an ensuite bathroom. Ian is a great host and gave us lots of helpful information about check in etc.

We stayed at Fiona’s place for a wedding at Middleton Lodge and will definitely be back again! The flat was the perfect size for the two of us and was extremely well presented, clean and tidy. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful; the perfect escape! Fiona was super helpful and very responsive to messages. Check in and check out was super easy using the lock box. We’d love to return in the autumn or winter to get the fire burning for a relaxing, cosy break. Thank you for having us!

Gorgeous, stylish and comfortable flat in a great location for exploring the city. Everything has been thought about: the interior design, the kitchen equipment, the parking permits and the coffee pods, and everything was comfortable and stress free. Spotlessly clean, impeccable comms and a really friendly welcome. There is some road noise, so if you're not normally a city dweller, you could be disturbed. Wasn't a problem for us - highly recommend.

Linda's apartment was just perfect for our stay. Absolutely spotless, everything you could possibly want was available. Great location, 5 minute walk to the Metro then just 3 stops into the city centre or a little bit longer to the coast. Linda was lovely, very welcoming with great communication. Absolutely 5*. The Nook is lovely. It has everything you need. The beds are extremely comfortable, the shower is like having a massage - excellent water pressure! Everything is spotlessly clean. I wish I’d had more time to explore further, but I really enjoyed just walking around Gainford. The reserved parking spot just across the way is a real bonus. Chris is an excellent host, very quick to reply to queries and happy to share local knowledge and recommendations. If I’m passing that way again, I will definitely be booking in.
