Cottage holiday rentals in Surf City

We wanted something close to Camp Lejeune and not too far from the beach and this place checked both those boxes. Clean and quiet yet not too far from restaurants and shops. It was a very peaceful and relaxing getaway. Carol was an amazing host.

We so enjoyed our stay in this quiet and peaceful home! It was the perfect get away and very kid friendly! The backyard is fenced and the whole place is clean and nicely decorated! About 15 minutes to the beach and 25 minutes to downtown, overall a wonderful stay! 5/5

This was an absolutely perfect Topsail vacation home! We loved every minute of our stay. The location is absolutely fantastic. So close to the little local shops and restaurants as well as super close to the bridge going over to the mainland.. The house itself was spotless and quite comfortable. Had everything we needed to cook full meals. Plenty of kitchenware for our group of seven. Proximity to the beach is by far the most fantastic detail of this house! The little private sandy beach *yard* attached to the deck is awesome for kids and the beach itself just down a few steps is so amazing. We could even sit in bed and see the ocean waves! This is the best house with beach access and views we've stayed at in Topsail. Also positive to note, the entire property being fenced in felt incredibly safe for kids and was fantastic for our dog. We realized the apartment was a part of the rental unit and we were so pleasantly surprised! It was a great separate space! Overall highly recommend!

It was asolutely beautiful here! after booking, we were so excited to hear they installed extras on the property and we got to enjoy a fire pit as well as the jacuzzi. easy drive to the beach and local stores and shops to entertain everyone. I would definitely come back with my littles next time, there was a lot to accommodate children! the only issue I had was unlocking the door and even though it was 1am, I was able to get someone on the phone to let me inside. wonderful stay!! 10/10

Our family loved this house and location - plenty of room, easy walk to the beach, tennis courts out back, friendly neighbors, easy access to restaurants and stores. Jim was responded quickly when we asked for help with supplies. The spring pollen factor was high - so be ready! We washed the decks and chairs and that improved things. We will return!

I absolutely adore this cute little beach house. It was a perfect best friend get away. I felt like I was staging in a beach cottage straight off hgtv. My only suggestion is a full length mirror for the females! Definitely would stay here again.

Mallory & John were both very friendly, quick to respond and accommodating to our check in needs and questions throughout the stay. The home was clean and well equipped. Perfect for my family and only 10 mins from the beach! The kids loved the pool and backyard space for fishing, running around and relaxing in the hammocks. My only suggestion would be to pack bug spray for the back yard since you are near the lake (the mosquitoes loved us!) and to be prepared for a bit of a bumpy ride into the neighborhood as there are many potholes in the gravel road leading up to the house. Not a complaint and not the hosts fault of course. Just want to help! We would stay here again :)

Upon arrival I imagined the house being a cute cottage near the beach. However the house is designed very open and felt really big! It also has a huge backyard, so you could bring a pet. The house is maybe a 3 minute walk to the beach and is on a very quiet street. Angela is a phenomenal host who was able to accommodate us for some technical errors that occurred at the house. I will definitely plan my next stay here if the house is available.

Incredibly friendly and courteous host, who included not only the basic amenities, but coffee/tea, body wash/shampoo, water filtration pitcher, and herbs/spices. Our host kept in contact throughout the stay with helpful info about the location. Great location, within walking distance of historic houses, museums, shops, and the river, but in an easily accessible area with very light vehicle traffic. A short drive from Wal-Mart, the ocean, the boardwalk, as well as just about any kind of restaurant you could think of.

This was our 1st experience in an Airbnb. Due to a water pipe break at our house it became our "Home away from home" for 3 mos. A definite 5+ rating. We celebrated the end of winter & beginning of spring & summer with different flowers arriving as the seasons changed. Gorgeous azaleas, irises, gladiolas, etc. banana plants all coming back to life. The cottage is very clean & inviting. The kitchen is well supplied, the beds are very comfortable, the front & backyard well kept & perfect for our 15 yr. old dog. There are beach toys, floats, beach chairs etc, for beach enjoyment. Our hosts, Jonny and Britt, added so many extra touches to make one’s stay special. They are superb hosts, gracious, attentive, & caring, with a great sense of humor, and "Jonny" on the spot when a need arises. We would recommend 114 Hawthorne to anyone for a relaxing get away to enjoy all Historic Wilmington & the Beaches have to offer. Thanks Jonny & Britt for everything! It couldn't have been better.

Another great weekend at Sherryl’s place and it’s starting to feel like home. Great location with a close walk to the beach, seafood market, breakfast restaurants, and more. We will be back!

The house was clean and inviting. Enough room for my whole family and dog. Alot of extra things that was there that I did not have to worry about buying, like beach towels, other beach stuff, cleaning products, dog bowls etc. Backyard was perfect for my dog, I did not have to worry about letting her out and getting out. I would definitely stay again if back in Wilmington.

Sharon was a great host, very responsive to any questions we had and gave us some recommendations. The house was perfect for my wife and I, very clean, great outside deck and close to the river. We stayed here because it was close to our expedition to the Three Sisters. Check in and out was very easy and we were able to check in a bit early. Will stay here again the next time we are in the area.

This is cute cottage only a 3 min walk to the ocean. There was also restaurants and a store you could walk to. Also a very nice fishing pier. We drove to fort fisher which was really neat. Rode the fairy to Southport. Drove to Carolina beach for the day. There was lots to do.

Perfect Surf City/Topsail home. The house was well stocked and felt like home. Great water pressure and ample hot water in both bathrooms. Nice outdoor living space as well. Only one block from beach! Walkable to several shops/restaurants and only 5 min drive down to the round-about (busy) area of Surf City. Quiet location, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

We loved this place! It was extremely clean & easy access to the beach, grocery stores, restaurants, etc.

The cottage was absolutely perfect, it felt like home from the moment we walked in. So peaceful and private, with thoughtful touches that made our stay extra special. We especially loved the outdoor shower and the back porch; the perfect spot to relax in the evenings. The fenced-in backyard was a huge plus for our family, and the quiet neighborhood made everything feel calm and restful. The beach was just a short, easy walk away, and the directions provided by the host made it even more enjoyable. There was so much to see and explore along the way , it was a little adventure for both us and the kids. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay! Thank you 😊

The Tin Roof Cottage was a terrific place for our stay. The location was very quiet and tucked away from the crowds at the beach. The drive to the beach was very easy. The cottage provided all the basic amenities which was very convenient. I would highly recommend!

What a wonderful home, location and host! Everything was absolutely top quality, and so many extra touches! We used the kayaks, fire pit (firewood provided!), ping pong table… easy walk to the beach too! Hope to stay again.

Benny's place was exactly as described. We stayed here for Thanksgiving, and it was the perfect spot for our family. We brought our boat and appreciated the convenience of being able to launch it right from the ramp. The location was easy to find, and we had no trouble accessing the house. The property was clean, tidy, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Benny was a great host, easy to communicate with, and made sure we had everything we needed for a fantastic experience.

We had a great visit to Stephanie's place. The house was extremely spacious and very charming. It's walking distance to Southport mainstreet, and also a children's playground a short walk through the park. All of the waterfront restaurants are also within walking distance. Oak Island ocean beaches are a 15 minute drive. We would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to stay in the heart of downtown Southport.
