Mark is the best! He owns the cabins, operates the restaurants and flies the helicopter tours too! Room is clean and enough space for 5 of us. Multiples trails right behind the cabins to explore on your own. He even lends us free bear spray. But the best part is the restaurant next door -- the food is amazing! We had two dinners and one breakfast there and they were so tasty. This place is a gem in glacier view, highly recommend it.

What a great place! Friendly and helpful staff, clean, excellent restaurant (highly recommend the carrot cake!) and incredible hiking trails. Will definitely be back!

We stayed two nights at the Inn. It was perfectly located to go for a guided tour of Matanuska Glacier, which was our reason for stopping in that area. The host, Mark, was very helpful. The accommodations were clean and we enjoyed eating at the restaurant, too. Great food and the staff was great. It was busy, but everyone was working so hard to make the guests happy.

It was a beautiful place to stay and in the morning we saw sheep on the mountain from our cabin. The private helicopter tour was AMAZING. It was an experience I will never forget. Mark was down to earth and knowledgeable about the area. He took us to spots so we saw all that we wanted to. Highly recommend you splurge for a flight.

Robin’s place was exactly what my wife and I needed. The view out the door and across the patio to the Eyak River is breathtaking. The space was great for the two of us and our outdoor gear. The freezer was a huge bonus and there were plenty of amenities in the cabin. Robin was very responsive with all of my questions. This is a great place and we will be coming back in the future!

Secluded, peaceful. A unique and fun experience w/ dry cabin for a few nights. Dry from the rain was a blessing. Only issues was dealing w/ swarms of mosquitos on the property. Wish we had some more aggressive measures such as electric devices, routine spraying, odor agents for diminishing the volume of mosquitos so we could fully have enjoyed the patios, fire pits, cooking areas! clearly mosquitos and rural Alaska go hand-in-hand but our stay it would be nice to brainstorm. Loved the outdoor common cooking area! truly enjoyed cooking in peace/quiet and nature. Wish the outhouse was closer to the cabins. Maybe adding one additional would be an adventure in the future.. Lastly - only other request would have been a NICE wheeled wagon or cart to allow family's to transport food, items and gear from the designated parking location to the dry cabins! All in all, enjoyed the experience, would come back and use them again! Well worth it at the end of the road. Easy walk to everything

Logan’s place was a quaint and cozy cabin in the heart of McCarthy and was perfect for our stay. There is not any power, so be sure to bring a portable phone charger, headlamp, etc for your time there. The local store also has a phone charging station.

This is my third stay at this location. I absolutely love it for it’s peaceful and quiet surroundings. I will certainly be back again!

Only issue was the TV didn’t work. It was a blessing. Didn’t need it. Kari was responsive and I’m sure it is something small that will be fixed quickly. I would absolutely stay there again.

Truly off the grid experience! Great for Solo or couples traveling to Wrangell's St. Ellias Park. Very friendly and helpful host who has plenty of great local hiking recommendations.

Our stay at Blackburn Cabins was a perfect fit! Myself, my 2 adult sons and my granddog made a last minute decision at 10:30pm that we would drive to McCarthy the next day to hike the Root Glacier in Kennecutt but we wanted a place for a home base rather than tenting or car camping... long story short the Blackburn Cabins showed up in my Airbnb search. I reached out and in no time we were confirming our stay. We estimated an arrival time to ensure a driver from the footbridge. We met Olivia. She was wonderful. Olivia gave a quick tour of McCarthy so we could see what's available for food and shops. We drove to the cabin with Olivia but walked to town for dinner. And it was the last weekend for most of the towns people so they had a celebration with the town Prom Night and live music. A fun time was definitely had!! The cabin was just right. A place to sleep, sit & eat, a mini kitchen with the basics. Just right. Thank you!!!

Beautiful cabin perfectly situated for all adventures and sight-seeing in the Matanuska Glacier region. The goats were cute as well 🙂. My mom and I had a great stay.

Amazingly well equipped cabin in the middle of serene and peaceful surroundings. The cabin is also set up for perfect animal spotting! Denise is an amazing host, super helpful and responsive. She checked us in and spent time getting us comfortable with every part of the Airbnb!

Great cabin, easy to chat with hosts via text before arrival or up at Currant Ridge once we were there. Hospitality was 10/10 and great advice on how to plan or things to do for your adventures in McCarthy.

A typical no frills Alaskan cabin with great views down river , comfy bed and basic amenities with good shower hut next to cabin . Lovely owners .

Probably my favorite spot I’ve stayed in Alaska. Just 5 miles down the road from McCarthy. Quiet spot right next to beautiful creek. Even has inner cabin doors to make the bedroom part dark enough to sleep!

We ended up staying in both of Tamara’s cabins due to availability. They are both absolutely gorgeous. Incredibly peaceful and quiet, very well designed and equipped with everything you could need and more. The attention to detail is amazing. Even the outdoor shower and outhouse were super clean and comfortable. We had a slight preference for the original tiny cabin just because of the Mountain View and gorgeous porch to have a morning coffee, but both were super cosy and comfortable. Great location within McCarthy too.

Heidi was responsive and helpful. The cabin itself was clean, well kept, with everything stocked up that you may have forgotten. The view itself was breathtaking with mountain views everywhere you look. There was a mama and baby moose that visited multiple times and that just made the trip even more special. Thanks Heidi for a wonderful stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Tatiana’s place and immediately felt cozy and comfortable upon arrival. I liked the fact that the cabin was clean, modern with new appliances, and minimalistic in terms of layout. The outdoor space is also great on a sunny day if you want grille or just hangout with the family. The cabin is conveniently located near Glacier View where we trekked the Mantasuka glacier. Thanks to the host!
