Great house in a beautiful location. Excellent amenities, beautiful design, perfect for travelling with pups. A few notes: - The # of steps up to the unit might be underestimated by a factor of ~5. Not recommended unless you're reasonably fit. - The bedroom doors don't latch. There are hook-style locks provided....on the outside of the door. Not a huge deal, just means you need to shove something under the door if you want to keep the dogs from nosing their way in. - The water from the tap gets _really_ hot. This is great for some things (shaving) and less great for others (shower, dishwashing) Overall an excellent spot!

We had a wonderful stay! The home has a very warm and welcoming family atmosphere, with everything we needed for daily living. There were also plenty of toys and essentials suitable for a newborn, which made things so much easier for us. The location is convenient with easy access to transport, and even a large 7-seater SUV could fit comfortably in the parking space. We’re especially grateful for the host’s kind and thoughtful support throughout our stay.

The house was comfortable and inviting. Felt like a lived-in home and felt like we could totally make ourselves at home there. There was everything we needed throughout. Would very much recommend.

Lovely quiet location but close enough to enjoy the CBD. It’s a new build which is great for cold days (yay double glazing!), and we were happy to be able to bring our four legged friend along!

Beautiful place! Very close to the airport and located in a beautiful neighborhood close to the beach. The view was spectacular. All necessary amenities were provided. Would definitely recommend this listing to others

The flat was very cosy and homely. I must say the bed was so comfortable it was amazing I slept well. It accommodated all my needs staying there as a single traveller. The highlight was the view, as on top of the hill overlooking Owhiro Bay Beach, Red Rocks, Devil's Gate, The Mountains and towards the South Island. It was breath taking and so nice to look at every day and watch the birds fly over to and from the sea catching the wind gusts. On the 13th May 2025 Wellington put on an awesome sunset which was incredible I got some top pics as I had a bird's eye view at the house watching it. I grew up in Owhiro Bay so it brought back a lot of fond memories that I will cherish. Helen was an excellent host, kind, caring, easy to contact and she even dropped off a wheat bag for me as I had a sore back which was a fantastic help. Dealing with Helen was an ease and she is a lovely lady and I would recommended staying there for any traveller. Thanks heaps Helen I will be back again soon :)

Really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful restored Victorian villa conveniently located at the start of Oriental Bay and walking distance to Courtney Place, Te Papa Museum and other Wellington attractions. Great attention to detail on the fixtures, fittings and interior decor making this a truly charming place.

We throughly enjoyed our stay in this peaceful and stunning historic villa. The house is very spacious, with comfy beds and thoughtful touches throughout. Very well located close to the CBD but also tucked away on a quiet street with little noise. Thanks for hosting us and we hope to stay again!

Second time staying here in this lovely character home. Lovely and warm with everything you need for a home away from home and perfectly located for our needs. The beds are warm and comfy also. As regular visitors to Wellington, we would definitely love to stay here again. Thank you Rachael

Peaceful little studio with beautiful views, short drive to the beach and cool local cafes close by (recommend Polo and Scorch-o-rama). Also close to the airport so perfect for red-eye flights from Sydney and beyond. About a 10-15 minute drive to Wellington CBD, but feels nice and quiet compared to the city. Great for a short stay for a small family or a couple, really cute coastal stay.

What a wonderful little spot away from all the city life but within close enough distance to get everywhere. It was a quiet and peaceful location, lovely neighbourhood and a really nice view of the mountains. The sunrise and sunsets were gorgeous and I’d be sure to stay here again when I come down next! The host was very caring and even let me check in earlier which was a bonus as I was tired from the morning. I hired a rental car and parked it on the street and it was more than safe, so for those who need to do the same I hope you worry less about that! Thanks again.

Great location, super easy to find. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay close by to the city but also want a more quiet stay.

Great location and great host. Good communication and place was well equipped for our toddler with some toys too. Really enjoyed our stay. Only thing missing is a parking space, but Jenna advised us on parking spaces nearby.

Amelia is the perfect host! She found us a flexible solution even when it seemed like there wasn’t one. The House of Windows is one of the most creative and impressive homes I’ve stayed in — not just in New Zealand, but anywhere in the world. Perched high on a hill above the bay, it’s the perfect place to relax, work out, and do yoga. It’s clear that a lot of thought and effort went into every corner of the house. Amelia took amazing care of us — she sent us wonderful recommendations and even helped us find a babysitter, which was truly above and beyond. If there’s one place I’d return to for a long holiday and a coffee with an incredible woman — it’s this house (: We honestly didn’t want to leave.

Such lovely hosts , friendly, thoughtful, and really went the extra mile. They checked in with us when the weather turned and brought extra firewood to keep us cosy, plus a surprise some home-baked cookies which absolutely made our day. Felt really well looked after, would definitely stay again!

Very kind and thoughtful responsive hosts!! Easy to find and plenty parking along the street. Our kiddo and fur baby were all happyyyy. Superb comfy hot water pressure, especially during this cold weather!!!

Loved our stay, very clean, quiet, warm and really appreciated being able to bring my dog. It was very relaxing space and great location to the marine reserve and not too far from the city. Recommend to all!

We had a wonderful stay. Natalie was a very good host. As soon as we arrived Cha Cha took us down to the river for a play. Samba the cat was very confident and fun too. The place is really nice and the tree house is super cosy and warm. In a safe and peaceful location. Would stay again.
