Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Chania

A wonderful place to spend a week. Argiro was the most responsive and attentive host. The location is wonderful - super walkable to walk into Chania old town (20-30mins) with a water view the whole walk. A couple of minutes walk away is the ocean where there are multiple places to swim in the water or watch the sunset. Wonderfully accessible free safe parking is super close as well, 30 second walk from the building. The home itself is impeccably clean, with AC and a very comfortable bed. We felt very at home here. There was some construction that Argiro notified us about before our arrival and said we could cancel if we wanted, but the construction was minimal and starts later in the morning and didn’t bother us at all and we are so glad we stayed here! We wish we could have stayed longer! Please note that the place also has an umbrella in the closet, so don’t go out and buy one like we did!:) now there should be two:)

Elektra is an outstanding host. When we arrived, Elektra was there and gave us many tips (place to visit, restaurants, beaches,.). But the most touching thing was seeing all his generosity. Fruit, treats, cakes,..were available to us The space has been fully rehabilitated by her husband. This is a beautiful stone house with a beautiful decoration inside. The space keeps it cool. We really enjoyed the small patio where we were having breakfast . We recommend this beautiful cottage in a quiet area and not overlooked.

We really enjoyed our stay at this vacation home. The location is quiet and offers a great view of the sea – perfect for unwinding. The house is tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need. The landlords were friendly and helpful and made the stay pleasant. All in all, a nice house for a relaxing beach vacation.

This was one of the nicest and best equipped AirBnB we have stayed in. Maria was so attentive and had so much helpful information about the town and places to visit. Our bed was luxurious to sleep in and a peaceful respite from the warm weather. The washer/dryer was great (though takes some time to cycle through). The location was amazing and on the cutest street in town. It was right down from a great vintage/second hand store (Vintage Rose) and a great sandwich shop (Pork to Be Wild). The food from Maria’s mother made us feel so welcomed along with the best honey ever. Don’t miss the Saturday market. Amazing!

Four of us, two couples, spent a very enjoyable week at Roula's stone cottage. A special and stunning location and suspect a rare opportunity to spend time in a traditional style house in a rural cretan mountain village. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. May be better suited to a family stay as the downstairs room has no separate access to bathroom. We enjoyed the peaceful location immensely- great to getup and have breakfast outside with the fresh air and distant sound of goat bells. We travelled to Chania or the beaches along the coast every day and certainly didn't find the village too remote to do so. Nearby Tavernas and gorge walk are a must. Roula, along with her mother, were always quick, helpful and generous when questions were asked and supplied us with eggs and oranges and some home cooked food. Surely one of the best hosts I've experienced on airbnb. Would gladly return.

We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. We arrived quite late and were pleasantly surprised to find a cold bottle of wine waiting for us and all the amenities for us to have a late supper. The location was very charming close to the historic district of Chania and the story behind Hestia House added to our stay. Great location for walking and the nearby beaches were a stone throw away. The bedroom and bathroom were very bright and comfortable. If we return to Crete, Hestia House will certainly be our number one choice.

This place was super cute and very convenient in a area in town that is close to everything but not loud at night and less touristy. I would definitely recommend it and he was very responsive as a host. Every time I call he was there right away and answered right away. The place is also very attractive.

We had a great time at Georgios’s place at the garden of Zephyrus. The location was absolutely perfect surrounded by nature with incredible views in every direction. We did a lot of hiking nearby and it was a short drive to beautiful beaches. The apartment was comfortable and welcoming, and I left feeling refreshed and inspired. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind and explore the outdoors! Georgios is fantastic host.

What an amazing place. The anti - boutique art cafe is something to experience. When so many places are being turned into “luxury living “ boxes it was delightful to stay in a 500 year old property with all its charm and quirks. Coming home at night to our own a bar was fun. The bed was extremely comfortable and the access to art materials was a real bonus to my artist husband. The kitchen has lots of equipment and the water in the shower has high water pressure and heater only takes a short time to produce VERY hot water. Once the inner door is closed the apartment is very peaceful. Communication with Spiros was excellent. It’s difficult to suggests any improvements. Maybe more pillows. We would appreciate a washing machine but understand this is extra cost. Be aware the cleaner next door sometimes spills water from the balcony into the garden. Just sit to the left. Oh I don’t forget to try the restaurant next door. Thank you Spiros for a lovely stay. A great way to end our 4 weeks.

We thought Eirini was an excellent host and went way beyond what we expected. Very attentive to our needs and full of suggestions to make most of our holiday.

Thrasyvoulos’s was a very responsive, proactive and helpful host. The apartment was in an amazing location with great restaurants nearby. Would recommend!

This is a very special apartment that has a view like no other. It’s the perfect home base to explore Chania and the region. I especially enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen. There are many green grocers and farmer’s markets to procure the best Cretan produce and enjoying your meals with that incredible view. The apartment is comfortable, quiet, and John is a superb host. He is not only thoughtful, he’s very proactive. The best experience I’ve had with Airbnb. He should be called a super, super host!

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay in Chania. Elina was responsive, a generous host, and gave some amazing recommendations! The apartment is clean and stocked for everything you will need for your stay. It is incredibly spacious and private. We would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed week here and we would recommend this to anyone who wants to explore chania by walking or renting a car. Not loud at night so easy to sleep. Only short walk to shops and restaurants. Free parking area with many spots usually available only short walking distance from the house. The streets around the house were allmost allways full of cars. Working A/C in all rooms. Nice backyard for relaxing morning coffees. All the rooms look like in the pictures. Recommended!

Very nice home and location very nice, walkable to harbor and old town which was very nice! Lots of restaurants! The house was very clean and comfortable and really pretty view of the sea from living room area. The layout was very nice as bathroom on floor of living are and second floor with bedrooms with full bath very nice, lots of room!! My only complaint was, in my opinion, the portrait over master bed was very provocative and also, in my opinion, offensive being a female. Don’t understand why there must be naked pictures of female. This really offended me and can’t understand why??? Laura Rehm

We had an excellent stay in this beautiful accommodation. It was very clean, well equipped and within walking distance of the city centre. We received very clear instructions before our arrival, which made it easy to find the accommodation and the parking space. We were even treated to some nice touches when we arrived at the flat. Our host was very careful for details, kitchen had all necessary stuff, fridge, etc. everything was clean. Host gift us welcoming gifts and that was lovely ❤️. Nice location, beach is close and you can go to supermarket in 10min on bus. And 25 min to Chania, bus stop is near. Living there was a pleasure.

This is absolutely our favorite Airbnb that we've ever stayed in (and we've stayed in a lot). The place is adorable. Katerina is very responsive and lives right by the apartment. The view is wonderful, and both the living room and twin bedroom have doors that open onto that view. It has everything you need and more, with Katerina providing treats and even cereal and milk for that first morning. The air conditioning worked well, but there is also a lovely breeze from the sea. There are tons of restaurants and cafes just below the apartment as well as with 5 and 10 minutes walk in Old Town. It would be comfortable for a couple and a third person (such as a child) or two people, each with their own room. The washing machine was great to have, and you can dry clothes on the lines off the balcony. We did not want to leave.

Great location, you can walk to many places, there is a delicious cafe nearby Convenient space space The host was very nice!Very prompt and responsive!Allows us to check in early😃 and also allows us to park for a while after check-out. This is really good (because it is difficult to find a parking space on the road nearby) This building is new and has a nice elevator The room is also very clean and cozy, fully equipped, there is also complimentary mineral water in the refrigerator, there is a full-length mirror in the bathroom, a makeup mirror in the bedroom, the hot water is very warm, the lights in the bedroom are also very bright, I like it here ~ I can hear a little bit of the traffic outside in the bedroom, but it's acceptable. It's just that I'm a light sleeper, so I noticed this. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

We loved our stay here! It is in a great location. Walking distance to lots of good restaurants and shops. It also has an incredible view of the harbor from the balcony. The host made sure the property was very clean, provided some welcome gifts, and responded promptly when we locked ourselves out on accident! Would gladly stay here again!

We had a great stay at Nikos' place. The view is incredible, you'll want to spend your days on the balcony! The bedding is comfortable, and there is everything available to have a very good stay. Nikos was very welcoming and discreet, he recommended a place to park easily and reach the center of Chania on foot, which was very convenient! In short, we really enjoyed our vacation in this accommodation and recommend it 100%. Thank you Nikos!

Worth every single penny, the place is beautiful, very cozy, decorated with taste and super clean, loads of storage and it has all the amenities you could think of. You also have a Cleaner coming during the week and she even gave us fresh towels! Definitely a bonus point ☺️ Quiet area but in just 2 minute you can go for a swim or dine in one of the beautiful restaurant and bars along the coat. The highlight of the week, on top of the beautiful Crete, was definitely Iryna😍 She is, and by far, the most amazing host you will ever come across!! She welcomed us at 1am, with a giant smile on her face, gave us a tour of her home, gave us a lot of recommendations, she even organised us a taxi for the airport on the way back and so much more❤️ she really goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. Don’t look any further, this is the place to go for your next holiday!!!! Will defo be back if we come back to Chania. Thank you so much again Iryna❤️❤️❤️

From the start, Sia and her husband were very warm and welcoming. At check-in, they walked us through the apartment, which looked exactly like the photos. The view is fantastic from the front balcony. Everything was very clean. Loved that there were electronic blinds for most windows. We rented a car and there was a parking spot available for us in Sia's garage. We did find the bed a bit too hard for our tastes (to each their own!), and we sometimes had trouble with the wifi dropping in the main bedroom. Overall, we loved Sia's place and would stay there again!

The apartment was situated a short walking distance from the Venetian harbor and old town of Chania and was a perfect base for exploring the area. The apartment was also very clean. The host was very helpful and provided detailed instructions to find the location. I arrived on a late flight and the check-in process went very smoothly. Overall I can fully recommend the apartment for a stay in the beautiful city of Chania.
