Holiday rentals with lake access in City of Carlisle

Clean and well equipped large house, perfect for 5 couples celebrating a 60th bday. Large communal space for eating in and socialising. Pubs and restaurants in walking distance (20min walk). We were blessed with fabulous weather and fortunately had taken camping chairs as other than an outdoor dining table with bench seating there were no other outdoor seats, so go prepared if the forecast is good. Separate pool table room was a welcome bonus. Would thoroughly recommend.

A cozy multilevel home with lots of character. The kitchen and dining area are fairly small/cozy, but they worked for us (5 adults). The home has beautiful views and a nice private outdoor area for reading/relaxing. **Be sure to read the parking instructions, and watch the parking video.** We didn’t and so our rental van, a VW MPV almost got stuck going up the driveway that has a sharp corner. A smaller car would be ok, and definitely if it has 4WD/AWD. Even the postman spun a tire on his way up the drive. You can walk to a parking lot at the base of the hill leading to the base of Old Man Coniston trail. It’s <5 min walk up the hill and to the right, from the back of the house. You can park there for £8 for 24 hours. Old Man Coniston is a nice walk - though be aware of the weather. It was misty/foggy/windy for us - and very much so at the top - which made it quite an adventure. We needed a phone/gps map to complete the loop trail.

Had a great time staying here with some friends for a long weekend in the Lake District. Really unique house, and easy access to great hikes.

Elizabeth’s house was even better than the photos—spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect, it’s in a quiet residential area yet close to the lake and town center. Elizabeth was super responsive and gave us a lot of helpful tips for local restaurants and hiking suggestions. Would absolutely stay here again!

parking for 2 cars was perfect. location was great and so quiet and yet in the centre of everything.

Elisabeth's property is a great place located in a beautiful area, that is extremely close to shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Located close to Skiddaw and Lake Derwent, you can leave the house and chose a hike of your choice. The house is equipped with everything you need and I will be looking to return when back in the area.

We stayed at Brad and Sue’s place in Coniston in June. Great location - lots of restaurants and cafes in walking distance and several small shops for essentials. A beautiful house in a lovely setting, great for family get togethers, location right on the lake was amazing, & easy access to lovely local town of Glenridding for essentials. Wide range of facilities at the cottage, we really enjoyed the private outdoor eating area next with the wood fired outdoor grill. Very nice well appointed kitchen with quality appliances, bathrooms clean and with quality fittings. Outside garden/woodland area was perfect for us and our dog, although the many steps and steep paths would not suit everyone, but this factor is clearly explained in the information host provides. We found some rooms a little dark, especially on a rainy day but there are some lovely lamps which can be moved around if required. Overall I would recommend this cottage as a great place to stay & enjoy the lake district and all it has to offer.

We stayed here when we were visiting the area for a wedding. It was a great location and incredibly clean and tidy. Staying here made the 7 hour drive from Devon very worth it and we would stay again if we’re ever in the area!

Stunning place, inside was lovely and beautiful surroundings. We booked last minute and as 2 travelling with work so did not get to enjoy the place as much as I wish we could of!

Scafell View had everything we needed. There was onsite private parking so guaranteed an easy space opposite the property and the apartment is a good size with everything you need. There were 3 of us staying and it great base from which to explore the local area and the views are amazing, especially the night sky! Sharon provided clear instructions on how to find the property with some suggestions and helpful info in the apartment. The only thing I'd ask for would be a few more adult board games for the evenings.

Great little stay walking distance from the train station. Lovely, quiet home was everything we needed!

We had a perfect stay in this dreamy cottage while exploring the Lakes! The thoughtful host left us everything we could need (including some lovely food staples like bread and milk that we really appreciated!) and the cottage was very comfortable. It was clean throughout and homely, with cosy rooms and plenty of Lake District literature, DVDs and books. An excellent spot that we’d definitely recommend. Thank you for having us!

Anya’s house was very comfortable and we felt right at home as soon as we walked in. The instructions provided were easy to follow. Each room had heating which was needed as one night was quite cold. It was great to have a washing machine. The location was within driving to restaurants and pubs and there was plenty of pamphlets of things to do and see in the area. The tiny snug was very cute and cosy. Highly recommended

This is a perfect gem. If you are looking for tranquility with beautiful scenery, surrounded by nature this is the place for you. We spent every day enjoying the loch with swimming and kayaking. The log fire was great for enjoying the evenings. The master bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept like a log every night 🤣 We also arrived to a welcome package which was a great touch. This really is a home from home with everything you need. Locally we enjoyed 2 of the 7stanes mountain biking and walking locations. We also visited the Red kite feeding station at Bellymack hill farm in Laurieston which was an incredible sight to see and a great ice cream down at rockcliff beach. We will definitely be returning and cannot wait.

Our second stay in Ridgeway Cottage; we love the stunning views from the huge picture windows and the convenient location for exploring the Lakes. We may be back again!

A fantastic option for our week in the Lake District. Conveniently situated, spotlessly clean and well equipped. A very comfortable place that exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back.

We have enjoyed a fabulous 3 nights at Teapot Cottage. The Cottage is compact and cosy and finished to a really high standard. The kitchen is really well equipped and the decor is gorgeous. Everywhere was spotlessly clean when we arrived and Lammisa’s communication throughout our stay made it a really easy and enjoyable. The hot tub is a fabulous treat at the end of the day and we had a lovely surprise of a tray of treats left for us to enjoy when we arrived! We will definitely be back!

Over the years we have stayed at quite a few AirBnBs and this has got to be one of the best. Seemingly everything had been thought through. Everything worked and there weren't any issues. Parking was okay for our two cars. Would definitely look to stay here again as the house easily held the 6 adults and 3 year old.
