The Loblolly Lodge was built by Frank Taylor as a gathering place for his family around 1940. Remodeled in 2018, it now boasts of all the modern conveniences for a great getaway. With 2400sf of indoor living space & a 640sf covered back porch there is plenty of space for several families. The Lodge is nestled on 11 private wooded acres adjacent to Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area in the Davy Crockett National Forest which offers fishing, swimming, picnicking, and hiking for a small entrance fee.

Cabin 1 directly on the lake!

We have 3 cabins on Houston County Lake that rent separately. 1&2 have 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms with a loft. The 3rd is a Studio. Master Bedroom has a queen bed with a private bathroom. The guest room has a full-size bunk bed that can sleep 4. The loft has two twin beds in Cabin 1 and a queen mattress in Cabin 2. The kitchen has a microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator, sink, and dishwasher. We also have a Roku TV and WIFI. We have a covered Pavilion with Pickleball, basketball, and other games.

Sits on the edge of a cow pasture where cows moo(DO NOT FEED, they’re large and can hurt you, NOT RESPONSIBLE for people who have messed with cows.) Also has a pond with ducks that quack. The Henry Homeplace has been restored to as close to original as possible. This 85 acre property offers a pond for fishing, natural scenery and wildlife, an outdoor private hot tub, an outdoor pavilion, farm animals to love on and so much more! Our location is perfect for being close to town, but getting away from the city for a little bit of rest and relaxation. Restaurants, shops, historical treasures and even the Texas State Railroad are close enough for you to enjoy.

20 acres of relaxation in the piney woods of East Texas. Easily accessible from all directions. This is not a place to exert a lot of energy unless you'd like to visit my firewood splitting department. (I may knock a few dollars off the price if you do!) Owners house is next door, Grill, smoker, fire pit, and additional outdoor shower. Pond is stocked with perch. Beautiful walking trails. Golf cart is onsite but availability may be limited. Along with relaxing with nature and enjoying the family farm of goats, chickens and our donkey Biscuit.
