This 400-year-old lakeside house is a true step back in time, offering breathtaking views of Lake Maggiore. Spacious, impeccably clean, and full of charm, it fully lived up to expectations. The patio, right on the water, was an absolute highlight - we spent hours soaking in the stunning lake view, watching the distant lights of surrounding communities shimmer at night while sipping wine. Ambra is an exceptional host, providing detailed and timely guidance on the island, ferry schedules, free parking, and dining options. Despite our delayed arrival due to traffic, she graciously waited on the island to personally welcome us. The island itself is small yet enchanting, with plenty of restaurants and an ideal location for visiting the magnificent palaces and gardens of Isola Bella and Isola Madre. After the final ferry departs at 7 p.m., it feels as though you have the island entirely to yourself - a truly enjoyable experience.

Small apartment very nicely decorated for 2 or 3 people (1 sofa bed on the ground floor and 1 bedroom on the first floor) with lake view from a small balcony. A bathroom on each floor, a kitchenette, a living room with a large sofa and a dining table. A peaceful haven for two or three nights (or more), the island is very quiet in the evening after the waves of tourists have left. Stresa is 5 minutes by boat, the starting point for all destinations on the lake, with the purchase of a ticket for each crossing (about €3.50). The visit of the other two Borromean islands is feasible starting from Isola Bella, with a day package for boat connections (count a day of visit). Very professional welcome from Francesca, who will give you a discount card for visits and restaurants on 3 islands.

Cristina met us down the road and helped us bring our luggage up. She was very helpful and provided clear instruction for checking in. Cristina communicated quickly and was very kind to us throughout our stay. The location of the apartment overlooks Lake Maggiore and provides a beautiful view of Isola Bella. It is a 15 minute walk to the train station, about 20 minute walk through the gorgeous promenade by the lake shore and once you are in the city center if Stresa, you can try delicious traditional Piedmont dishes, purchase Piedmont cheeses and salami from Conad which is about 20 minute walk from the apartment. There is also a Carrefour store in the city center for quick shopping. Overall, the apartment’s location was excellent, the surroundings are gorgeous, the people of Stresa are very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend staying oh good at Cristina’s place for a sun-filled and relaxing getaway.
