[House Story] This house was born out of a childhood dream of living in a Nordic home.It all started with my longing for a cozy cabin and the tranquility of nature, like something out of a story. After living in Sweden and New Zealand, I returned to Japan and, together with my husband, Andy, took over a cottage that was scheduled to be demolished just one month later. "'OLI' OLI no Ki" is located in a quiet villa area near the popular tourist destination of Metasekoya. Spacious LDK with over 23 tatami mats. The wooden deck overlooks the Hachioji River. Enjoy the babbling of the river and the wonderful scenery that changes with the seasons while enjoying a barbecue or tea time. There are two large bathtubs and showers where you can relax in the bath. Families and groups can all bathe together. Also within walking distance is Hachioji-sanso, Makino Shiraya Onsen. It is a hot spring facility where you can enjoy one of the best 100% natural radon hot springs in Kansai. Please feel free to use it. You can enjoy a barbecue on the outdoor wooden deck. You don't need to bring any tools. Please bring only ingredients, condiments, and drinks. * In case of strong winds, we may ask you to refrain from using the barbecue area for safety reasons. ⚠︎ Because the mountains are close and the location is rich in nature, insects may appear indoors depending on the season, even if we take countermeasures. You can enjoy cherry blossoms in Kaizu Osaki in spring, swimming in Lake Biwa in summer, fruit picking in early summer to autumn, and Makino Highlands, Ohana Resort, and Mt. Hakodate in winter, all year round.

In winter, spend the day with a warm wood stove. Firewood is available free of charge, mainly sawtooth oak and beech. We will carefully explain how to use the stove at check-in. Please use it with peace of mind. 　On the south side of the villa, you can spend a quiet time with a hammock and bench in the sawtooth oak forest. On the east side is a barbecue corner, a long garden, and a wooden deck. On the north side, there is a sawtooth oak forest and you can pick chestnuts in autumn.
