Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Kona

A great area to stay at - I'm really glad we chose this Airbnb! The cooler weather was welcome and mountainous scenery was beautiful.

Lovely location, thoughtful amenities and a wonderful Lanai, (porch) where we were able to sit and have breakfast or best, view the sunsets every night.

Due to a change in plans and flights, we needed a last minute place to stay for four of us. The instant booking and self check in made this location ideal for us. The beautiful morning view from outside was definitely a plus.

It was a great place close to the airport while having easy access to everything. Very clean and the beach equipment was amazing to have during our stay. Highly recommend!

We highly recommend staying at Santai Cottage. The setting was very beautiful, peaceful and private. We enjoyed having the beach gear, hot tub and option to cook our own meals. Lots of windows and covered porches for a true indoor/outdoor living experience. We had everything we needed for an excellent stay. Thank you Karen, you were a great host!

Beautiful home and property, comfortable, the cleanest place we have ever stayed in. Attention to detail throughout the home. Host was friendly and responsive, we plan to stay at this location again in the future.

Dani's place is so beautiful and peaceful. It's private and quiet, yet within just a few minutes' drive there is access to the beach, restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and cafes. She has very carefully created a sanctuary with attention to detail and all the amenities anyone could need; and she really goes out of her way to make one's stay so comfortable and memorable. What a gift to have been able to stay here!

The place was great! Super clean and Jon was able to respond quickly if needed. Cafe Florian down the street was super charming and affordable with GREAT views of the ocean, and Gypsea Gelato was a few minutes drive away and had amazing gelato-great treat on a hot day! Parks and snorkeling were short drives away. The grocery store down the street had great premade sushi to take to the beach! I felt very comfortable at Jon's place! Close to Kona Community Hospital as well.

Wow and wow! Joyce and Zac have gone above and beyond to create a space that is comfortable and private. While the accommodations are indeed attached to their home, the retreat presents like a private apartment. The kitchen is well-stocked, making it easy to cook in for meals, if desired. Nothing has been forgotten concerning the little touches that make traveling easier, so we would consider this rental much better than a hotel. There is no air-conditioning, but numerous fans are provided and we were comfortable during our June stay. The online pictures very accurately depict what you'll see when you arrive. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We whole-heartedly recommend this rental and plan to return on our next trip to Kona.

We had a fantastic stay at Adam’s peaceful home near Kona. The property is quiet, beautifully maintained, and just a 7-minute drive to town — the perfect mix of nature and convenience. The space was spotless and fully stocked with everything we needed. We especially appreciated the beach chairs, towels, umbrella, and the relaxing hot tub. Honestly, the hot tub was even more soothing than an onsen we’ve experienced in Japan — especially with the surrounding sounds of birds and rustling trees. The full kitchen made it easy to cook, and we loved having dinners outside under the stars. The deck and garden felt like a private retreat — calm, lush, and peaceful. Nature’s sounds at night were magical. Adam was an amazing host — warm, responsive, and thoughtful. And his sweet dog and cat made us smile every time we saw them — they added a lovely, homely touch. We highly recommend this place to couples looking for a quiet, cozy escape on the Big Island. We’d love to return. Mahalo!

It's the house of my dream. Everything in the house is taken really good care of by Priscilla and Rob, and the house is definitely one of my favorite places in Kona. I really hope that I can come back soon, and I will bring you a small gift from China, Priscilla~~💜

Overall this was a really great stay - the hosts were very responsive, the Airbnb was spotless, and it was well stocked with everything you could need.

Perfect stay if you are prioritizing walkability, restaurants, shops, and bars. This unit also comes with beach chairs, a cooler, bougie board, and other beach related things that came handy during our trip. Would come back again!

Dawn’s place is cute. She has nice amenities like beach chairs and snorkel gear. She also had a mini rice cooker that was very convenient. It was in a great location right next to local am shops and a small beach.

James was a very responsive host. The location was great and the view of the ocean was amazing once you walked out to the pool and “beach” area.

place was beautiful! spacious and very well kept. location was great just a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of the strip down the road. host was responsive and helpful!

We read reviews about bugs and a bad smell, however we had no issues with either. Place felt very clean and smelled great, has all the amenities and appliances that we needed. Even had a boogie board in the closet that we could use which was fun! Overall great place, right by tons of restaurants and stores as well as the shoreline.
