This is an eclectic and imaginative one bedroom cottage sanctuary with a front porch swing for watching east Austin mosey on by. Joyous comfort is to be had in the main bedroom with custom cathedral ceiling and tempurpedic bed. The bathroom features a walk in shower with custom tile and a clawfoot tub for all of your bathing dreams. There is an additional sleeping loft should you have a friend or two who would like to accompany you. Please make yourself at home on the front and side porches but we ask that you give some privacy to the back yard immediately surrounding the back house. Thank you! Central East Austin is a diverse and dynamic neighborhood that is just a few minutes from downtown and yet still quiet. In addition to offering of some of Austin's best restaurants and music venues, it also has important history to explore. In the last century, highway 35 was a tool of segregation, with east (of 35) Austin providing a rich community for African Americans. See how this history lives on through a plethora of old and new businesses is this burgeoning neighborhood! There is a parking spot that you are welcome to use directly in front of the house and there is also plenty of street parking with no permitting or street cleaning concerns. The closest B-Cycle station is a 15 minute walk away at Victory Grill on 11th St. Many of the 6th St restaurants and bars are a 10 minute walk as well. If you would prefer not to walk, there are a selection of ride share services such as RideAustin (our favorite), Lyft, or Uber. The street has two names, Hamilton Ave and Richard Overton Ave. Depending on your map source you may see either one pop up. Richard Overton is the oldest living American and American World War II veteran at 112 years of age. He lives down the block where be bought a house after the war ended.

You can raise the glass "garage door" to have a beautiful view of nature and hear the wet weather creek running. You may even spot a deer or fox. It has a cozy king bed and we can also provide a luxury blow up mattress. This is a standalone guest house completely separate from the main house with it's own private driveway. You will have full access to explore the entire property and nearby hiking trails My wife and I are happy to hang out and provide advice on the best places to explore in Austin. However, if you want privacy you will never have to see us. There is a keypad on the front door, so you will have easy access with a key code and the entire transaction can occur through AirBNB. The home is in a very private neighborhood with lots between two and ten acres. The area is secluded and private, yet only 12 miles to downtown, two miles to Lake Austin, 8 miles to Lake Travis, and less than 10 minutes from a range of restaurants. Most people bring their car, but Uber is another great ways to explore Austin from this property. You can also ride your bike to Lake Austin (but you better be in shape to ride back up the hills) The home is in a very private neighborhood with lots between two and 10 acres. The area is secluded and private, yet only 12 miles to downtown, two miles to Lake Austin, 10 miles to Lake Travis, and less than 10 minutes from a range of restaurants.
