Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Lake Lure

Stunning location with sweeping views of Lake Lure! Such a cozy cottage reminiscent of a bygone era. This cottage is exactly what I was looking for when searching for a Lake Lure rental. Would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful house in a beautiful location with amazing views. Adam was very helpful and quick to reply to any questions I had. Highly recommend and cannot wait to return!

The pictures did not do this place justice, as it was more beutiful than the pictures represented. It was clean, vary large with many amenities and lots of water toys "several kayaks , a canoe, beach toys, life vest, and even a couple blow up tubes. There was a nice grill and firepit and Amanda even left the kiddoes smores fixing, which they enjoyed very much. We were there for Easrer weekend, and there did not seem to be anyone in any of the other cabins along the lake, so it was very private, which we appreciated. Give this place a try, and you won't be disappointed.

We had a great time. The views are beautiful and the house is spacious with a great layout for a large group. The house has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished with a fun lake theme. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The kids had a wonderful time at the private lake! They paddled around the lake in their floats and played on the sandy shady beach. It was a bit warm to try out the hot tub and the fire table on the porch but we hope to come back in the spring or fall to take advantage of all the amenities this house has to offer.

I have a family of 6 and we travel often and finding a great Airbnb is a hobby for us. This home is by far my favorite that I have ever stayed in. Carly was wonderful, responsive, super kind and super helpful. The house is incredibly done. I noticed so many fun attentions to detail and it was a joyful and peaceful house to be in. I also highly recommend visiting the Lake Lure area of NC. They are still coming back from the hurricane, but they deserved to be visited as it is a gorgeous part of North Carolina. Look nowhere else and stay here!

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at this cozy mountain cottage. The location is peaceful and quiet, offering the perfect escape, while still being conveniently accessible to nearby attractions and local spots. The cottage was exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully prepared. The grill and hot tub were both in excellent working condition and added to the comfort and enjoyment of our stay. We could tell the hosts put great care into creating a welcoming experience. We continue to support our friends and the local mountain community as they rebuild, and this stay reminded us just how special this area is. We highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a serene and comfortable retreat in the mountains.

This is a lakeside cottage/cabin built in 1950 and subsequently updated. It met our expectations of rustic coziness and modern bathroom/ kitchen. The screened porch overlooking the lake was a highlight. It is evident that this rental is enjoyed by the owners and there are many touches that show they have actually stayed there and thought about what is needed. The kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of towels. A highlight for us was using the kayaks. Early morning on the lake is peaceful and there isn’t much traffic on this little bay. We had four adults, so having one shower was not a problem. We had read the description and reviews and were prepared for the stairs. Many houses on this bay are built on the side on a steep embankment and have long staircases. Also, the property manager was responsive to our questions. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again.

Our family is huge so it’s really hard to find a house large enough to host all of us. Daniel’s house was GORGEOUS and so spacious, the photos did not do this place justice. The upstairs was beautiful with large windows that let natural light in. We did encounter a mama bear and her baby, but Daniel warned us every day during our stay to keep trash in and be aware of the bears. We were secured inside the house and got to watch through the windows. It was an amazing experience for the kids. The golf cart was a game changer. We didn’t have to move our vehicles a lot. The amenities were perfect for us and the kids. Two pools, mini golf, and pickleball was all we needed to stay busy the entire weekend. Lake Lure was closed, but that was told to us weeks before the trip. We will definitely come back when Lake Lure opens. 10/10 vacation!!!!!!

The place was great, even though it was a very quick stay. The mattresses were very comfortable, place was clean & inviting. My wife really admired their garden and has now decided we are adding a butterfly garden to our farmstead. We would def stay again.

This is my second stay here, which I rebooked on the spot during my 1-night stay last year. I stayed 5 nights this time to attend a dance weekend at nearby Warren Wilson College, a mere 7-minute drive. The space was very clean and well equipped abd felt very private, despite actually being attached to the main house. The hosts were attentive and responsive to my needs and were friendly, helpful, abd informative when we happened to run into each other outside. Wildlife was abundant, and I really enjoyed watching whatever might happen along from my own front porch. Fireflies at night, birds galore, roosters crowing nearby, chipmunks, butterflies, and yes! I actually saw 2 bears one day, each at a separate time, wandering on different sides of the yard. One of hosts alerted me the day before that there were 2 in the yard, but I missed seeing that (he did send me photos), and the day I saw the bears, I sent him video and he sent me a photo of a coyote that had been out there earlier.

There were some wonderful, particular touches that made this place special: the admirable iron-work throughout the house, the little bowl of chocolates, the "Everybody Poops" children's book. The location is absolutely ideal if you want to be able to walk to a delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (We had an incredible chocolate cake at the pizza place directly next door.) We were also easily able to walk to the local lake and the Saturday market. We were also surprised by how little street noise there was; the bedroom being near the back of the space helped with this too. It was an ideal weekend.

We enjoyed our stay. Cindi was friendly, hospitable, and gave us great recommendations of things to do and places to eat nearby. We would stay there again.

First I will say, we are picky and this spot was PERFECT!!! We loved everything about Jane’s place!! Jane and her sweet husband were very helpful and accommodating and so friendly! I highly recommend their little getaway and we will definitely be back!

We had such a wonderful stay!!! The apartment and gardens were so lovely, peaceful, and private. The apartment was very clean, beautifully decorated, and had the perfect view of the gardens. The location is perfect and made walking to town a breeze! We so enjoyed talking to Walter and sherry too. They were an absolute delight! Highly recommend this gem! We can’t wait to visit again!

Muffi and Tim’s place was awesome! Very homey and comfortable but also packed with extra amenities even beyond what were listed. It’s tucked away and peaceful but within 5-10 minutes of just about everything, 15-20 minutes for the farther parts of the city. Clean and cozy and highly recommended!

We had a great stay at Donna’s. It was clean and comfortable, and Donna is very responsive.

We stayed in the cabin for a death in our family March 2025 and wanted a place clean, relaxing and quiet and we got just that!! We did have a "tiny" issue but when Tamra found out she was on it, and it was corrected quickly and we even talked on the phone, and she was the sweetest person. The Cabin was clean and comfy and so relaxing, and the beds were so comfortable also. We would definitely come back to stay & recommend it to anyone!!

Loved this spot! Close to everything. We had a great time going out and staying in. The living room had plenty of space. Good kitchen. The k-cups and mini creamers were great for the next morning before we had a chance to hit the grocery. Clear instructions for check in/out and recommendations were much appreciated!

Our group was new to Asheville and we all felt so at home, comfortable, and cozy in this condo. Parking was easy and we were able to walk to breweries, shops, a co-op, restaurants, and a music venue. Highly recommend booking this place for your trip!

This was a great 2/2 in downtown Asheville. It was clean, comfortable with easy access. Relatively quiet space. My friend had a car and was happy for the guest parking (the street is metered parking and the meter maids are active). The location is good proximity to the airport and the Biltmore (I Uber’d to both). I would definitely recommend this place for your Asheville stay. Cheers!
