Houseboat holiday rentals in Northern Europe

What a brilliant place to stay! I felt like a child clambering up the steps to the viewing seat at the back, spotting all the unusual items around the place .. really fun. Hamish was a great host, showing us how the place worked. Great little outside space at the back. The whole place felt really homely. The toilet took a bit of getting use to ... so be prepared for an an adventure, but everything worked well including the wood burner, heating and hot water.

Charming! If the film "Amélie" were a boat, it would look like the Bresss'O. His loving and playful atmosphere touched us deeply. Everything served on the small table with the red checkered blanket tastes twice as good. You can watch the mysterious giant carp grazing, see the nimble swallows drinking from the Rhone, and hear the frogs croaking. And hard to believe: no mosquitoes! The houseboat is located on a small jetty near a nice village, where there is a lively bar/restaurant and a small supermarket. Around the village are beautiful groves with all kinds of fruit. We recommend: swimming in the Gardon, cycling on the Route Verte, visiting the market in Beaucaire, drinking pastis in Boulbon. Despite the many advantages, the best thing about the boat is the hosts. Pierre, who took care of everything with warmth and a lot of humor. And Thierry, whose playfulness is palpable.

Everything was great! All of it. Would gladly stay to this beautiful place!

I cannot recommend this boat enough. I wish I was back there right now! What a lovely surprise that it's even better than the photos. Extremely clean, excellent finish, very unique and an overall beautiful space. Location is lovely, a short walk to everything and easy tram access if you don't feel like walking. Leaving the best till last... Sietske is a wonderful and kind host. She couldn't do enough for us and made us feel extremely welcome. Thank you so much for helping make a big birthday even more special!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Anouk’s place. It was extremely comfortable for 4 people and had a wonderful living space that felt comfortable and homely. We loved having access to the bikes and despite having inclement weather it was an easy ride to the wonderful Zaanse Schans and the old windmills. Quintessential Amsterdam! The jewel on the crown was when the rain finally stopped, we were able to experience the stunning canal view from the moored boat at the back. Unfortunately the weather hadn’t permitted us to use the boat to explore the other canals but it is definitely something we would love to do on a future visit. Anouk was fabulous at communicating and left comprehensive information for us to make the most of the area. We loved dining at her favourite restaurant and probably made our mark as we were leaving! (Another story!) Ha! We definitely caught the spirit of the place! Could not recommend this highly enough. Thanks for a fabulous stay 🙏🏽❤️

We spent five nights with our family of four on the lovely house boat and really enjoyed our stay. The little boat is a lovely and very cozy place and perfect for staying in the very centre of Copenhagen. I mean, where else can you easily recognise your accommodation in air photographs of the city centre:-) The boat has everything you need for your stay and beds are very comfortable. Also, Eva is super kind and easy to reach when there are questions. Thanks for having us!

Hanco’s house boat was just perfect for our stay. The location was perfect and we could easily walk to everything that we wanted to see, and there was a fantastic supermarket (Ekoplaza) and cafe deli (Stach) a 5 min walk away. We also enjoyed watching the coots and their chicks in a nest right outside the window! Hanco was incredibly helpful and responsive, and kindly put a travel cot up for our arrival.

We felt right at home from the 1st minute! It was really great, every detail of this houseboat is harmonious and very cozy, it is a pleasure to enjoy the view and watch the many animals! Looking forward to next time :) Clemens and Claudi

I wanted to book a night away for my birthday meeting up with my daughter. I came across Seascape and immediately thought it would be ideal. We were not disappointed. Stunning location and beautifully kept. The weather was very warm and there was a air conditioning unit which was a god send. I will hopefully be able to return again

We had a lovely extended weekend on the houseboat! The location was fantastic – quiet, right on the water, with beautiful views. The boat was very clean, well equipped and cozily furnished, with everything you need. We especially liked the small terrace, perfect for breakfast or the evening. An absolute recommendation for those who want to experience something different and relax! I'm sure we'll be back.

We had a 2-day stay on this charming houseboat in scenic and peaceful surroundings. There was nothing missing during the stay - it was clean and tidy and the conditions were good for glamping! The host was definitely on the offer side and available for questions when needed. Very pleased!

We loved our beautiful unique stay on Trevor’s canal boat. He was friendly, helpful, and provided great info when we arrived. The boat was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed. The private garden was stunning and well cared for with a hot tub and fire pit to make the evenings extra special. The photos really don’t do it justice - it’s even more beautiful and peaceful in person. Great location with a lovely walk along the canal into town. Highly recommend!

If you’re looking for a unique getaway with a welcoming host and a gorgeous setting, this is the place for you! From the moment we arrived, Linda, the host, greeted us with a smile and the wonderful surprise of a freshly baked loaf of bread, which was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel right at home. In fact, thoughtful is the watchword here, the houseboat was stocked with everything you could possibly need, the fridge was fully stocked with essentials like milk, butter, jams, infused water, and Linda even had a selection of ice creams for us. The property itself is in a peaceful location, but still close to so many places, for example Hampton Court Palace is within walking distance. It was spotless and wonderfully maintained, the bed was huge and the attention to detail exceptional, even leaving duck feed for us to feed the ducks and Swans that swam up to our door. We didn’t use the Sauna but I highly recommend the Swedish Hot Tub, it made what was already a relaxing experience

Marija and her husband are the friendliest hosts we have ever had anywhere. Super responsive and would go to the moon and back to help. The place is beautiful, although some noise is to be expected from the battery on the boat. nothing we couldn't manage

We had a wonderful stay on Erica's houseboat. The location is simply fantastic. Over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and then this view from the terrace - just beautiful! We were able to really relax and unwind from everyday life. The houseboat is very lovingly furnished with lots of little details. We lacked nothing. The wellness area with sauna and jacuzzi deserves the grade 1! Erica is very helpful and communication in advance and during our stay was impeccable. All in all a great recommendation! We will definitely be back!

Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, countryside getaway in the Mazury region.

Just wow! This place is extremely special. If you’re looking for peace and tranquility with style & cleanliness you won’t be disappointed. The boat is just stunningly decorated, with huge windows where you feel like you’re in the middle of the lake. The decor is tastefully done, the bedding/towels smelt amazing aha! Netflix and lots of dvds for cosy nights in. It was warm as we went in the middle of summer but a fan was supplied. But being warm was worth that view. One of my favourite airbnbs, I’d love to come every year. Both hosts were wonderfully friendly and the pub is a 10min walk, with beaches a short drive away. Thank you!

My daughter and I stayed for one night to celebrate the end of her exams. Absolutely loved it. Dunstan couldn't have been more helpful and really friendly, lovely man. The location of the barge is such great access for Bath and although right opposite main area of city was really peaceful. The barge itself is really lovely, quirky details, wonderful place to stay. Would stay again. It's not the cheapest of places to stay but that's because it's so special and not average in terms of maintenance, water etc. Would recommend and have done! Will try to stay again.
