Birken Cottage - Holidays in the Herbsthausen sawmill

Our three one-room apartments — Ahorn, Linde, and Birke — combine the historic charm of Herbsthausen with contemporary design. Each apartment is completely unique and has been modernized by us. They offer space for two to three people each. The apartments are part of “Herbsthausen”, an cultural project in the town of Gartow. We are renovating a historic sawmill and transforming it into a future-oriented place for art, industrial heritage, living, working, international exchange, and relaxation.

Great outdoor pool nearby, good nearby shopping, sauna can be booked from September to the end of April. (€10 hour) On weekends only book both nights, no one-night booking. It's an apartment, Airbnb presents it as a tree house! Large staircase to the top, large apartment, large balcony - no shared use. For check-in, the door is open from 3 pm, the key is inside.

Our cozy vacation apartment in the small village of Bülitz in the Altmark offers approx. 70 m² of space for 2–4 people. The duplex extends over two floors and impresses with its quiet location and wide view of the greenery. Old walls, exposed wooden beams, brick, and clay plaster create a special atmosphere in the room and combine rustic charm with modern comforts such as underfloor heating and fiber optic internet. A place to breathe and feel good.

The Storchendorf Wahrenberg is right on the Elbe and offers an ideal location to enjoy nature and activities. Wahrenberg does not have through traffic. In the garden you can relax and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. Cycling and canoeing are possible directly on site or nearby, as well as swimming on the Elbe or on lakes. The spa in Bad Wilsnack and the beautiful Waldbad Seehausen are ideal for excursions. Simple bicycles cost €5 per day.

Kulturhaus Wahrenberg

Unfortunately, our farm is not suitable for excessive parties. Our house was built around 1850. The residential house and barn of the listed 3-sided farmstead are built with oak timber framing. There are 10 wedding linden trees around the house. In November, when the linden trees are pruned back, the house can be seen in all its glory. From May, it then slowly disappears behind shady foliage and stays wonderfully cool throughout the summer... 

Relaxation and time in nature

Sit back and relax – in this quiet, stylish place. Arrive and feel comfortable. Discover the surroundings. Walk endlessly in the nearby forest. Fishing on the lake. There is no central heating. There is a convection oven, which is similar to a tiled stove, but quickly provides cozy warmth.
