Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Roanoke

This is a nice little house. It is in a neighborhood with many houses close by, but was very quiet. It was convenient and clean. Furniture is comfortable. This is no thrills and no complaints house, great for the price.

Great place! Convenient to everything, exactly as described! If you’re traveling with a dog, you cannot beat this place!

Evan's home was spacious and a charming and lovely home to stay in. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom were private and expansive. Everything was clean and operable. We particularly enjoyed the collection of games and the bedside sound machines. The instructions for getting in and out of the driveway were easily understood, and we found communication was great. The home is conveniently located outside of Roanoke and made for easy access in and out of the area. Would definetly recommend for a family of four-six, and was perfect for us.

Loved the attached bakery/coffee house and restaurants within walking distance. After being at the Berglund Center all day it was nice to have a very private space to chill!

This place is awesome! It rained most of the time we were there, but with all the amenities there was plenty for us to do around the house. The dock is awesome, and it’s on a nice, quiet, spot on the lake. We hope to be back in the future!

Spacious home with lovely areas to relax in, individually or as a family. Lovely decor and set up for comfort. Small sitting area off of kitchen is a peaceful area to sit in the early morning hours. Desk area in dining room is a big plus if staying for several days. Thermostat and window a/c units did a good job of keeping home cool. Please note third bedroom is small (twin bed) with no window, and shares space with the washer and dryer. Although only one bathroom, it has two sinks, making bathroom sharing easier.

Bob’s unit in six words are: comfortable, clean, tastefully decorated, safe, modern, and equipped. There were no idiosyncrasies to get used to or feel comfortable with. It was just right.

Truly a nature stay! The creek was visible from our entrance and we even saw a deer close up one evening. Layout with the Jack and Jill bath was perfect for our family with 2 toddlers. The granola bars and popcorn included was also a nice touch. Living areas were spacious and clean and the neighborhood was very safe.

I had a fantastic time at Jesse’s place. The room was clean, quaint and cozy. It was the perfect place to come rest after hiking all day! Checking in and out was super simple. I am someone who likes to cook at home and the kitchen amenities were great for fixing waffles or making something simple like Hamburger Helper; some utensils like knives and peelers are not present if you want to cook something more complex. There’s a Family Dollar across the way though. I credit my stay at Jesse’s as part of my success in completing the Virginia Crown and I am super grateful!

Great place - quiet, clean, and spacious. Check in and out was very easy. I would definitely choose to stay again.

Such a cute little apartment! Everything was super clean and I loved the 2pm check in time. Paul was really responsive and proactive, and I had a lovely stay! Also shoutout to Joe Beans Express Espresso which is 3 minutes down the road and has an amazing coffee, tea, smoothie, and protein shake menu; definitely stop by when you stay here!

Brittany exceeded my expectations as an AT through hiker needing a quiet place to relax.

Glenna was so sweet the whole time! The place was beautiful! We stayed there for our wedding that was in Rocky Mount, and Glenna even put Mr. and Mrs. pillows on the bed for an extra personal touch.

Jamie was very responsive and kind!! Enjoyed my stay here, struggled with bug bites from some of the bedding but the stay was really nice overall and was spacious and clean.

The Don Quixote condo was a wonderful place to be based during our birthday visit to downtown Lynchburg. The location was terrific for regular walks downtown to eat, rent bikes and explore. For us, the highlight were the beds, wow, so spacious and comfortable, along with terrific linens and pillows. We also enjoyed being able to see the balcony from the rooftop restaurant of the Virginian hotel. It was peaceful coming home to Don Quixote after a day of touristing, and each night we slept like a dream :)

Perfect for dog lovers and lake lovers! I’ve rented various condos at Smith Mountain Lake and several different ones at Stripers Landing, but Shannon’s place is now my new favorite. With a great view, plenty of space and the option to bring the pup - it’s such a treat. Highly recommend.

We have stayed at Jessica’s place several times and love the location and the condo itself. The bed is so comfortable! There are plenty of things to do in walking distance, and the easy access to the Bluff Walk is great!

We had a great time! Kathleen thought about all the little things and we didn’t want for anything. The views were fantastic on the deck, we sat out there often. The living quarters were beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful time.

One of my daughters and I stayed at Matt's listing to just get away and be together. It was a wonderful stay! A very easy walk to a private and lovely beach area. Easy access to 2 great pools, a hot tub, sauna and even racquetball court. Our time inside Matt's space was equally as relaxing. Simple and comfortable decorations, all things desired were easy to find. Even had a dishwasher - that was a treat! It was great to have the top floor as the view was fabulous. Top floor did mean taking a few stairs, but that was not at all a big deal. We hope that Matt was satisfied with our stay, because we would LOVE to return (and other daughters are hoping they get to go :)!

This was a wonderful place to stay! Mary Anne was incredibly responsive and helpful at all times. The place and surrounding area was peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend!

We had a wonderful long weekend here, enjoying all the beauty of Smith Mountain Lake. We rented a boat, played mini-golf, walked along the lake, and ate great food. This condo is the perfect location to relax and play.

We have stayed at Katie’s place multiple times! It is in the perfect location where it is an easy walk to the beach, either pool, and the restaurant. Katie is so easy to get in touch with and helpful. This will be our go to spot!
