  • What an amazing find! We booked for valentines weekend to get away and experience the Zip World Slate Caverns! The accommodation was even more lovely than we expected, amazing views and decor - spotlessly clean and the hot tub with Bluetooth speakers was a great bonus and great in all weathers! Adrian was lovely and informative with lots of local tips but we were given lots of space and privacy - the perfect balance! A great place to stay regardless of the weather (Even Storm Dennis didn’t dampen our stay)! Close to lots of cute villages and towns, the cost, zip world and country walks! We are looking to come back! Thank you!

  • Beautiful accommodation, great views, fantastic location. We had a wonderful 2 night stay despite storm Ciara!

    Sinéad2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Adrian was great at making us feel welcome. We couldn't have wanted anything more from the lovely accomodation to the amazing views. The hot tub adds a little bit of luxury, sitting in it and watching the sun rise on a February morning was wonderful. Many thanks Adrian, Jane and Kevin.

  • Excellent place to stay. The house is wonderful. We had an unforgettable trip and the best memories of Wales. Gareth is a great host. Best recommendations. Thanks!

  • This house seemed like a home from home with virtually all the amenities a family could want, very definitely all that they need to enjoy a really good stay. Everything was very clean and tidy and all the appliances we used worked well. Being approx. equidistant from the mainline rail station and the Ffestinniog railway meant that it was a good base for a short stay using the local rail network to visit a variety of places. Gareth was around and offered to help in any way that he could, but we coped well without bothering him.

    Nick2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect home from home - cosy, warm, comfortable and clean and decorated for us for Christmas. The location is perfect -handy for the restaurants of Porthmadog and surrounded by the most amazing countryside. We will be back!

  • This is a wonderful house in a truly wonderful location. As much as we loved our walks we loved coming back to the house. It's exactly as shown in the pics, super clean, super warm, super comfy, with everything you could need. We just wished we had more time to stay at the house and chill there a bit more. We're pretty sure we'll be visiting another time. Thank you Melanie.

Modern, light, bright 'upside down' house. High-speed wifi. Cosy and snug with controllable electric heaters in every room. Recommended just for couples but with space for up to 4 people. Two bedrooms: a KING SIZE double room and a bunk bedroom. Open-plan kitchen/living area upstairs overlooking the Glaslyn Estuary and Ffestiniog railway. Porthmadog has something for everyone whether it be steam railways, mountains walks, seaside, dining out, bars, shopping or a base for the Lleyn Peninsula.
Living room, hall and bedrooms all have electric heaters which are timed to come on in the morning and can be controlled by guests via room thermostats so extra warmth can be provided at any time. The bathroom has a heated towel rail controllable by guests by a switch outside the door. (Winter only). Bedrooms are on the ground floor. The main bedroom has a king sized double bed, 2 wardrobes and a chest of drawers - the second bedroom has two standard single beds arranged as bunks with a minimal ladder, a hat rack with hangers on the rails and coat pegs, there is also a chest of drawers. Upstairs the living area is one compact open-plan area looking out over the balcony to stunning views of the estuary, mountains and sea. There is a small sofa, an armchair, TV, dining table and kitchen. Please note: Duvets and pillows are provided, but we ask that guests bring their own sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers as well as towels. There is NO dishwasher, microwave or washing machine. The price is based on 2 people sharing the house which we think the ideal number for the space and facilities. We do not charge extra for the use of the 2 bunks as we do not feel this would be fair given the limitations of the size of the house. Longer stays (more than 2-3 nights are not recommended for adult groups larger than 2). Not suitable for parties as there are many neighbours nearby.
South Snowdon Wharf is a private development next to the Ffestiniog Railway Station with no through traffic and stunning views of the estuary, the harbour and out to sea. Porthmadog has a lot to offer - there are shops, cafe's, pubs and restaurants and all services. There are sandy beaches nearby and scenic walks.
  • The accommodation was lovely. I woke up to a view over the estuary and to the snow capped mountains beyond. An amazing place and ideal location close to the centre of Porthmadog.

    Andy2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely half term week here in February 2020. A wet week in most parts but a fantastic view and lovely house meant we had some lovely days exploring and some wet movie days. The house ticked all the boxes we needed for the week and the Lynn was great on the communications and help side.

    Faye2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We went to North Wales in winter, though this year's winter was not really cold. It is a nice house, small, but spacious. Nice location with very good views. It would be far better in summer. Communication and guidance - excellent.

    Kamal2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • So good we came again later on in the same year! Really enjoy our visits to this space, its a gorgeous view in a beautiful location right on the harbour and next to the steam railway through the mountains. Its an upside down house design which allows for a great and spacious view of the estuary. The place is very clean and lots of entertainment is provided with games, DVDs and the TV. Wifi is good throughout and her local tips are great! The bedroom is well done with a super comfy bed and a lovely view out the window. Cant wait to come again!

    Cheryl2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic apartment in the most stunning location. The views are magnificent. Looking out over the inlet and surrounding hills. And of course it is located right next to the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highlands Railway. Absolutely perfect. The apartment is lovely and has everything you need. The beds were super comfy, fully equipped self catering kitchen and a good shower. Best of all it is located within walking distance of almost everything. We LOVED it and would definitely recommend to all. Thanks for having us.

  • Liz's place is absolutely wonderful, in an amazing location. Spectacular views and wonderful walking. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Hope I'll be able to come again soon!

    Marcus2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect accommodation in a brilliant setting.

    Siobhan2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very clean and fresh apartment with nice personal touches to make it very pleasant and welcoming. The views are terrific and the balcony great when the weather allows. The hosts provide binoculars for a great view of the mountains and wading birds across the estuary. The lack of wifi was disappointing but apparently the hosts have tried unsuccessfully to provide it. Good location for day trips or just chilling at the local pub on the harbour. The Ffestiniog railway and Portmeirion are both musts.

    Geoff2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent maisonnette in a beautiful and convenient location.

    Paul2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great apartment, all the home comforts. Although only on Airbnb recently it has been let since 2006, and has been refurbished and maintained very well over that time. The visitors book certainly backs up our feedback.

    Simon2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Liz's house exceeded my expectations, the photos don't do it justice! The house has the most amazing view from the living room and is really close to some lovely shops and restaurants with a big Tesco at the end of town. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom modern with a good shower and the kitchen was one of the best equipped I've come across with a decent amount of storage space as well. Liz was very helpful and easy to contact. The lack of many reviews on airbnb to date is due to Luz mostly letting this to friends who come regularly. I'm not surprised, if I were to come back to North Wales, I'd definitely like to stay here again.

    Cathy2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location/view makes this a fabulous apartment. No matter what the weather, we always found it interesting and relaxing to enjoy the view. It's is also very handily placed for all the amenities in Portmadog. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to return in the future.

  • Lovely house and host

    Sian2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lorna's home is charming and nicely decorated, and the view over the port is gorgeous. You get the best experience of Porthmadog, being next to the water. The place is very light clean and comfortable (with an especially luxurious bathroom!), and we felt totally welcome - Lorna was helpful and kind. She also solved a problem for us when we foolishly left a camera charger behind... Breakfast was plentiful, and a good chance to get tips for the day. A great place to stay.

  • Lorna’s house is beautiful and in a perfect location with stunning views. She was a fantastic host and provided a lovely breakfast each morning. Highly recommend staying here it was perfect!

A cosy town apartment right in the centre of the charming harbour town of Porthmadog. Only a 5-minute walk to the famous steam trains of the Welsh Highland and Festiniog Railways, as well as being beside the town centre for easy access to pubs and restaurants. Two bedrooms and a spacious living area with all modern amenities. Parking for one car in secure parking area. Great shower, fast internet and cosy underfloor heating. Perfect accommodation for town pleasures or country escapes!
Easy access to the beautiful Snowdonia National park for hiking, dog walking, biking and other wild or gentle pursuits. This is the ideal location for town convenience and wild country vacationing!
  • Exceptionally clean and well equipped apartment. Mirka's special touches of wine, fruit and welsh cakes were gratefully received. Position was perfect for the trains but unfortunately they were not operating in February but that will give us an excuse to return in the summer. 40 minutes from Snowdon but lovely scenery on the way. The Australian bar opposite the apartment served delicious food and a variety of real ales. Purple Moose a favourite. We would highly recommend Mirka's place.

    David2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Mirka’s place is well located within the town, tucked away so it feels private. The check in was so easy as clear instructions had been shared beforehand. The apartment itself is stylishly furnished, with all the facilities we needed. Communication was spot on and we even had chocolates, fruit and wine to greet us. Since the underfloor heating wasn’t working at the time, the hosts had arranged for electric heaters and had pre-heated the space - a really thoughtful touch.

  • I came down out of the mountains cold and wet with a tired dog in tow. I logged into AirBnB for the first time looking for an alternative to a soggy night camping in the rain. The accommodation is every bit as homely and comfortable as it looks in the pictures. Karen replied to my initial request for a reservation within minutes. Checking in was no hassle and Karen and her husband couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome. I would have spent some time in the evening checking out Porthmadog but to be honest I just warmed up and fell asleep. Spotlessly clean, microwave toaster, kettle, some cutlery etc in the room as lovely extras. Definitely worth a visit if you’re going to be in the area.

Tegfryn is located in the beautiful and unspoilt village of Borth y Gest. The house benefits from glorious sea and mountain views and has been awarded a 5 star rating by Visit Wales. Tegfryn sleeps 8 people (plus one cot). There is spacious living accommodation downstairs with a kitchen/ diner, a front lounge, a rear sitting room and a WC. There are 4 bedrooms upstairs; one king with en-suite, one double, one twin and one bunk. There is also a family bathroom located upstairs.
Outside, the balcony and front garden provide a glorious coastal vista across Tremadog Bay to the Snowdonia mountains beyond. All the rooms to the front of the house also benefit from these unobstructed views.
Tegfryn is ideally situated in the picturesque coastal Victorian village of Borth y Gest. Borth y Gest is located to the east of the popular Llyn Peninsular and adjacent west of the Snowdonia National Park. This pretty unspoilt village has retained its Victorian charm with colourful terraced houses fronting onto a horseshoe-shaped promenade that skirts the perimeter of this sheltered bay where small boats are moored. Amenities in the village include a two tea rooms, and a wonderful bistro restaurant all of which overlook the harbour. A short 15 minute walk along the coastal path to the east takes you to the popular tourist town of Porthmadog where there is a extensive range of cafes, shops and pubs. The views from Borth-y-Gest are spectacular with a panorama sweeping across Tremadog Bay to the Rhinog Mountains to the south, and the Moelwyn Mountains to the east. The views also include the wooded peninsula of the Italian style village of Portmeirion, designed by the famous Welsh architect, Sir Clough William-Ellis in 1925. Several beautiful beaches are within easy walking distance along the well maintained coastal path leading directly from the village centre. The sea is safe to swim on a low to incoming tide. The sands at Borth-y-Gest are of particular interest to birdwatchers as they are home to a wide variety of species of birds including oystercatchers, redshanks and curlew, as well as winter visitors such as goldeneye, great crested grebe and wigeon. Summer brings flocks of sandwich terns. Meanwhile the village is largely surrounded by woodland, much of it deciduous and dominated by ancient Welsh oaks. Directly to the rear of Tegfryn is Parc y Borth nature reserve. Parc y Borth woods is a local nature reserve long popular with walkers and ornithologists, and among the birdlife you might be lucky to spot green woodpeckers, tawny owls and pied flycatchers. An extensive network of paths will lead you from a public footpath running alongside Tegfryn through the woods to the top of a crag with extensive views of the Glaslyn and Dwyryd estuaries. The road leading into Borth y Gest is a no-through road so that the roads are very quiet, being occupied by local traffic only. A 15 minute walk to the east will take you into the popular harbour town of Porthmadog where there is a large selection of shops and restaurants. A harbour town with an impressive marina is situated on the Glaslyn Estuary. Porthmadog is rich in maritime history and in times gone by, it was a vital, busy shipping port for the international slate trade, brought down from Blaenau Ffestiniog. Both the Welsh Highland Railway and Ffestiniog Railway can be boarded at Porthmadog. The stunning location of the Porthmadog golf club is only one mile from Bryn Gwyn and Tegfryn. The links golf course offers an intriguing mixture of heathlands and linksland for the discerning golfer. Tegfryn provides the ideal holiday destination from which to explore the fantastic beaches, beautiful mountains, picturesque villages, and the host of activities Northwest Wales has to offer. An excellent range of attractions awaits visitors to Tegfryn, with wildlife centres, outdoor activities, train trips, historic sites, museums, fine gardens, golf and more to choose from.Several beautiful beaches are within easy walking distance along the well maintained coastal path leading directly from the village centre. The Snowdonia National Park begins a mere 2 miles from Tegfryn and is a magnificent playground for those who love walking, mountain climbing or just scenery watching. The Park covers 823 square miles of diverse landscapes. As well as being the largest National Park in Wales, Snowdonia boasts the highest mountain in Wales, and the largest natural lake in Wales, as well as a wealth of picturesque villages like Beddgelert (8miles). Snowdonia is renowned for being a very special place for walkers with mountain peaks, lakes, forests, rivers and coastal areas. The National Park is working on developing a network of walks and more will be added every year. In addition Snowdonia National Park has a vast amount of cycling and mountain biking trails suitable for all abilities. The Park also hosts other outdoor activities such as white water rafting and climbing.Portmeirion is a popular tourist village located just outside of Porthmadog, approximately 3 miles from Tegfryn. It is Wales’ 3rd largest visitor attraction attracting 250, 000 visitors in 2009. <Portmeirion was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village, which is now is now acknowledged as a unique architectural work of art. The village is now owned by a charitable trust. The village stands on a rugged cliff top on its own private peninsula overlooking Cardigan Bay. It is surrounded by 145 acres of sub-tropical woodlands and miles of sandy beaches. The village has always been run as a hotel, which uses the majority of the buildings as hotel rooms, together with shops, a cafe, tea-room, and restaurant. Portmeirion has served as the location for numerous films and television shows, most famously serving as The Village in the 1960s television show The Prisoner. The show became a cult classic, and fans continue to visit Portmeirion, which hosts annual Prisoner fan conventions. Further afield are the attractive towns of Criccieth, Beddgelert, Harlech, Pwllheli, Nefyn and Abersoch.
  • A gem of a property ,clean, inviting and with the most amazing views. A lovely home to base yourself in whilst you explore North Wales.

  • Tegfryn is an astounding holiday home! We couldn't believe how beautiful Borth y Gest was and the views from the house were utterly stunning. Having a cup of tea on the balcony and watching the sun set over the Tremadoc Bay was such a highlight. The house has everything you could ever want and is well set up for families and groups of friends alike. I would recommend Tegfryn to anyone and will definitely be back!

  • Not bad ! We stayed only one night. The host was very responsive. Very comfortable and extremely clean accommodation! It's consistent with the photos. I just need to point out that the room is in the host's house and not in a bungalow or an extension! (What we did not understand given the title and the price a bit high.) Otherwise nothing to complain! Perfect to stay there.

A fantastically located 3 bedroom end terrace house, with stunning views over Porthmadog. The house has recently been refurbished to a high standard throughout, and is a great base to explore Snowdonia and the surrounding extraordinary countryside. Boasting a modern fitted kitchen, spacious lounge, dining room and large garden, the house is great for families and groups alike. There are three bedrooms in all, sleeping 5 or 6 in total, and a shared modern shower room. There is ample parking off the road.
Three bedrooms: 2 double, and 1 single. We can add an extra "child" bed into one of the double bedrooms. Ground Floor: modern fitted kitchen, dining room, lounge, access from kitchen and dining room to the garden. First Floor: three bedrooms and a gorgeous bathroom - with shower.
A quiet area of Porthmadog, but just a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the main town.
  • A very clean, well quipped house in an ideal location. The owner was very obliging, and bought a new high chair and cot for us. All of Porthmadog's shops and facilities are within a very easy walking distance, and lots to do too in the larger area. Actually driving the car on to the beach was a novel experience at Black Rock Sands!

  • The location is perfect - just a 5 min walk into town (if that), but up a steep hill so something to keep in mind. The interior of the house was just stunning - very very clean, big and modern - just lovely. Sian, one of the hosts, let us in and talked us through all the amenities and then talked us through some recommendations for the town - she was really helpful and friendly and it make the experiwnce great. Would fully recommend - it's a steal at the price.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Tudurs place which is perfectly located to explore the local area of Snowdonia. The property is clean, well maintained and very spacious. The location of the property is on a working farm on the outskirts to Porthmadog which is only a short walk away along a picturesque footpath. One unique feature of the property is the Welsh Highland Steam Railway runs right past the farm on its way to Caernarfon and back each day, a great spectacle as the train steams past the gate! Another plus is the games room which is adjacent to the property, my two children loved playing table football in there whilst we prepared dinner! We would definitely stay here again.

  • Excellent location very close to Ffestiniog Railway and town centre of Porthmadog. Lovely view of harbour with small outdoor patio. Allocated parking very close to property. Accommodation is very comfy and ideal for a short or a slightly longer stay. Many things to do and see in the area especially if you are interested in the industrially heritage of the area. • Perfect spot on the harbour with an amazing view looking out at sea, we would love to have this house as our own holiday home! Great amenities and refreshing to be cut off from WiFi and phone signals to be able to relax. We came home every evening after a full day of exploring to cook our own meals and enjoy the space.

  • Lovely clean apartment. Stayed with my husband, 2 boys and dog. Very comfortable, excellent view over harbour. Lots to do locally, and Borth y Gest definitely worth a visit - absolutely beautiful. Loved our 1st visit to Wales, and hope to return.

    Nicola2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Location and views were fabulous!! However we did it find it difficult that there was no wifi or mobile phone signal as this made it hard for us when searching out places to eat and visit, therefore I would recommend doing some research before you arrive. Parking spaces were exceptionally small and the markings to highlight the spaces were faded which made it hard to park especially when it was dark. Water pressure seemed very low which made for a tedius, frustrating shower. Other than the above points, we really enjoyed our stay and I would recommend staying here!!

    Faith2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great little holiday apartment in an amazing location, with incredible view of the harbour. Easy parking by the front door and extra spaces for visitors were easy to find. The balcony was in frequent use when the sun came out!

Hen Gegin is a recently renovated 18th century “out kitchen” to our main farmhouse. The cottage is ideal for a couple and is separate from our house and completely self contained with a space for parking right outside. The area is quiet and very beautiful with only a short walk to the beautiful beaches of Borth-y-Gest and Morfa Bychan. Situated between Snowdonia and the Llyn peninsula there is so much to explore in the area.
There is a private seating area with table and chairs for you to relax in. We don’t provide a barbecue but if you wish to bring a disposable one you’re welcome to use it. If you have bikes you can lock them to our covered outside log store
The area is quiet and very beautiful. Although on the edge of a caravan site, the caravans are privately owned and it is rarely busy. A few minutes walk from the cottage is the Wales coastal path which leads down to the beautiful coves of Borth-y-Gest and the mile long sandy beach, Black Rock in Morfa Bychan. The pretty village of Borth y Gest is 10-15 minutes walk away and has a nice cafe and bistro. The harbour town of Porthmadog (5minutes drive) is a must for narrow gauge railway enthusiasts with the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog railways. The town has many individual shops as well as large supermarkets. The Italianate village of Portmeirion is a 15 minute drive away and the towns of Criccieth, Caernarfon and Harlech well worth a visit with their historic castles. Walkers and mountain climbers will appreciate the mountains of Snowdonia, although the Snowdon mountain railway is for those who would like an easier way up Wales’ highest mountain! Wales is an ancient land of myths and legends and this area is one of the Welsh language’s heartlands so you will hear Welsh being spoken in the shops and pubs.
  • We had a fabulous time at this sweet cottage. The location is great. We spent the week exploring the Snowdonia area and were lucky enough to have perfect weather for exploring the nearby coastal path (in both directions) and long walks in the mountains. The cosy cottage was perfect to come home to in the evenings after a full day. Branwen was the perfect host, quick to respond and helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean with some lovely personal touches ( milk, Welsh cakes, flowers). Thank you again it’s been a wonderful, relaxing, scenic week.

    Alison2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

Our stay was really enjoyable and hassle-free, would definitely stay again :)

  • Beautiful cottage. Perfect for my stay. Great value and Edna even left out some baked scones for arrival

  • Beautiful cottage, amazing location, perfect host!

    Ryan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was a marvellous opportunity to stay a couple of days in Edna's cottage. A very warm place, as our host's welcome ! Everything we needed for a short stay was yet at our disposal when we arrived : from butter to washing machine's tablets. It was possible to park our car near the house, so we were able to visit Criccieth through walking. It was really perfect.

    David2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic host with great insight into local amenities. Very welcoming and cosy stay

    Todd2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a great find. If your looking for a good value self-catering cottage in a picturesque area. This is the one. Edna put some thoughtful touches in, we were greeted by Edna on arrival and also found some lovely Welsh cakes and a bottle of milk waiting for us. This really is a home away from home and will most likely return to the area for a future weekend away.

    Josh2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Edna's place is really cosy, spacious, and with a very well equipped kitchen - we were only there for a couple of nights, but I could well imagine spending a couple of weeks here. The bed is so comfortable that we overslept on the first morning! The Welsh cakes on our arrival were a lovely touch, and Edna popped in to make sure we had everything we needed. It's only a short walk into Criccieth town centre from Edna's cottage, which makes it a perfect base for exploring the area. I can highly recommend this airbnb if you're thinking of visiting Criccieth!

A pretty, cosy cottage offering relaxing ground floor accomodation for a couple to enjoy the amazing views of the surrounding countryside and over to the Snowdonia Rhinog mountain range. Sitting room with log burner, double bedroom with ensuite shower room. All on ground floor. New this year private hot tub . Dogs welcome. Fishing onsite. We offer a home cooked meal for you to heat up on arrival by prior arrangement.
Cosy cottage for two with amazing views, log burner and hot tub. Guests enjoy a discount at our on site Fishery. Great location convenient for walkers and close to some great local attractions.
Situated in the grounds of country house on the outskirts of a small rural village on the edge of Snowdonia. Just two miles from the town of Criccieth with it's castle, beaches, good choice of cafes and shops. Three miles from the busy harbour town of Porthmadog with more shops and supermarkets.
  • Amazing. This is a fantastic cottage for two, close to the wide open sands of Black Rock Beach and only a short drive to the base of Snowdon. We were welcomed by Jane who walked us through the hot tub instructions (hot enough to use on the first night) and the rest of the cottage. The wood burner made for cosy nights in a very cold March, and we couldn’t resist the hot tub every night! It is totally private, and so close to the cottage. Jane was available at all times for any queries we had, and she provided great suggestions for walks with our lively Labrador. I cannot recommend this cottage enough.

    Peter2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage, great hosts, hot tub and wood burner made the weekend special.

    Derek2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was lovely, set in a beautiful quite location but close to all amenities. Only a 40minute drive to Snowdon which we tackled in the cold. After climbing Snowdon we returned back to the cottage and made use of the hot tub, with amazing views, followed by a glass of red in front of the log burner....just perfect! Lovely, comfortable bed with a nice, clean, new feel bathroom. Kitchen had all required appliances for self catering. Jane was so welcoming and approachable should we have had any questions. Thankyou Jane, Will definitely come back!

    Ryan2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Bwthyn Bach with our little cocker spaniel. The log fire made the place warm and cosy and the endless supply of logs meant we didn't have to worry about trying to find somewhere to buy them! The hot tub was amazing with incredible views, lovely for a winter's evening. Jane was a fantastic host and very helpful. We cant wait to come back and stay here again!

    John2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend break for my wife's birthday and Jane was a great host. Some nice welcoming touches and the jacuzzi and wood burner made the stay!

  • A little gem of a cottage, nestled in picturesque farmland close to both the coast and all of the attractions of Snowdonia. The immaculately clean and well maintained hot tub is a definite plus and a lovely way to unwind after a day in the countryside! Jane is a great host - we appreciated the friendly welcome, the little touches (fresh flowers, and dog biscuits and poo bags for our dog!) and a minor problem that we had with the water pressure in the cottage was fixed very quickly. Great breakfasts and lunches are available at the onsite cafe, a short walk down the lane.

Beautiful one bedroomed apartment with stunning views overlooking the Porthmadog Harbour and of the mountains beyond together with the Welsh Highland Railway Train running over the Cob. One large bedroom with king size bed, shower-room, fully equipped kitchen and ornamental fire-place (not to be used only for effect) very snug and cosy. Very easy access with only two small steps from the footpath and only a five minute walk to the Welsh Highland Station.
Castell was built circa 1850 for a master mariner with commanding views of the harbour ( to ensure the crew of his ship behaved!!!). Castell still contains most of the original features open beam ceilings and solid pitch pine floor throughout the newly refurbished ground floor apartment. Castell is situated in a quiet location but only a very short walk to the town with restaurants, pubs, Tesco, Aldi and many more attractions and shops.
  • Beth's cottage is welcoming and cosy, perfect for our stay in the Autumn. Beth was a great host and went out of her way to make check-in and check-out easy for us. Lovely view and really close to the town centre, train stations, pubs and wonderful coffee shops. We will definitely stay there again. Mary and Robert

  • Nice, cozy space for a couple. Parking can be interesting, but we managed. The flat has everything we needed: comfy furniture, a nice kitchen, and fast internet to keep in touch. Beth provided Barabrith, a local specialty. Delicious!

    Dawn2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay. Plenty of room and good facilities within a few minutes walk of the harbour/town. Really comfortable and had everything we needed. Beth is very quick with communication and information (not that we needed any extra help when we were there). The town is interesting with the steam railway and harbour and Castell Porthmadog has fabulous views across to the hills. We had lunch at Y Banc Tapas restaurant which was stylish and the food delicious. We'd stay here again if we were coming to the area which probably says it all. Perfect short break!

Stone cottage in the village of Tremadog. The village is located immediately below the high ground of Snowdonia and is on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. There are 2 pubs in the village both offering food and a restaurant. Small supermarket, post office and fish and chip shop all within 5 mins walk from the house. It is the birthplace of T.E Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia). His house is still standing known as "Snowdon Lodge". Great area for walkers, climbers and beach lovers.
My home is cosy and 'hygge'. The en suite room is spacious and contains a very comfortable king sized bed. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room plus a smart TV.
A quiet and friendly village with plenty of amenities. Good restaurant(Y Sgwar - The Square)over the road from 'Bodlondeb' which is the No 1 Trip Advisor restaurant for the area. Live music in the local pubs. Accident and Emergency unit 5 minutes away from house. Post Office in the Spar Supermarket. There is a Starbucks cafe situated in The Golden Fleece Inn open from 8am till 8pm

  • Terrific room with en-suite and shared kitchen in little terrace cottage. Lots of character. Great facilities, many breakfast options provided. Local maps and knowledge. Short drive to bigger town of Porthmadog with many cafes, hotels, restaurants etc . Great place to walk around but especially as it’s the station for Welsh Heritage Railway . We took steam train day trips to Ffestiniog and Carnarvon. Lots of walks around this area and Snowdownia National Park very close by car. Great pubs for good meals in Tremadog literally minutes walk around the corner so you don’t have to drive 10 minutes to Porthmadog to eat and drink if you don’t want to. Excellent friendly host in Maddie. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend Bodlondeb cottage and the Tremadog area.

  • Maddie's house is just around the corner from the cutest village main square we have seen in the UK. Maddie proved to be the best host imaginable. We really enjoyed our stay with her. The room and bathroom were good sized and sparkling clean. Every morning we were greeted by a table full of fresh fruit, cereal, tea and other goodies. The cookies in our room were delicious too :). If it would be possible I would mark her 6/5. Realy recommended!!

Bron Eryri is a cosy and comfortable end of terrace house within walking distance of the Italianate village of Portmeirion. There is a residents car park across the road, but you really do not need a car here. Bron Eryri is on bus routes and two train stations within half a mile. The location is excellent for exploring the mountains of Snowdonia and the coast of Merioneth and Lleyn peninsula.
Bron Eryri is at the end of a short terrace in Minffordd, it is a compact 2 bed terrace house, recently renovated- with modern kitchen, bathroom with tub bath and separate shower cubicle. Living room has dining area, sofa bed, armchair and freeview TV. There is also free Wi-fi in the house. Heating is all electric with night storage heaters All rooms apart from kitchen an bathroom have fitted carpet. There is no garden or parking space with the house, but there is a spacious car park for residents just across the road (see my photographs) Note: the house is on a road and there is some traffic noise
Minffordd is on the doorstep of Portmeirion, and is close to Penrhyndeudraeth (1 mile) and Porthmadog (2 miles). There are nice walks in the area to the Dwyryd and Glaslyn estuaries and there are also train stations for the Ffestiniog Steam Railway and the Cambrian coast Railway. Bron Eryri is on the road in the centre of the village, the road can be fairly busy in the daytime with traffic to Portmeirion ; but it is quiet overnight. Attractions in the area include Zip World, Bounce Below, Ffestiniog and Welsh Mountain Railways,, Mountain Biking, Snowdon and unspoilt coastline

The views also include the wooded peninsula of the Italian style village of Portmeirion, designed by the famous Welsh architect, Sir Clough William-Ellis in 1925. A short 15 minute walk along the coastal path to the east takes you to the popular tourist town of Porthmadog where there is a extensive range of cafes, shops and pubs. Directly to the rear of Bryn Gwyn is Parc y Borth nature reserve. Parc y Borth woods is a local nature reserve long popular with walkers and ornithologists, and among the birdlife you might be lucky to spot green woodpeckers, tawny owls and pied flycatchers. An extensive network of paths will lead you from a public footpath running alongside Bryn Gwyn through the woods to the top of a crag with extensive views of the Glaslyn and Dwyryd estuaries. The road leading into Borth-y-Gest is a no-through road so that the roads are very quiet, being occupied by local traffic only. The stunning location of the Porthmadog golf club is only one mile from Bryn Gwyn. The links golf course offers an intriguing mixture of heathlands and linksland for the discerning golfer. Bryn Gwyn provides the ideal holiday destination from which to explore the fantastic beaches, beautiful mountains, picturesque villages, and the host of activities Northwest Wales has to offer. An excellent range of attractions awaits visitors to Bryn Gwyn, with wildlife centres, outdoor activities, train trips, historic sites, museums, fine gardens, golf and more to choose from. Several beautiful beaches are within easy walking distance along the well maintained coastal path leading directly from the village centre. Further afield Black Rock Sands is located approximately two miles west. In addition Harlech, Abersoch and Criccieth beaches are only a short drive away. Further afield are the attractive towns of Criccieth, Beddgelert, Harlech, Pwllheli, Nefyn and Abersoch. The Snowdonia National Park begins a mere 2 miles from Bryn Gwyn and is a magnificent playground for those who love walking, mountain climbing or just scenery watching. The Park also hosts other outdoor activities such as white water rafting and climbing. Portmeirion is a popular tourist village located just outside of Porthmadog, approximately 3 miles from Bryn Gwyn. It is Wales’ 3rd largest visitor attraction attracting 250, 000 visitors in 2009. Portmeirion was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village, which is now is now acknowledged as a unique architectural work of art.
  • The views from the house really are breathtaking and you can enjoy them from the garden if the weather is good or from the many big windows in wet weather. Everywhere is super clean and comfortable and very well equipped. Borth y Gest is a hidden gem and surrounded by beautiful places, although i'd be equally happy to spend a week in the house drinking tea and looking out of the sitting room window!

  • Beautiful location 😍 Jane was fabulous helping us last minute. We had a fantastic stay.. didn’t even need to eat out anywhere as we had everything we need to make dinners for the family every night 💕💕

  • Beautiful house and garden the views are spectacular. Track up to the house narrow and can be difficult to reverse up to unload and load the cars. Parking on the street can be a struggle to find a space in peak holiday weeks.

This is a our family holiday home and although not perfect (still bits of decorating to finish) it is home from home and fully equipped for a great break away. If you love sitting in front of a roaring fire with a glass of wine then this is definitely the place for you. • Another wonderful stay at this cottage, we really love staying here as it’s so cosy and relaxing no matter what the weather! Perfect base for beach walks and close to explore Snowdonia national park. Thanks again for a lovely stay!

  • Yvette's cottage is wonderful. The description is spot on and the facilities are excellent. The description and photos really do not do this cottage justice. It is just wonderful and is furnished beautifully. In addition, there are lots of things to do in the house during the evening as well as being perfectly positioned for the local area. The wood burner made for some fantastic cozy evenings and it really does heat the whole house. Also, Yvette was the most fantastic host with great communication. Thank you Yvette, it gave us the perfect little break in those confused days between Christmas and New year!

  • Lived up to all the great reviews and more. Such a lovely, clean home in a fantastic location. So close to the beach and a nice walk into Porthmadog for many restaurants, bars and cafes. So glad we found this gem! Can’t wait to visit again. Thank you!

    Rob2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Property easy to find and smooth check in. Lovely and clean inside! Beds very comfortable and everything you could have needed in the kitchen! There was a shop and chip shop a short walk along the main road. We walked to the beach each day through Greenacres with our dog which was lovely. Would definitely recommend and I look forward to visiting again in the future!

The Barn has a kitchen/living room coupled with the Hayloft directly above. It is a first floor cruck loft with original wooden beams, double bed and en-suite bathroom. The cottage has its own patio where you can relax taking in the beautiful views.
Tyddyn Iolyn (meaning Iolyn’s farmhouse or smallholding) occupies an enviable location, between the Snowdonia National Park and the Llyn peninsula, secluded amidst farmland enjoying glorious mountain panoramas and views over open fields to Cardigan Bay.
  • Lovely cottage, very cosy, well equipped and close to many places of interest. Mirka was a great host. We had a really nice stay and planning our return already. :-)

    Annamaria2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • In one word: Perfect! We chose Mirka's cottage because of the location, the reviews and of course the photos of the cottage. Upon arriving at the cottage we were delighted with its cosy and homely feel. Cleanliness was an A+ and the little touches made a big difference. Complimentary: milk, fruit and even Welshcakes. What more could we ask! It was like a home from home. We will certainly be recommending this to our family and friends. Five stars + from us. Thank you for the perfect Airbnb accommodation.

  • Beautiful renovated old farm building surrounded by lovely hilly countryside. Close to coastal towns but also right on Snowdonia national Park for amazing mountain views, nature walks and outdoor activities. Not far drive to local shops. Mirka provides plentiful kitchen supplies to do your own cooking, and lots of information about local activities. The space is cozy and well furnished, and provides a relaxing stay in a tranquil setting. The donkeys and the dog were lovely to meet.

  • Cozy annex on the side of the farmhouse with amazing views of the full Snowdon range from the kitchen window.

    Toby2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation was simple but very comfortable, quiet and very clean and perfect as a base to explore the beautiful country. The view from the kitchen window is stunning and lovely walks began right at the door. The wi fi is occasionally patchy but didn't give us any problems. Good phone signal. Loved the power shower! It's definitely on our re-visit list :)

  • We really enjoyed our holiday in this lovely little cottage. It's in a beautiful location with the most spectacular view! Would highly recommend and will hopefully go back soon!

    Kay2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for 4 nights on our first trip through Wales, great location on a farm in the hills with amazing views of Snowdonia NP and the sea. Dafydd and Carys were very welcoming on arrival and helpfully asked and showed us everything we needed. The cottage was exceptionelly well done, clean and spacious for 2 person. The bed, bathroom and kitchen were very comfy and the little touches of cake, milk and flowers was very welcome. Highly recommended if you're visiting the area around Snowdonia and search a convenient location. We thoroughly enyoyd our stay...thank you!

    Melanie2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • There are few places on these crowded islands as free from concrete and plastic as Tallin is one such place: dark skies thick with stars, biodiversity, and the fascinating culture of Welsh hill farming. Dafydd and Carys Arwel are warm, welcoming people with a fund of local knowledge. Their cottage accommodation faces West, and has astonishing views of the sea, Snowdonia and the LLyn Peninsula. Surrounded by hills and pasture, the calling of the farm's sheep and cattle is the only sound. The cottage has a kitchen/living room, double bedroom and a cosy shower room, great after a day on the hills. It has everything you need for a week or two. Set high above Porthmadog, there is a winding drive up to the farm which becomes easier with familiarity, and is actually a fine walk, round a lake fringed with water lilies and through ancient forest. There are numerous other walks from the house, both up into the mountains, and along old tracks across moorland and through woodland. Nearby Porthmadog is a dog (and human) friendly town with good places to eat and buy food. Beyond Porthmadog is one of the finest beaches in the UK - Morfa Bychan, a vast stretch of yellow sand. There are the castles of Criccieth and Harlech to visit, the famous mountain railways to ride on, and the sea never far away. A wonderful place.

    Judith2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a place to stay while exploring parts of Snowdonia. This place was perfect. The location was out in the middle of the countryside. It was so quiet with beautiful views and simple accommodation. It ticked every box and I would recommend that you give it a go for yourselves. The hosts also made me feel really welcome and were on hand to ask questions or just have a friendly chat. Thanks Dafydd and Carys

    Darren2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend break, Dafydd and Carys were so approachable and helpful. Great little annex on a working farm. So well located for a secluded break. It really is in the middle of nowhere but we feel it adds to the charm of the place. It would be difficult to find potentially but guidance was clear and easy to follow and locate. So many places to visit from this location. Can't recommend enough and if we come back to Wales soon we'd definitely come back here! Thanks for having us

  • Communication was great, we were emailed a few days before with all the welcome information we needed. The property was spotless & even more luxurious than it appeared in the photos! The location was fabulous with amazing views and just an easy 10 minute walk into Porthmadog. We couldn't recommend The Boathouse anymore highly!

    Juliette2019-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful accommodation in a stunning setting. My family of eight over for a wedding thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Plenty of space to spread out and a marvelous venue for preparing and eating family meals. A joy from the moment we stepped inside the Boathouse.

  • Absolutely perfect...location, the house, the weather! We had the most wonderful family week and hope to return one day!

    Louise2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing place to stay. Views are incredible. One of the most serene and peaceful places despite being in a boatyard which made it fun and quirky! Beaches are only a short walk away. Some fantastic cafes too - Big Rock in Porthmadog is a must - bakery onsite is fantastic. Perfect location. Best beer at the Australia pub. Best Bara Brith from Tesco's! Whether you want to sit and watch the world go by, hike in the mountains, or go on a steam train, its all there and we will return!

    Richard2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning location, and very well equipped facilities within easy walking distance of pubs, shops etc. Very strongly recommend for anyone who wants to escape and watch amazing views, but yet be in easy range of palces to go and things to do

    Chris2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • We were very pleasantly surprised at the views and the accommodation which is extensive and well suited to a larger group. The town and local walks were very relaxed, in particular the walk to Black Rock Sands over the cliff tops and the Powder house. The kitchen and dining area is very well equipped and sociable for family entertaining. No hesitation in recommending if you want to explore the area and chill out with family or friends.

  • Amazing, Storm Dennis was raging and yet the view remained beautiful, and the apartment was the perfect place to watch the storm roll across the ocean. The local area is very quaint and idyllic (the restaurants in the local area aren't that great but the apartment has a fully equipped kitchen). I'm already preparing to book my next trip!

  • 5 star hotel quality!! My husband and I have always been a big fan of Borth-y-gest village and spent time there in the past. We booked our holiday at Holly’s beautiful house and we are regretting not booking it for longer! The booking process was very easy and the owner Holly was very quick responding to our questions. The house is beautifully decorated and as soon as we walked in, we felt peaceful and rested straight away! The owner has an amazing taste in everything and our stay exceeded our expectations. The house was very warm and we were able to change the temperature sometimes using voice command and asking Alexa. We had our cup of tea watching the beautiful scenery and the sea from the living room window. The bed was very comfortable and the beddings make you want to stay in bed all day! The whole house is furnished to a very high standard. The pictures on air bnb don’t do it justice! The TV is a smart TV - which my husband was very happy about, he could use his Netflix account to watch his programs in the evening. There is a very nice cafe in the village, right by the sea and we had one of the best breakfasts there. We loved it so much, we booked again for July! Thank you Holly for being a wonderful host. • Great find! We had a very relaxing stay (even read a book!). House is stylish, clean and very comfortable. Lovely views from the front of the house. We didn’t want to leave the house actually as rained the whole time we were here. It was so cosy with the log burner. Will definitely return in the summer as the beaches are gorgeous and right on the doorstep.
