Yes! Yes! Yes! Stay here!!!! Don’t even bother looking anywhere else. There is not enough space in this app to describe how pleasant our stay was. This home has everything we needed and then some! It was a breath of fresh air after staying in a mini-room in Oahu before arriving in Hilo. This was a very quiet, clean home with a large bathroom, large living space with living room and kitchen, and a large bedroom with tons of closet space. We could have easily stayed here a month in comfort. Save yourself some time, stop looking around. Book Tulpe’s place.

Super clean, excellent and pristine furniture. The garden and the surrounding were fascinating. I was surprised to learn that we're allowed to use the barbecue grill and the bon fire but unfortunately had little time to use as there are a lot of things to do at the Big Island. Hopefully next time! Thanks for the beautiful stay!

Lovely place and very convenient location!

Truly an oasis! Dana and Gregory are wonderful hosts and Rivendell was one of our favorite Air BnB stays. The apartment was spotless and well-stocked, the bed was so comfortable, and the hot tub was very well-maintained and heated quickly. Now for the best part! The landscaped property and waterfall made for peaceful mornings and restful evenings. We wished we were staying longer. Mahalo for the perfect weekend stay! We will be back!

We had the best airbnb experience with Suzanne & Lester as our hosts. Not only did they share their abundance of fresh produce in their huge yard, they were super accommodating and welcoming to our needs. We never ran out of the basic needs at the home. It was a pleasure and privilege to stay here. If you want a peaceful, cozy, and worry-free stay, I’d recommend staying here.

Liz had a wonderful home and was an amazing host! She was always very responsive and gave some great recommendations for activities to do during my stay. Her home was also a great place to stay outside of the Hilo area!

I have to say that the listing itself was wonderful. It was in a good proximity to where I wanted to go on the coast such as Black Sand beaches/ lauhalaland. I wasn’t prepared for the vibe in the town being so hippie-ish and seeing so many homeless people. I loved the room because it had everything you needed for a short stay. I felt like my car was safe overnight. We had a couple other people tell us not to park at the beach, but we left all of our suitcases in our room, so it wasn’t that big a deal. And it was fine. I guess the rule of thumb in Hawaii is to never leave anything out in your car.

We were very well pleased with the accommodations and the amenities. The house was spacious, clean, and well appointed.

Absolutely beautiful home, exactly as the photos show and as described. Located in a lovely neighborhood and a great place to unplug and unwind. Spotty cell service (as expected for the location) but WiFi was excellent and allowed us to make calls if needed, plus there is a landline if needed. All amenities a traveler could need, including beach towels, toiletries, and spices/cooking supplies. Loved the nightlife (literal nightlife like frogs singing the song of their people at night). We felt safe and comfortable in this luxurious hideaway! Would definitely stay again! Yvette was also a great cohost who offered lots of tips for restaurants and sightseeing! We found them very useful and her local insight made our trip even better!

A five start experience! Simon & Jeri’s place is a wonderful place to stay if you want to visit Volcanoes National Park. We were fortunate enough to see the eruption, and it wouldn’t have been possible if we hadn’t stayed there! The home is very comfortable, quiet, and well-equipped with everything we needed. My parents especially loved the water dispenser, which has hot water they needed. Highly recommended!

Peggy’s place was absolutely remarkable. We drove into the driveway and there were three Kanji pheasants standing around in front of the house! The wrap around windows let us enjoy the jungle landscape no matter where we were in the house. The bed was comfortable and Peggy even left us a pineapple, papayas, and apple bananas. The location was great for us—within minutes of Volcanoes National Park, so we were able to get an early start both mornings we spent hiking. Peggy was great at communicating, made recommendations for dinners for us which were spot on, and even emailed us first thing in the morning to let us know an eruption had begun! My husband and I both loved the place and it was one of the most memorable Airbnbs we have ever stayed in. Thanks again Peggy!

Everything was as described. We had no issues finding the place, checking in or out. Everything was easily identified. Everything was clean, organized, and not “cheap”. Sometimes you get some Airbnb that use cheaper stuff (plates, cutlery, cups etc) but these cups were clean and legit. It’s small things like this that are appreciated. Beds are comfy, patio is comfortable. Locations: short drive to gas and small local market. Short drive to volcano and hikes etc. Great base camp for the area.

My wife and I spent four nights in the penthouse unit of Jenn and Kristian’s beautiful home. We loved our time there. The unit was in good condition and comfortably furnished and the private rooftop terrace was perfect for early morning stargazing.

The home was very well appointed and the hosts were very responsive. Awesome place to have a relaxing stay. It is a bit far from downtown Hilo and we were there for Merrie Monarch so it needed to make sure to factor in the long drive time. But the property was peaceful.

We booked Todd’s place last minute after our arrangements in Kona didn’t work out and we are SO happy to have ended up there. Excellent host and house. Todd gave us great local recommendations and even sent us a note when volcanic activity picked up. The vicinity to the park was perfect. The house was very clean and well cared for. We especially appreciated all of the artistic touches from tile to mill work. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

I was there with my boyfriend for the week. The location was great! Within walking distance g distance to great restaurants and the best farmers market I’ve ever been to. The views are absolutely stunning. Watching the sunrise in the morning was so beautiful. We felt right at home. I would definitely stay there again! Thank you so much Carla and Joe! It was a little slice of heaven there.

LOVED this location and the unit! Gorgeous views of the adjacent park from the lanais and a great place for morning walks or runs. I also really appreciated the extra touches — the welcome basket, yoga mats, well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. Great value. I’d absolutely stay here again.

Maggie was very responsive and helpful. She had great recommendations and was flexible when I needed to add a night to my trip. The room has a great location and the balcony was amazing. It was very clean the bed was comfy and the fan combined with the AC kept it very cool. The pool was really big and had fresh water which makes a big difference. Overall a great experience A+ Mahalo Maggie!

The place was beautiful and really close to downtown Hilo. Carrie was very helpful and gave some helpful tips. Would stay there again anytime.

Linda is a wonderful host and has done excellent work in making this ground level studio unit clean and comfortable for guests. The condominium community is a little on the tired side, much like the town of Hilo, but it was lovely to come back after a day of jungle and volcano adventures to a clean shower and comfortable place to put our feet up. Also, the coffee that was left as a welcome gift was delicious! Thank you again Linda for your clear entry instruction and directions to the unit and very reasonable checkout / cleaning list. Staying here was my home away from home. We enjoyed the peace, sort of away from the busy roads. It was in the middle of a lot of places. They provided everything that we needed. Other than that, we will definitely return on our next trip here to Hilo.

I have stayed in a lot of Airbnb accommodations. This condo is the best. It it's perfect for one or two people it they aren't sharing beds. I love sitting on the balcony and watching the waves. I have been here multiple times and I am very comfortable here. Restaurants, market, and beaches are close and easy to access. I love staying here. Thank you!
