Monthly Rentals in Volpaia

You will be literally in History, that is, in a 13th-century castle: there are some drawbacks (such as the access staircase, rather steep), but the accommodation is cozy, warm and comfortable (especially if the weather is rainy outside, as during our stay) and the view of the surrounding valley is an authentic spectacle, especially in the early hours of the morning. In the immediate vicinity of the accommodation there are shops and clubs, which is definitely positive, since the village of Volpaia is about 10 minutes by car from the center of Radda in Chianti. Alessandro (assisted by Loriana) was an exemplary host in all respects.

Mattia was most helpful from helping supply a cot to stocking the cupboards with coffee, washing up liquid , oil etc. May seem silly but it surprises me always when a host cannot be bothered to even supply a coffee or tea for their guests. The house has two very well sized bedrooms, a good kitchen and the outside space was ideal for us. Also on a good road when travelling between Radda and Panzano. Veyr comfortable and very hospitable.

The stay at Paola’s place was great. It was clean, easy to get to by car, and has a small parking lot right next to the door. Everything was as described and Paola responded quickly. Would recommend! You should bring earplugs and be prepared for a slow internet connection. The WiFi is slow and sometimes breaks apart completely, while mobile service isn’t much better. So this is great for a digital detox.

Ill Casetto was beautiful. The space and the views were perfect for our family of 6. Everyone has their Owen bedroom with ensuite and there was ample room for another two people. The villa is perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need for a self contained vacation. We had some wonderful cook - ups in the kitchen. Francesco the caretaker was extremely friendly and very helpful no matter what the request - even assistance with a blown out car tyre and he speaks English very well - a lifesaver for us. You can walk to Volpaia ( albeit up quite a steep incline) - which has a couple of great restaurants with delicious Tuscan food and local wine. It’s a small , intimate town. Radda is bigger but equally intimate. Unfortunately you can not walk there from the villa - you need to drive. Radda is quite central to Tuscany which is great - but most places are a good 40 mins to and hour away so we did more driving than originally anticipated . A great stay and highly recommended
