Beautiful apartment stay in converted barn - located in small village with local Co-op shop only a 2 minute walk away, this was a perfect base for visiting the Lake District, lots of sights and great food within driving distance. Would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to return for another stay!

A fantastic stay at the apartments with my husband and 2 daughters (age 3 & a baby). We took our dog too. Everything was pristine and had fantastic amenities. Felt right at home, we will definitely stay again! Thank you

Enjoyed our stay at Kate's place for a second visit. Has all the amenities we needed and we can feel very relaxed there. Kate was very helpful with our booking. She dealt very promptly with one minor maintenance issue. She's a thoughtful host and there were fresh flowers, milk and biscuits to welcome us. We enjoyed chatting to Kate. High comfort apartment with everything you need. Best location for exploring the lakes with plenty of amenities all in very close walking distance. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was very nice and peaceful, with beautiful surroundings that made it feel like a perfect retreat after our busy days exploring the lakes. The kids felt right at home, which made everything even more enjoyable. It was also conveniently located, with train and boat rides nearby that made getting to the main attractions easy and fun. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway!

We had the best time staying here as a family of 5. Firstly the house is absolutely beautifully done (and spotless) and the space works so well for either a family or friends on a trip. The garden is stunning too! We were very impressed with all the instructions left for us, everything was so clear and easy to use. The location is superb, a very easy walk down to the restaurants, and shops and we also enjoyed the longer walks that were recommended by Cassius! We look forward to returning again in the future!

Beautiful property, well worth the visit!

Travelling from Australia, this was a great safe spot to keep our motorcycles out of eyes view on the way to the Isle Of Man TT. House was beautiful, spotlessly clean. Appreciated the fresh milk, and bread for a quick breakfast in the morning. Was surprised that we could get an Uber and had a great meal at the Fleece Inn and only cost £6 each way. Would be a great place to stay for more nights

Fantastic stay with dear friends in Ambleside. The house was beautiful, the beds were comfy, the hot tub was great, and it was only a two minute walk to the shops in Ambleside. Perfect weekend and we would all come back. Highly recommend.

Our 2nd visit to knotts view and it certainly won't be the last. Everything about the cottage is amazing and of such high quality, including the welcome pack! The views from every window are simply stunning! The weather wasnt the best when we were there but we still managed to have a bbq and several dips in the hot tub. All in all a great place to spend precious family time!

The drive to the cottage from easedale road, with around 5/6 gates, didn’t phase us at all. I wouldn’t recommend driving along the tracks in a hatchback, but in an SUV it was fine. Also currently in the middle of a drought, so no wet mud to contend with. As I’m young and fit I just jogged between the gates while husband followed in car behind. Check in was fine, the usual key box as with most Airbnb’s, which I prefer over a physical host. Cottage was great, lovely place, gardens and views amazing. It didn’t quite say in the listing, but the whole garden is shared with the other property - it’s massive so space isn’t an issue, it’s more that with dogs this means you have to be constantly watchful which isn’t relaxing - if there was a boundary like a small fence with chicken wire, you could let the dogs roam in peace with the doors open. The mattress was way too hard on the kind size bed for preference, and the other property had a 30 min shower at 2am so I didn’t sleep well sadly.

Great location, right in centre next to everything. House was clean, plenty of space for 7 of us. Views from balcony beautiful although weather for us not good so couldn’t appreciate that. Hot tub was a great amenity although yard it was in very small. Parking for 2 cars good but very tight to manoeuvre in. Great trip, would recommend.

We had an absolutely incredible stay. The setting is unbelievably peaceful, with sweeping views of the mountains - the kind of view you just can’t stop staring at. The apartment itself is gorgeous — beautifully furnished, immaculately clean, and really well thought-out. Everything felt high-end but still cozy and welcoming. The whirlpool was the perfect way to relax after a day exploring. The location is ideal — very quiet and private, but just a short drive to the lake and local walks. We explored during the day and came back to total comfort and calm every evening. The host, Julie was lovely, really responsive and helpful, and clearly cares about making their guests feel at home. We can’t recommend this place enough — it’s the perfect mix of luxury, nature, and tranquility. Can’t wait to come back!

We stayed at the Buttermere cottage 6th - 9th April 2025 with our puppy. The cottage was lovely, homely and had all the amenities needed. We ate in throughout our stay and had all the basics needed. The cottage was clean, tidy and had beautiful grounds, only a 5 minute walk to the Esthwaite Lake. My only negative was no sugar with the tea and coffee provided, but that’s my problem - I need to grow up and cut the sugar lol. Being serious, we had a gorgeous time. I would definitely recommend staying here, especially with your four legged friends.

Our week in this lovely apartment sped by too quickly! It was beautifully decorated with cosy lounges and chairs and very comfortable beds. The kitchen had more than we needed and all appliances were easy to use. The location was faultless - everywhere was so accessible from here! Pubs, cafes and restaurants were just across the road - where we headed after long hikes each day. We felt very sad to leave and look forward to returning one day soon 👍👋❤️

We loved our stay at Ruskin. The accommodation was perfect for our needs. We loved the design, comfort and usability of the room. The location was amazing, being only a few minutes away from the glorious Lake Windermere and its local amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hayloft. The property was comfy, cozy and well-equipped. We cooked both nights and had everything we could need to make a yummy meal. Right on the doorstep there were great walks, wonderful scenery and places of historic interest. We would thoroughly recommend The Hayloft to other renters.
