Halmhuset - The Straw House

Our thatched house is probably the only "Halmhuset" that is rented as a vacation home in Denmark. It is breathable, made of clay and straw, and is sustainably supplied by heat pump and photovoltaics. In summer, the thick walls provide pleasant coolness, in winter it is cozy and warm, with a room height of up to 4 meters. A real feel-good place for up to 8 people, located at the gates of the city of Tønder, close to the Wadden Sea National Park and the islands of Sylt and Rømø.

Outdoor thatched roof, interior unique design

The house has been newly renovated and has a particularly unique furniture with love of detail. The house has a large garden with fire bowl where every summer night becomes a beautiful memory. In the immediate vicinity (10 km) you are already on the North Sea and after only two railway stations you are on Sylt. Not only in summer is the cottage a popular travel destination, even in winter it impresses with its coziness to which the stove in the living area contributes.

The holiday home is located in the north of Schleswig-Holsteins, in the spa Glücksburg, directly at the Baltic Sea. From the patio along the backside of the house you have a really great view on a nature reserve with a nice lake. Nearby the house is a variety of good restaurants and there is a lot of space for your activities. Enjoy the silence and the peace in our comfortably furnished holiday home. There is room for families with and without children. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place. A climbing tower and a football goal are available. The garden is over 1000 square meters. There is space to grill, play or let your mind wander. The garden is completely fenced. Of course, there is also a baby bed in the house. The beach is 15 minutes away by car. To Rømø, about 40 min. Charging hybrid and electric cars is prohibited

An oasis of peace invites you to relax. The building, which was completely renovated in 2020, is in an outdoor location and offers you a mile-long view of the Dutch town of Friedrichstadt on the large south terrace. End the day with a view of a unique sunset. Explore the area on extended bike tours or cool off in the natural swimming area 350 meters away. The nearby Treene river offers you a variety of leisure activities.

My North Star

We modernized the approx. 200 m² vacation home "Mein Nordstern" with a lot of love for detail in 2021. We have the house equipped and furnished as we like it best. In addition to design classics, there are high-quality beds and selected kitchen utensils that make the house modern and cozy overall. Our sauna is brand new from autumn 2023 onwards. Sit back and relax in this quiet, stylish space.
