Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Keauhou Bay

Due to a change in plans and flights, we needed a last minute place to stay for four of us. The instant booking and self check in made this location ideal for us. The beautiful morning view from outside was definitely a plus.

Where do I even start? What a magical home with lush landscaping. Waking up to large windows that look out to the ocean was priceless. The location was quiet and safe and close to many activities we wanted to do in Kona. The beds were very comfortable as well. The pool was nice to cool off in after a long day but keep in mind it is not heated so depending on the time of day or sunlight it may be too cold for some. Also, being in such a lush tropical landscape with a large natural area behind the house there are birds and frogs making noise in the evening, which can be calming to some (like us) or can be too loud for others. When we visit the Big Island again this would be number 1 option for our stay.

Fantastic stay - best place to stay on the Big Island! What an amazing location, with a fantastic view! Private and relaxing, looking out onto coffee trees and the ocean. The place is everything that's promised and more. Great kitchen for cooking dinner if you don't feel like going out, an amazing outdoor shower, a GIANT TV for the times you want to just relax, and outdoor space that's private and tranquil. Everyone I communicated with was immediately responsive, and had suggestions for places to go (especially coffee farms), and responded very quickly. I can't recommend this place enough - we may be coming back again and staying here if it's available again! PS - the frogs: some people may love them, some may not like the noise. I didn't mind them at all at night, and had a white noise app in case they were very vocal (especially after the rain). Never did see one. Oh! And considering it's in the upcountry, no bugs/minimal wildlife, nothing to stress you out!

We had a wonderful 7 day stay. Our 3 boys (16, 13, and 10) spent hours on the diving board and in the pool. Sandra’s place had everything we needed for beach trips, including beach chairs, wagon, umbrella, cooler and beach towels. I was so happy to have a washing machine to wash out the sandy towels and suits after our beach trips. It was a 5-10 minute trip for Costco,-target and Walmart and a 30-40 minute trip to Hāpuna Beach (don’t miss the Malsada stand on the highway on your way). We would come back to the house to cook supper, swim more in the pool, and watch the sunset from the beautiful yard. We also got a lot of use out of the basketball net in the driveway, and volleyball net in the side yard. Sandra was extremely helpful with all aspects of our stay, including local recommendations. Would definitely stay again if on the Big Island!

Wonderful house and location for our vacation. So relaxing to sit on the balcony and listen to the ocean. Dave was very helpful and responsive, in addition, they had a property manager that was equally responsive. Beautiful setting.

Stayed 3 nights with our family of four. We were looking for a home base on the Kona side of the island before heading to Hilo/Volcano. This place fit the bill. It was beautiful, clean, well stocked and in a fantastic location. Andrea was a fantastic communicator and we felt right at home. Would 100% stay again and were sad to leave!

We really enjoyed Kathy’s condo. It was close to all of our snorkeling tours. Kathy is a very responsive host and gave great recommendations for food and activities. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Very good place to stay and nice amenities.

Best place we could have stayed. The amenities were above what we expected. Beach towels, chairs and umbrellas, cold filtered water, everything was extremely clean like what you’d expect at a very nice hotel. Spacious parking. Grill if needed and a full kitchen. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Great size closets and lots of room for all your luggage. Even the TV access was a great perk. So many local shops and markets to visit within less than 5 minutes away. If we come back, we would definitely stay again and refer to anyone else visiting the Big Island. Our room was on the third floor and it provided the most beautiful view of the ocean with lots of patio space.

Well equipped, we had everything we needed and the host was very helpful and responsible. We slept very comfortable. The area doesn’t have much walking distance but does have close places by car. We would recommend!

Overall this was a really great stay - the hosts were very responsive, the Airbnb was spotless, and it was well stocked with everything you could need.

My family and I were looking for an affordable, yet comfortable and welcoming place to stay during our time on Big Island, and this place did not disappoint. Right from walking in, it felt like I was walking into my own home. The tiny details from a personal note to welcome snacks gave me so much comfort and peace. The location is so peaceful and beautiful and the space itself was amazing with everything you need for your stay. Additionally, Lopaka provided beach essentials like chairs, umbrella and snorkeling gear. I can’t recommend this place any more and I will definitely be coming back here when I return to Big Island!

Mary’s place was lovely and served its purpose for our family of 5 for the 3 nights we spent on the big island. My daughters shared the futon (which was tight but acceptable) and my son slept on the floor. I wish there were a few less knickknacks and a bit more free of clutter. But that’s probably because there were five of us needing to find space for all of our things. I wish the lighting was a bit better too but certainly not male or break. The initial instructions had a different code for the lockbox, but then I found the additional instructions with the correct code. It was a bit confusing at first, but we figured it out. The pool area is simple, but it is lovely and looks out over the ocean. Some fantastic beaches and restaurants within a few miles drive. Overall a great place for a great price!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay! The location couldn’t have been more perfect. It had a great view of the ocean, sunset, walking distance to a ton of restaurants, coffee shops and along the beautiful coastal strip. We felt right at home and it was a great place to experience The Big Island 🏝️ Mahalo!

Charlie’s place was perfect for a weekend staycation. Beautiful ocean view, swimming pool was great, and a quick walk to Magic Sands beach. The kitchen was well stocked for preparing meals and the a/c was nice but actually the fans kept it cool.enough that it wasn’t needed. Charlie was quick to respond to any questions and instructions were helpful and clear. Would definitely recommend staying at this magical AirBnB!

Our stay here was perfect. Location was amazing right by the beach at a peaceful community, great for viewing sunrise/sunset. The place was just as pictured, very clean and had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Denise was very responsive and helped navigate any requests and questions I had. the place was really good. had a good view although it had a couple of buildings slightly ahead to either side of it. the community felt safe and clean.

Host is very friendly, environment is very welcoming. Overall would recommend to anyone coming to Hawai’i for the first time! Nearby to everything you need and is very clean. You won’t have to worry about anything if you stay here! 5 stars ⭐️,

Our stay at this Airbnb was absolutely fantastic! The location was perfect—close to everything we wanted to explore and offering breathtaking sunsets each evening. The space itself was thoroughly comfortable, with well-appointed furnishings and incredibly cozy beds that made it easy to relax after a day of adventure. The real highlight, though, was the array of amenities and supplies available to us. From beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas to Pickleball and tennis rackets, everything we could possibly need for a fun and active stay was provided. It was such a treat to have easy access to everything, allowing us to make the most of our time. Whether we were lounging by the beach or enjoying some friendly competition on the courts, this place had it all. We would absolutely stay here again!
