Ashwell Cottage is located in the grounds of our home, Ashwell House at the end of a country lane in the heart of the peaceful and tranquil Devon countryside. The Cottage was completely renovated in 2019. It has its own cottage garden, which in turn is set in the substantial grounds of Ashwell House. French doors open out onto a patio area with an outdoor dining space. The loudest noise you are likely to hear is the occasional passing tractor, and our own normally well behaved dog.

A thousand feet above sea level, close to some of Exmoor's most stunning locations, our lovely home has sweeping views of the Barle Valley towards Tarr Steps. Ponies, horses and red deer live in the surrounding fields while freerange chickens roam the road. The glorious hillside walk to Tarr Steps is about an hour and amazing Exmoor riversidewalks are a 5 minute drive away...as is the glorious sweep of Winsford Hill and sunsets over the moor. Ideally located for the Devon cycling mecca, the Granite Way, which is at the end of the road. A number of pubs, shops and restaurants are a short walk away. Dartmoor itself is also accessible by foot or a few minutes in the car. The sandy beaches of North Devon are a 40 minute drive away if you fancy a surf!
