Holiday rentals with lake access in South Lakeland District

What a hidden treasure! We absolutely loved the location and the space was perfect for us. Even when we had a slight hiccup it was resolved efficiently and with no disruption to us. We would defintely book again. Many thanks Kim!

Wow what a location and property! We were so excited to arrive and were overjoyed when our high expectations were exceeded! This really is a spot of magic, the views, scenery and local walks are unbeatable and the cottage is truly beautiful inside, with everything you would need for a luxury relaxing stay. We have already talked of when to return. Sunrises from the back garden were spectacular.

A cozy multilevel home with lots of character. The kitchen and dining area are fairly small/cozy, but they worked for us (5 adults). The home has beautiful views and a nice private outdoor area for reading/relaxing. **Be sure to read the parking instructions, and watch the parking video.** We didn’t and so our rental van, a VW MPV almost got stuck going up the driveway that has a sharp corner. A smaller car would be ok, and definitely if it has 4WD/AWD. Even the postman spun a tire on his way up the drive. You can walk to a parking lot at the base of the hill leading to the base of Old Man Coniston trail. It’s <5 min walk up the hill and to the right, from the back of the house. You can park there for £8 for 24 hours. Old Man Coniston is a nice walk - though be aware of the weather. It was misty/foggy/windy for us - and very much so at the top - which made it quite an adventure. We needed a phone/gps map to complete the loop trail.

Had a great time staying here with some friends for a long weekend in the Lake District. Really unique house, and easy access to great hikes.

Elizabeth’s house was even better than the photos—spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect, it’s in a quiet residential area yet close to the lake and town center. Elizabeth was super responsive and gave us a lot of helpful tips for local restaurants and hiking suggestions. Would absolutely stay here again!

parking for 2 cars was perfect. location was great and so quiet and yet in the centre of everything.

Elisabeth's property is a great place located in a beautiful area, that is extremely close to shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Located close to Skiddaw and Lake Derwent, you can leave the house and chose a hike of your choice. The house is equipped with everything you need and I will be looking to return when back in the area.

We stayed at Brad and Sue’s place in Coniston in June. Great location - lots of restaurants and cafes in walking distance and several small shops for essentials. We were 5 adults and a dog and found the accommodation really comfortable with everything we needed for our week. Helpful tips for local pubs, cafes and restaurants from Brad and Sue. Peter was very helpful, and the check-in process was easy. We arrived early, and when I mentioned this to Peter, he told me that I could check in right away if the cleaner had finished. That really made my day. The place was lovely, cozy, and quiet; it felt like home. Thank you once again for all your help. We look forward to visiting you again soon.

Ray and Sue were extremely responsive throughout, they met us and showed us around the apartment. They were very friendly and advised if we needed anything else we could reach out to them. The apartment was exactly as described, clean, loads if room, and we had very comfy beds. We had every item required in the kitchen, plus juice, milk and chocolate biscuits in the fridge which was a lovely gesture, plus tea, coffee, and sugar. Everything was to hand. We had a great stay, I would definitely recommend this accommodation, and our hosts Ray and Sue were brilliant. Thank you so much. X

A beautiful studio in a gorgeous location. Eric and Julie were very welcoming on our arrival, we will return.

Scafell View had everything we needed. There was onsite private parking so guaranteed an easy space opposite the property and the apartment is a good size with everything you need. There were 3 of us staying and it great base from which to explore the local area and the views are amazing, especially the night sky! Sharon provided clear instructions on how to find the property with some suggestions and helpful info in the apartment. The only thing I'd ask for would be a few more adult board games for the evenings.

Stunning place, inside was lovely and beautiful surroundings. We booked last minute and as 2 travelling with work so did not get to enjoy the place as much as I wish we could of!

Great little stay walking distance from the train station. Lovely, quiet home was everything we needed!

My husband, son, and I visited the Strawberry Cottage for four days and four nights recently and we had a wonderful time. It was the perfect size for us - ample space to lounge and cook meals. The beds were comfy so we got great sleep. And the location was perfect - just steps away from so many restaurants, the bus stop to adventures in nearby towns, and lots of trails around Derwentwater. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Our second stay in Ridgeway Cottage; we love the stunning views from the huge picture windows and the convenient location for exploring the Lakes. We may be back again!

A fantastic option for our week in the Lake District. Conveniently situated, spotlessly clean and well equipped. A very comfortable place that exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back.

One can see a lot of thought has gone into providing a well appointed residence. The location is excellent and Stuart's place has all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay and we would gladly return.

4 of us stayed at Penny's for 3 nights. Great stay-walkable to center of village-15 minute walk to Booth's (grocery). Fully stocked kitchen/Everything was super clean. Penny is great host.

Booking the boat with Rob was straightforward, and his clear, brilliant demonstration made it easy for us to operate the boat independently. Teapot Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. It was very well kitted out, decorated very nicely, and had lots of nice touches to make our stay even better. Lammisa was a great host - very responsive and friendly, and was happy to help whenever needed. There's great local amenities within walking distance, and several local villages and towns within a short drive, including Ennerdale Lake. The place was very comfortable, with plenty of seating indoor and out, with several comfy beds suitable for a group of adults. The only thing to be aware of is that the bedroom with the bunk beds has very little storage space, so if you're staying for a few days and have a large bag/suitcase - you'll need to find somewhere else to put it! Overall - we were all very pleased with this stay and we'd definitely book again in future.
