Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Cape Charles

House is very comfortable. Multiple places to relax, We also enjoyed short walks (10 min or less) to town, the beach, restaurants, and Central Park (dog and people friendly). Loved Cape Charles and Ryland’s house. Will be back.

Absolutely perfect vacation spot for a coastal getaway! We brought our dog and had a blast walking around town, to the beach, and enjoying the beautiful weather of Cape Charles. The neighborhood was quiet and in walking distance to everything in the historic downtown. The park across the street was beautiful and our pup enjoyed sniffing around! We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay in early May for a Girl’s trip! House was very clean and cozy. The back yard was nicely done with the sitting area, corn hole and fire pit! We enjoyed the front porch as well! Love the close proximity to restaurants and shops!

This is my third visit to Hidden Treasure, but will not be my last! Each time we come we stay a bit longer. 😊 I adore this house with the shark and mermaid theme and its peaceful location. It’s so nice being able to park in the garage! The beds are super comfortable and while not big, the house has everything my 3 dogs and I could need or want. There are trails cut into the wooded back yard that are perfect for pottying dogs after a day exploring or a quick morning walk. Sandi could not be nicer or more responsive to any and all messages. She is always ready to recommend local activities and restaurants and even shared some local history when I asked. We had zero issues so I sent photos of my dogs enjoying her place and the beach at Kiptopeke state park. Love this place!

Cute and cozy, this house has unique and unusual features because of its age that make it an interesting place to stay. Loved the frog song from the wetlands in the neighborhood and the proximity to various waterways and scenic views.

Cheri’s house was perfect for our family’s annual long weekend in Cape Charles! Everything was easy to find with her clear instructions, the house was cozy and had all the amenities one could need, and we actually liked staying a little farther from the action. Everything is a short golf cart ride away and the street was quiet and friendly. The game closet was such a sweet bonus! My kids got up at 6 on their first day of summer break—go figure—and it was lovely to have some new games to play until everything opened. We already booked for next year!

Rachel’s place was wonderful. She provided clear instructions and the house was so clean and welcoming. Only complaint is her bathrooms only had 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner, and body wash - if you plan on staying I’d advise to bring your own toiletries. Other than that everything was wonderful!

Wonderful hosts. Thought it might be weird staying in someone’s guest home with them right next door but was not at all. Would definitely return and stay here again. Place was very convenient to restaurant and was in a quiet neighborhood.

The Fish House is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay! My husband & I found it to be quite spacious for 2 people. The location was perfect; we were there from Sunday-Wednesday, and it was quiet and peaceful the whole time. It was conveniently located to Irvington, White Stone and Kilmarnock and all those towns have to offer! The A/C is brand new, and very effective against the Virginia heat and humidity. The kitchen had all the essentials for preparing food, and we appreciated the coffee & tea supplies that were provided! The bed is comfortable and we slept well. We spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking the water. As a bird watcher, it was so relaxing to view the local wildlife with the binoculars provided. Michelle is a wonderful host! Her instructions are clear, and checking in and out was easy. She also answered all our questions promptly, and thoroughly. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway on the Northern Neck, stay at The Fish House!

Good place, nice and clean, well maintained as Airbnb type, freshly colored, several things to make place beautiful. Everything was there as described no surprises. I didn’t have to ask for anything during my stay, that made stay so much smooth.

we had a very good stay! The place was very close to a few museums and within a 15 min drive to great restaurants and other attractions. The two bedrooms were perfect for a family traveling with children and the extra small child amenities were excellent!5/There were a few issues during the stay (WiFi went out and a small sink problem in the bathroom) but the host got them fixed immediately! I'd definitely book this property again!

Incredible place to stay at! Only 30 minute drive from VA beach. This is a nice, private and peaceful place at stay. 10/10 I highly recommend. Kati and Robert were fantastic hosts, who were both incredibly helpful and quick to respond if we had any questions.

This place is a real gem - quiet neighborhood with a porch overlooking the water. Peaceful, comfortable, and a not-overdone retro atmosphere. We highly recommend for a place to stay while exploring the Eastern Shore.

Clean and Spacious for Four people. Great kitchen Space. But could use a better couch Seating in living room. Bedrooms. And beds were great. Would rent again.

We had a great experience here! The apartment was better than the pictures listed and the location was extremely convenient! It was perfectly situated on the Main Street and we walked everywhere. Very close to the beach and such a lovely little town. Very family friendly and quaint. We also accidentally left a personal item after checking out and contacted Doug to see if it could be sent to us and he responded immediately and was extremely accommodating! Overall a great experience. The only little thing I would suggest to future guests is to be prepared to bring your own cooking essentials like, oil, salt & pepper and spices etc. as there weren’t any in the apartment. We mostly ate out but this was a little difficult for the meals we wanted to cook there.

What an amazing stay! I've never been satisfied with an Airbnb, the photos always are so much nicer than the reality - but Big Blue was actually even better than advertised! Merlyn's communication prior to arrival made things very easy. Accessing the unit was simple, and I felt safe with the self-locking doors. The unit was clean and so comfortable, with many personal touches - I instantly felt at home. I was overjoyed when I arrived and toured the unit. Really exceeded my expectations which was such a different feeling than all the other Airbnb I've rented over the years. The beach access was tidy and pretty, the gym and beach gear a nice touch, and the foot wash station was appreciated after my morning walks with the dog. I really can't say enough great things about my stay here. Hosts were friendly and helpful every step of the way. We mostly spent our time traveling around the area from VA Beach to OBX so I can't speak much about Norfolk/Ocean View. I would def rent Big Blue again.

This is truly a hidden gem in Cape Charles! We recently stayed for the long holiday weekend and loved every minute of our trip. The apartment is absolutely beautiful and the location couldn't be better. We enjoyed having the ability to walk around town and have stores and restaurants so close by. The host was friendly and helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. We look forward to staying here again!
