Shepherds hut holiday rentals in Darwen

This is the third time I've stayed in Katherine's 'shepherd's hut'. It is a beautifully situated, cosy and peaceful retreat from which to explore Oxford. Katherine is a great host, friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive. I'm sure I'll be back for a fourth time soon.

Stayed here for 2 nights for the bank holiday weekend. The area was beautiful, the Lodge itself was modern and very clean. It made for a perfect get away with the private Hot Tub and cosy fireplace over looking the scenic view. Lodge was very private and secure. They provided firewood and blankets for the nights we were there and hosted a small shop for immediate conveniences such as drinks and snacks. Their information booklet had detailed lists of local shops, restaurants and nearby walks which was amazing, it saved us a lot of effort in a new area trying to find things to explore. We didn't get chance to check out the farm they had with several animals but were lucky enough to have the farm house cats come visit us each morning which we loved!

Loved staying here for a second year in a row. The hideaway hut is tranquil and the perfect break from a busy life. Love nothing more than relaxing in the hot tub and listening to nature surrounding us. Thanks again for another perfect weekend away!

Celebrated our 1 year anniversary and it was absolutely lovely, we are definitely going back! Lynden was so lovely and gave clear instructions that made finding eveything so easy, love our tour of the farm and feeding all the animals that were so friendly! The room was really nice and decorated so beautifully & really appreciated the complimentary snacks. We loved the hot tub, lighting the fire for our marshmallows, and how close the animals got to us! Was a lovely place to stay felt so at home and welcomed, would define my recommend :)

Everything was just perfect. Very easy checkin, clear instructions on how to use everything, beautifully furnished with great amenities, loved that we could buy local produce too. Highly recommend staying here if you want to be at one with nature and have a few days to switch off. We will definitely be back!!

We absolutely loved our long weekend in the cabins, so peaceful and private with gorgeous across the valley. We particularly enjoyed the hammock on the long sunny evenings! Graham and Pip were very friendly and helpful, giving us local recs and have truly thought of everything - the cabins were well-stocked with everything you could need and were a delightful place to stay. Could not recommend these lovely cabins more for a memorable and characterful stay in the Brecons.

We stayed for long weekend and it was absolutely perfect! It is so much more beautiful than the pictures. Everything inside is exactly what you need and the bed… so comfy! We had requested for the hot tub to be heated, however given the heat it was too hot, but it was easily sorted. We also did have a few issues with flies the first night and were unable to use the hot tub until late, but given you’re on a farm we completely get it. We can only guess it was the sheep as they were in a different field the next day and the flies were almost non existent. The breakfast hamper was excellent! Also definitely recommend the Rose & Crown for food, the food was delicious! Would definitely stay again and have already recommended to family and friends. Lovely Shepherd hut which was beautifully presented and had lots of space. Brilliant views from the large windows, glass doors and lovely outside sitting area. We loved using the pizza oven. Laura was very helpful with all instructions. Will stay again!

This beautiful and tucked away Shepard’s hut was a perfect peaceful get away. Really beautiful location with everything you need. Annette made sure the whole process was super easy and smooth. Wonderful host and place, highly recommend!

The best holiday we ever had in The UK in 10 years we've been here. We celebrated our 2 years relationship anniversary and we enjoyed every single second spent here! Alphie, our 7 years old Huksy also had a great time! We managed to do a lot of walking, hiking and even found lots of blueberries up the mountain. Stunning location, nice little stream, amazing hot tub, comfy bed, very clean kitchen with everything we needed & a hot shower. Couldn't be more perfect! Highly recommend all year round to everyone who loves nature & peace.

Lovely stay! So peaceful, no internet connection and time to switch off! Only thing to note is it’s a hot tub without a jacuzzi system.

The most amazing stay! Every single thing was perfect 👏🏼 The hot tub was ready for our arrival, they had put up a lovely anniversary banner for us and chocolates on the bed. Bryony was really helpful with any questions I had prior to coming. The location and views are just beautiful. We didn't want to leave and cannot wait to return. It was immaculate and we had everything we needed. My favorite place I have ever stayed in. Thank you Bryony & Joe x

Myself partner and pooch🐶 were welcomed by Jane the moment we arrived. We received clear communication via msg ahead of arrival ensuring we knew all details and had a lovely introduction to the shepherds hut! We had some lovely treats on arrival and a stunning hut/view! The tub was ready for 7pm and was cleaned during our stay also. The fire wood lasted the duration of our stay and we made a fire each night. We were made to feel more than welcome. The hut is out of the way which made us feel like it’s just us and the wilderness! The pooch loved it. Lovely getaway! Jane informed us of nearby locations and even informed us of the ‘Strawberry Moon’ which was appearing during our stay which was lovely to see. All around amazing time!! Thank you so much!!! ❤️

We had a wonderful 2 night stay and just wished it could have been longer! The shepherds hut was really lovely with everything you needed for your stay(shower was better than I had at home!) and the setting in it's own cottage style garden,beside a babbling brook was idyllic! So peaceful and right on the Offa Dyke walking trail, which we did a part off from the hut, which very quickly gave us fabulous views across the area. Our host was great-welcoming us in on arrival and was on hand across the road if needed. Would definitely recommend staying here,we loved it!

What can we say! Cherry was so very warm and welcoming. The little extras she supplies. The hut is beautiful, and it was so peaceful and pretty. To just sit and hear just the birds bees cows and sheep was just magical. We had 2 bbqs and had the fire pit lit both nights. Saw a beautiful sunset, and was just the most relaxing weekend away we have ever had. We will definitely be booking again.

A lovely place to go away for a weekend retreat to relax! Beautiful scene and views. We took our little dog and the enclosed area around the hut was great for him to run around in nice and secure - the gates do have a little gap under so just keep an eye if you have a small sneaky escapee dog!

What an absolute gem of a place. Beautiful accommodation in the most peaceful surroundings. The hut was immaculate with plenty of facilities. Sitting in the hot tub with the most amazing views has been delightful. An absolute must to visit to recharge the batteries. Highly recommend this lovely hut - We will definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay at Helen & Chris’s shepherds hut! They are the perfect hosts—friendly, welcoming, and incredibly responsive. The hut itself is absolutely beautiful, immaculately presented, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could need. Set on a quiet country lane with stunning views towards the Malvern Hills, it’s the ideal spot for a peaceful countryside retreat. It truly has everything a couple could want for a relaxing escape. We highly recommend it and will definitely be returning in the future!

An emergency stay that turned into a tranquil lovely evening. Everything was as described and more private than expected. Dogs are welcome - it would have been nice to be able to let them off the leads in the area in front of the cabin. Would definitely recommend and the view over the fields morning and evening are lovely.

Jill was so accomodating and went that extra mile. We were there for a quiet birthday celebration and Jill gave us recommendations for places to eat and even offered to drive us and pick us up so I could have a drink. Couldn't have asked for a better host. The accomodation was so lovely and peaceful. It was equipped with everything that was needed and more. It was so cozy and just a lovely place to relax. The hot tub was great and added that extra relaxation after a long day. Would highly recommend and will definitely return!
