It’s a traditional and cosy place right in the centre of old Kyoto

A beautiful, authentic Japanese home. This was such a cool experience to stay in a house like this while in Japan. Beautiful garden, and a very large shower room, it felt like a spa! The host let us drop our luggage off before check in which was super helpful. Only minor inconvenience is that the main bedroom did not fully cool down, so it stayed warm in there. Overall, completely recommend and if we come back to Kyoto we will stay again!

Great apartment, very clean in decent area

Great location! Nishiki market was a 2 minute walk. Family mart was just around the corner. Everything was close and convenient. We love the free refreshments and some nice gifts when we arrived. We love it so much we’re already planning my next trip. LOL

Great location. Close to public transportation. So many attractions within walking distance. Very comfortable space you stay. Lovely. I would recommend staying here. I didn’t read carefully the messages from the host and I neglected to leave 2400 yen in cash as a local tax on departure. The host communicated clearly and politely on what I missed, and upon re-reading it should have been clear to me. This is a small fee, and I was able to correct this and pay through Airbnb. My apologies to this generous host. Stay here in your next trip to Kyoto.

Fantastic Location and Authentic Experience! This traditional Japanese home was the perfect base for our family of five in Kyoto. We had plenty of space for both our luggage and sleeping arrangements. The house is ideally located—just a 3–4 minute walk to Shijo Station and about 6–8 minutes to Nishiki Market. The hosts were excellent with communication and offered thoughtful local recommendations. Staying here gave us a genuine sense of how locals live in a classic Japanese setting. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic Kyoto experience!!

My family of 4 absolutely loved this charming, traditional home located within walking distance of many Kyoto attractions. Our 2 hosts were attentive, kind and made us feel at home. One of the coolest places we stayed during our 16 day trip. We’d definitely stay again!

Our stay here was absolutely perfect! The apartment was impeccably clean and cozy, well stocked and we loved the amenities they provided. The hosts were also very clear in the directions and responsive, thank you!

We had a good stay. Mineral noise since it was in a residential area. Walkable to public transit and Nishiki Market. AC was very good. Washer and dryer worked well for small loads.

We stayed 3 weeks at Saki’s and had a great time. The location is excellent as it is close to some amazing restaurants, Nijo castle and less than 10 minutes walk to Nijo station. Saki was incredibly helpful and available at all times and the accommodation was well equipped. Highly recommend !

Great location close to Kyoto station and Gion. Walkable to nearby attractions. Easy to get an uber and bus.

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in diesem schönen Apartment. Es liegt sehr zentral, ist groß und mit allem nötigen ausgestattet (inkl. Waschmaschine). Die Gastgeber sind überaus freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt. Das Apartment befindet sich allerdings auf der 4.Etage ohne Aufzug. Für uns war das kein Problem aber man sollte es beachten. Falls wir nochmal in Kyoto sind, kommen wir gerne wieder!

We enjoyed our stay in Kyoto. It was in a great location and we were able to get to everything fairly easily. The space was small, and there is not space for oversized luggage. We carefully laid them on the bathroom floor near the windows and that still gave us enough space to move about. The rest of the flooring is tatami mats so you need to be very carefulnot to roll luggage on it. You also have to walk up a narrow stepped staircase for 3 floors to make it to the room so please keep that in mind. It had beautiful traditional japanese touches that made it stand out. The open air bath was a lovely feature and I especially enjoyed that. It also has a door for privacy. My husband and I did notice that it is not possible to fill the bathtub while the shower was on, so I would suggest filling the bathtub before you shower. Keep these things in mind when you are deciding if it's right for you. Overall, it was lovely and the japanese beds helped our bodies recover from each day of walking.

Our host was polite and responded very quickly to our questions. The place was spotless clean when we got there and thank God for the elevator! We found it very easy to move around Kyoto from Playzendo. Its location worked really well for us. Highly recommended. We'll come back! Thanks Playzendo Kyoto!!

The Kyoto apartment was well positioned, close to several bus lines and only about a five minute walk from the river and many restaurants and bars. The washing machine was appreciated and it felt more down to earth to get the experience of a proper apartment while on our travels. The hosts were very communicative and made us feel well hosted.

The host is the most amazing and kind hosts I have been across in my 9 years of being with Airbnb. He picked us up from the station since we had large bags and a baby stroller. We had a good time at his cafe where he hosted breakfast for, he also had fruits ready for us when we arrived. The location is also simply perfect in terms of connectivity to public transport, restaurants and supermarkets. We hope we can stay here whenever we visit Japan again.

We had a great time at this apartment! This was the perfect place to stay in Kyoto. there is a ton to do in the immediate area around the neighborhood and May was an amazing host!

ที่พักหาง่าย ใกล้รถบัสมากๆเสียดายแค่ยังห่างสถานีรถไฟพอสมควร แต่แถวที่พักร้านอาหารเยอะและเปิดดึกด้วย มีทั้ง Macdonald และ ข้าวหน้าเนื้อที่เปิด 24ชม. Starbucks ที่เปิดดึก ไม่ว่าจะกลับมาดึกแค่ไหนก็ไม่ต้องห่วงเรื่องของกินเลย(แต่ระวังรถบัสหมด)

Convenient location and within a 8 minute walk to Kyoto Station. Room appeared to have more space than the photos displayed but very comfortable for a family of 5. Check in/check out process was easy and as advised. If you’re looking for a place that is convenient, clean and budget friendly, then you’re in luck. I would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Kyoto!

Good machiya type of stay. Surely recommend to everyone who is looking for a proper Japanese type of home experience
