This is the ideal spot for your stay in Kyoto! It's just a stone's throw from the train station and the local shopping mall, making it incredibly convenient. We rented bikes nearby, allowing us to easily explore the beautiful city. The apartment is equipped with top-notch appliances, and the host has anticipated every need to ensure your comfort. Communication with the host was outstanding. I would definitely come back without hesitation!

A beautiful, authentic Japanese home. This was such a cool experience to stay in a house like this while in Japan. Beautiful garden, and a very large shower room, it felt like a spa! The host let us drop our luggage off before check in which was super helpful. Only minor inconvenience is that the main bedroom did not fully cool down, so it stayed warm in there. Overall, completely recommend and if we come back to Kyoto we will stay again!

Great apartment, very clean in decent area

We’ve been at a lot of air bnb’s around the world, separately, together, with and without kids. This was our favorite of all time. Mostly due to Christian’s personality and knowledge, but in addition the house and location were exactly what we wanted: a traditional house in a quiet area. Christian is beyond accommodating and helpful, he is simply the best and we are so thankful to him and his family for everything they did to make our trip special and memorable. His local restaurant and activities recommendations were amazing. Highly recommend 11/10 A+++++ a million stars would return in a heartbeat. Thank you, Bishamon house!!

We had a great five-night stay as a family of three. The apartment was exactly as described and fit us well — it felt a bit tight by the end, but that was mostly due to the shopping bags piling up! The location is very convenient, just a short walk from Kyoto Station. While we didn’t use it, the small kitchenette looked well-equipped for basic meals. What really stood out was our host, Mr. Yoneda. He was incredibly kind and responsive, even meeting us on the street late at night to make sure we found the place without trouble. He gave us a thorough tour of the apartment and even had a sweet surprise for our daughter. If you’re looking for a ryokan-style stay in Kyoto that’s affordable, comfortable, and comes with a fantastic host — this is a great choice.

The hosts were amazing and helped us to make reservations. (you need dinner reservations if you want to eat!) Communication was clear and instant. The space is beautiful, better than the photos. The beds were comfortable. The washing machine was a huge plus. The garden in-between the spaces is beautiful. The location is near public transportation, And enough off the beaten path the we didn't feel like we were trapped in a tourist zone. We rented bikes from a place down the street which was super fun. And there is delicious pizza 2 doors down- we thought no way are we eating Pizza in Japan and yet at one point we didn't want to go anywhere and it was right there. Delicious! I highly recommend staying at a day in Khaki. It was fantastic!

This Japanese-style house is incredibly charming, complete with a quaint small garden. The interior is flawlessly clean and immaculately maintained. The location is outstanding, featuring a taxi stop in close proximity and a short 3-4 minute walk to the subway station, convenience stores, and the iconic Higashi Hongan-ji Temple. Atsushi is, without question, the most generous host we have had the pleasure of meeting. When we arrived in Kyoto earlier than expected due to a time difference, he kindly accommodated our early check-in and warmly welcomed us in person. Additionally, he created paper art for our children, showcasing his exceptional warmth and hospitality. We had a wonderful time at this property and would unquestionably return if we visit Kyoto again.

We spent 5 days in Ikuyo's apartment at the end of our trip to Japan. It was the most spacious accommodation we had during our trip, perfect for us as a family. We were delighted with the possibility of cooking food and the large table. We also found the furnishings to be well thought-out and practical, with various options for storing or hanging things. You can quickly get from the train station to the apartment, and the connection to attractions is good. The street is really loud, as already mentioned in other comments. Even with the windows closed, you can hear the traffic. We still slept well, and the air conditioning provided pleasant temperatures.

I tend to prefer staying in Air BnBs over hotels and this place reminds me why. I have rarely come across a place so pleasing. The accommodation is so comfortable and easy to reach. Kyoto Station is roughly a 10-15 min walk but there were plenty of options to jump on the bus, that would take you to all the main spots in Kyoto. I loved my interaction with Noami and she made me feel right at home. I wished I had stayed for longer. Will definitely recommend this place to others if they are visiting Kyoto. a beautiful accommodation in a beautiful city.

Perfect place and location!

Our host was polite and responded very quickly to our questions. The place was spotless clean when we got there and thank God for the elevator! We found it very easy to move around Kyoto from Playzendo. Its location worked really well for us. Highly recommended. We'll come back! Thanks Playzendo Kyoto!!

Wincent was a wonderful host. His place was very clean and perfect for our stay in Kyoto. Easy access to bus and train stations made it a breeze to travel to all the amazing places in Kyoto. It was also very easy to walk to the bustling parts of town, but very quiet back at the apartment. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay in this very clean and comfortable home, which had everything we needed—whether we were relaxing inside or heading out to explore. After a week of travel, we especially appreciated having laundry facilities and helpful supplies on hand. The space felt roomy for the two of us, especially compared to other places we’ve stayed in Japan. May and Milan were very responsive, and the detailed instructions made it easy to use the Japanese appliances. The location was excellent, just a 10-15 minute walk to Nishiki Market, with plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby. We’d love to return and would happily stay at May’s place again!

The Kyoto apartment was well positioned, close to several bus lines and only about a five minute walk from the river and many restaurants and bars. The washing machine was appreciated and it felt more down to earth to get the experience of a proper apartment while on our travels. The hosts were very communicative and made us feel well hosted.

The host is the most amazing and kind hosts I have been across in my 9 years of being with Airbnb. He picked us up from the station since we had large bags and a baby stroller. We had a good time at his cafe where he hosted breakfast for, he also had fruits ready for us when we arrived. The location is also simply perfect in terms of connectivity to public transport, restaurants and supermarkets. We hope we can stay here whenever we visit Japan again.
