Gilleleje Church was a waiting place for Jews until they could be transported. In 1943, 75 Jews were caught by the Gestapo on the church ceiling after a snitch had informed the Germans. Everywhere there are monuments of historical events. Every year there are various festivals in Gilleleje - "Hill" Festival, Harbour Festival, Jazz at the port and The Herring Day. Die Nachbarschaft ist sehr ruhig und das Grundstück ist komplett eingewachsen, so dass man hier einen völlig ungestörten Urlaub verbringen kann. Das ganze Haus ist in skandinavischem Stil eingerichtet, seit diesem Sommer mit Kaminofen. Eine große, überdachte Holzterasse lädt bei jedem Wetter zum Essen im Freien.
