Shepherds hut holiday rentals in Cumbria

Wonderful stay. Perfect place for 3 people and our JR dog. Haltwhistle is great for shopping. It's a perfect setting to walk along Hadrians wall. Stella made sure we were right at home. Everything was thought of. Many thanks would return if in Northumberland again.

Nice & quiet, shepherds hut was compact & cosy. 3 of us stayed for a night and we slept brilliantly, we didn't need heating but we imagine the log burner would of been lovely in winter. All told, a great place to get your head down with everything you need for a stay for a couple of nights or just a stopover.

Lovely hut, the kids had a fun night in the bunk bed. Great to have shower room.

Ben's Shepherds Hut was cosy, comfy and had everything we needed for our little home from home on our trip. Beautiful setting - you instantly relax. The hut is lovely and had everything we needed. The private hot shower and toilet was fabulous to have. We have stayed in others that don't have this luxury for double the price)! The beds were comfy and our wee girl loved the bunk bed! the two radiators made the place toasty in no time at all - needed them only 1 night when the rain battered and the North winds blew! It felt so safe and cosy in the hut. Andrew and his wife are so lovely - we were even offered fresh rolls and sausage from the clay pigeon shooting day that they had on that we weren't part of! 😊 We will be back very soon! Our wee girl said she wanted her whole summer holidays here and cuddled her bunk bed before she left! 🤣🥰

This is the third time I’ve visited Andrew’s shepherd’s hut and yet again I wasn’t disappointed living up to the photos and description. The linen, towels and accommodation are all spotlessly clean. I’ve never stayed anywhere more than once but I’ll come back here time and again. It’s a perfect location to relax and unwind or for exploring the county. I’d thoroughly recommend.

Very cosy shepherds hut with all you could need - stayed with 2 dogs so was great to have an enclosed area for them to relax in too!

Peaceful and relaxing stay in outstanding beauty. Beautiful, clean and cleverly designed little hut with everything you needed along with additional touches and a fantastic basket of breakfast goodies!

Great wee place to stay, unfortunately weather wasn’t on our side so couldn’t take in all the beauty of the landscape but would definitely return

The hut was one of the most charming places we’d ever stayed. The attention to detail was amazing and had everything we needed- we cooked up a feast! Scott was nothing short of amazing and helpful. The weather wasn’t great so we were able to check in a little earlier and he also helped fix my partners car before we left. 11/10 host! The surrounding areas were amazing for hiking too. A magical stay!

What a beautiful place with such amazing views! Julie greeted us with a warm welcome, she was very friendly and helpful. The shepherd’s hut was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely return and highly recommend it!

I felt so relaxed as soon as we arrived, the bathtub was definitely a thing of dreams and I will be looking to get one like that. The small details and goodies added so much charm. (We really loved the flapjacks.) It was a shame that the weather wasn’t on our side with the stars but it’s an excuse to go back again!!! So much light and warmth it was honestly so perfect, and such great views. It was nice to spend time away from phones and actually enjoy each other’s company in what I would call it as a slice of heaven.

Amazing place. A little cozy if you are bringing a medium/ big four legged friend. But otherwise it had all the essentials for a pleasant stay, it was very clean and well maintained. The check in was super flexible, which is a plus, and we received very clear instructions of how to find the place. Amazing views too!

We had the most amazing weekend at the hut! It is in a gorg picturesque location with a really nice traditional pub in walking distance. It is also a short drive away from Hebden bridge which is such a lovely town to have a mooch around, we had a really nice Sunday dinner there at a pub called ‘the old gate’ which was recommended to us by Chris in our welcome pack! Chris is a fab host! We were welcomed by brownies & fresh flowers in the hut on arrival as well as marshmallows to toast on the fire which was such a lovely touch! Couldn’t recommend staying here enough! & my dog loved it here just as much as we did!! We would definitely return☺️

A lovely, clean and simple pod in a peaceful garden setting. Watching the squirrels scampering around and playing in the trees was such a treat!

We honestly had the best stay here! The whole place was immaculate and so carefully thought out, perfectly clean and has everything you need. The hosts left us some lovely little treats on arrival which was so thoughtful and kind, the outside space is beautiful and perfect for a summer evening with the fire lit. The windows let in so much natural light and the furnishings were comfortable and clean. Genuinely such a perfect weekend, I cannot fault anything! Definitely worth the stay as long as you don’t mind driving to travel to other places. Thank you so much for making it such an enjoyable weekend :)

What a gorgeous little hut! 😍 we had such a lovely time, looking out at gorgeous views. We got to experience the thunderstorm and it was so cosy with all our little treats supplied for us. We even got visited by a cute little jack russel (who I nearly took home with me) so sweet! We would definitely return again. 10/10 Thankyou for having us! 🥰

Beautiful little place that is cozy and peaceful. The kitchen had all the essentials that you might need to cook an evening meal or make lunch for a picnic. The bed was very comfy, we slept very well. The host, Ashley, recommended a lovely little walk to a reservoir and was very easy to get in touch with. Thank you for such a lovely homely stay :)

Brilliant stay, host extremely helpfully and had set the hut up beautifully. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away for a few days in peace and quiet.

Thank you for having us Richard, we loved the shepherds hut and location. We enjoyed watching the birds and visiting RSPB Camp Fieldmarsh a stones throw away. Was so happy to see the hut was left warm, fire set up and thoughtful touches such as dog biscuits, bird spotting guide. I wished we could have stayed for longer as it would be lovely to enjoy the garden more and make use of the bbq in the summer.

The place is soooooo beautiful. If you need some relax and a beautiful view, you need to stay here. I didn’t want to leave.

Lovely Sheppard hut! We stay only one night but we love it very much. We went for a walk up to binsey as recommended, lovely walk through the hills. The hut is cleaned and cosy. Jemima was really friendly and proactive. We felt right at home. We will be back!
