Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in East Devon District

We wanted a last minute place for the bank holiday and what a wonderful place it was! Julia’s farm was lovely the setting was amazing. Peaceful, stunning views and lots of friendly animals. Julia herself was a great host nothing was too much trouble. Everything from showing us around, tips with the hot tub and ideas for what we could do throughout the days. We’d love to go back for a night or five. Would highly recommend

Lovely cottage, exactly as described with cats and quirks, cute and old with lots of character. Cats were lovely, even the slightly grumpy one, breakfast was well above expectations. Delicious! Comfy bed too. Great place, sad we only stayed one night really!

Lizzie was a lovely host - very friendly and welcoming. The room had everything we needed, although small, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. A great location - right on the waterside in Dartmouth - and breakfast was excellent.

I had a short but very pleasant and comfortable stay at Olivia's house with everything I needed for my two-day visit to Vobster Quay. Being able to hang wet diving gear in Olivia's garden was really helpful. The location is very quiet but amenities are close by should you need them. I would definitely stay at Olivia's house again - Ted the terrier was the icing on the cake!

Love staying here! Kenny is a fantastic host and we cant recommend her any it enough. Already looking forward to our next trip!

Belinda was very helpful about me needing to check in a bit early, very accommodating with my little dog, and also very welcoming and a lovely host. Breakfast was delicious - lovely granola with blueberries and yoghurt, perfect. She recommended various supper options and I tried the Cott Inn - fabulous food (I had the pea, shallot and sage tortelloni) and also dog friendly. I was visiting Totnes in order to go on a tour of the Agroforestry Research Trust which is a pioneering forest garden full of interesting edibles grown without needing much maintenance - ideal for growing healthy food at home alongside a busy lifestyle. The tour was great - and Belinda’s home was only a 15 min walk away, so it all worked out very well.

Katie was very friendly and the view out of our window over the fields of sheep and cows was lovely. A very rural and secluded location, but within minutes of Ashburton. We will definitely stay at Katie‘s place next time we are in in Devon.

Fiona could not have been a more generous host. Her house is lovely, breakfast delicious, the bed comfy, the bath water hot, and she could not have done more for us. We were doing a ridiculous long-distance walk, and Fiona's hospitality made it possible. Would definitely recommend. 10/10

Caroline was very flexible with check in. She was responsive and helpful with my requests prior to arriving. The accomodation was actually better than expected. The decor was beautiful and very well nicely furnished with some reallybwell though out touches. The bath was exellent and bed was massive and amazing. Definitly would highly recommend.

David was a great host and we got on really well with some good conversation He was very helpful with local knowledge and this made for an easier stay. Good breakfast as well!

The 3 weeks that I spent at Nina’s with Betsy, Minou and Suki as roommates were my most cherished weeks of 2025! Nina’s place is spotless, pretty, cosy, just everything to make you feel right at home. She’s a wonderful host, who became a friend. The city is the just spectacular and truly heals! My heart is heavy leaving this beautiful place, and my darling Betsy. Until next time!

This is my second time to Glastonbury & staying with Diana, such a great safe location less than 5 mins walk from the highstreet. felt right at home staying in Diana's can't wait to come back again next year.

Absolutely fantastic stay! Had a lovely room overlooking the stone circles, which are only a short walk away. Very friendly and welcoming, and will definitely stay again if I am in the area!

Polly’s place is just beautiful with the most stunning garden and cosy attic room. The bath is just wonderful (roll top) and the whole stay was so comfy and we had a lovely breakfast of cereals, bread/jam s d juice, plus the tea & coffees were in our room the whole time. Polly is extremely helpful and so friendly and lovely. Highly recommend her place and would stay again for sure! Thanks so much Polly xx

What perfect hosts, home and location! We had a lovely stay Ken and Tiejun so friendly warm and welcoming we felt right at home. It was everything we needed and much more, super room, quiet and extremely comfortable. The breakfast was incredible we can’t recommend this home and hosts enough! Book because you won’t be disappointed. Everything was super clean and had everything a guest could want.

We had a wonderful stay here. Both the house and our room were lovely and spacious, exactly what we were hoping for. We received such a warm and friendly welcome from David & Winston the dog which made us feel right at home straight away. We met Claudine later and she was just as friendly and welcoming. The bed was really comfortable, the shower was nice and hot and we had everything we needed for our stay. David came to chat to us as we left and wished us all the best on the rest of our travels which was lovely. Highly recommend! Thank you so much David & Claudine!

I arrived tired after driving through lashing rain. I was made to feel immensely welcome. Everything was very fine indeed and Rachel had put a lot of thought into providing everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Lovely home, felt relaxed and welcome. Very peaceful so had a great sleep followed by a very generous breakfast. Wish I could have stayed longer - next time!

Anne is a wonderful hostess, gave us a very warm welcome and recommendations! What a beautiful setting and the surroundings! Beautiful house and so quiet and peaceful just what we wanted in the magnificent Devon countryside. Exactly as in the photos and described. We stayed only one night unfortunately but would have loved to have stayed a week it was so beautiful there. Breakfast also was great and fresh sourdough bread Anne had just baked. Had a lovely walk around after breakfast and saw the horses, hens, sheep, stunning landscape and natural beautiful countryside. What a lovely dog Mack they have, he is so timid and welcoming also. This Old School is a wonderful place. Wilma and Ian are very engaging and made us feel so ‘at home’. The surrounding area is so peaceful and quiet and would serve as an excellent retreat if you chose a few night’s stay. What an awesome couple!
