Waterfront holiday rentals in Upstate South Carolina

I’m late leaving this review but we had a wonderful stay. The place looks brand new, sparkling clean, beautifully designed, and extremely comfortable. Craig and Janet couldn’t have been more friendly. We ran into Craig a few times around the property and had a really great time talking to him. We brought the boat and spent most of our days on the water. From a boating perspective, the dock is at the back of a quiet deep water cove. No worries whatsoever about water level or any kind of wake roughness, and it’s right around the corner from 18 mile creek access so drop in and take out is a breeze. It was a perfect place to retreat back to after a long day on the water. We can’t wait to come back and stay with Janet and Craig again!

Tammy was a wonderful host and very responsive. She even took it upon herself to contact us and let us know we could check in several hours early. Her place was spotless and everything looked practically new. The "house rules" were short, sensible and not burdensome in the least. The kayaks were great fun and a wonderful amenity. It's also a very convenient location to a lot of the area attractions. It's almost right on a section of the Palmetto Trail, which we were there to bike. She even allowed us to store our bikes in the downstairs mud room, which was perfect to keep them secure and out of the way. The surround sound system was a cool amenity as was the huge shower with the multiple shower heads. Great getaway!

This is my second time staying at this fantastic spot, and it was just as great as the first. They are wonderful hosts, the place is a real hidden gem, and the community has so much to offer. It certainly won't be my last time here!

Beautiful location! The host is definitely a nature person with beautiful plants and chickens. The place was both invigorating and tranquil. Definitely recommend!!

My wife and I and our friends had a great time! The location is great— right on the water. Mornings I had coffee in the hot tub watching deer run by and ospreys fly from tree to tree. The only sounds I heard were the occasional boat and myriad wildlife. In the afternoon, we chipped and putted golf balls on the mini “12th hole”. Overall, this was a great trip. It was a nice getaway. I highly recommend.

Our family LOVED staying at Deborah's Apartment in Anderson. Our boys had a GREAT time fishing. The community was very peaceful and everyone we met was very welcoming. The apartment was clean, adorable and had everything we needed for our stay in Anderson. The view was also AMAZING! We would definitely visit again.

Overall a really beautiful and peaceful spot that checked all the boxes for what I needed for the week. Super comfy and cozy. Had a really lovely stay, and Paul was super responsive. Definitely will be looking to book here again when I return to the area in the future!

Was a beautiful home, and we would happily stay again. We arrived right after storms had passed through and had no power for for first few hours. Hosts were very accommodating in making sure house still got cleaned and ready even without power. They offered to refund our first night if wanted to delay coming, and were keeping me posted almost hourly of updates. Was no fault of theirs, just Mother Nature. Loved the kayaks and all the board and card games. The deck and views are worth the whole place. Even provided s’mores supplies to make. Also the beds were extremely comfortable! Could not have asked for a better get away. Would love to return!

Absolutely perfect. We stayed for the week with our five kids (6,4,3, & 1 year old twins) and had an amazing family vacation. The space worked perfectly for our needs as a large family with small kids and the beach area was especially perfect for toddler playtime. The waterfall across the way was stunning and we loved boating around, fishing, swimming, fires by the lake, and rainy evenings in the hot tub. Such an amazing place for families!

Heather’s place was perfect. It was just outside of town, but the atmosphere felt very private. We really enjoyed easy access to the creek and morning coffee in the outdoor seating area overlooking the creek. Very easy walking to downtown.

Hardystone lake house is stunning both inside and out! Our family of six (4 boys , 2 parents ) had plenty of space and there was something for everyone. We loved that there were enough kayaks for all of us to use and the putting green was a big hit. It also had beautiful views from both decks and the double decker dock! This home was extremely clean, The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything you need if you prefer to cook like we do. We hope to be back! Tiny flying bugs would surround the doors at night so be quick opening/closing doors!

Perfect home for a family or group. Very spacious and clean, fully stocked kitchen we cooked dinner every night! The dock was perfect for tanning and swimming, our daughters also loved the kayaks and paddle board. Very peaceful location. We would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a lake trip! We love staying at the Extra House. This was our third or fourth time staying here. This time we desperately needed a recharge of our body, mind and soul. Words and pictures can't come close to describing what a special place this is. We had a mixed age group...11 to 74...all loved it. It has something for everybody. If you need peace, come to the Extra House. Robin is the best host. He is friendy and kind. He goes out of his way to make sure you feel at home.

Thank you for creating such a welcoming and relaxing space! We liked the indoor and outdoor areas and had everything we needed. Felt safe and private. Hot tub, sauna, and fire pit were awesome. We enjoy local recommendations from hosts and appreciated Landon's proactive communication about things to check out, from wineries and hiking to restaurants. There were several towns nearby (Tryon, Columbus, Saluda, Lake Lure, Landrum), as well as Tryon International (equestrian facility) - it was easy to get around and the suggestions were helpful! We hope to return and checkout Landon's 2.0 property next time.

Debbie was an excellent host! The house was just as described and the most organized we have ever rented. She was very responsive. The extras included for use in the lake made this a real value. The beds were comfortable and the decorations were darling! We are hoping to return in the future

We absolutely loved our stay! The place is privately located but within walking distance of downtown Gatlinburg. Every night my 2 year old wanted to go down to the river and play! :) We will totally be staying here again!

It was a great peaceful Escape for the weekend. The hosts were very communicative and the place was very clean.

The condo was absolutely perfect. It looked just like the pictures. It was very clean. We really enjoyed our stay and will stay again.

We had a great time! My kids loved going on the canoe in the pond. We also loved going to the pool after a day out apple picking and hiking. The mornings are also peaceful sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee listening to the waterfall.

Fran’s place was the perfect place for the family to stay for my son’s graduation. Very close to campus but away from the crowds. Fran’s place was clean and comfortable. The sheets and towels felt high end. I would recommend this place 100% and hope to be back! Fran was very proactive and made sure I had everything I needed for a smooth check in and check out.

We booked last minute and by that, a day and a half before we arrived. Darlene responded within minutes and made arrival so easy with perfect directions/information. Darlene checked in with us during our visit and with the welcome packet Darlene sent us, I had minimal if any questions. The place exceeded our expectations and was so very close to the club and all the amenities. View was beyond! The only negative was we never saw a bear. 😂 We will be back!

Beautiful home that fit our family’s needs perfectly.

We absolutely loved our stay here! We came with our 4 year old and our teenager. Both of them had a great time and had plenty of things to do that they both enjoyed, which is not usually the case with their age gap. The place itself had lots of toys and books for my toddler and her own bed. There were also games to play with my teenager as well. The kitchen was fully stocked and the house had all the little details like beach towels, an airfryer, and a picnic basket. The screened porch was a favorite location for all us to enjoy. We even saw a bear one day from the porch! The resort was a blas!. We utilized both in the indoor and outdoor pools, the mini golf, and the lake. We had no problem finding good food at the restaurants around us and the store was super close as well. We spent half of our time at the resort and half of it out exploring the nature surrounding us. There were sooo many waterfalls to see. It is such a beautiful area, we will most definitely be coming back!
